The vast wilderness beckons! Beginning January 25th, 2014, all wild Pokémon threads that aren't incorporated as part of another post should go here. You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

Please respond to the correct Week if possible for organizational purposes.

"Huh. You think it's like, looking for something?"

His question is met with shrugs from most of his Pokémon, which Feliks decides is a 'yes'. He tilts his head for a second, then seems to come to a decision.

"Okay! I'll help look, then!"

And he gets on the ground next to the Swinub, starting to burrow into the snow with his hands. Okay, so maybe he's using his fire powers to keep warm and speed up the work, but that's just helping, right?

Swinub continues to dig through the snow seemingly not phased by the fire helping it. It wasn't until it finds the berries it had buried deep in the snow earlier to eat later that it noticed. It squeals in response, picks up the branch of berries, and quickly backs away from Feliks.

Feliks blinks, then laughs, dusting the snow off of his hands.

"Oh, whatever, I totally don't want yours, they look all cold! Anyway, I've already got some, see?"

He shows the offering basket to the Swinub, hoping to help it understand that he doesn't need to steal anybody's food.

The Swinub looks at the basket and inches closer. Despite the ice and snow it can smell the food and it's curious to know what it inside.

However, it doesn't get too close. It doesn't want to suddenly be thought of as a potential thief after it thought Feliks was going to steal its food.

"Emilia, come here a sec?"

Reaching into the lunch basket the Houndoom is carrying, he searches around until he finds a chesto berry-flavored Poképuff, setting it on the ground in front of him. He activates his warp band at the Swinub. {There's not a lot of food up here in the snow, huh? This is for the ice rock, but you can have that.}

For a moment the Swinub looks at the chesto berry-flavored Poképuff and almost goes to eat it. However hearing what it's for it stops and looks at Feliks instead.

"{ A-Are you sure? If it's for the Ice Rock I don't think I should take it! }"

{Oh, no no, it's good! This one's for the Ice Rock--}

He holds up the basket in his hands, then gestures to the one his Houndoom friend is holding.

{But that one's just our lunch, and there's lots more in the big human place we came from. Don't worry, it's fine to eat!}

The Swinub looks to one basket then to the basket that Houndoom is holding. It then squeals happily, thanking Feliks before munching on the PokePuff. Once it was finished it looks back at Feliks again. It looks like it wants more.

...Well, what can it hurt? Feliks is a little bit of a softie for Pokémon. He takes out another Poképuff, holding it out in his hand towards the Pokémon.

{Must be way hard to find food up here. Will it get easier in the spring?}

Swinub slowly moves over to Feliks hand, sniffing the pokepuff before munching on it. It only stops for a moment in order to answer the question.

"{ A little. But it's always snowing here so we're always scavenging for food.}"

Tentatively, he reaches out to pat its head. So furry! He guesses that makes sense, with all the snow and all.

{Could you look for food lower down? There's a lot more of it.}

Thanks to the offerings Swinub doesn't mind the petting. In fact it really likes it and looks very content about it. But its response sounds more nervous than content.

"{I don't know what's down there. I'm scared to go. It's not in protection of the Rock.}"

Well, as long as the petting is well-received, Feliks guesses he'll go ahead and continue.

{It's seriously not that bad down there... So what does the Rock do?}

"{Protect us! That's why we give it offerings; if we don't it might not protect us anymore!}"

All said while continuing to enjoy the petting.

{Yeah, but from what?}

He doesn't expect much of an answer there, really--he's religious enough to kind of get the idea. Moving on...

{Do you ever want to see what it's like down the mountain? I lived inside the walls of the human city a long time, and I always wanted to come out and see new things!}

The Swinub pauses for a moment.

"{ The dangers that are away from the Rock}"

Yep. Not much of an answer. But the Swinub does think of what Feliks is saying for a moment.

"{ Sometimes. But the rumors I hear keep me from doing that. I'm not strong enough to go alone. }"

Feliks grins, scratching the top of the Pokémon's head.

{You can come with us for a while, if you want to? A lot of us are strong, and we're even stronger together!}

The Swinub's eyes seem to shine then it hears this.

"{Can I really}"

{Sure, no problem! I can show you lots of cool places, and maybe we can find some more together.}

The Swinub squeals in delight and nudges against Feliks affectionately. It's going to have no problem being beside such a kind, strong, person!

Congrats, you have officially bonded with Swinub! It's at Level 23 and the first of its stats are up to your discretion.
