You of Union have a different way of aligning with Pokemon, I've heard. It has to do with these Warp Bands. I would appreciate hearing more about this. This is my first time using one.

[Union is totally unlike Caldera. It's so green and spread out, and those towers... and the people! Kuvira mostly keeps her composure, though her eyes are wide as she fights not to stare and takes herself on a tour of the less seedy areas. Her Ralts, not bothered by the desire to look professional, skips around at her feet and gapes openly at everything.]

What: Unlocking the last map area for bonding.
Warnings: New and exciting Pokemon. Also, I requested the 'mod tags once every 24 hours rule' just to keep things moving. We'll keep the thread order somewhat loose.

[After her first conversations with Bilbo and Thorin, Merrill had gotten it into her head to go out searching again for more clues to her peoples' past. Unfortunately, she isn't exactly sure where to go, but eventually ended up figuring if she doesn't know what direction to travel, any direction is equally potentially good. And since they were so kind and turned out to also know her girlfriend Yuuna, Merrill invited the two along for the journey. It won't be ancient Dalish ruins they'll be finding today, though, but rather a new area with Pokemon they've never seen before. Oh well. Discovery is discovery, right?]

Oh, this is so exciting! I haven't been on an expedition since before the snow fell.

I've a Klink I've had for a few months now and he just isn't...I'm not sure he's happy here. I don't seem to understand him like I do everyone else and he just doesn't seem happy with me.

[ meet Teasel, everyone - the new addition to the Baggins household, and a right royal pest. first it was Bilbo's spoons. then anything else in the house that was shiny and not nailed down. by this point, she's built a nice little overly shiny nest for herself, and you'd think that would be a good place to stop, locked in an eternal tug-of-war with her Trainer of put those back right now and finding new and more out-of-reach places to construct her nest of bling.

except no, instead she's taken to places further afield for feeding her shiny addiction. "places further afield" being "anywhere and everywhere in Union, nevermind whether or not the shiny things are junk or if they actually belong to someone else."

she's trying to be stealthy about it, for the most part. she doesn't want her fussy Trainer catching on to what she's up to, after all. but some of those shiny things are just too good to resist even if it means thieving a little bit more... well, publicly.

Union, you may or may not find items of yours suddenly missing, or catch a Murkrow shamelessly fleeing the scene of the crime! what do. ]

[ if Bilbo looks stressed in the warp band feed, that might be because he is. his face is in a deep-set frown, and he gives a deep sigh right before he starts speaking. ]

I think I owe quite a few people an apology for a certain somebody's antics over the past few days. [ he glares at something or someone off-screen before adjusting the warp band to reveal... well, a sizeable collection of shiny odds and ends piled on his kitchen table. ] Listen, I - I honestly have no idea who all of these things belong to, let alone how I'm supposed to return them, but if you do recognise anything, please, please let me know so I can get it back to its rightful owner. Again, I'm dreadfully sorry about all this. Won't happen again if I can help it.

[ at that, there's a sullen and only very slightly repentant cawing from off-screen... followed by the sound of breaking pottery, and the continued sound of squawking as Bilbo whirls around in its direction that almost sounds... melodic????. ]

Good afternoon citizens of Union!

I'd like to thank everyone who helped me get settled here in your generous city! So, if I can borrow a moment of your time, I'd like to make you all an offer.

See, I'm a photographer and thanks to taking a few odd jobs, I've finally been able to save up for a camera to get back to work. The problem is that I don't have a single picture for a portfolio here in Union. It's hard to start a business when you've got nothing to show for your ability.

That's where all of you come in!

I'm offering anyone who contacts me in the next week a free photo of some kind. It can be of anything. You, your pokemon, your food, you name it. You'll get one copy and then I'll get the negatives to add to my personal portfolio.

[ Why the medical center chose her to do this was beyond her, but here she was, still in her work uniform, on the Band. ]

Hello, my name is Elly, and I work with the Medical Center in Union. I was asked to send a mass message over the network about a service the center will be offering over the next few weeks.

While I wasn't in Union last year when this occurred, the Medical Center is preparing for another instance like they saw last year. Apparently, large flowers began growing all over the city, and created quite a few problems, especially for those with allergies. While we doubt that we'll see something quite like it again, the chance still exists.

So, in light of that, we will be providing open testing and treatment options for people suffering these symptoms. We will have a few booths open around Union, near our facilities. If you don't want to be miserable this spring, I highly recommend you take advantage. It doesn't hurt, and won't take long to administer.

This offer extends to those of other settlements as well, although we don't have the manpower to come to you, unfortunately. But please don't hesitate to come stop by.

Alright, now that that's done.

[ Elly takes a breath, adjusting her posture so she doesn't look so rigid. It's not that she has a hard time speaking to lots of people, but couldn't they pick someone else who actually witnessed this event? ]

I didn't want to say anything, but you really have a way with finding trouble around here. I've heard at least a little bit about the flower incident last year, and I've managed to see a few things since I arrived here in September. Is this just a regular occurrence, strange things happening? What kind of trouble have you all gotten into?

[ True to her word, the Medical Center is out en masse around Union, with Elly in tow. If they aren't administering tests, the nurses can be found trying to recruit more people.

Whatever you might happen to be doing, prepare to be approached. Someone is extremely diligent. ]

[ When not poking people with needles for the sake of feeling better, Elly can be found, in all places, at the Dojo. While she herself isn't a Mastery of Training, she has been asked to help out in other ways, and is doing her best to accommodate.

Although that's not to say that she isn't at least interested in training herself.

She can be found burning off steam during the evenings, her movements surprisingly fluid and graceful--likely due to her training. A keen eye might also be able to detect that she's close to evolving again. ]

[ACTION; HIKAWA SHRINE]

[ Between working, Elly has been doing a favor for a friend. Carrying her bag with her, the redhead walks up the stairs to the shrine, taking in the sights. It really was a beautiful place, and while Ankh wasn't her favorite patient, getting to see Eiji and walk around the shrine property were definite bonuses.

Although the bird wasn't really that bad, crabbiness aside. ]

[Good afternoon/evening, Union. This is Belbul. Belbul is a Carbink, and she has a Problem.

The Problem would be the (obviously foreign) boy sleeping on the bed next to her. They're in a low-end inn on the edge of Union and she is frankly worried. She pans the band out to the window, where the sign for the inn can be seen, back to the boy, and then she adds, very loudly:]

CARBINNNN!

[Translation?

"THORIN!"

Her cry wakes the boy up, who flails and looks around]

Belbul? Where's the fi--oh, hey, you got it to work! [He takes the band, yawning] Is this thing on?

[The video is kind of hazy at first. Likely because who ever is handling the warp band is not accustomed to such devices. Also, they appear to be very close to the ground. After a moment it focuses on a young man, sitting on the edge of a fountain near one of the more busiest areas of Union.]

--getting here was the hard part. I need work but I don't have any of my gear on me. Not that I could set up a darkroom in the park or anything. We definitely need somewhere to sleep tonight.

[A loud frustrated sigh.]

Goro, what do you th-- [And that's when he realizes his pokemon friend is up to no good. His eyes go wide and his face goes pale.]

[Anyone understanding Pokespeak will hear a Cubone who doesn't sound even a little bit sorry. You wanted help, so I helped! Now a lot of people will know you're looking for work! You should be thanking me!.]

[Hayato is not gifted in understanding Pokemon so he just gives him a flat look, probably guessing what he was probably saying and then reaching for the warp band. Goro drops it and scurries away. He'll appear proper on the warp band now with a slight twitch.]

...That was not the introduction I wanted to make to Union, but someone took it upon themselves to do it anyway. Ah- sorry anyone who was watching that. Since I'm already here, I'll just say it.

[He puts on a friendly smile this time.] My name's Hayato and I just came to town. I'm looking for work and maybe a place to sleep. I'm a photographer by trade but right now all I need is something to get by until I can buy new equipment.

[ now there's a new face on the network. if you've had to do with smiths lately you may have run into Thorin before, but that's about it. he's got a gruff look about him, somewhat unimpressed. ]

Since one of the librarians has taken it upon himself to ban me from the relevant sections of the library, [ that may have been a wry smile there but it's gone very quickly, ] I was wondering if one of you could tell me something about the history of Union. The story of the Saviour aside.
