Action on the Tropical Island.

[If you happen to be wandering around the island today, especially walking along the beach, you might be a little bit surprised to find yourself passing through an area that looks a little bit like it'd been hit by several meteors...or a series of miniature volcanic eruptions. There are large patches of sand that have a glassy sheen to them, or deep divots and furrows all around. The surf is just beginning to wash away some of it, but there was definitely something going on.

If you keep going, you'll actually find a teenage girl laying under an umbrella a little further on down the beach, the entire area blanketed in harsh sunlight. She looks a little beat, scuffed and bruised up, and laying down beside her is a Noivern that looks similarly exhausted. It's chest rises and falls and it's eyes are closed in sleep, tail curling around the umbrella protectively, while several other scamper around, playing in the surf. A Cherubi, a collection of golden Exeggcute, and a Cubchoo seem to be playing some sort of game, tossing a rock at a Venusaur. Every time the rock gets close, it's smacked away by a vine, almost effortlessly at that. It seems like they're trying to get those rocks into a small crater behind the big plant-toad, and...failing.

Either way, Yukiko doesn't seem to be completely aware of her surroundings, or of anyone approaching. This is probably good, given that she's trying out a Calderan swimsuit for the first time and she wouldn't be caught dead wearing one of those around other people.

Whoops...]

Video:

[The video feed opens up to show a sunny beach, little paws covering part of the lens for a moment as Teddie accidentally slips up getting it off his trainer's wrist. He and Bereth have a surprise for her, after all.

Setting it down in the sand, he scampers a little ways off and whistles, waving a snotty paw to get Bereth on screen. The Noivern complies, stretching and standing upright, tapping his chest with a claw like a singer might before they start belting out a song.

And then...the horror begins. The audio feed is filled with a horrific shriek, though it seems to have an actual melody to it. The little Cubchoo appears to be attempting to sing along, but the noise is just so great that he's completely drowned out.

In fact, the only other thing audible over the explosive burst of sound is a feminine cry of surprise, dismay, and rage.]

OH MY GODS WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! WHY ARE YOU...STOOOOOP!!!

[Yukiko appears on the video now, leading with a flying tackle to the big dragon. The noise abates so your speakers are no longer about to explode...]

AND YOU TURNED ON THE WARP BAND TOO?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU TWO?!

[Someone hasn't quite gotten their hearing back completely...but the band is snatched up and she looks apologetic...]

SORRY EVERYONE! SOMEONE'S GOING TO BE SLEEPING IN THE HABITAT FOR A WHILE...

With the revelation of the presence of the Enhanced, Union was able to quickly mobilize. As the strange conditions continued to worsen, the Trainers of Union once again set out to bring order to the chaos.

This time however, they do not walk entirely alone. A small, dedicated team remains behind in Union, sorting through the dossiers and information that Crystal and Rory have collected. Connected to those in the field via Warp Band network, hopefully they can identify the Enhanced and find a way to calm them before a tragedy occurs.

[OOC: There will be a thread for each active team based on the sign-ups. Any areas that did not have any sign-ups will not be present and will be addressed later. As per our usual standards, moderators and NPC helpers will progress the log at least once every 24 hours. The Union log will work somewhat differently from the battle logs in that the participants will be collecting information concerning the Enhanced; when enough information has been accumulated, they will be asked to tag into the battle threads to provide guidance and support to those out in the field.

Characters participating in the Union log will function as support staff for this event. They will have their own log interacting with Rory and Crystal and as characters in other logs encounter the Enhanced, they can use the observations made to try to find out more about the Enhanced in the field and help the people in the field determine an appropriate situation. Because of this, players in the Union thread may threadjack any ongoing log to relay information as needed.

The outcome of this event will depend very much on player decisions and the ability of the characters to respond to the threats at hand, so we would highly encourage you all to tag as regularly as possible. Thanks!]

Action, Union:

[With Salvation over and a new year beginning, Yukiko means to make the most of it. Temporarily staying with a friend has been good for her, and it's giving her parents a little time to calm down. Daily band calls and commentary on her progress are probably helping, but she's still not returning. Not for the time being.

Though, she's not trying to be a disrespectful or troublesome daughter, so before she heads off on her first lengthy trip she makes a stop by the Spa and home for an hour or two to offer to help out...and she's surprised to find that she's not being fussed at. And that she's not being pushed to work. There's still a little tension, but her father at least seems to understand. She's growing up, and she does need to work out her own life.

Customers are free to bump into her, though all she's doing is checking in guests for a bit today.

After she feels like she's done enough, she says her goodbyes, gathers up her Pokemon, and heads out into the city to gather supplies. A backpack, heavy gloves, food, and a few other things are on the agenda, and will take her the remainder of the morning to get together. She's in a bit of a hurry in addition to distracted, and Jiraya and Tohil the Helioptile are both excited to be going on a trip, so it's entirely possible one or more of them may bump into someone or something!

Once all that's done, Yukiko's off, marching purposefully out the Eastern gates and the mountains.]

Action: Mountains/Locked to Son Goku

[A piercing, feminine shriek echoes across the frozen landscape, accompanied by a bone-jarring roar. The Pokemon's battlecry is followed by the sounds of a nearby fight, and one that's clearly not going terribly well for the girl involved.]

[A video feed clicks on right at dusk to show a bedraggled Yukiko holding a roughed up looking Cubchoo in her arms. She's dirty, a little scuffed up, with a dab of dried blood on her flushed cheek. And she's glowing. The whole feed is, intense light absolutely flooding the camera like a midday sun. And despite her and the Cubchoo's apparently state of disarray, she's smiling serenely.]

I...think I evolved. If the glow is any indication of that, anyway. But is there any way to really tell? [She looks down at the little bear in her arms, and it wiggles cutely, happy for more attention.] We'll be back in Union soon, and...

[Her stomach gurgles and she trails off, clearly embarrassed and obviously famished.]

And...um, are there any good buffets that are open late?

[Amid all the Salvation Day preparations and wellwishes, there's always bound to be a little bit of normalcy, people just going on about their business. And there's also bound to be a people using the period to spring into new things and make resolutions and find inspiration to change their situation in the story of the Savior. Sometimes it might not seem like much, but to those people, like the young woman who's now addressing the Warp Band? It's a huge deal.

She looks a little nervous and uncomfortable sitting outside under a gazebo, but seems to be managing to smile. It's not forced, but it's a little uncertain, like she's not sure what exactly she's supposed to be doing]

Good...Good afternoon, whoever's paying attention to this thing. I know everyone's probably getting ready for the holiday, but I just got the video function upgrade for my Warp Band and I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Yukiko Amagi. [Her head dips in greeting.] I look forward to...um...talking to you guys with this. I...uh, well...I guess that's about it.

[Yukiko waves a little awkwardly and finishes with:]

Uh...Happy Salvation Day.

[She's about to reach down and close the feed when something green hops up into her lap before shoving it's eye right in the camera. Hope you don't mind a Bulbasaur staring right at you.]

Jiraiya! Cut that out!

[The Pokemon turns around to look at her, not even considering what might be revealed for all to see when he does so. There's a yelp and the feed clicks off, but not before Union gets a pleasant view of a Bulbasaur butt being lifted away from the camera, and a very, very red-faced Yukiko.]

Action

[For anyone that prefers to face to face instead of video to moon meetings, Yukiko's heading out of one of Union's many parks, walking briskly to keep warm in the snow. Jiraiya is prancing around on one of the paths at her feet, hopping up and down excitedly as he dashes towards one of the southern gates in spite of the weather. It may be a bit cold for a first day, but...well, no point in saying you're going to do something if you don't actually do it. There's an air of nervousness to her, as if she's expecting someone to jump out and stop her at any point, but once she reaches the gates and heads outside she seems to relax a bit. Of course, if you actually want to make her jump, it'd be incredibly easy...]
