Soulfasting Concert for Charity

What: A Soulfast-themed charity concert and dance

Where: The Tycoon family estate
Summary: Lenna is hosting a charity event to benefit Union's poor and homeless population, along with refugees from war-torn communities outside Union's walls and people who are moving into the city but need some help while they get on their feet.  The entire city is invited, and donations are not required but are strongly encouraged in the form of Lenna smiling and making big moe eyes at everyone as they enter until they do.

[It's the beginning of the Soulfasting holiday, and despite the complications with Cresselia and Darkrai, Lenna has miraculously managed to pull together the final preparations for her charity event at the last minute.  The party itself is being held at the Tycoon mansion in the noble quarter, and the doors have been opened for any and all who wish to come and make merry.

The spacious foyer of the house has been set up with numerous tables with food and drink for the various attendees, plenty of room for dancing and mingling, and of course a large stage at the front of the room set up for Rin and Len Kagamine - Lenna's roommates and the headline performing act of the night.  There are donation boxes situated around the room, and Lenna will also be accepting larger donations personally so that she can secure them elsewhere in the house.

And because of the time of year, there is also a table set up with plenty of Pokemon-themed masks for people to wear, with a fancy sign hand written in calligraphy: 'Courtesy of the Tatsumi Gallery.'  Lenna herself is wearing a short red party dress with matching heels, greeting everyone as they enter and more or less just buzzing about making sure everyone is having a good time.]

[Well, after working like a maniac trying to make or organize his own family's contribution to the event, Kanji can't not show up... looking probably the smartest he ever has - is that an actual suit on him? Quite nicely tailored, too, with sleeves cut wide to cover the spikes at his wrists. A Houndoom-themed mask pushed up off his face for the moment finishes it all off.

A spot awkward in all this fancy stuff, he stops by as he walks in, on his way to check just what they've done with his work -]

[So long as she doesn't feel guilty looking at the other donations, Maya as head of Kurain has enough to make a small donation on the part of the school. (Thank the savior, because she'd avoid it otherwise; it isn't like many of the people she knows are attending.)

She's in the kimono she used to wear, because, well. There isn't much else she has to wear to something like this-- it's not really a traditionalist scene. But she's here to see Lenna, and to act as a good leader, so she has to make sure she actually gets to talk to Lenna tonight.]

[Lucina arrives, in her normal traveling/battle gear, cleaned and repaired to the best of the refugees abilities. Cape pressed, dents and scratched in the armor pieces fixed and repainted, cracked and scuffed leather straps replaced. They may not have had much, but the former Ylisseans wanted to make certain their Lady could make the best impression possible. Noble, blade polished, is belted at her side, and Grace follows behind.]

It's nice to finally meet you in person, Lena. I hope it's alright that I'm a little under-dressed.

[Yakumo was coming as a representative of the Tsukamoto family, a small but rather wealthy little clan that had made quite a lot of money by owning several well-liked restaurants, gradually branching out into other kinds of trade. She'd received a request from her father to attend, a simple letter, along with permission to give a fairly sizable donation. She'd added to that with her allowance, and dressed up in a nice blue kimono.

Slipping into the door, she makes her way towards Lenna with an air of grace, if not a lot of confidence. She's not sure, even if she has heard of Lenna's family...]

Kagamine Twins' Concert

[This thread is for Rin and Len to play their set throughout the night, but also for people to cheer them on!]

[The twins are looking properly spooky tonight. On stage, Rin is in a mismagius hat and cloak, and Len has a drowzee mask and a fancy bow tie, and behind them are their new dream world pokemon, a Drowzee and a Pumpkaboo. Smiling for the crowd, they wave and talk in unison.]

Thank you for coming to the charity ball! Everyone, have fun dancing and donate a lot, okay!? Now, it's Radio Candy!

[The concert starts off with a peppy tune, which seems to be about Candy - befitting at least one aspect of Soulfasting, though the verses in between may call to mind the darkness of amnesia. Nevertheless, the twins jump around happily, filling the room with energy. Once Radio Candy draws to a close, Len takes center stage and folds one arm over his chest as he bows to the crowd.]

And now for... [He lifts his head, his lips parting into a cheeky grin.] Len Kagamine's solo section!

[Straightening up and tapping his hat, he winks and flourishes his cane.] A Love Story of a Certain Bakeneko!

[The song is actually quite solemn despite Len's introduction. It tells the tale of a bakeneko who fell in love with a human, taking the form of the woman's deceased lover in order to comfort her. The dance that accompanies it is appropriate solemn, with Rin and Len acting the parts of the woman and bakeneko respectively. There's no happy ending in this song, and once it's finished Len turns his back to the stage and walks towards the back, allowing Rin her chance in the spotlight. Rin looks out at the crowd for a moment as she grips the mic, then waves her hand a bit.]

Ok, ok, wipe your tears everyone - with my next song it's time to get really into the festivities! Happy Soulfasting!

[The song is just as you might expect from the title - a cute, fun, and only a little bit spooky song about trick-or-treating ghosts. Rin dances energetically at center stage with her pumpkaboo, and in the long instrumental part it uses the move "trick or treat" to give her the ghost type - which she uses to do all kinds of fun dance ghost tricks, such as jumping right through her backup dancer, Len, and making a silly face as he screams. The effects disappear in time for the next verse, though, which must surely have taken some practice as she fades back into a more corporeal form to finish her song and dance.

The concert continues into the night after this, with spooky songs you may have heard before earlier in the week, a song called Labyrinth that appears to have drawn on recent experiences, and many more Soulfasting themed songs on into the night. Just like a regular concert, it'll be a few hours until they take their final bows. Until then, enjoy the music to your heart's content! Once they finally leave the stage, Len's Drowzee stays after to put on a little magic show. ]

She felt like a piece of meat with her legs and other areas exposed like this. And yet, there she was, hovering around the dance floor where she would be noticed the most--mostly on directions of her mother, so she told herself. Although she was starting to get antsy and, finally divorcing herself for the wall, began to walk away.

[ Haruka's wearing one of the theater costumes tonight - she'd originally planned on one of her normal, less ornate tuxedos, but Natto had laid it out for her and ironed it and prepared a fancy corsage and everything. This is a Soulfasting party, right? he'd reasoned. And Soulfasting means costumes.

So she's dressed like a general out of a storybook and glittering enough to rival the light fixtures. Mingling just to chat's no fun. Does anyone here look like they want to dance? ]

[Yakumo is a bit of a wallflower, seated at a table near the dance floor in a long, blue kimono. Periodically, she looks out somewhat longingly. She's not willing to go alone...but she would probably like to dance.

Of course, the object of her affection is somewhat...clueless, and may not even notice, so feel free to tug her out there...]

[Standing over at the food table is Len still dressed up in his holiday appropriate Trickster outfit with a matching Drowzee-themed mask. The concert's come to a close by now, but he hasn't bothered to change back into his usual clothes just yet. He was still reeling with excitement and exhaustion after singing a whole concert for charity (but mostly for exposure)!

Now it was time to recharge and pig out exclusively on junk food.] It's true what they say...free food tastes better! Hehe. ♫

General Mingle

[For those of you who don't want to dance, there's definitely plenty of socializing to be done as well.]

[ To say Katarina didn't care for events like this would be a severe understatement.

Still, she understands power and political pull just as she understands the importance of showing face. With Cass previously indisposed (doing what, Katarina couldn't say), Katarina is left attending the charity alone, staying close to the edges of the foyer, a goblet of wine in hand and a Haunter-themed party mask adorning her face. While she knows her countenance is plenty enough to keep people at bay, she enjoys the anonymity that the mask provides her, her eyes scanning the people milling about.

Taking another sip from her glass, she makes a face as the rest of the wine drains from it. She's feeling warm and light, which takes a nice edge off of things regardless of the state of her empty glass and her distaste for social functions, an a light smile graces the corners of her lips as she watches several couples moving along the dancefloor, her back bumping against the wall before she settles into a shady, inconspicuous spot. ]

[Mind, anyone who accepts the free pumpkin will probably find it missing before the night is over. Rin's trying to give away pumpkins that her pumpkaboo stole and filled her room with, but the little guy will most likely end up stealing it again. He's on a mission.]
