The vast wilderness beckons! Beginning January 25th, 2014, all wild Pokémon threads that aren't incorporated as part of another post should go here. You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

Please respond to the correct Week if possible for organizational purposes.

Verdant Forest (East)

[Mary hasn't been paying too much attention to the goings-on of Union, as of late. She's just happy with simple exploring and making friends, even though they're all Pokemon. But, surely if she has even more Pokemon friends, then she'll be able to make lots of human friends too, right? It's the people who have tons of Pokemon friends that are the most popular, right?

And so, once again, she's wandering around the eastern area of Verdant Forest. Maybe today will be her lucky day and she'll get to meet another new, exciting Pokemon to befriend!]

[ The forest is filled with the usual occupants inside it. Rattata, caterpie, pidgey and so forth. Probably not very exciting, right? But upon coming into an area of the east forest, there's a strange yellow -- thing poking out from a bush, wiggling a bit... how odd! ]

[portraitor]

[Pokemon like Rattata and Pidgey are okay, but she's seen them enough time that she glosses over them during her trip through the forest today.

That yellow thing poking out of the bushes over there, however? Definitely eye-catching.]

What do you think it is, Oddy? [She turns to her Oddish, trailing along behind her. Oddish tilts its leaves a little before making a shrugging motion.] Hm...well, there's just one way to find out!

[And thus, she tries to quietly get closer to it so that she can get a glimpse of it. True, "quiet" in Mary's world doesn't mean much and she can be heard coming towards it pretty easily, but at least she hasn't started shouting to it or something yet.]

[ The tail definitely does start to wriggle around at the sounds of her coming closer -- until then the whole body of a pikachu pops out! It looks around, but when it catches the sight of Mary it freezes.

Oh no. Is Mary going to keep getting closer? ]

Oh, it's a cute Pokemon! [...Oh right, talking sort of ruins trying to get closer to one without spooking it. At least she stops moving once it spots her, but she does grin and cheerfully wave to it, oblivious to any concern about meeting Pokemon she's not familiar with.]

Hi, I'm Mary! And this is Oddy! [The Oddish reluctantly kind of waves it's leaves back. Hi there, please don't be intimidated by our sudden appearance here...]

nopenopenopenope time to jump over the bush and disappear.

Except, not really. The bush shakes as the pikachu squeezes itself into it, thinking it will be the best hiding place! Surely it didn't cause the bush to shake at all and its ears definitely aren't now poking out from the top (it's not a very big bush....). ]

Flower Grove

[Somehow, Ruby ended up coming out here with Asch fon Fabre? It was something about Asch telling his father where he was if he didn't let him come too... It was stupid, but Asch was from one of the most noble families in Union and his own father was a suck up to them so it wasn't a surprise the Fabres knew about him running away. Still, blackmail sucked and Ruby sulked the whole way out to the Flower Grove, only taking solace in the fact it was a gorgeous place with adorable Pokemon. He wished his father wasn't part of the Swords, otherwise Asch wouldn't have an excuse to talk to him.]

I still don't know why you came too, you must have something better to do...

Nah, kid, let's just get this over with.

[He knows you, Ruby's father and mother always dragged him along to some of Asch's father's parties in the past and he was memorable for being the only person in a hat. Asch also knows you're under thirteen and can't allow himself to let Ruby venture freely without an "adult" along. The red-head seems like the type to care about no one but himself but Asch can be rather caring and subcutaneously considered for others.] Looking to bond with anything special?

[Beauty was with Asch today, the flower fields seemed like her type of place. Yawning and resting atop a nearby rock, dark eyes illuminating over both males.]

I didn't need anyone to come with me.

[Ruby huffs a little, wondering if he could make a break for it and ditch the other. That would be a sure way for Asch to tell his dad about him though... augh! This was so stupid. Whatever, he switches gears and looks around the meadow, clasping his hands together.]

I'm sure the cutest Pokemon live here... it's so beautiful, it's inspiring! It makes me want to embroider floral patterns... Oh, and your Vulpix looks absolutely adorable out here in the flowers, you should get her something to match the aesthetic...

Ahh, actually, you do. [Know-it-all tone, he's heard Ruby's father go on and on about how Ruby isn't an idea battler.. Asch highly doubts this kid is ready for real wild Pokemon.] Hey, listen, keep your hands off Beauty. She's sunbathing and doesn't like bothered. [Aww, Asch, are you whipped by your very own Pokemon?

...yeah.]

[He pouts a little, just focusing on Beauty and taking his brushes out of his bag despite Asch's warning.]

I'm sure she'd love a good brushing, especially after walking through the grass. I can make her positively shine!

Ugh, fine, do whatever you want but don't come crying to me when she burns you. [Hump- telling Asch you know best for his Pokemon.

Get bent, kid.] What exactly constitutes as beautiful..? Not that I care but that's what you're looking for, right?

Pokemon like Beauty don't live around here.

Beauty is beautiful, it's a fact. Every beautiful Pokemon has its own unique characteristics and charms too... They're the loveliest thing in the world! Nothing can beat a gorgeous Pokemon like this!

[He continues to flatter the Vulpix, brushing her soft fur while he goes on and on.]

I'm looking for... hm. Something adorable! All of my Pokemon are super cute, but something even more adorable would be the best!

I guess.. [Whatever you say, kid. Honestly, Asch is having a hard time just coming to terms with how awkward he is without Luke around. As long as Beauty doesn't mind.. he's doesn't either.] Something adorable? Do I look like the kinda guy that knows anything about adorable Pokemon?

I don't know, a flower-type Pokemon or something? [AND YOU PICK ON LUKE FOR BEING A DUMBASS!!] That sounds cute.

[Damn it!-- ANOTHER HEADACHE?! So suddenly too. To Hell with this shifter Pokemon.. enlightened.. bullshit whatever!] Perfect. [/Off-handed comments for everyone.]

Well you have a bunch of adorable Pokemon, so that was my first clue. Even if Vaporeon's like... the least cute of Eevee's evolutions, he's still cute.

Mm... a Flower Pokemon would be so cute! I...

[He looks up from brushing Beauty, rambling on, when he notices Asch is in pain.]

Flower Grove

[Yuui had been fascinated with the blooms in the Flower Grove when they had travelled through it on their way to Cladera, but there hadn't really been time to stop and smell the gracideas, as it were. So when he was beginning to feel a bit too much like the third wheel with Fai and Feliks, the grove seemed like the logical place to go.

Keeping an eye out for any vegetation he's so far unfamiliar with and casually checking if one of his pokémon companions have a reaction to anything in particular other than customary curiosity he takes his time stepping carefully through the grass.]

[No unfamiliar vegetation, given that he was present when flowers of a similar nature overran Union. It's all very strangely familiar.

There may be unfamiliar shadows darting around the flowers, though.]

[It's Cargan who first spots the movements and he makes a low sound as he bumps Yuui's leg to get his attention. Yuui smiles down at him, his finger stroking lightly over one of his crystals, before redirecting his attention to the mystery ]

[Not too much! The shadows stop darting around, although it's clear that Yuui will probably find something if he looks underneath the flower bushes.]

[He hopes that they haven't managed to scare whatever it is and he hesitates a moment before bending down to take a look under the flower bush. He makes sure to keep his movements slow and careful, trying to look as unthreatening as possible while Cargan stays a couple of steps back so as not to appear quite as looming.

Hopefully this will not end up with him getting his face sprayed with something unpleasant but it's a risk he's willing to take.]

[He will be met with the face of a very surprised looking fox-like creature. ...After a few moments of staring, it will slowly begin to sidestep until it is covered by a particularly large leaf.

.........maybe he hasn't seen it yet.]

[Yuui has to press the palm of his hand against his lips to keep any sound from escaping. He doesn't want to startle the poor thing more than he already has, no matter how adorable he things it is.]

[He sits down in the grass next to it but makes no move to remove the leaf it's hiding behind.]

Hello there. I'm sorry, we didn't mean to startle you. [He activates his warp band so that the Eevee will be able to understand him while doing his best to empathically exude calm and general good will.] Any chance I could convince you to come out from under there? I have food.

[This is a normal leaf with brown furry legs it doesn't know why you're talking to it leaves can't respond?

.......At the mention of food, though, the leaf will shake a little as its ears twitch.]

[Taking the twitch as a sign of interest Yuui digs around in his bag and comes out with two of his homemade biscuits. He tosses one of them to Cargan, because fair is fair, and then holds the other one out towards the leaf.]
