Today on BNW: Beach Surprise! Ami's Special Birthday Gift...

Who: Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino and any party crashers that may just so happen to be near the beach *cough*The outer senshi*cough*
Where: Beachside, south of Union!
What: Wouldn't you guess, it's Ami's birthday! Usagi's taken the time to set up a birthday camp expedition to the beach with food, swimming and games to show a certain book worm how birthdays should really be according to her mantra.
Warnings: You've got the usual senshi shenanigans with a dash of the Body Swap event mixed in. Sounds like a hilarious episode, doesn't it?




[ Thanks to a little birdie one Rei Hino, it was up to Usagi to come up with the best birthday she could in what little time she had. And after careful consideration for who this birthday was for, Usagi could only come up with nothing but beach fun! It was still warm enough that swimming wouldn't get any of them sick, but it was cool enough that they wouldn't die of heat.

So, with friends, pokemon, food and camping gear in tow, it's time for the best birthday that Usagi hoped would be the best birthday Ami would ever have! ]

ooc: So, since this log is pretty simple, it's only going to be separated by Friday and Saturday (for obvious reasons). Friday might have more in terms of playing around, helping Mako-chan with the food or pokemon shenanigans but otherwise, have fun! It's not every day one turns 17 after all. ;D Also, don't be surprised if threadjacking happens? A whole bunch of teenage girls in one place.. it's only natural that everyone is in each others' business... unless you state that you don't want thread jacking. that's fine too!

[Well, someone's glad to see you anyway. And isn't a party crasher, either. Rei steps out of a tent in her swimsuit, a rather nice modest red one, and beams.]

Well, how could we not? It's your birthday. And you're our friend. It wouldn't be right to not mark it in some way. And we knew how much you liked the sea...

[Ami is in her blue and white polka-dot swimsuit with a shirt over it and a hat on for the sun. She smiles as she looks at the older girl, finding Rei as lovely as other in the sun.]

I'm really very glad I got to spend my birthday with friends. Though, I do wonder how Usagi-chan even found out. [Her tone and grin was rather telling and suggested she knew exactly who told the blonde. Ami had never been to a beach party before, even though finishing school had ensured she could be poised in social situations like this.]

You look lovely, Rei-chan.

Oh, I heard a little Murkrow told her...

[Rei can't help but crack a smile about that.]

And so do you, Ami-chan. Blue is really your color.

Hmm, with beautiful purple eyes, I'm sure. [She teased with a wink before she blushed.]

Ah, thank you. My favorite colors are blue and aquamarine, actually, and I have a habit of purchasing clothes with those colors. Will you be going swimming, Rei?

[And cue a faint blush back, Ami-chan.]

I think I might. It's been a while though.

Well, I'll stay by you the whole time so you have nothing to worry. Being in the water is one of my favorite things.

Well, I've swam before, of course. I should be alright.

Oh, forgive me, I misunderstood. But you know I still would love to go swimming with you.

[faithfulflame]

I know. [She's already taking off the t-shirt over her bathing suit, of course, and starting towards the water.] Let's go.

[Dratini lets out a long trill at the fact that they're going to go swimming and as soon as they're in the water, whatever worries Ami had (few that they were at the moment), seemed to just melt away. Socrates jumped right in and blew bubbles in the water, waiting for the other two.]

It's so wonderful in the water.

[faithfulflame]

[Rei smiles gently as she wades out, looking at the Pokemon in the water. Looking back to the shore, she sees Moeris already scuttling towards her, and laughs lightly.]

It's...not really my element. But thanks to you, and Moeris...and even Hellenes I'm starting to understand it a bit better.

Water is really very fascinating, you know. It seeks a path of least resistance most of the time, causing rivers to be nothing but twists and turns. But even if it does bend and twist, with time it still weathers and smooths out the most difficult of oppositions in the way, broadening its path. While calm and gentle it allows itself to also become quite harsh, as seen in high pressure.

Oh, that much I've figured out. [As she gets further out, bubbles start to rise all around her, steam curling up around her body.] Water is something I've had to study, especially after I started training my body and my powers.

[She smiles ruefully at the Kingler heading their way.]

It's got quite a sting to it.

Ah! That's right. [Ami went over to Rei.] As a fire type, do you find yourself having difficulty in the water because of how effective it is to your type, or does it make no difference to you and you find yourself not feeling adverse to it at all?

[faithfulflame]

Well, I may be weak against it...but I'm still human. It doesn't bother me much...but...well...

[She gestures to the steam] This happens.

Ah, so you can't use your fire moves. Still, you have your psychic abilities if you have any need, correct?

[Socrates is swimming literal circles around her and Rei, letting out happy trills while in the water.]

That's incredible that it would affect you in such a way.

[faithfulflame]

No, no, I can use my fire moves. [She holds up a soggy hand, calling up a small flame.] My body is just warmer than yours is. And when it comes into contact with cool water, well...you know what happens.

I can certainly put the equation together.

Still, you're simply incredible Rei-chan. I could listen to you talk about your abilities for hours!

[She leaned back into the water and sighed in content when she felt herself relax, whatever worries she did have disappeared.]

Well, there's not much more to say about them, Ami-chan.

[Rei floated out a bit further and relented, warping in Hellenes from her band and letting the Magikarp swim a circuit around Ami.]

Besides, I'd rather here more about you. How've you been enjoying your birthday so far?

More about me? [Ami was still so very unused to talking about herself, even to her friends.]

Oh, I am, yes. I love it. I don't think I've ever had such a lively one before!

[It's okay, you're in good company, Ami. Rei isn't either, hence DEFLECTION!]

Really? Never? What have you done in the past?

My mother and I would just have a small cake together and my dad would send me a recent painting from somewhere in his travels.

[faithfulflame]

Oh? Your father is a traveler? Like a Trainer?

No, a painter. He rather paint pokemon.

Rather paint Pokemon than...stay with you?
