Today on BNW: Beach Surprise! Ami's Special Birthday Gift...

Who: Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino and any party crashers that may just so happen to be near the beach *cough*The outer senshi*cough*
Where: Beachside, south of Union!
What: Wouldn't you guess, it's Ami's birthday! Usagi's taken the time to set up a birthday camp expedition to the beach with food, swimming and games to show a certain book worm how birthdays should really be according to her mantra.
Warnings: You've got the usual senshi shenanigans with a dash of the Body Swap event mixed in. Sounds like a hilarious episode, doesn't it?




[ Thanks to a little birdie one Rei Hino, it was up to Usagi to come up with the best birthday she could in what little time she had. And after careful consideration for who this birthday was for, Usagi could only come up with nothing but beach fun! It was still warm enough that swimming wouldn't get any of them sick, but it was cool enough that they wouldn't die of heat.

So, with friends, pokemon, food and camping gear in tow, it's time for the best birthday that Usagi hoped would be the best birthday Ami would ever have! ]

ooc: So, since this log is pretty simple, it's only going to be separated by Friday and Saturday (for obvious reasons). Friday might have more in terms of playing around, helping Mako-chan with the food or pokemon shenanigans but otherwise, have fun! It's not every day one turns 17 after all. ;D Also, don't be surprised if threadjacking happens? A whole bunch of teenage girls in one place.. it's only natural that everyone is in each others' business... unless you state that you don't want thread jacking. that's fine too!

[Ami smiled as she looked at the two of them. They were huge, but oh she loved looking them! She held onto Socrates while she is up to her knees in the water.]

A pleasure to meet you, Bass, Melody. My goodness, you're both so wonderful! [Socrates wiggled, curious at the bigger and older pokemon. He let out a happy:]

[to the pokemon.]

Socrates here was just newly hatched and is anxious to play in the water.

[Melody croons in greeting, sparkling a bit before moving out of the way so her counterpart can say hi. Bass gives off a low rumble and is honestly trying to look as harmless as possible. Which isn't really working, but it's the effort that counts, right?

Michiru is reaching out to give her Milotic a tickle under the chin.] Will you two look after Socrates?

[Melody nods, super serious about the responsibility she has been given, while Bass is trying to decide if she should try smiling. Her Trainer smiles a lot and it's usually a good thing, but other Pokemon don't seem to like it when she does it.]

[Socrates seems scared of Bass for about a whole second before he wiggled out of Ami's arm to plop gracelessly into the water and swim over to the other two, swimming around them and calling out to them, wanting to play. He bobbed up and down and even shot water at the older pokemon.]

Socrates... [She chided softly but Socrates was already trying to get Michiru's pokemon to play with him.]

[Bass gives off a low rumble of happiness! Making friends can be difficult, sometimes. She uses her giant tail to gently splash Socrates in return, extremely aware of her giant bulk and Socrates' relatively tiny size.]

Miii... [Melody is starting to wonder if she's babysitting one child or two.

Michiru just chuckles.] Bass is surprisingly good with children, actually. Just don't expect her to do any disciplining.

Socrates is a very good boy, I don't think she'll have to. [Ami laughed, covering her mouth as Dratini tried so hard to get Melody to play with them, squirting water at the Milotic and then nuzzling up against her and Bass.]

He's incredibly affectionate, so I imagine they'll be getting lots of nuzzles and trilling from him.

[alright, alright. Melody is a little leery of throwing water at a baby, so she'll just pick on Bass instead. Without any warning, she turns and gets the Gyarados full in the face with a Water Gun! Bass rumbles in mock outrage and sends a small wave towards Melody!

Will Socrates choose a side?]

From the way he's taking to the water, I suspect I'll be seeing you at the Habitat pool more often than not.

It appears so. And I'm going to go fishing sometime today so you might see me very often, actually.

[Socrates is still to young to realize that sides are even happening right now, merely squirting at both of them thinking everyone was fair game.]

Dratini's and Dragonairs are very fond of water, even having several water type attacks though that's a long way coming.

Oh? I hadn't thought of turning this into a fishing trip, actually. [she's got her hands full with the Pokemon she's already got.

Melody and Bass glance at each other, and then Melody aims her attack so both she and Socrates hit Bass at the same time! Bass roars and tragically falls over backwards - and maybe creating a massive wave while she's at it.]

...ah. [and Michiru braces herself for impact]

I was able to get a classmate of mine to make me a good rod so I'm excited at the prospect of using it. Especially when there is such a diverse culture in the ocean compared to the lake and the swamps. If I end up bonding with a pokemon here, they can meet all my friends at once too.

[Ami sees the wave come and she laughs as they're both doused in water. Socrates has somehow ended up on top of Bass' head and trills in triumph.]

[Bass can't help but rumble happily, even if she knows she ought to be acting a bit more defeated. Socrates had fun! Meanwhile, Melody is leaning in to give the kid a friendly nuzzle. Yay, teamwork!

Michiru laughs too, as she wipes water out of her eyes. So much for politely staying dry.]

It's certainly a far cry from any lake. That's part of the reason why I wanted to bring them out here.

[and screw it, she's soaked already. Might as well swim out towards the Pokemon. Michiru slides smoothly into the water. This...is definitely her element.]

[Socrates can't help but adore the attention from the older water pokemon. While Minnie and Aurora are sweet and caring, neither of them play in the water like he does. He leans out and nuzzles back closing his eyes in content. Ami is already drenched and she follows Michiru's example and swims out to the pokemon.

Socrates is really very content atop Bass' head.]

At this rate Socrates is going to want a sleep over with Melody and Bass.

[Bass makes sure to keep her head very still! She doesn't seem to mind giving rides to Pokemon or humans, and might rear up to give Socrates a Gyarados'-eye-view of the scenery.

Melody peels off to say hi to Michiru and to examine Ami a little more closely, crooning a little.] I doubt they would mind. [not with the way Bass is taking to the Dragon type, at any rate.]

With all the exploring they're doing, sleep might be the last thing on their minds, however.

Socrates is still little enough that he takes naps, all the excitement will mean he'll just take a longer nap later. [Which Ami was alright with so long as he was being mentally, physically, and emotionally stimulated and nurtured. Naps are a necessary component!]

Although, with how energetic he is, he may make Melody and Bass want naps too.

[When Melody comes closer, Ami can't help but be in awe.]

Ah, she's absolutely beautiful. I've never been so close to a Milotic before.

Miiii. [yup, and there she goes, sparkling a little and preening. Ami has won herself a few points in Melody's book, apparently.]

But it's what on the inside that counts. [a teasing look at the Milotic] Right?

[Melody looks away, not meeting her Trainer's eyes. W-well, when you put it that way...]

Ah, with the way she was with Socrates, I already know she has just as lovely a heart as she does an appearance. [Ami offered.

Socrates, meanwhile, was sliding down Bass' back like it was a slide right into the water only to try and get right back up onto Bass' head and do it again.]

You're amazing Melody. [She looked back to Michiru.] Where did you find her?

[Bass was worried at first, but when it was obvious that Socrates hadn't accidentally fallen off her head, she goes along with the new game. She'll let the Dragon type climb on before rearing to her full, and impressive, height.

Melody shoots a look back at Michiru. See?

Her Trainer just smiles, and reaches up to scratch the Milotic under her chin.] The swamps. She was quite an elusive little fish.

[Ami giggled as she thought of someone as refined and as beautiful as Michiru in the swamps, knee high in muck and sludge.]

I can only imagine. Ah, but is it true Milotic is able to calm any rage or anger a person someone might have?

[she can do it if she has to! And she probably still looked fabulous at the end of the day.]

I haven't actually tested that out. [hmmm] It doesn't seem to work with in fight with other humans, but it might with wild Pokemon.

[Melody probably has more of a temper than Bass, if anything]

Ah, I see. It would be interesting to see if the rumor is true. [Ami wanted to pet Melody.] I'm certainly happy around her, but I've not any reason to be upset.

I'm sure we'll find some opportunity to test that out. [either implying that it's inevitable that they will run into a horde of angry Tentacruel or they should go exploring some time. Though neither is mutually exclusive.

Melody leans into her Trainer, nuzzling. That gets a fond smile out of Michiru, though part of it is directed towards Ami. Call it intuition, but well. Seeing how the other girl is with her own Pokemon...]
