The vast wilderness beckons! Beginning January 25th, 2014, all wild Pokémon threads that aren't incorporated as part of another post should go here. You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

Please respond to the correct Week if possible for organizational purposes.

[After hearing of the strange rock in the Verdant Forest and its effects on Pokémon, Apollo had decided to take a look for himself. It quickly became obvious why no one had discovered it before, considering how thick the foliage in the area was, but he soon found the path and slipped in, expertly avoiding getting branches in his face or making any loud noises. He emerged into the clearing with feet bare and mind open to any Pokémon that might be nearby. The calmness of the area was wonderful, and he paused for a moment to let it wash over him.]

[ The calmness of the area is wonderful indeed. There didn't seem to be any Pokemon immediately in the area. However just moments after he paused there is a rustle in the nearby foliage. ]

[Apollo looks over at the source of the sound, careful not to make any sudden movements that might startle anyone. He reaches out with his mind to send a gentle greeting and assurance that he means no harm.]

[ As the greeting reaches the foliage there is another shuffle. Soon another a Bellsprout pokes its head out and looks at Apollo curiously. It's never seen such a thing like you before around here. ]

[ Everyone is going to explore this rock out here in the Verdant Forest since the rich girl found it. And... you know what, she's no exception. She's out here with Shiram (her baby Charmander) outside and flanked by Lurks the Croagunk, one of the watchers of the babies. Shiram, despite being young, can usually survive in the forest and because of that he's the one out to see what's out here with her ]

[ Once they all got to the rock they might all get the feeling that something is in the foliage watching them very carefully. ]

[ The babies do not, because babies. But Mel does. And Lurks does too (though it may or may not be his anticipation ability). But... honestly this place is serene, so she doesn't think much of it, instead walking over to the Rock to tap on it ]

So here's the thing, huh? ]

[ The moment that Mel does an jumps out of the foliage and bounces up and down. Hey hey! Be careful with that rock don't damage it! ]

This is not cool!

[Yang is walking through the mountains again, but she's found something different this time. The area nearby is snowy -- icy, with winds howling all around. She shivers, drawing her cloak around her. She has it over her shorter jacket and shorts, but it's just not adequate.]

Actually, I guess it is cool...

[She frowns. Hex floats behind her; the Misdreavus is really here for scouting and the like. For all of her talk, she's not trained her Pokémon as much as herself. She's supposed to protect them, she thinks.]

[So she focuses on getting stronger. Maybe too much, part of her thinks. The part that's not freezing.]

...too cool, though!

[ Things are about to get cooler as there is a blast of what seems to be the attack Icy Wind aimed at the direction of Yang and her Pokemon. ]

Whoa--

[Yang spins and turns, when she feels the first burst of wind. Hex flies up, but isn't fast enough; the icy blast catches him and knocks him away from Yang. Yang herself manages a smooth jump into the air, the icy wind catching her feet, sending a sharp chill to the bone, but not knocking her back into the rocks.]

[She lands, in a three point stance. She glances once at Hex; the Misdreavus is against a nearby rock, and starting to float up. Then she looks back at the direction it came in, eyes narrowing.]

[ A moment after Yang landed a Glaceon jumps out from its attacking point and lands in it's own fighting stance eyes narrowed. It growls in warning that Yang should leave or else it'll have to get rid of her by force. ]

[ She'd wandering deeper into the forest than she had ever gone before with ot without someone else with her. But Ib was never alone, she had her pokémon friends with her. This place they came upon is so peaceful it seemed like a good place to sit and start writing her notes for the day. ]

[The area around the large, mossy rock radiates tranquility. The original group to discover it had come across the Pokemon most closely associated with its power, but it is clear that other forest creatures are drawn to this spot as well. When Ib appears through the brush, however, there is a sudden burst of movement as many of the nearby Pokemon retreat back into the forest and melt away into the trees.

She can try to stop them if she likes but she can go about her business normally as well.]

[ She notices that some pokémon ran off but she's not the type to go after them. That could scare them further or cause a fight which she would prefer to avoid. Instead she settles on the ground, fixing her skirts so they keep her legs covered, and keeping her pokémon close. Hopefully by calmly going about they're own business she can show them that they don't mean any harm by being there. ]

[The clearing around the Moss Rock is now... clear. Relatively speaking, anyway. There is the sense that there are still eyes fixed upon her, but this, too, will fade after a few moments.

As Ib sits on the ground, a flash of gold will catch her eye - it glints from right beside the gigantic rock.]

[Garen has made it out to the so called Moss Rock himself after learning a bit more about it to discover it's location in the Verdant Forest. Granted it is apparently sanctioned as non-hazardous by the Council but one can't be too careful and thusly he strides forth calmly with his Honedge drifting behind, and occasionally hanging idly as it scans the area for something that might catch Garen's interest.

But really, he wants to inspect the rock itself, the greenery here seemed much more vibrant and he is allowed curiosities; one of the few things if one believes rumors.]

[The Moss Rock is large, rocky, and mossy. Whoever bequeathed upon it its epithet had a penchant for descriptive names. As Garen has already noted, the area around this rock seems more verdant than the rest of the forest.

As Garen steps around the rock, he may notice a few smaller rocks scattered around its base - brownish, with strange green spots.]

[Odd, to say the least. Motioning his Honedge closer, Garen kneels as his attention is finally drawn to the small rocks, and picks one up for a closer look; these spots might be troublesome if they spread easily.]

[Unfortunately, when Garen reaches down for the rocks, he will find them awfully spongy.

And awfully annoyed.

As the Pokemon is plucked out of the ground, it grunts in irritation and spews a cloud of spores straight into Garen's face! A wild Shroomish has appeared!]

Re: Week 12 (March 29th - April 4th)

[He probably wasn't the only one coming through here. After all, some magical rock that facilities evolution was bound to attract both trainers and researchers. At least, that's his guess.

It's mostly why he's here too. He's never explored much of the forest beyond the shrines so far, but it seemed kind of strange that a giant boulder would be the subject of fascination. Sure it helped with evolution, but how is it any different from any other rock?]

Man, I hope this is worth it. [Coming up to the clearing where the rock was, Mickey trots by his side, enjoying the fresh area of the forest while his Hoothoot, Highwind, rests quietly on his shoulder. Hopefully nothing too powerful will pop out.]

[Riku should hardly expect that he can just walk up to the rock and wait for a Pokemon to pop out. They're highly secretive creatures, after all, prone to distrust and dislike of humans. It will take careful planning, many hours of work, and an open heart filled with friendship and love to take on the highly complicated task of --

While Riku contemplates the boulder, he is headbutted sharply from behind.]

[Hey, anything could happen out here.

Like that. He stumbles forward before catching himself, Highwind having launched into the air from his shoulder and Mickey jumping equally as far from the surprise attack. He's trying to put on a brave face and worry about Riku less, barking at the intruder. Who gives you the right to headbutt people?!]

What gives...? [It's a recently discovered area, so of course some might be protective of it, but still.]

[A wild Skiddo has appeared! The young goat-like creature paws at the ground before lowering its head to Tackle again!]
