Soulfasting Concert for Charity

What: A Soulfast-themed charity concert and dance

Where: The Tycoon family estate
Summary: Lenna is hosting a charity event to benefit Union's poor and homeless population, along with refugees from war-torn communities outside Union's walls and people who are moving into the city but need some help while they get on their feet.  The entire city is invited, and donations are not required but are strongly encouraged in the form of Lenna smiling and making big moe eyes at everyone as they enter until they do.

[It's the beginning of the Soulfasting holiday, and despite the complications with Cresselia and Darkrai, Lenna has miraculously managed to pull together the final preparations for her charity event at the last minute.  The party itself is being held at the Tycoon mansion in the noble quarter, and the doors have been opened for any and all who wish to come and make merry.

The spacious foyer of the house has been set up with numerous tables with food and drink for the various attendees, plenty of room for dancing and mingling, and of course a large stage at the front of the room set up for Rin and Len Kagamine - Lenna's roommates and the headline performing act of the night.  There are donation boxes situated around the room, and Lenna will also be accepting larger donations personally so that she can secure them elsewhere in the house.

And because of the time of year, there is also a table set up with plenty of Pokemon-themed masks for people to wear, with a fancy sign hand written in calligraphy: 'Courtesy of the Tatsumi Gallery.'  Lenna herself is wearing a short red party dress with matching heels, greeting everyone as they enter and more or less just buzzing about making sure everyone is having a good time.]

[At least she was able to adjust and adapt her own pace to his. It was enough for him to feel relieved, because at least he was helping her not be a fool at this kind of function. In truth, it was all beyond him...

But, she was right. This part wasn't so bad.]

Yeah, it is. [He spun her around, still keeping pace with the tempo despite his awkward footing.] I'm definitely glad I'm here with a friend instead of someone else.

[Yakumo nods at that, taking a step closer to him and sliding along as gracefully as a Kirlia, despite the awkward way he's moving. She's found the pattern in his step, and is adapting easily enough.]

Are we friends? [A pause.] Good friends, I mean? Aren't there...other people you'd rather be out with? [Because honestly, hearing that is a little needle to her ego.]

Not really. Napoleon'd attack the snack bar as soon as he got here, Conan'd knock everyone over, Alexander'd be chasing after anything that looked interesting, Nijo'd cause a fight, and we don't want Dino and The Lairon starting a brawl here.

[There's no reason to worry, Yakumo. Harima seriously has no other human in his life that he'd count among his friends, not that he'd ever admit to anything like that openly.]

[She lowers her head a bit, smiling quietly to herself as they dance. Of course he'd think of the Pokemon first. He always did.]

It's true. Haruki and Iori would make a mess too.

[And she's glad that she's the only human he brought up, honestly.]

Yeah, they would.

[He lifted his hand, looking at the other people on the dance floor while Yakumo hid her face under her hat. Really, she was kinda cute when she did things like that....]

Maybe we should bring 'em something, [He aaid suddenly, lighting an idea while he thought about their pokemon.] I know Napoleon would love to try some of the fancy food here.

[She fights back another giggle, and then her heart stops cold for a brief second when she catches a flicker of thought. Cute. He'd thought she was cute? Oh...goodness. That...that was an even better feeling than the dance. And the first time she'd caught one of his, too.

It makes her smile even wider, her head dipping lower to hide a temporary blush.]

P-Probably. They'd like it. And I know Haruki would love s-some of the candied apples. Lenna won't mind, I'm sure.

[...She must have had good reason to hide her face like that. Harima didn't question it, just kept moving along with the rhythm of the song, guiding Yakumo with him.]

Candied apples...that's a good idea. We should get a bunch and drop by the Habitat before we go home. It'd be like they were a part of the party too!

I...like that idea.

[More time with him? Yes please. And then the idea of bringing a bit of the party back for Iori, Teru, and the others was appealing too? She could practically see the Espurr's tail curling in delight.]

I'm sure they'd like it too.

[The dance slows a bit, and presumably so does Harima. So, Yakumo just leans up against him, resting her head on his shoulder as they move.]

[The subtle gesture from Yakumo took him by surprise. He tensed up, foot steps becoming a little more clumsy with the ridgidity of his spine. This was strange for her to do. Sure, they were dancing but...they were still friends, right?

It was a legitimate concern, even as he felt his cheeks burn with embarrassment.]

We should, uh, go grab some before someone beats us to it.

[psychicsister]

[They were still friends. It was all just part of the dance, after all, but when he tenses like that, she does too. Pulling away, she looks up at him and nods.]

Y-Yes. Yes we should.

[Internally, though? She's facepalming. How...could she let herself do that?! Embarrassing them both!]

[Truth was, he just wasn't that good with people. Anyone getting that physically close to him (unless it was a fight and he was about to be thrown to the ground) was a rare thing even within his own family. That, with his inherent clumsiness added to it, just made for a mess.]

You get a bag, I'll grab the snacks, and we'll blow this pokepuff stand?

That sounds nice, yes. It's getting late anyway.

[It's getting late enough that he wasn't comfortable letting her walk home by herself either. Sure, Union was safe, but it was still dark out. And, after all of those dreams and the gods? Harima didn't want to take any chances.]
