They came in a horde. Ferried by enormous water types and a huge flock of flying types, each fully evolved with strange markings across its body. They were angry. They were in pain. And they were here.

Moving across the land like a tidal wave, the horde of strange Pokemon swept across the land, making their way inexorably toward Union, and leaving devastation in their wake. At their head, a Psychic Pokemon of immense, immeasurable power. Covered in armor that did little to mask the scent of rotting flesh that accompanied it, the Pokemon’s mind seemed unburdened by the state of its body as it swept trees from their root with but a contemptuous gesture.

As the Union forces scrambled to meet the army of Pokemon, Ori, the mysterious young person who had visited before appeared in a flash.

Begone, Origin! This no longer concerns you!

The voice thundered in the minds of all present, the rage of the attacking Pokemon palpable as its horde roared in agreement.

Ori gave the Pokemon a sad smile as their body began to glow with an aura of pink light. In an instant, the human was gone, and another, much smaller Pokemon remained.

This is unnecessary. We… they can help you.

I trusted my fate to humanity once. Never again will I make such a foolish mistake.

You will see. They will show you the way.

The two mysterious stones taken from the Gigas installation appeared besides Ori, but their sheen seemed almost nonexistent. Closing their eyes, the Pokemon engulfed the battlefield in an aura of shimmering pink light. The wails and screams of the Pokemon assembled before them grew palpable. Screams of pain, screams of want, screams of beings slowly dying, grasping for a final hope that their master might cast down the accursed humans and find a cure for their malady, a way to allow them to live as whole beings.

But comprehension is not understanding. Heedless of the aura, the Pokemon advanced, a wave of destructive fury hurled to the teeth of the Union column.

[Mew’s Blessing: During this log all characters will be able to communicate with each other and all Pokemon telepathically, and can resonate with them without having to use their Warp Band. They can bond with any Pokemon on the field without the aid of their warp band, so long as they can present a good reason for the enemy to do so.

Children of the Verdant Forest will be especially affected, and during this log they will have a sharp increase in their empathic feelings. They will feel the pain of the cloned Pokemon before them, the pain of being “lesser” beings, incomplete, and the pain of the knowledge that their lives will soon end, the process that created them being unable to sustain their lives.

Kindred Souls will have some empathic ability, but to a lesser degree than Children of the Verdant Forest as outlined above]

The people of Union have had an odd week. While it was nice to cap things off with the knowledge that Gigas is not going to try and invade them again (for now), the population has had to deal with a different sort of intruder. Namely, Abra. Abra teleporting anywhere and everywhere. Abra teleporting places to try and hide.

Absolutely terrified Abra. To say nothing of the dreams the city's Psychic-types have discussed.

And now, as a new week dawns...the nightmares spread to everyone. Without exception. Perhaps you're fortunate and things that go bump in the night don't frighten you, but sleeping brings a sense of dread, and a hazy vision of a world in ruins. Night after night after night. The first one is horrifying for shock value. The next few are horrifying because they won't stop.

How will you deal? Where will you go, in the middle of the night, if you're the sort who tries to clear their heads? Will you share what you've been experiencing or keep it to yourself?

No matter what you do, the nightmares continue. And the Abra continue to shiver.

[[ This is a catch-all post/mingle for people wanting to react to their weird nightmares! As mentioned here, they have now spread to the entire population. Players are welcome to continue making their own posts addressing the nightmares if they prefer. ]]

The message goes out across all Warp Bands as the new week dawns - a week that will bring, for Union, its fair share of troubles every evening in dreams. This morning, however, there’s nothing but good news.

(Probably.)

“Citizens of Union,” says the voice on the other end of the audio broadcast. Those who witnessed the retreat of Gigas’s forces will recognize the solder who has been speaking for the city. “It is my honor and pleasure to announce to you a treaty has been agreed upon between your government and ours.”

A pause, and if the speaker had been considering making a reference to certain unpleasant discoveries regarding the state of the Gigan government, they decide against it. “While continuing to honor Union’s right to sovereign rule, coverage of Warp Band devices will now extend to within Gigan territory. We hope that providing you with this convenience will be taken as a gesture of goodwill, and that both civilizations can learn from one another. Citizens of Union and its allies will be welcomed to any of Gigas’s holdings with open arms. We encourage you to visit so we, too, can continue to share the fruits of our civilization with you. Good day.”

“We got more than jus’ fruit, sonny!” a voice is heard to protest before the communication can be cut off. Anyone who’d attended the World’s Fair or spoken with the Crescent delegation might recognize the voice. But all’s well that seems to have ended well.

[[ OOC: Apps for Gigas are now fully open, and characters are welcome to explore the city, as well. ]]

The opposing armies meet just outside the forest, the more idiosyncratic forces of Union and its allies up against fully-organized Gigan might. Wheeled transports carry many of the enemy troops while strange metal cylinders with rotating blades keeping them aloft swoop around overhead in a near parody of Flying-type Pokémon. And marching among the soldiers and their transports, unmistakable by their bulk, each wearing a metal band around their middles, are the mighty yet enslaved Gods themselves.

The clifflike bulk of Regirock.

The glacial progression of Regice.

The alien presence of Registeel.

And, dead in the center of the formation, towering over them all, the sheer presence of Regigigas, crown jewel of the Emperor’s ill-gotten forces.

There is no attempt to negotiate. No overtures first, no white flags of truce to try working this out. The Gigan army has come to fight, armed with technology. The Union army has come to defend, armed with the bonds between themselves and their Pokémon. This spirit has earned them an additional boon: blessings from the gods who favor Union, who support the humans they believe in with the hopes their comrades can still be rescued.

Thus the battle is joined.

[[ OOC: As noted, all participants in this event get to pick one stat-boosting “blessing” from the gods, just like when they defended from Sveta’s attack. Please note which blessing your character received in their first tag. Also note that Mod tags will come once every 24 hours, unless all characters in the log have replied, then they will come more frequently.]]

After weeks of waiting uneasily in the aftermath of the chaotic infiltration of Gigas to right a terrible wrong, the Council finally decided that it’s time to make a move. It's wasn't a decision that they made lightly, but the events in the distant city has proven a point that they had all seen coming:

The time where they could stay in the safety of Union's walls was no more, not when the Gods themselves were far from the infallible beings that they had believed for generations. It was time for Humans to once again take their stand. Joined by their allies from Caldera, Sanctuary, and the other surrounding cities, the people of Union Alliance gathered their supplies and set out west-- toward Gigas. The distant city had not remained silent either, rumors spreading of mobilization, and the fires of war loom as large as the four imprisoned titans over all the land.

The Gods had saved humanity countless times before. It was time that humanity returned the favor.

[OOC: Event Sign Ups are now open! We encourage all players to participate in this pivotal event. You can pick your teams of five yourselves, or you can request to be placed in a randomized pool that will be determined at the end of the sign up period, on 7/15.

An OOC post will be made explaining the next stage in more detail. Please use this post as a catch-all for your IC needs.]

[ A few days after the dust has settled, and those who fought bravely against the Gigan troops return to Union, an announcement runs over the feed. Judging from the dim lighting in the video, it appears to have been pre-recorded by at least a few hours, sometime in the middle of the night.

Sitting there in a somewhat sparsely-decorated bedroom is a familiar red-haired girl, who looks quite a bit worse for wear. Her coloring is a bit off, and she looks tired, a large bandage covering her left cheek. She holds herself stiffly, and certain movements make her wince and pause in her cadence. She has a hard time looking directly at the camera. ]

Good morning, people of Union. By the time you see this, it should be mid-morning. Most of you will already be back in town, probably just waking up. You all deserve a good night sleep, after everything that just happened.

Ceilto isn't here, it's just you and me. He's usually the one to make these kinds of announcements. I'm... not good at this kind of thing. Not the PR kind of girl, you know? Um.

[ Chewing on the inside of her lip, taking a deep, somewhat pained breath, Maeve pauses, looking conflicted. ]

I feel like it's time we came clean. About the Seekers, and about us. Some of you have probably already figured it out.

When Ceilto and I said we helped establish the Seekers to uncover the truth about certain civilizations, and to help raise awareness about the events of the past, that wasn't a lie. But there were some things we were keeping from you, like our intentions... and who we are.

It's probably easier if I just show you.

[ Closing her eyes, her form begins to fade away, revealing the red dragon that some had encountered either in the command center or on the battlefield. She appears much smaller than she was on the battlefield, retaining the same compact size that her former form held.

Much of her upper body and neck were bandaged, her once sleek body somewhat disheveled and battered from battle. She lowered her head, and while her mouth did not open, she still spoke. Her tone shifted, still apologetic, but somewhat more regal. ]

My brother and I have been known by a few names. Maeve and Ceilto. The Red and Blue Dragons of Eternity. Latias and Latios. But I don't want to talk about that past. Not right now. I believe you know how that story goes, anyhow. It isn't a happy one.

At first, the Seekers' purpose was to try to find our lost brothers and sisters. We have known about you, Union. We've known about you for a long time, even before you opened your walls to the outside world. Latios and I always meant to be neutral parties. That was everyone's intent at first, to not get involved unless we were directly threatened, or we felt it was necessary. We have been searching for the Gigases for a long time now, and at first, my brother and I came to Union because, somehow, your city seems to have the devil's luck. Maybe that's just Her way of watching over you, even now.

We knew that, if we were able to establish ourselves here in Union, as well as in the other settlements around your known world, and that if we kept our ears to the ground, that something would turn. But my brother and I never expected to become attached to this place, and the humans and pokémon who call it home. We could no longer stay neutral.

I suppose in some ways, you could say we've been taking advantage. Hate us if you must, neither my brother nor I will blame you. Our intentions have not always been for your direct benefit. Latios and I had no idea of the true scope of the Gigases persecution, or of the power propping up Gigas. If we had, we would not have asked your help. This isn't your battle. And... we don't want to see you get hurt. You are not like the humans of the past; my brother and I, along with many others, want to protect you.

But the world is cruel, and we prematurely pushed you into a battle that wasn't yours to begin with. Rebuke us if you want, neither of us would blame you for it, but know that we will make this right. We will save our friends, and we will
make this right. And we will continue to protect you, Union, if you will allow us. It goes beyond proving your difference from those who wronged us in the past. You're... our friends.

[ Averting her gaze further, she narrowed her eyes a bit, shuffling her wings awkwardly. ]

He was right, I'm really bad at this kind of thing...

In any case, we leave it up to you, Union. Turn us out if you feel it necessary, but you will still be under our protective wings, at least until this mess that we've helped make has been resolved. But we ask that you not lash out against the other Seekers, here or elsewhere. They were not made aware of our intentions, or of who we are. ...Thank you.

[ The feed cuts off shortly after that. ]

The battered Union column returned to the city under the cover of nightfall. The mood was somber, serious. Never before had the forces of Union failed to accomplish their aim. And yet, there was cause for relief, if nothing else. Though some grave injuries were inflicted, none among the Union forces had perished. That, if nothing else, was a victory.

And it wasn’t a complete failure. The Union forces had drawn the Emperor into battle, and had seen the extent of his power and had made contact with the gods. They had also revealed another truth - the Seekers, those claiming to be seeking the gods, were in fact lead from the shadows by the gods themselves. Rumors swirled around the city, as did awe that the gods had chosen them for a sacred task, as it were.

That wasn’t the only surprise to be had, however. The Gigan general Valeria arrived not two days later, under the cover of night. She spoke with the counsel, before making a general announcement. Her face and tone are as stern and sharp as ever.

“Greetings, people of Union. You’ve created quite the stir in my city, I must say. This “emperor” was… not especially well received you might say. We are an old nation, one that survived the cataclysm. We consider ourselves democratic, enlightened. That some old relic has emerged and claimed leadership hasn’t gone over the best, although the fool puppets in the senate are trying to get people to fall in line. Protests are all over Gigas, but in spite of that general mobilization has begun. It seems like you made an interesting impression, however, some citizens have come forward testifying that your people saved their lives. And in this age of social media, nobody can really quell those voices, lest of all the government.”

She clears her throat, and actually looks a bit amused.

“Things have gotten interesting. I guess I owe you some degree of thanks. You saved my people, and I joined the army to serve the people of Gigas, not a dying man in a tin can. I’ve brought something. A token, if you will. With that, consider my debt repaid. I expect when next we meet, it will be on the field of battle, and I expect it will come soon. Don’t disappoint me, Union. I hope we have a good battle.”

[Valeria has gifted Sceptilite, Blazikenite, and Swampertite to Union. All characters, regardless of Event involvement, may select one Mega Stone for themselves. Additionally, characters, as well as all Pokemon that took part in any Event log, will have their level raised to 70. IC conversations are open in this post]

True to their word the Seekers lead the teams discretely through the winding streets of Gigas and into service entrances, gaining them admittance into the heart of Gigas’s political compound. Bringing them stealthily along the catwalks, the Union infiltrators were brought to the inner sanctum, close to the captive Gigases and their mission.

Sharp-looking soldiers in fatigues holding machine guns patrolled diligently, although their demeanor was not especially tense. It seemed no immediate operations were taking place at this time as no engineers were present. And in their enormous cages, the Gigases slept. Waiting.

[OOC Notes: This upcoming event will not go live until June 5th, depending on the result of the votes. No matter what decision is made here, either will have a dramatic impact on the game and especially that of how the game will ultimately end. This is the first of several much larger events as we begin to wrap up major plot points that have been established since very early in the game, and expect the stakes to start getting higher as these events progress]

The feed flickers on to reveal a rather more serious looking Celito and Maeve. They exchange glances and nods, before Celito launches in.

“Hey everyone, Celito here. The Seekers have convened and have issued a directive. If at all possible, it is our duty to free the gods imprisoned by Gigas and return them to their natural state. Unfortunately, with the resources of the Seekers being dedicated to research, this is essentially impossible for us to achieve on our own. So, we’ve come to Union with a proposal. Right now, we have a fairly good idea of the defenses of Gigas, but as we understand we cannot rely on them to remain unchanged for very long, Gigan military is highly professional and they change patterns and routines regularly. I expect it’d be especially true with the Gigases. Right now may be the only opportunity we have to break in and free the Gigases. We don’t come to ask this lightly. We are asking the Union Alliance to join us in liberating the Gigases. We have brought this proposal to your Council and they have authorized us to proceed - if the will of the people will support it. We’re asking for your help, we need to free the Gigases and we can’t wait for another chance. Please, will you help us?”

Giving her brother a nod, Maeve directs her attention to the feed again.

“This is probably a once-in-a-lifetime chance, but it isn’t gonna be easy. There’s a lot that could go wrong here.” Averting her eyes from the camera, Maeve purses her lips into a frown. “We can’t do this by ourselves. We need your help going forward, but we understand if something like this seems too dangerous. Union’s done its best to stay impartial for the most part, but that might not be the case if you help us. Think about that before saying yes.”

[OOC: Voting is live as of now. The question: will the Union Alliance proceed with the attack on Gigas and attempt to liberate the Gigases? This could very well cause an international incident with Gigas, but as stated, another chance will likely not come again. It’s now or never. OOC discussion and IC discussion threads are open, only 1 vote per player please. As before, votes will generally be weighted with the assumption that PCs are in the streets advocating their position. As a reminder, the vote you cast should be your OOC opinion: do you want to go forward with attacking Gigas and freeing the Gigases, or do you want to leave Gigas alone and allow the Gigases to remain trapped, perhaps for good.]

While Union was happy to agree to a ceasefire with Gigas and treat with them in earnest, it seems the Seekers have held some suspicions of the great Empire for awhile now. And thus, enlisting in the help of a few hand-picked Union agents, they stole into the deepest vaults of Gigas, hoping to recover items of great power and learn the truth about the city’s purported guardian gods.

The City of Gigas is unlike anything the people of Union have ever seen before. The city is immense, a sprawling metropolis that covers the land as far as the eye can see. Built up primarily around enormous centralized towers, unlike Union these towers are dark concrete buildings, covered in glass windows. The buildings seem to serve any number of functions, and have a startling variety in construction, style, and even size, creating a unique skyline that is breathtaking to behold. The city is connected with roads of asphalt, upon which whiz smoke-belching steel carriages at frightful speeds, the engines (and piercing, constant horns) creating an ever-present din that engulfs the city in loud, chaotic sound.

“Downtown,” as the Gigans know it, is a huge collection of stores, apartments, and businesses. Apparently, the larger homes are built in Calderan-style but tend to be further from the main commotion of the downtown areas, of which Gigas citizens assure Union citizens that there are several, each with their own district name and culture. The technology is quite advanced as well, full color televisions are standard in every home and built in devices so slim and with such sharp images that they seem decades ahead of Union’s own technology. Pokemon are still quite present in Gigas, many people riding flying types and the buildings having huge perches to accommodate them. As with the vehicles below, however, Gigas seems to regulate air traffic to individual lanes and the birds seem well-trained as they convey their trainers to and fro.

Humans are just that, here, Human. No unusual shapes and sizes like the Enlightened and Earthkin of the Union Alliance, and those displaying unusual traits receive odd looks. Like many civilizations to the east, Battling is a common sport though in this place it’s more like the combat arenas of old. Several stadiums dot the cityscape, the sounds of Pokemon Battles and cheering crowds echoing for blocks all around, and it’s a stadium where humans are not welcome. Unless, of course, they want to make a show and spar against a Pokemon, of course.

This is Gigas, the City of Reclamation. Union civilians have free rein to explore this grand city as councillors are invited into the massive capitol building to negotiate with the Gigan leaders. Gigas civilians, for their part, are polite, friendly even. While many of them are caught in the bustle of their daily lives they regard Union citizens with interest and curiosity, willing to talk about their city, extolling its virtues while complaining about the noise, the crowds, the lines, and the expense all the while. One thing is clear though, the people of Gigas are proud of their city and their accomplishments. This is their home, and they are eager to show it off to the world.

The warriors of Union fought hard, and in the end, victory was their reward. Seeing the battle lost, the fanatics of the Elite Four fled into the night, those that were not killed or captured of course. Sveta was nowhere to be seen, nor was her mysterious companion, and as its rage was reaching its peak, the mighty Dragon simply vanished in a blaze of energy, recalled by its trainer but not before slamming the mysterious red dragon into another tower for good measure.

As quickly as they had come, the gods of Union vanished, leaving behind the ruined, devastated city. What was once panic has subsided to a quiet shock and horror as the dead and wounded are gathered and people try to find out what was damaged and if their family and friends are still among the living.

While the damage is great, the defenders of Union can take heart in the fact that it could have been much, much worse. The habitat suffered a major blow with a great hole blasted into it, but it is otherwise undamaged and salvageable. The forge likewise had one smithy station destroyed from a divine claw smite, but is otherwise unscathed. The signal tower took moderate damage from the initial attack, but it is reparable, given time. The biggest toll, however, is on that of the people. The Residential District, as well as parts of the Entertainment district lie in tatters. Several towers are gutted, and a few even fell completely, many of the citizens inside them trapped and unable to escape. In all, the death toll numbers around 700, with at least 1,000 wounded, and is expected to rise as rescuers desperately comb the wreckage in search of survivors. Never before has Union lost so many of its citizens, never before has such suffering and violence come to Union. People are afraid, they are angry, but, in the true spirit of Union, they are banding together. The City of Union has survived. But it will never be the same.

The battle is joined. The gods of Union, while mighty, seem to pale in comparison to the singular dragon of ice. Although they strive mightily to avoid damaging the city, already the mysterious blue dragon has been flung directly into a tower, earning itself a nasty gash over its eye, much to the dismay of the red dragon. While it has rejoined the fight, it is clear that the gods alone are not enough - the people of Union will have to step forward if they are to save their beloved city. The cries of the wounded and terrified citizens echo through the streets as the flames of battle rage. Now is the time - they must be stopped!

All across Union, its citizens prepared to ring in the Salvation holiday with cheer. Dedicated to their beloved Savior, many of the houses were decorated with garlands, ornaments and other fineries in preparation for this truly special holiday, and while it had been uncharacteristically cold the last few days, not a single flake of snow had fallen. Children eager to start the festivities the following day did their best to stay up in the hopes of possibly catching a glimpse of one of the Delibirds they saw the previous night. However, try as they might, the late night would get the better of them, and soon the city was asleep, nestled warm in their beds, dreaming of parties and presents, candies and cakes.

As they slept, the first snow began to fall, snowflakes silently dancing through the night sky, dusting rooftops and covering sidewalks in pearly white. It would seem that a Salvation miracle was at work in Union that night. The streets were empty, save for a young woman and Pokémon, scarcely visible even in the lamplights. Her steps made no sound, even in the accumulating snow, and she left no footprints, the strange Pokémon by her side taking the time to peer into every window.

Should anyone wake during this peaceful snowfall, they might find the young woman and her companion in their room, transparent as a fog, a placid smile on her face. She did not speak, but simply smiled warmly, almost maternally, before disappearing from view.

When dawn finally broke, the people of Union would find a simple gift within their home, rested alongside a familiar note. The snow from last night coated buildings, streets, and sidewalks, blanketing the city in white and shimmering in the gentle, early morning light.

[The battle was over and the god Reshiram defeated, driven away by the aid of Union and its allies. The city was safe, by and large, and as the news spread throughout the peoples of the tundra, they began streaming back into the settlement in droves. Dirty, ash-coated faces were filled with relief and gratitude when they saw that it wasn't just a rumor and that their home had indeed been spared. Not everyone was so lucky, but they'd weathered worse, of course. The people of Glacier endured, as they would always endure, and they were also a people that repaid their debts. And they most certainly all agreed that they owed their rescuers a debt.

So, as night fell after the battle, a great celebration was prepared in the center of Glacier. A wide square was cleared away in a matter of hours, and the people gathered what they could in a show of thanks. Tables of food, bonfires towering into the night sky to keep out the autumn chill, and throngs of cheering wellwishers lined the area. Warriors of glacier, men carrying swords and women all bearing axes offered enthusiastic handshakes and claps on the back. Music of all kinds was played, though tribal tunes full of horn and percussion, chanting and yodeling, and even some brass groups dominated the soundscape.

A platform for various elders was set up, and they offered speeches, of course...but those were somehow dwarfed by the presence of the divine beings that were waiting silently for the proceedings to end. Some of the gods that had come to the aid of the war parties had apparently decided to stay, though their reasons were as mysterious as they themselves. The humans would have their time, and the Servants would mingle freely throughout the evening.

Food, of course, is set out in piles. Meat, fish, arctic berries, and various pastries and the like line table after table. A smorgasbord of Glacier specialties, each with a new and unique flavor all their own, and some (such as the stew) possessing a smell that only a native could probably endure. Akutaq in particular seems to stand out among the worst offenders, but the Glacier natives seem rather fond of it, and offer it to their rescuers with great gusto.

And the rewards do not stop at simple meals. either. As the speeches begin to wind down, a woman some might find familiar walks up onto the stage carrying a singularly massive trunk and dropping it down onto the wood with a heavy thud.]

Southerners! You have done a great deed this day! We, the people of Glacier, would like to thank you and honor your sacrifice! Few would do as you have done, coming to the aide of strangers against the might of that dragon...and you have accomplished something we did not think possible. To that end, we would like to present you with the first of many gifts, a token of our gratitude and a promise that should you need it, we will come to your defense in a time of need!

[And then with a sharp kick, she cracks open the trunk and reveals a veritable treasure trove of three different stones to be distributed by her subordinates.]

Rest well, and enjoy the festivities! You are welcome here, for as long as you like! Eat, drink, and be merry within our halls!

The people of Union have descended into the besieged city, doing everything in their power to aid the citizens of Glacier yet remaining within. Whether struggling against the invaders seemingly loyal to the White Dragon, or seeking out the injured and lost in need of aid, they take advantage of several hours of relative calm to do all they can. And for a time, it seems to be working - the invaders are not so very strong after all, not against the experienced Unionites who have surpassed everything from human armies to memories of gods.

But perhaps the might of the two combined is an altogether different challenge.

GRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAH!

The sensation is felt throughout the whole of the city, the rumbling of the earth itself enough to take down the more unstable buildings in its wake. From any point, at any height, all eyes are drawn to the monstrosity that has descended in the blink of an eye into the still-burning town center. A great, white dragon... Exactly as described by those who had escaped from the city.

Those with sharp eyes will see that standing beside it, there seems to be a human figure.

Its sheer presence is overwhelming. The air around it ripples with an aura of heat, but felt even more keenly than that, there is a devastating sense of raw power and control. This being... this god could burn down the entire earth if it wished. A city of Glacier's relative size... What chance did it possibly have? That the world yet remains standing seems almost a mercy. Its size is immense, its bulk several times larger than that of a Wailord, its height almost seeming to rival the tallest towers of Union, though perhaps this is an exaggeration of the mind.

It takes a step forward, and the earth shudders once more in its wake.

All across the frozen city of Glacier, every individual carrying a Warp Band will suddenly feel the device activate of its own accord as a video feed begins to play. Attempting to turn it off fails, and changing it doesn't seem to work either. Something, or someone, has hijacked the feed and is using it for their own announcement.

A tall, severe looking man stares into the feed, his lone eye seeming to burn with an unnatural fire. And beside him, only its lower body visible, stands the feet of the White Dragon, its fur outlined in crisp detail from this distance. The man gazes steadily forward, eyes yet alight with passion.

"So, it seems that this place has found someone to come to its aid. No matter, our plans will not be disrupted by insects like you. Still, it's good to know that there are humans left that understand the value of kinship with our fellow inhabitants of this world. It brightens my day, you might say, to know that my men have been facing honorable opponents, and not weak cowards that still cling to the old ways.

A pity that when we're done here, we'll have to come for you next. I won't lie to you and say we'll show you mercy, but at least your deaths will be swift."

He smiles then, a thin and grave expression.

Every fiber of those remaining in the city screams to flee from this threat. There is nothing they can do - they must retreat. But though their minds may instinctively beg for such a course of action, to do so means to abandon its people to a fiery demise. Can they truly run from this?

They must choose quickly... and this time, it is not a choice concerning a rabid creature, an angered and wild animal lashing out. This cold and calculated destruction, sanctioned by a god itself, so reminiscent of what was said to have happened in the past. To oppose it, perhaps, means to steer the course of history into terrible new waters. Choose quickly, people of Union. What answer will you find?

((Reshiram is a Legendary, and thus, the normal rules will not apply. It will be able to strike through abilities that would seemingly protect people, and analysts will not be able to sense its weaknesses. It radiates an aura of power that will inspire fear and awe in those who see it. Please be warned that there is a definite chance of injury when attacking this creature; however, despite all this, it is possible to defeat it.

The rescuers have been allowed a night's rest following their arrival on the outskirts of Glacier. Though there is ample evidence of their enemy's presence in the form of burning buildings and ruined settlements, the creature itself appears to have wandered off briefly to wreak havoc in a different corner of the frozen tundra. Or perhaps it was taking a brief siesta following so much exertion - murder and destruction was tiring work. Whatever the case, it seems to be an opportune time to descend into the city and assist those remaining there.

If they are brave, they might even try to take back the city itself. But the primary goal, of course, is to save as many people as possible before the great dragon returned.

The few people of Glacier who had guided them this far point out the less-traveled paths by which it may be possible to enter the city unnoticed. It is determined that they will fan out in groups, both in search of survivors and in search of the companions of the dragon who had so effectively laid waste to the city. Perhaps they might still gain the upper hand.

((You may respond to your threads now! Not all the groups will have immediate mod starters going up, so feel free to initiate threading; a mod will step in as soon as possible. As usual, we will be tagging on a 24-hour basis whether or not all group members have tagged in.

When responding, please list the Pokemon your character is bringing with them.

While the final portion of this event will go up on Sunday, October 4th, please also feel free to continue tagging this portion of the log as these threads will almost certainly not be finished yet.))

For those remaining in Citadel, there is still ample work to be done. The Valkyrie tribes, after all, only congregate at the tree occasionally for their important meetings and congregations. There is scarcely enough food to support such a great influx in population. More and more arrive every day, staggering across the plains towards the enormous tree - thankfully, it is an easy enough landmark upon which to convene. The later arrivals appear more the worse for the wear, having attempted to stave off the invaders as long as possible. They sport various injuries, though the vast majority, of course, are terrible burns.

Their stories are confused. Some insist that the white dragon was hundreds of times as large as even the largest Pokemon, capable of flattening the entire city with a single footstep alone. Others scoff, saying that it is clear that the dragon is nothing more than an illusion created by the invaders; some sort of Psychic trick. No Pokemon of that sort exists in reality. All concede that the dragon and its companions seemingly had no demands apart from the complete destruction of Glacier... The speculative reason for this ranges from 'perhaps someone wants to steal our ice' to 'once we turned a stranger out of the city because he defaced one or the statues'.

Nobody is quite sure why a great white dragon would spontaneously appear out of the blue to raze Glacier to the ground.

Regardless of any of that, there's plenty to do. Gather food and resources, go out to the plains and tundra to assist those who are still straggling in, heal and care for the wounded, and help set up temporary lodgings.

((This log is for the players in Citadel to thread amongst ourselves! There will not be official mod threads here, so please feel free to control the refugees at your whims!))

[It's a lengthy journey even by air, that our intrepid heroes find themselves on. The veteran fliers set a quick, but not grueling pace at the suggestion of the Valkyries. Arriving to a battleground when a god had taken the field tired was not wise, they'd said, and who could really blame them? The prospect alone of facing down one of the beasts of legend would be enough to send most men fleeing in the opposite direction, but one who was working with a human? That was all the more reason to make sure that proper care was taken on the trek. And so for a day the party traveled, a caravan of birds, dragons, reptiles and the odd flying robot making steady time across the Rolling Plains before setting down at the north-eastern edge.

The curious would find that not far from where the tents were pitched, the green hills turned jagged, the land going from verdant to a sea of dark glass. Obsidian shards spiked upwards, spires gleaming in the moonlight like razor sharp teeth, setting an ominous tone for the evening's respite. Tents were pitched, fires were lit, and the more warlike companions even began a drum circle and dance. Valkyries and shirtless Calderan volunteers, a small number of visiting mages, and other more mysterious folks all curious to see the god and to help with the relief efforts. The camp, despite the circumstances, was at least a lively one.

And then came the final day.

Over the Obsidian Flats they went, the massive shapes of Boldore and Tyranitar visible even from up in the sky. And...further perhaps even more stunningly, a gigantic lake almost large enough to call an inland sea, sprawled out below. Rivers snaked out of it all around, and the water itself was a pure crystal blue. But perhaps the most awe inspiring sight of the whole journey came once they cleared the Flats and the area around Glacier came into view. An expanse of white, thick snow covering the ground this early in the year. Arctic forests cropped up here and there, snowcapped trees and a frigid looking river marring the perfect canvas beneath. And more Pokemon , of course. Gigantic Avalugg shook the ground below, and a new species plodded along, chewing amiably on the trees, largely unconcerned by the humans overhead, and the occurrences in the distance.

Along the coast a city was in flames, people streaming out of its ruined gates, desperately fleeing along the rivers before whatever it was came back. Smoke curled up along the skyline, burned hamlets and outlying settlements that'd already been destroyed.

It seems like they weren't too late, and it in the moment of respite there was a chance for our heroes to at least get their bearings and prepare for the Dragon God's return...]

[The Warp Band feed opens with the Matriarch’s impassive face looking slightly haggard]

Union, I have a problem and am in need of assistance. About two hours ago refugees just started streaming into the Citadel territory. They say they’re from a city called “Glacier” that is being ripped apart by a giant white Dragon god. Sounds like it’s something up your alley. I’m sending them your way, we should probably go take care of that before it makes it over here. If you guys want to help out, I’ll lend you some of our birds. My Valkyries are already heading over, I’m sending a few flights out to the other cities as well to see if they want to join the party. Let me know what you decide.

Oh, the refugee leader is a fellow named Birgir. I gave him a Warp Band so he can probably tell you more about the situation.

(OOC: Questions to the Matriarch and Birgir can be asked here, and general reactions can also be posted here.)
