Soulfasting Concert for Charity

Summary: Lenna is hosting a charity event to benefit Union's poor and homeless population, along with refugees from war-torn communities outside Union's walls and people who are moving into the city but need some help while they get on their feet.  The entire city is invited, and donations are not required but are strongly encouraged in the form of Lenna smiling and making big moe eyes at everyone as they enter until they do.

[It's the beginning of the Soulfasting holiday, and despite the complications with Cresselia and Darkrai, Lenna has miraculously managed to pull together the final preparations for her charity event at the last minute.  The party itself is being held at the Tycoon mansion in the noble quarter, and the doors have been opened for any and all who wish to come and make merry.

The spacious foyer of the house has been set up with numerous tables with food and drink for the various attendees, plenty of room for dancing and mingling, and of course a large stage at the front of the room set up for Rin and Len Kagamine - Lenna's roommates and the headline performing act of the night.  There are donation boxes situated around the room, and Lenna will also be accepting larger donations personally so that she can secure them elsewhere in the house.

And because of the time of year, there is also a table set up with plenty of Pokemon-themed masks for people to wear, with a fancy sign hand written in calligraphy: 'Courtesy of the Tatsumi Gallery.'  Lenna herself is wearing a short red party dress with matching heels, greeting everyone as they enter and more or less just buzzing about making sure everyone is having a good time.]

I hadn't realized that my mother was watching.

She's convinced that I will find someone to endear myself to and eventually marry at these parties, and expects me to dance and socialize like a giddy teenage girl.

[Before he gets a chance--]

Don't look, she'll know that we are talking about her. That woman has uncanny hearing.

Do you not like dancing? It seems a good place to do it.

It's not that, I enjoy it quite a bit. But it can be hard finding a willing partner when you are as tall as I am.

[master_tactician]

Well, I can't exactly provide the proper height but I would be happy to dance with you, if you would have me.

[Cordelia turns a bit pink, although she tries her best to hide it.]

I would love to! I mean, I would enjoy that very much, if you'll have me.

Of course! I'm not much of a dancer but I think I can manage. More or less. Shall we?

[She brightens up.]

All right. Lead the way.

[Robin offers his hand and leads her out to the dance floor. He's definitely got some knowledge of the more classic styles but the steps are odd. A bit different. Definitely not the same as in Union]

[Cordelia is exceptionally graceful, and while she seems confused at first with the odd dance, she manages to fall into step quite quickly.]

You dance well, do you do this often?

[aerial_ace]

Not as often as I would like. I taught my cousins how to dance, and I'll admit I'm a bit rusty. When you're as tall as I am, very few people want to dance with you. It's much more difficult to lead someone that towers over them as I do.

I don't recognize the dance you were doing. I doubt you remember where you may have learned it.

[master_tactician]

Quite correct. But I'm not one to let a lack of knowledge get in the way of a fun new experience.

I'm just glad that I could keep up. You're quite the dancer yourself.

[master_tactician]

That's actually something of a pleasant surprise. I was a bit worried I would be awful. Or clumsy. Or possibly both.

I had no doubt that you would be an at least passable dancer.

I must say you are quite a lovely dancer yourself. Who taught you, if I may ask?

[She smiles sweetly.]

Thank you. My father and mother did. My father is the only one taller than I am that I could practice with, and my mother is a beautiful dancer.

I don't doubt. You certainly inherited her grace.

[She blushes quite a bit at the compliment.]

So I must say, I'm not entirely familiar with these kinds of parties. What does one do, precisely?

Any number of different things. Mostly, noble families socialize with one another, but there is also dancing as you can see as well as food and drinks. They can happen for any number of reasons--birthdays, holidays, or charitable benefits like this one.
