Today on BNW: Beach Surprise! Ami's Special Birthday Gift...

Who: Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino and any party crashers that may just so happen to be near the beach *cough*The outer senshi*cough*
Where: Beachside, south of Union!
What: Wouldn't you guess, it's Ami's birthday! Usagi's taken the time to set up a birthday camp expedition to the beach with food, swimming and games to show a certain book worm how birthdays should really be according to her mantra.
Warnings: You've got the usual senshi shenanigans with a dash of the Body Swap event mixed in. Sounds like a hilarious episode, doesn't it?




[ Thanks to a little birdie one Rei Hino, it was up to Usagi to come up with the best birthday she could in what little time she had. And after careful consideration for who this birthday was for, Usagi could only come up with nothing but beach fun! It was still warm enough that swimming wouldn't get any of them sick, but it was cool enough that they wouldn't die of heat.

So, with friends, pokemon, food and camping gear in tow, it's time for the best birthday that Usagi hoped would be the best birthday Ami would ever have! ]

ooc: So, since this log is pretty simple, it's only going to be separated by Friday and Saturday (for obvious reasons). Friday might have more in terms of playing around, helping Mako-chan with the food or pokemon shenanigans but otherwise, have fun! It's not every day one turns 17 after all. ;D Also, don't be surprised if threadjacking happens? A whole bunch of teenage girls in one place.. it's only natural that everyone is in each others' business... unless you state that you don't want thread jacking. that's fine too!

[ So Haruka makes a habit of teaching her Pokémon Dig. None of them have quite taken to it the way this Eevee has, however. And this sand is ripe for exploring. The last time he went under the ground they found a big secret room in the Ruins! Who knows what's here in the Beach?? He will help everyone uncover it!

Thus far he's found three seashells, two interestingly-shaped rocks, a bit of driftwood, and an Old Rod someone broke over their knee and discarded here after catching their 9,001th Magikarp. All of these treasures have been carefully preserved off to one side as Eevee begins digging his dozenth hole. ] Vee!

[ There is also a small Nidoran pretending he doesn't know the Eevee. He's never seen this much water before, so he keeps putting a paw out and then retracting it. If only his beloved Stradivarius were here. Then he'd brave these waves to show her how cool he is! ] Ran.

[ That may or may not be a little Espurr baby walking up to said Eevee, looking on curiously at all the new holes on the beach and are those fun things off to the side?

She'd walk closer to ask if she can join him, but fails to notice one of the more hidden holes that's small enough that she doesn't fall in, but big enough that the sand goes up to her chest. ]

Espurr!

Vee?

[ Did somebody say something? Eevee turns and - oh dear! Oh dear oh dear! His ears go up and he bounds over. ] Eeeeeee!!

[ CHANGES TO GOLD used DIG! He'll get you out of there!

...Or make this hole bigger. One of the two. Especially when the sand beneath his own paws gives out and he falls down into his own hole. Now they're both sitting in it. ] Vee!

[ SIGH. She wanted to get out of the hole, not get herself deeper in it. But, she has to at least give the other Pokemon for at least trying to help. So, thank you very much , Gold! You get a grateful smile in return. ]

Espurr.

[ Now, how to get them out of this. The three week old baby tries standing up so she can do her best impression of the digging technique she had just seen... and instead piles more sand on top of her head. ]

Purr!

Eee! [ That's no good! Eevee raises a paw to brush the sand off Espurr's head. Don't panic. He got them into this, yes, but that also means that he can get them out. What if they. Hmm.

...Do you think he could dig a tunnel? ] Eevee?

[ The little Espurr lets out a sound of appreciation at being dusted off, but looks at the situation that they're in right now. More and more sand would just fall on them if they kept trying to dig up...

... would it be okay to dig a tunnel? She's never dug a tunnel! Does he need help? ]

Vee! [ Neither has he, but how hard can it vee be? You just dig sideways instead of down. See, he'll get it started, and then you can help too!

Gold hunches and begins pawing at the base of their hole. The rim wobbles a bit. Someone has never learned about structural integrity.... ]

[Hey there, Eevee. This Aron was interested in digging, too. First, because he was kind of lazy, he checked out what was already there. No metal. Boring. So he watched Eevee dig... waiting. He might join in later, but that depended on just how motivated he felt. Which wasn't very motivated at all.]

[ Dig, dig, dig, dig. Eevee is intent on this task. He thinks he sees some treasure down here - ah -

Oh. It's a twisty piece of metal that probably belonged to one of these Rod splinters. He's not worldly enough to realize this, however. He just thinks it's shiny and kind of cool. ]

Vee. [ Gingerly he places it on his treasure pile, and begins to turn back to his hole... ]

[At that, he perked up, blinking his eyes a little as he sniffed that distinctly metallic scent. Yup. That smelled pretty darn yummy from here. Eevee found Aron's motivational trigger. He got up and slowly wandered over, pushing his nose through the treasure pile rather carelessly, and picks up the piece of metal in his mouth.

Mm... Hm... Thinking about eating it or saving it...

But, hey... if this Eevee was so good at digging, he might find more...]

Ee? [ Was there movement behind him? Eevee looks over, a tiny pile of sand lodged on the bridge of his nose. Oh, hello! Can he help you? ]

Ron.

[Nope. This was fine. He was still holding that piece of metal in his mouth. If Eevee wanted to keep it, he was going to have to get it back.]

[ ....Huh. Well, Eevee doesn't actually have much of a use for that piece of metal. He cocks his head, thinks about this, and keeps digging.

Only to turn around again after a few more minutes as something new occurs to him. Are you going to be okay with that? It's kind of tough! He wouldn't want you to hurt your mouth on it! ] Vee? Eevee ee.

[Well, if the Eevee didn't want it baaaack...

He nodded.]

Aron. [Yum. That wasn't bad. Not as good as the stuff from the mines. This was a little processed tasting. But, it wasn't bad.]

[ Eevee's jaw drops. You....you ate it?! It was edible?! ]

Aron. [The Pokémon equivalent of a shrug.

Sure. Why not?]

Ron? Aron... [Metal tastes good.]

Vee. [ Huh. This is news to Eevee. Maybe he'll try some if he finds any more...

Oh, but don't let him seem like he's hogging the sand. Did you want to dig too? It's fun. ] Vee vee eevee vee.

[Dig? You mean like... actually do something?

He yawned.

Not really... It was okay. He would just stay here and watch. You were pretty good at that, though.]

[ Ah, okay. If you are feeling tired, he will just have to dig until he finds more metal for you! Food creates energy. Energy will help you want to play. Yes, this is a plan. Eevee nods solemnly to himself and begins digging with a vengeance.

You might be able to get that nap in, Aron. This could take a while. ]

[Aron just watched. It was actually kind of cool. He sniffed the air a little, curious if there was anything else close by. Considering he was basically a living metal detector, there was a good amount, for sure. He might show Eevee some... later.]

[actsmagnificent]

[ Hm. He's not seeing anything. Maybe the metal is just buried really really deep! He has to go deeper try harder!!

Gold lowers his head into the task and wiggles his way further into the sand. Dig, dig, dig, he has to dig! ] Ee.

[ Look out, Gold. The sides of your hole are wobbling. Sand is not the most sturdy of materials... ]

[Hey... be careful.]

Vee? [ Of wha--

And that would be a wave of sand tumbling over and covering the Eevee, apparently knocking him off his feet: all Aron will see is a single paw sticking out of the sand. ] Eeee!!

[Of that.

He waited to see if Eevee could dig himself out, but apparently not. He yawned again, and then got up, wandered closer, and investigated. He sniffed the paw, and then dug at the sand to loosen it up so Eevee could get out.]

[ And that would be Eevee, head popping out of the sand as he sits up and spews some out of his mouth. Whooooooaaa. You saved him!
