You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

[After a tough week's training, it'd made sense for Kanji to see how his group were doing. So they'd headed out for a day in the mountains at the first decent chance they'd gotten (sorry, school, but a man and his Pokémon've got to do what they've got to do).
So, here, then, was a young trainer, a Houndour by his side - and as he realised the weather was getting frostier, harsher, he was very glad for the fire-type's presence. But they'd been doing alright so far, hadn't they? They could go that bit further on, just check out what was around the corner... maybe find a bit of shelter, get a fire going for a bit...
...okay. A big rock. Wait, hadn't he heard about something like this?]

[ Once Kanji and his Houndour arrived at the rock the wind howls, the snow swirls, and a silhouette can be seen not far from where they're standing. It's not big but just barely one can make out that it is looking in their direction. ]

Hey. D'you see that, Rust?

[Is he seeing things clearly? It's hard to make anything out in this weather... damn it. Maybe this wasn't the best idea he's ever had.

There's one thing he's sure of, as the two move closer to get a clear look. Whatever the heck that is? Totally unfamiliar.]

[ The silhouette doesn't move as the two move slowly. It stands still and when they get close enough to see it clearly it has its arms folded and looking at the two. It seems to be judging what you two are and why you are here. But it doesn't look a bit afraid or even hostile at this point. ]

[Damn. Okay, that's definitely new to him - his heart's in his mouth as he steps closer. Okay. Just going to see, just going to make sure. Heck, he can probably get back down the mountain, draw it, ask people what it is... someone's got to know, right?

... but the fact it's not attacking them? That's an improvement on some of the things he's run into up here. He can't leave just yet.]

Ice Rock

There are a couple of reasons Feliks decided to come up here.

First and foremost, he has like, a painfully short attention span. Exploring the same areas again and again is less boring than staying safely tucked away in the city, but like, why would you when there's new stuff out there? And Wojtek the Cubchoo has seemed a little lonely for the mountains, especially since spring hit. And maybe there's even that little thing about wanting to be stronger and defend his city and ideals better next time, just a little, not like it's a big deal.

And finally, long as the winter was, his fabulous winter coats need one last hurrah before he packs them away for the year. It's totally crucial, ok?

Heeding Eren and his Glaceon's advice, Feliks and his Pokémon--Wojtek, Jadwiga, Danuta the Mienfoo, Marian the Scraggy, and Huzar the Dratini--have made a little gift basket together, mostly full of berries and pretty ribbons and whatever stuff his Pokémon thought looked impressive. A second basket, carried around Emilia's neck, has their lunch. Feliks is feeling optimistic about this little venture, but then, when isn't he?

As Feliks and his Pokemon make it up the mountain and to the Ice Rock there seems to be a Pokemon digging it's nose into the snow. It looks like it's searching for food. Or shelter in his harsh climate.

"Huh. You think it's like, looking for something?"

His question is met with shrugs from most of his Pokémon, which Feliks decides is a 'yes'. He tilts his head for a second, then seems to come to a decision.

"Okay! I'll help look, then!"

And he gets on the ground next to the Swinub, starting to burrow into the snow with his hands. Okay, so maybe he's using his fire powers to keep warm and speed up the work, but that's just helping, right?

Swinub continues to dig through the snow seemingly not phased by the fire helping it. It wasn't until it finds the berries it had buried deep in the snow earlier to eat later that it noticed. It squeals in response, picks up the branch of berries, and quickly backs away from Feliks.

Feliks blinks, then laughs, dusting the snow off of his hands.

"Oh, whatever, I totally don't want yours, they look all cold! Anyway, I've already got some, see?"

He shows the offering basket to the Swinub, hoping to help it understand that he doesn't need to steal anybody's food.

[It's cold.

It's really, really frickin' cold. But of course, that's exactly why Shi's urged Maya to get her behind up here-- resistance training is important, and Maya's been far too lax on personal training for Shi's liking. At the very least, Maya's dressed for the weather this time.]

Y'know, if I weren't crazy, I'd think you're just trying to get me killed.

[Shi rolls her eye, not even dignifying that with a response. Maya will get over it, she knows, and as they approach the Icy Rock and the storm grows, Shi sticks closer to Maya's side.]

[ In the distance there is a figure standing in the snow. Is it a bush? A tree? A very small person? There's only one way to find out.

Will you proceed? ]

[Hell yeah she'll proceed. The nosiness is strong in this one.

Stomping through the snow, Maya kind of leans forward inquisitively.]

H-Hello?

[A look from Shi, and Maya pouts.]

Well, it could be somebody.

[Regardless, Shi takes a place in front of Maya as guard.]

[ SUDDENLY the tree, person, whatever shuffles closer. It hears you Maya! But will it get any closer? Depends on what Maya does next. ]

[What Maya does next is jump.

That gets a ghastly little laugh out of Shi, who promptly receives a rap to the back of her.... body? Those things are all head. Who promptly gets a well-deserved pop.

Maya hops another step closer, trying to peer through the snowy weather to see this little... thing.]

Uh... H-hey there! Whatcha up to, little... guy?

[all in all, it had been a fairly decent start to Mana and Rikka's beginning as trainers... they were still rather common, but the two of them had managed to both bond with a Pidove and a Pidgey respectively. Now, they were focusing on less... ever-present Pokemon, and were starting in the Northern part of Verdant Forest]

Um, you wanted to look for a specific Pokémon out here, right Rikka...?

[Rikka just nods, looking around as they walk, and speaks absently.]

Yes, like I keep saying - strategy is important. Before we go running off to do anything especially stupid, we need to keep that in mind and be prepared. Especially since we've sort of let Alice get ahead of us in that area.

[Mana nodded slowly]

We have a lot to catch up on... but you're right about strategy at least. That's always what's suited you best... when I act with my heart, you lead with your head...!

[Walk a little further, either of you, and you'll be catching the sent of something particularly sweet. Did you do your homework? The Pokemon you're looking for might be near by from the smell of things.]

[She smiles a bit, and glances back at her friend.]

Which is why if we even want to head out into the world any, we need to be ready. We're a lot stronger now, but there's still a lot for us to learn...

[She looks back ahead of her.] Offense isn't everything, as well.

[Not to mention, she was fairly sure she had a lot of weaknesses since awakening as Cure Diamond as much as she had new power. But... she leaves that one to herself... mostly because she catches the scent, although it takes a few moments thanks to allergies.

Rikka stops in her tracks and her expression grows a bit more serious.]

Mana, hold on.

Re: Week 13 (April 5th - April 11th)

[Well, Kaido's finally had enough of having to rely on others to go places. And not being able to go with Squid girl if he ever wants or needs to, or having to negotiate with lawyer birds to go to the island... technically, he also had to ask Ezreal for his rod, but at least he's doing something himself.

"Something" is fishing. He went straight to the ocean to test his new rod, because hey, if there's a chance of finding large water mons, it'll be in the ocean, right?

He's sitting there with his line in the water, his pokemon sitting on either side of him, bathing in the sun]

[It's a nice day to go sunbathing, at least. The spring air hasn't warmed up yet to be uncomfortable and the gentle sun is mild enough that a burn is only likely with a few hours of exposure.

Hopefully Kaido will land something sooner than that.

What does he have as bait?]

[Considering he's a beginner? At least as the day went by he went from a simple lure to worms. And pricked his fingers a couple of times (hey, no one taught him how to fish)]

[Hmm... Does he really want to stick to such conventional fare? Ocean Pokemon have a lot of other options besides worms, you know. Fallen berries from trees near the coast are popular - the Finneon are particularly attracted to sweets. There's also always seaweed and kelp, of course, for those Pokemon who prefer their meals less liable to escape.]
