The warriors of Union fought hard, and in the end, victory was their reward. Seeing the battle lost, the fanatics of the Elite Four fled into the night, those that were not killed or captured of course. Sveta was nowhere to be seen, nor was her mysterious companion, and as its rage was reaching its peak, the mighty Dragon simply vanished in a blaze of energy, recalled by its trainer but not before slamming the mysterious red dragon into another tower for good measure.

As quickly as they had come, the gods of Union vanished, leaving behind the ruined, devastated city. What was once panic has subsided to a quiet shock and horror as the dead and wounded are gathered and people try to find out what was damaged and if their family and friends are still among the living.

While the damage is great, the defenders of Union can take heart in the fact that it could have been much, much worse. The habitat suffered a major blow with a great hole blasted into it, but it is otherwise undamaged and salvageable. The forge likewise had one smithy station destroyed from a divine claw smite, but is otherwise unscathed. The signal tower took moderate damage from the initial attack, but it is reparable, given time. The biggest toll, however, is on that of the people. The Residential District, as well as parts of the Entertainment district lie in tatters. Several towers are gutted, and a few even fell completely, many of the citizens inside them trapped and unable to escape. In all, the death toll numbers around 700, with at least 1,000 wounded, and is expected to rise as rescuers desperately comb the wreckage in search of survivors. Never before has Union lost so many of its citizens, never before has such suffering and violence come to Union. People are afraid, they are angry, but, in the true spirit of Union, they are banding together. The City of Union has survived. But it will never be the same.

[Today when Rei addresses the Warp Band, it's in her most formal attire, her clothing perfectly pressed and everything about her as positively lovely as can be. It's important to her to present this face to Union, for both of them. And for her family name. She didn't care much about how her father perceived it, but she didn't want to make trouble within the Council either. It might make things harder on Ninetales Vale, and she couldn't have that. She had responsibilities, and she had her reasons, and to be honest? She wanted to look good for the announcement.

Clearing her throat, hands folded out of view, Rei speaks in a solemn voice.]

Good afternoon, everyone. This is Rei Hino, High Priestess of Hikawa Shrine and daughter-heir of Councilman Takashi Hino. I know it's been some time since I actually broadcast anything, but something happened to me a few days ago. I've been trying to process all of it, to sort out my thoughts. As many of you know, Ami Mizuno and I have been courting one other for some time now.

[She takes a breath, lets it out, and stares significantly at the camera.]

That chapter of our lives has now come to a close. We are no longer dating.

[Lowering her eyes, Rei smiles a wispy little smile and raises her hand to show off a ring.]

We are engaged to be married, and plan to do so within the next year. I want to thank each and every one of you for your support during our courtship, and for your continued support during the transition. It brings joy to my heart knowing that some of you took time out of your day to help her with her proposal plan.

[Her eyes flick up, her lips peeling back in the happiest smile she's ever given in any sort of public appearance. It's as much a dig at a certain someone as it is an expression of genuine delight.]

Thank you for listening, and Happy Salvation to all of you.

[Closing down the feed, Rei lets out a breath and awaits the inevitable flood of visitors, neighbors and callers. It's going to be a busy day.]

((ooc: Ami may threadjack threads here and there, and Rei can be found in Hikawa Shrine if you'd prefer in person interactions.))

All across Union, its citizens prepared to ring in the Salvation holiday with cheer. Dedicated to their beloved Savior, many of the houses were decorated with garlands, ornaments and other fineries in preparation for this truly special holiday, and while it had been uncharacteristically cold the last few days, not a single flake of snow had fallen. Children eager to start the festivities the following day did their best to stay up in the hopes of possibly catching a glimpse of one of the Delibirds they saw the previous night. However, try as they might, the late night would get the better of them, and soon the city was asleep, nestled warm in their beds, dreaming of parties and presents, candies and cakes.

As they slept, the first snow began to fall, snowflakes silently dancing through the night sky, dusting rooftops and covering sidewalks in pearly white. It would seem that a Salvation miracle was at work in Union that night. The streets were empty, save for a young woman and Pokémon, scarcely visible even in the lamplights. Her steps made no sound, even in the accumulating snow, and she left no footprints, the strange Pokémon by her side taking the time to peer into every window.

Should anyone wake during this peaceful snowfall, they might find the young woman and her companion in their room, transparent as a fog, a placid smile on her face. She did not speak, but simply smiled warmly, almost maternally, before disappearing from view.

When dawn finally broke, the people of Union would find a simple gift within their home, rested alongside a familiar note. The snow from last night coated buildings, streets, and sidewalks, blanketing the city in white and shimmering in the gentle, early morning light.

((OoC: This is a Salvation Mingle Log for all characters. There are decorations and the like in various squares for celebration around Union, so feel free to tag around!))

[Long time no see, Union. When the feed clicks on, there is one somewhat confused Hayato Ichimonji looking into the camera. He glances up to make a face and it's easy to see the gates of the City behind him. Goro the Marowak is dutifully on his shoulder while he heads further into the city.]

You folks sure know how to get into trouble after a guy leaves. Was I really gone that long? Yeesh.

[He looks back at the camera.]

I've been keeping up with most of it over the network but if anyone wants to give me the juicy details, please. I need to get caught up. Also!

If anyone has been wondering about Kazuya Taki, I just want to let you know he's been trapped in paperwork Hell thanks to the Battalion. If he doesn't drown he'll probably come back but he's hanging back in Caldera for now.

[Private to Fili and Kili]

I'm coming back if you guys didn't rent my room to anyone while I was gone. [That's mostly a joke.] You guys doing okay?

[The feed clicks on to a flurry of motion, and Honoka circles around her food cart, Unionomura☆. She looks different than the last time she was on the feed, both in demeanor and overall appearance. She now has a noticeable line across the bridge of her nose, extending out to a small pair of fuzzy wing-like adornments to either side of her head, and her pupils appear as slits like a cat's. She tries to look put off, but mostly just looks fondly happy, and maybe a little tired.]

Well it looks like I came back right around when everyone was heading off on some grand adventure without me, doesn't it? And here I thought evolving was a big deal.

[The statement is very plainly meant as a joke.]

But anyway!! The shop's open whenever everyone gets back, and I'll make sure to have a huge stock waiting. It's been ages!

[The battle was over and the god Reshiram defeated, driven away by the aid of Union and its allies. The city was safe, by and large, and as the news spread throughout the peoples of the tundra, they began streaming back into the settlement in droves. Dirty, ash-coated faces were filled with relief and gratitude when they saw that it wasn't just a rumor and that their home had indeed been spared. Not everyone was so lucky, but they'd weathered worse, of course. The people of Glacier endured, as they would always endure, and they were also a people that repaid their debts. And they most certainly all agreed that they owed their rescuers a debt.

So, as night fell after the battle, a great celebration was prepared in the center of Glacier. A wide square was cleared away in a matter of hours, and the people gathered what they could in a show of thanks. Tables of food, bonfires towering into the night sky to keep out the autumn chill, and throngs of cheering wellwishers lined the area. Warriors of glacier, men carrying swords and women all bearing axes offered enthusiastic handshakes and claps on the back. Music of all kinds was played, though tribal tunes full of horn and percussion, chanting and yodeling, and even some brass groups dominated the soundscape.

A platform for various elders was set up, and they offered speeches, of course...but those were somehow dwarfed by the presence of the divine beings that were waiting silently for the proceedings to end. Some of the gods that had come to the aid of the war parties had apparently decided to stay, though their reasons were as mysterious as they themselves. The humans would have their time, and the Servants would mingle freely throughout the evening.

Food, of course, is set out in piles. Meat, fish, arctic berries, and various pastries and the like line table after table. A smorgasbord of Glacier specialties, each with a new and unique flavor all their own, and some (such as the stew) possessing a smell that only a native could probably endure. Akutaq in particular seems to stand out among the worst offenders, but the Glacier natives seem rather fond of it, and offer it to their rescuers with great gusto.

And the rewards do not stop at simple meals. either. As the speeches begin to wind down, a woman some might find familiar walks up onto the stage carrying a singularly massive trunk and dropping it down onto the wood with a heavy thud.]

Southerners! You have done a great deed this day! We, the people of Glacier, would like to thank you and honor your sacrifice! Few would do as you have done, coming to the aide of strangers against the might of that dragon...and you have accomplished something we did not think possible. To that end, we would like to present you with the first of many gifts, a token of our gratitude and a promise that should you need it, we will come to your defense in a time of need!

[And then with a sharp kick, she cracks open the trunk and reveals a veritable treasure trove of three different stones to be distributed by her subordinates.]

Rest well, and enjoy the festivities! You are welcome here, for as long as you like! Eat, drink, and be merry within our halls!

[Unionomura, Honoka's cart shop of Calderan snacks, has been closed since the event, with a variance of signs hung from it apologizing for the prolonged absence. Some days, there was a basket of sweets with a note of "Take one!", other days there was no sign at all. Really, the Calderan girl had been abnormally scarce.]

[Today, she makes her reappearance, though not at her cart. She's sitting with her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hand when the feed pops on, though at first all anyone will see is a startled Pumpkaboo.]

Ah-- Kabocha no!

[She realizes the feed is on and looks. Well, startled. Caught. Uneasy.]

[Her hands immediately come to cover her cheeks, just under her eyes. It really only makes the slight differences to her more obvious. Her face, just under her eyes and down most of her cheeks, as well as her hands from about halfway between her wrist and elbows to her fingertips are smattered with pale, shimmering orange-and-pink scales. As she leans away from her Warp Band's feed, her fingernails turn slightly more opaquely white and elongate.]

Hold it steady Cubone!

[The video shakes uneasily at first, the Cubone doing his best to do just that. It takes a moment before the shaking stops, and the feed shows a fourteen year old Eevee shifter standing in the doorway of a house. She grins, bouncing on the balls of her feet, her ears twitching alongside her tail. An Azurill - nicknamed Serenity - stands at her side, looking up at Naomi. A month ago Naomi attempted to run away from home, no doubt causing quite the stir as her family looked for her.]

Hi everybody! It's me, Naomi, my Mama finally gave me my warp band back. 'nd y'know what that means?

[She giggles, throwing her arms out to her side and jumps forward on one foot.]

I. [She hops on both feet.] Am. [And one more time, crossing the threshold of her house on one foot, pumping her fists in the air as emphasis.] Free!

[Her arms pinwheel once her invisible game of hopscotch is done, and she plants both her feet on the ground, brushing off her yellow sundress and readjusting the giant bow that's wrapped around her neck.]

As the characters arrive, they will find what appears to be a rather deep cavern. Upon entering, the caverns are quite narrow, with twists and turns everywhere and different tunnels that all seem to be interconnected. As characters travel deeper within the caverns, reality around them will start to warp, they will start to see and hear things that aren’t necessarily there - images of old enemies, past failures, voices of condemnation, visions that strike at the soul and core of the characters. Once this begins, it will only increase in power and volume, demanding it be confronted, lest they be trapped within these caves forever.

[OOC: This event will run for a week. All characters who enter the caves will be subject to some of their deepest fears, darkest demons, and most abject failures. To overcome them, characters must help each other out, finding their purpose through strength of character and resolve to move forward. In general, these visions should require characters to come to grips with themselves. Illusory images and voices can and will appear and can take any number of forms, depending on what is most appropriate to a character. Additionally, characters may thread with each other and are encouraged to help each other out to overcome these personal demons. For those who wish to take part, they are able and encouraged to narrate their own personal demons, which will be on display for everyone who enters their thread. IC threads may be made in this post.]

[Action - Rolling Plains]

[Having grown up in a tall city like Union, seeing something as sprawling with space as the Rolling Plains is a wonderful thing for Right. The clear skies above, the beautiful meadows all around, and so many new (to him) Pokemon to meet and learn about! Especially those that are large enough to ride on, and aren't Rock types.

And after much convincing - and actual use of the bonding beam - Right finds himself sitting on top of a still-nervous Bouffalant. His other two new friends are with him as well - a Spinarak on his head, and a Buneary plopped down in front of him who's sniffing that lovely big tuff of hair. His full attention, however, is on the bovine Pokemon as he comfortingly patted the Pokemon's front flanks.]

See? Nothing to be scared about. I'm not gonna eat you; just ride you when I get tired of walking all over the place. And the same can be said for all my friends back in Union--

[Unfortunately, it's just around that moment that the Buneary couldn't resist the urge any longer. He simply must chew on that lovely fro of wonderful hair! *Nibble-nibble-chomp!*

And as soon as the Bouffalant felt and heard that, she immediately started bucking all over the place, bellowing about how she's going to be eaten and oh my Gods getoffmegetoffmegetoffme!!

...maybe Right needs someone to help calm the poor thing down, before he gets bucked off of her.]

Video
[A little later, Right's face pops up on the Warp Band network, looking rather torn.]

Hey, guys! Um, quick question. Have you ever had to deal with a Pokemon who's got an irrational fear? Any kind fear? The reason why I'm asking is that, well...

[The feed shifts to show a certain Bouffalant cowering in fear...behind a skinny little tree.]

I think Betsy doesn't like being around humans - she thinks that we all want to eat her, which is kinda crazy. You don't eat the Pokemon you wanna be friends with. But I really wanna bring her home and show her that there's humans who don't wanna eat her. [A sigh.] It's terrible enough that she's gonna have to live in the Habitat instead of at the theater, but I don't want her cooped up in there all the time. So, any help on that point would be great.

Hey, city. Everyone still winding down after that battle? I'm still not quite sure what to make of it, but I guess we'll see what happens.

[That sounded more like a shitty attempt as small talk more than anything.]

So! Day of Fire is coming up! I don't know if you Unionites have ever heard of it, but that's what we call the summer solstice in Caldera. It's a lot of fun. It's basically just one huge party all throughout the night with dancing and singing and the Throwing of the Colors. You guys should go check it out, you won't regret it.

[His smile is much more genuine this time, at least. It honestly looks like he's got a secret he won't tell. Mostly its that he hopes Union comes and they are delighted and aghast at literally everything that transpires for this holiday. But also he feels like you guys need to lighten up and have fun. It's with that he ends the feed.]

[Action, near Downtown. OPEN]

[Hayato was never a guy who stayed at home. He could always be found out doing something.]

[This time it looks like he's trying to train one of his pokemon. He's crouched down with an Aron in front of him. In front of the Aron is two things- a small pile of scrap metal and a nice looking dagger of some kind.]

Okay. So, let's go over this again. This [He gestures to the scrap] is NikonFood. This? [He points to the weapon.] Is not food. It is Thorin's livelihood. We do not eat Thorin's livelihood okay?

[Nikon the Aron nods.]

Now, what do you eat?

[Nikon goes for the scraps! Hayato sighs in relief and just as he's about to congratulate him on being good he looks down to see the Aron has also started munching on the dagger. He sputters.]

[Action; Hikawa Shrine (backdated to 6/9)]

[ Eli had been cooking up something for quite some time now. It was hard not to notice, with much of her time outside of work taken up by "other important things," as the blond put it. Nozomi was smart, she had an idea of what it could be, but somehow in her own mind she came up with reason for that to not be the case.

Her birthday wasn't really that important. It was just another day, after all. She would probably work the shop, maybe pick up a cake for everyone to share with dinner. It would be somewhat business as normal.

But that morning, she was woken up with a kiss and directions to get dressed. They were going somewhere. The shop would be taken care of. Confused, she put on a new dress and went along with Eli's grand plan.

It became clear that she was being led to the Hikawa Shrine, but still somewhere in her mind she came up with reasons other than the obvious. Rei needed her for something, and called on Elichi instead. Was there some sort of event going on? Was Rei out maybe? That was the most common reason for her to help out. Rei's grandfather was getting up there in years, and while he would never admit it himself, there were times when he needed help as his granddaughter went traveling with Ami and Makoto.

Needless to say, she was none the wiser.

The shrine seemed relatively the same as it always did on the outside. The surprise was waiting inside. ]

Various parts of Union; Open to All

[Right is glad to be back home, after all that has happened. Sure, he helped free the Council of the Magi, and that's a good thing to be proud of. And yet, the mess regarding the Homuculi is just so Gods-awful and so frustrating, that he didn't really wanted to stick around Sanctuary for very long after finding out.

But he is back in Union now, which means spending time with all of his Pokemon friends that were left back home. So, one can easily see him hanging out with a two or three of his Pokemon at a time in various parts of Union, just laughing and playing and just doing things together. Those who know him will see, though, that his hair's a bit fluffier than normal. Not to mention the addition of small Fairy-esque wings sprouting from between his shoulder blades...]

Action - Unionomura; locked to Honoka

[If there's one human that he's been looking forward to seeing again upon his return, outside of his family, it's Honoka. It's strange, but he's missed being in her company, after getting used to visiting her cart on a near-daily basis. Anytime he's had a quiet moment to himself during the treks to and from Sanctuary, his thoughts strayed to her - especially while he's been munching on the sweets she gave him from before he left. Granted, he missed his other friends and his family, too...but this is a little different kind of missing someone. He can't put a finger on it.

Still, as soon as he got his clothes re-tailored to accommodate for his new wings, he heads right over to Unionomura, Tamago and Kisetsu in tow.]

Today, however, Right's out with his faithful Lucario, Soft Steel. Only...they're not just chatting and soaking up the sun. It probably doesn't help that he's constantly shifting in his chair, or that he appears to be more full of energy than usual.]

3) Union Market Area

Anastasia~! [Right whines as he's trailing behind his Mankey, carrying boxes and bags full of Pokemon food - most of it very high-end stuff.] Can't you just mix in some of the normal stuff?

Mankey-key! [Don't be ridiculous! I'm not gonna be left stuck eating some normal treats! Anastasia snorts in contempt at a pile of "common" (yet very juicy-looking) apples before hopping over to the stall full of tropical fruit.]

Veni-veni? [At least I don't need to be picky to look pretty, right? The Venipede inquires from her perch on top of Right's head.]

Thankfully, yeah. You're still cute no matter what you eat, Claudia. [Right grins reassuringly...and then sighs as he's called over by the pig-monkey to buy even more expensive food for the latter. [ A few seconds after this goes up. ]

I've been thinking. Practicing around Union is good, but I think that we would be a lot better if we get used to performing in different places. After all, if we do performances in the same place, then they won't be as exciting for our fans. We need to vary it up.

[ She smiles sweetly at the camera. A bit too sweetly. ]

We should go somewhere warm, so we can keep our endurance up. If we aren't able to keep going just about anywhere, then we won't be able to give good performances, right? I know Elicchi and Umi would agree with me.

[ She's practically beaming at this point. ]

So that's why I say we all go out to the island! The fresh air and the ocean breeze will do everyone some good, and it'll be fun! I've already got somebody to cover the shop for me, too. We can go as soon as tomorrow if everybody agrees.

[ And you should. They can "practice." On the beach, with the nice white sand, warm sun, and refreshing ocean.

Surely this isn't an excuse for a leisure trip.

Certainly Nozomi has no intentions of skirting practice for having an outing on the beach with her friends. The thought had never crossed her mind more than a few dozen times.

Okay, so maybe she wants to play on the beach and show off her new swimsuit from Caldera. IS THAT REALLY SO BAD? ]

Hi everybody, Nozomi here~

Spring is finally here. Winter felt really long, with everything that went on, but hopefully now everybody can relax. All of the flowers are coming up, and there are a lot of cute, baby pokémon around the habitat too! That's what spring is about, right?

You know, I think I remember reading something about a festival in a book once. Apparently people believed that a pokémon with long ears and a bushy tail used to hand out candy eggs in baskets to children. People forgot about where the actual holiday came from, but from what I understand, the long-earred pokémon might have had something to do with an old fertility god from the past.

[ She smiles a bit too cheerfully. ]

I thought it was an interesting story, so in honor of that, I'll be having a sale on certain related items around my shop! You'll have to stop in and see what's on sale, though; I don't want to ruin the surprise. I promise you won't be disappointed, especially if you share them with someone you like~

[Action | Etteilla]

[ Come to check out the sale? The store, located in Ninetales Vale, is decked out in egg and "long-earred pokémon" decorations. Pictures of lopunnies, wigglytuffs, azumarills and others are scattered throughout the store.

It's unclear what the sale items she's advertising are. You'll just have to ask! ]
