Today on BNW: Beach Surprise! Ami's Special Birthday Gift...

Who: Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino and any party crashers that may just so happen to be near the beach *cough*The outer senshi*cough*
Where: Beachside, south of Union!
What: Wouldn't you guess, it's Ami's birthday! Usagi's taken the time to set up a birthday camp expedition to the beach with food, swimming and games to show a certain book worm how birthdays should really be according to her mantra.
Warnings: You've got the usual senshi shenanigans with a dash of the Body Swap event mixed in. Sounds like a hilarious episode, doesn't it?




[ Thanks to a little birdie one Rei Hino, it was up to Usagi to come up with the best birthday she could in what little time she had. And after careful consideration for who this birthday was for, Usagi could only come up with nothing but beach fun! It was still warm enough that swimming wouldn't get any of them sick, but it was cool enough that they wouldn't die of heat.

So, with friends, pokemon, food and camping gear in tow, it's time for the best birthday that Usagi hoped would be the best birthday Ami would ever have! ]

ooc: So, since this log is pretty simple, it's only going to be separated by Friday and Saturday (for obvious reasons). Friday might have more in terms of playing around, helping Mako-chan with the food or pokemon shenanigans but otherwise, have fun! It's not every day one turns 17 after all. ;D Also, don't be surprised if threadjacking happens? A whole bunch of teenage girls in one place.. it's only natural that everyone is in each others' business... unless you state that you don't want thread jacking. that's fine too!

[guess who are also at the beach today, with an intent on turning it into an overnight trip? Yup! Wow, what a coincidental display/ridiculous use of unconscious psychic/senshi powers!

And well, it really wouldn't do if they didn't even come over to say hi, right?]

How lively. [ Haruka stop looking and smelling like a fresh ocean breeze. You'll startle the children.

[After the Outers others had stumbled upon the party, it only seemed natural to help. Setsuna had not had the interaction and experience with the girls that Haruka and Michiru seemed to have, but she was willing to make the effort. She liked to think she could be less alone all the time and she was continuing to work on branching out to other individuals.

So, now we find her helping make decorative paper chains to hang up as decoration. Might as well go all out for a party, right?]

You and the others are putting in a lot of work...I think she'll like it because of that alone. Actions say a lot about how you feel for a person after all.

[As if Rei would miss this gathering! She's down at the beach helping Usagi get things set up, smiling quietly to herself as things are all taken care of. Tents? Check. Swim clothes? Check. Pile of wood for a bonfire? Check. Food not prepared by Usagi? Double-check.]

The weather really is perfect. It's just the right time of year for this.

[But...here's the thing? She's never been to a beach party before...so she mostly is just standing around in her swimsuit. Someone give her a push to do something.]

[ It's okay, Usagi wouldn't trust herself to make food for a special occassion. Leave that to Mako-chan the professionals! She is, however, done with making sure everything is set up and the shuffles on over to the fire priestess. ]

What do you want to do first? Swimming? Volleyball? Make super huge sandcastles?

[Ami honestly never had a party like this thrown to her. Her mother had practically insisted upon it once she got the invitation. She had a bag on her shoulder for sleeping over, some light reading, and then of course a swimsuit, towel, and change of clothes. She was always prepared, if she could help it. Even though Ami was excited about a birthday party, she didn't actually know what to do.]

Oh uh, thank you very much for coming to this. [She bowed. She was surprised to see so many for her birthday. A deep blush was on her cheeks while her Luxio, Hoothoot, and Dratini were beside her. Aurora eyed the crashing waves while Dratini was wiggling trying hard to get out of Ami's arms to go play in the water.] I believe there's food and drinks under the bigger tent. Will you be spending the night? [Usagi had been rather insistent on Ami staying the night on the beach. Ami had been rather easy to persuade, she loved being near the water.

She wondered if it would be rude to dig into the newest chapter under an umbrella.]

[oh hey, Ami. Guess who's here? And doesn't seem to remember what happened last time? Which also means she's completely unapologetic, but shhhh.]

Your Dratini is making quite a valiant escape attempt.

[ This was their first meeting in person. Hotaru wasn't... exactly good with face-to-face interactions. But she did feel she needed to say something - since she and Haruka and Michiru and Setsuna had ended up so close to the celebration, it felt to Hotaru almost like they were crashing it. ]

Umm... happy birthday. [ Yes, way to go, Hotaru. A+ social skills there! ]

[ By now Haruka has gathered that this is Ami's birthday celebration, and that somehow, coincidentally, she knows a lot of girls that Haruka knows. Two of whom have pinged her psychic radar as possibly being related to her personal destiny. This is an extremely strange coincidence. That's all it is, right?

But you'd never guess she's troubled by the birthday smile you're getting. ] My bad. I left your letter at home.

[Well, someone's glad to see you anyway. And isn't a party crasher, either. Rei steps out of a tent in her swimsuit, a rather nice modest red one, and beams.]

Well, how could we not? It's your birthday. And you're our friend. It wouldn't be right to not mark it in some way. And we knew how much you liked the sea...

[And here's the girl in charge of said food and drinks! She responds to Ami's offer with a smile and a wink.]

The food's there for you, too, you know.

OBLIGATORY BEACH VOLLEYBALL THREAD before we all end up uncoordinated in the wrong bodies

[ There'd been an uneven number of people interested in playing this game, so Haruka'd been roped into action. She's standing here with the ball in one hand, surveying both her teammates and the competition. Who's on this side of the net? Who's on the other? ]

Don't suppose anybody wants to receive this serve.

SATURDAY BIRTHDAY SHENANGANS

[ Haruka and Michiru set up their tent a ways away from the party proper - those kids are loud and, well, you never know when mature adults are going to need a little privacy. Since they are technically out in the wild Haruka's posted World Shaking as a guard. He's just sitting in the sand and every now and then he makes grumbling noises.

Not much seems to have happened after midnight in this tent, either. They've just apparently swapped positions under this blanket. How talented.

Haruka, oddly enough, is the first to stir - sunlight in her eyes, glancing off of something. She blinks groggily and - oh. It's just catching in Michiru's pretty blonde hair. That's all right then. Her eyes close again.






Wait a minute. Her eyes snap open and she just

stares. ]

[ Later in the morning, after the initial "what's going on" is out of the way, people can find a blond boy sitting out on the beach, his legs pulled up to his chest and his arms wrapped around his legs. He looks despondent, staring out at the sea with a blank stare.

This was not how Hotaru had planned to spend her day. She thought she'd be able to finish the novel she was reading, maybe spend time with her Pokémon... not wind up in the body of a boy with a weird voice and a body that didn't seem human or Pokémon.

At least Setsuna had insisted she pack some more utilitarian clothing - she was glad to be able to wear a black T-shirt and shorts in this case.

But.... ugh. She wanted this to be over. Her Pokémon couldn't even comfort her, since she couldn't even understand them any more... ]

[Early morning Saturday and a small petite blonde sits on a blanket on the beach. She's sipping coffee from a thermos and keeps picking at a strand of blonde hair in front of her face. Setsuna doesn't understand what has happened between falling asleep the night before and waking up this morning...but she's fairly determined to figure it out.

Being up early may be strange for Usagi, but it really isn't for the woman who currently looks like her. She's already determined that her own abilities have been changed along with the body. Setsuna frowns and looks back towards her own tent.]

None of the books I brought are going to help with this either...

[She'd peaked in on Haruka and Michiru, but those two had seemed perfectly fine and she wasn't exactly comfortable enough with the other girls to approach them about this problem. Thankfully, it seemed no one else was an early bird.]

[Saturday morning rolls around in one of the tents...and Rei is sound asleep on her towel, snoring slightly...until a certain tightness begins to bother her. She scratches at her leg and tosses in her sleep, and then scratches her stomach and rolls over again. It's the sensation of cold that really bugs her though. She can't remember a time since she was six or seven that she was genuinely cold.

She crawls out of the tent slowly to sit in the sun and warm up, not really noticing the extra hair or muscles, but her nightgown feels oddly tight. In...just about every place. And that is what gets her to look down.

And see her very very male body!

With a sharp gasp, Rei blinks and covers her mouth, slipping back into the tent and grabbing a mirror from her pack to have a look. Because in dreams mirrors don't work, right? Right!

Except the face staring back at her isn't the right one. It's...]

[She sensed it before she actually realized the full extent of the situation. She felt incredibly... off. Everything felt wrong and more than that, everything felt distant and strange. For a brief second she thought it was the result from too much partying with the other girls. However, she quickly rid herself of that thought as she took account of everything that felt unnatural and that was, well, everything. She took a deep breath.

The ocean waves didn't calm her. She opened her eyes and instantly grabbed her glasses. She put them on and walked out of her tent dressed in her nightwear she selected for the beach. Her pokemon stayed beside her, though they eyed her with unease.

She took a deep breath and surveyed the situation around her before adjusting her glasses.]

It would seem we've had our bodies- [She gazed at everyone and felt it strange that she could no longer read them like she once could. But she watched as various figures walked out of the tents belonging to her friends, figures and faces that had not been there the night before.] have been altered... [She gazed down at her body which was now most certainly male.]

Though I cannot explain why, at the moment.

[Despite any other calm reactions, Minako was anything but calm... In fact, once she fully realized what had happened, completely ignoring anyone else, by the way, she squealed! Loudly!

Only, it sounded more like a teenage boy than a teenage girl.]

POKEMON SHENANIGANS

[Hello there, flying ladies. Starly was strutting his stuff down the beach here. He was new in town and was looking to make some... friends... if you know what I mean. He was just going to parade and fluff his handsome feathers. They are handsome, right? Look at them gleam brightly in the sun. Now look down. Now look back at him. He's giving you the smolder look. Eyebrow waggle. A cool and calm statement.]

[Off to one side of the party are is Pokemon that aren't really seeming to take much part in the gathering. Isidis has never been the most sociable, and after he's evolved...it seems to have made the problem worse.

The Krokorok has always just enjoyed sleeping far too much. And he may or may not be snoozing while buried in the sand. Which means that there's a pair of sunglass-like eyes just sticking out of a small hill. Careful or you might step on him...but don't worry, he won't exactly bite. That'd require effort.

And then, of course, there's the usual suspects. Casius, Phobos, and Deimos. They're not up to any real trouble...but they seem to be playing a game where they toss a stick up in the air and try and catch it with either psychic power or wind. And it'd be going great if Casius overactive imagination wasn't making him think it was a threat, prompting him to spit fire at it.]

[ So Haruka makes a habit of teaching her Pokémon Dig. None of them have quite taken to it the way this Eevee has, however. And this sand is ripe for exploring. The last time he went under the ground they found a big secret room in the Ruins! Who knows what's here in the Beach?? He will help everyone uncover it!

Thus far he's found three seashells, two interestingly-shaped rocks, a bit of driftwood, and an Old Rod someone broke over their knee and discarded here after catching their 9,001th Magikarp. All of these treasures have been carefully preserved off to one side as Eevee begins digging his dozenth hole. ] Vee!

[ There is also a small Nidoran pretending he doesn't know the Eevee. He's never seen this much water before, so he keeps putting a paw out and then retracting it. If only his beloved Stradivarius were here. Then he'd brave these waves to show her how cool he is! ] Ran.
