[The Warp Band comes on to show a dignified and calm looking young woman. Some might recognize her, but she doesn't waste time in introducing herself and the purpose of her video.]
For those who do not know me, I am Mitsuru Kirijo. While my grandfather serves on the council, it is not in that capacity that I speak to you today. Many of you may know that my family's company, the Kirijo Group, spends a significant amount of time and money on charitable efforts, both for the welfare of those less fortunate and other things like the arts.
In light of recent circumstances, the Kirijo family as a whole feels that we as citizens should step up to help the recent newcomers. I understand if there is some reluctance on the parts of those who had to engage with the Enhanced individuals, but we are a city filled with good and kind people. It would do us no disservice to step forward to assist them in their time of need.
My family is offering to donate one million dollars from our personal funds should the council agree to letting the Enhanced stay for the building of the facilities needed. We know that it is nowhere near enough. We are urging others to donate what they can, however large or small that is, and to let the council know that you are for allowing our city to grow even more. We are willing to donate more once we are absolutely sure that this has passed. Everyone's cooperation is greatly appreciated in this matter.
[She takes a deep breath before smiling softly, feeling just a little pleased with how easily this speech has come to her without notes.]
If you have any questions, please feel free to address them to myself. I am more than willing to answer them to the best of my ability.
