[Among those walking around Union today is Maya Fey, spooky as always.

But tailing behind her is a new face-- belonging to an old friend, of course. This new face simply happens to have a tree for antlers.

Kika, Maya's deerling, has evolved into a sawsbuck! She's following Maya around proudly and being a bit of trouble despite having offered to carry things for the medium.]

Kika-- Kika, you're shaking leaves off on me. C'mon, you big show off, stop prancing.

[Kika only laughs, straightening her step as she follows Maya and paying close attention to everyone she passes.]

[ I forget if there's a thing for action logs but here we go.

Hans is glad to be back in Union-- hell, he's especially glad that he didn't have to lift a finger while he was in Caldera because wow. Hopefully tales of his awesomeness have spread throughout the city by now, but he honestly just wants to take a break.

The best thing to really relax is to shift, obviously. So if you should find yourself walking around Union, you may just run into a cute little Axew that is just walking around with his buddy, Sitron, a Rapidash that looks... well, just like any other Rapidash. So he's laying low. Right.

Shhh, as long as he just goes for a walk people won't know he's a shifter! That's the plan, anyway. I mean, aside from his little pink scarf, he's just like any other pokemon wandering around the city.

Maybe he just got away from his master, that's all. ]

Action; all week

[Unlike Jinxie, Maya chose to leave for training without warning. Jinxie's new abilities had left her wishing that maybe she could evolve, too-- and besides, if she doesn't get any training, Shi will probably have words for her once she get back from the breeding center.

So, she's decided to join Jinxie in her intensive training exploits for once-- she's even promised to do it for more than just a week. Attuned to her band for this trip are Boss, Kon, Peri, Bozu, and Powel, and all of them are a bit more motivated than Maya at first. Still, after a day of complaining, Maya's finally got into the swing of things, especially with Boss so eager to catch up to everyone else.

For the rest of the week, Maya can be found outside of the waterfall area early in the morning, chanting quiet prayers under her breath. She asks her sister for help, guidance, and to watch over her.]

Action/Video; Mid-week

[Of course, there's still a need to take a break every once in a while, so on Thursday Maya can be found sitting outside the waterfall they've designated as their training area with Powel and Peri. Maya's busy fanning the little snover while Powel blows gentle winds at him-- and Maya seems a little put off.]

I told you it was going to be too hot sometimes, you know.

[Peri just crosses his arms, laying out on the ground with his trainer and Powel. He'd just wanted to see the island, after all! There was no reason to be mad! Or even worried! He'll be fine.

...Maya keeps fanning him though, occasionally stopping to fan herself as well. She's frustrated-- very little about this feels the same as training for channelling, and she can't help but be impatient. So, on this rest day, she decides to leave a little video message while fanning Peri.]

Soooo. Question.

What do you guys do when stubborn little ice pokémon follow you on trips to hot islands?

[When Peri crawls over to beat on her shoulder for being a jerk, all Maya can do is laugh.]

Action; end-of-week

[Toward the end of the week, Bozu and Maya retreat to the darker areas behind the waterfall to train-- in absolute silence, and in absolute darkness, something that ghosts have to learn to be one with and to navigate. To see the shadows around her as space to be filled-- that's the Shadow Sneak technique Shi uses, and though Maya herself can't use it yet, she does her best to learn the mechanics of it.

It's a sudden thing-- mastering the technique-- and as she feels herself move in the darkness, she feels weightless. There's a coolness to it, something that isn't quite cold, but refreshing and welcoming, and it envelopes her heart and fills her chest. The weightlessness fills her and the space around her, and she can feel herself connected to the shadows around her. Light spills from her presence and into the surrounding space, and when the light clears, Maya feels strange.

The magatama around her neck glows softly, and around her glow little wisps. Part of her doesn't know how to believe it.

That's why, when she steps out of the darkness, it's with her eyes closed. She opens them slowly, pressing her palms to her face before patting herself down.]

Did I... did I do it?! Was that it?

So, I've been wondering.

[Maya's on the video again. That can only mean one thing, right? That she's bored?

...Surprisingly, it's more than that this time.]

Doesn't anyone else think it's weird that ghost types can lay eggs?

I mean, even my favourite-- [...Don't give her that look, Shi.] --second favourites lay eggs.

Speaking of, you guys know of these pokémon, right?

[She holds up a picture of ghastly and gengar, doodled with ink.]

It's kinda hard to catch Gengar around here, but I really want one sometime. Does anyone have ghastly eggs to trade?

I got to use the breeding center with Kika once! But since ghost eggs are so weird, I think I'll send Shi over sometime. Anyway, we shouuuld totally talk about that if you're into the idea.

Hey, hey, guys! I have a surprise!

[Who's she addressing?

...Who knows.

Regardless, Maya seems stupidly excited, and from her lap she produces a baby eevee, stubby baby legs and all. It whines a little, wiggling, before wagging its tail.]

Look at this little guy! Isn't he cute? He hatched Sunday.

[Two small shuppets slip to peer over her shoulders. Jealous? Never. Shh.

Maya pats both of their heads before turning back to the camera.]

Iiii just don't have a name for 'im yet. And I suuuper don't know what I'll have him evolve to, since there's no ghost type for 'im. [SIGH.]

Ah, well. Anyway-- What's up with all of you guys?

[She reaches forward to end the transmission before Shi pops up behind her, tugging on her hair to stop her.]

--Oh! Right! Um, I'm still-- we can still schedule channellings if anyone's interested! Y'know. Ghost stuff? All that jazz? Right. SO. Talk to me!

[After her bout of the flu, Maya's feeling much better.

And she is aching to get out of the house. She now traverses the Union City streets with Shi in her hair, excitedly inspecting everything she can.
She's glad to get away from her aunt, and she can't help but be excited to be FAR, FAR AWAY from her bed and the village. She can't help but put her nose in just about everything-- so if you get stopped by a silly young woman in furisode, don't be too surprised.

She's also pre-tty mad about having been sick when the ghosts had come. What a drag!]

Man, you miss everything if you get sick around here, huh. I heard you guys got to play with all the ghosts!

[Play. Yeah. Right.]

[Jinxie's feeling pretty good after that expedition to the Old City last week to calm down the raging Pokemon and stop the earthquake. And she's always been curious about what kinds of things exist in the Ruins, so she's recruited her cousin and fellow ~~spookygirl~~ spiritualist Maya Fey to mount an expedition to go down there and look for interesting artifacts and Pokemon. She's got her trusty companion Dokuro with her as usual, her Warp Band attuned to a full complement of five additional Pokemon, and her sleeves packed full of protective charms she stayed up all night making, so she's feeling as confident and ready as Jinxie Tenma ever gets.]

Are you ready, Maya? Shi?

[Turning to Maya and her own Duskull, Jinxie nods at them both before looking toward the dark and mysterious entrance.]

[Meditation in the forest shrine is always rather peaceful.

You know.

When it isn't cold as balls.

Of course, the cold-as-balls is good for resistance training, which is exactly why Maya is out there, her duskull, Shi, hovering above her head. She wears her usual furisode, crouched on the ground where she's cleared a space of snow.

After a good few hours worth of meditation, she decides that it'd be good to take a walk-- perhaps to encounter some pokémon (or perhaps just to regain feeling in her hands) or to see if anyone else is out walking along the forest path. As Shi slides into her hiding place in Maya's hair, Maya rubs her hands together and sets out to explore.]
