Soulfasting Concert for Charity

What: A Soulfast-themed charity concert and dance

Where: The Tycoon family estate
Summary: Lenna is hosting a charity event to benefit Union's poor and homeless population, along with refugees from war-torn communities outside Union's walls and people who are moving into the city but need some help while they get on their feet.  The entire city is invited, and donations are not required but are strongly encouraged in the form of Lenna smiling and making big moe eyes at everyone as they enter until they do.

[It's the beginning of the Soulfasting holiday, and despite the complications with Cresselia and Darkrai, Lenna has miraculously managed to pull together the final preparations for her charity event at the last minute.  The party itself is being held at the Tycoon mansion in the noble quarter, and the doors have been opened for any and all who wish to come and make merry.

The spacious foyer of the house has been set up with numerous tables with food and drink for the various attendees, plenty of room for dancing and mingling, and of course a large stage at the front of the room set up for Rin and Len Kagamine - Lenna's roommates and the headline performing act of the night.  There are donation boxes situated around the room, and Lenna will also be accepting larger donations personally so that she can secure them elsewhere in the house.

And because of the time of year, there is also a table set up with plenty of Pokemon-themed masks for people to wear, with a fancy sign hand written in calligraphy: 'Courtesy of the Tatsumi Gallery.'  Lenna herself is wearing a short red party dress with matching heels, greeting everyone as they enter and more or less just buzzing about making sure everyone is having a good time.]

I'm doing good... well... good enough now that last week is over, all things considered.

[ There's a huff on Usagi's face, one that looks a little too playful for her normal expression... mainly because she'd rather not think about everything that's happened in the past two weeks, for better or for worse. ]

Is it just you here tonight? [ She'd be really surprised if Rei was here, but, she has to ask anyway. ]

Mm, I am definitely in agreement there. [Despite the few events he was thankful for, he is definitely glad it's over with. Yeesh.]

[He nods to her question.] It is. Rei sent along a donation from the shrine but she decided not to come. [There's more to it than that, but that was Hino family business.]

She's probably really busy with the rest of the festival too, so it's probably better for her.

[ She's pretty sure that there's more to it than that, considering this was a more noble party get together than anything else. But, Usagi doesn't press the issue, because it really wasn't any of her business. It'd be her business if Rei's nightmare came to pass, however! That's a fact. ]

You know, this is the first time I've gotten to talk to you... like you you! [ Usagi blinks, realizing that what she just said probably sounds really weird, so she quickly tries to explain herself. ] Like, I saw your face when everyone's body switched out, and having to talk to a big huge inky dark pokemon god isn't really a good place to have a conversation.

[ Sorry, Eiji. Usagi's a rambler. ]

She's worked very hard on the preparations! All of Ninetales Vale has. I work at Etteilla with Nozomi and we've spent weeks getting ready for it, ourselves. [The festival was a much better subject! What he also doesn't say is that he's semi-on the look out for his own immediate family so that if they DO show up, he's high-tailing it out of there.]

[He blinks a bit, laughing somewhat sheepishly and nodding.]

It isn't, but I've heard a lot of things about Usagi-san from Rei, so its especially nice to finally meet you.

Really? She's said a lot about me? Ehe~ I hope it wasn't anything too bad.

[ D'aww. Look at that modest blush on her face. People who didn't matter were never mentioned from Rei, so, the fact that she's been talking about a lot was very humbling. ]

It's good to meet you too! [ It's then that Usagi blinks as she just replays the last thing that Eiji has said, and she raises her hand up and waggles a finger playfully in front of Eiji. ]

You don't have to call me Usagi-san, you know! That makes me sound old...

[ And last time she checked, Rei had told her that Eiji was the older cousin, so... ]

[He shakes his head.] Not at all! Rei has always spoke of you as a very important friend.


[He's smiling until he abruptly sputters. Okay, he just kind of defaults back to whatever sounds the most polite, he did not mean to call her old.]

A-Ah, sorry! I didn't mean- would you prefer Usagi-chan?

[ And the sputtering gets Usagi to giggle. Why? Because it's funny and it's kind of cute. She's never going to say that to anyone. That'd be embarrassing as well as awkward. ]

Yes! That's definitely much better!

[ Yes. Much more friendly. Well, now that that was taken care of, Usagi just turns to face the dance floor with a much more positive attitude than she had earlier. As she does, the music on the dance floor changes to something a bit more upbeat and more people start filing out to cut a rug... ]

Everyone looks like they're having a fun time!

[ She's trying to not make it obvious that her spike in good mood makes her want to join everyone on the dance floor... but she's not doing a good job of looking like she wants to go out there... ]

Usagi-chan it is, then! [At least she didn't seem actually offended. That was good.]

[He falls into silece as the music changes, watching the people file out onto the dance floor. He smiles.]

It does.

[Sorry, he's kind of dumb. You're going to have to be direct with him if you want a dance.]

[ It's okay. She hasn't decided that she's going to drag Eiji out there until....


... right...


........ Now! ]

Then let's go join them!

[ She's caught up in having fun, that she doesn't exactly think about it as she reaches to grab his arm and drag him out to the dance floor. ]

Come on~! After the past two weeks, we deserve a bit of fun!

[Yeah, Eiji is not at all expecting that. When she grabs his arm he starts and looks at her just in time to get dragged to the dance floor. He sputters impressively now that he's found himself amidst a bunch of other couples dancing.]

[Um.]

[Um??????]


[!!?!?!???]

Ah... I see. Usagi-chan wants to dance. [Oh god what does he do. He hasn't danced since he was still kind of a noble??? It was years ago? He swallows.]

[Okay. Hino. You have braved the wilds of the Verdant Forest. You have survived conflict with Gigas. You have traversed plains unknown to man. You can dance with a pretty girl.]

[Usagi, please help this idiot.]

[ Usagi drags them to their destination, a clear spot that's not exactly on center, but near by, when she finally looks at Eiji's bewildered face. ]

Of course I do! I just said so, didn't I?

[ Still, she's going to take it slow since it looks like a deer in the headlights. .... At least, slow for her. What does that constitute? Giving him a few seconds to try and gather himself before she just unceremoniously places his hands in the proper places and nudges him to start moving. ]
