The vast wilderness beckons! Beginning January 25th, 2014, all wild Pokémon threads that aren't incorporated as part of another post should go here. You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

Please respond to the correct Week if possible for organizational purposes.

[ Well you never know what you might encounter in a forest. Whether Jason will have good or bad luck this time around well... we'll just see.

While Jason and Piper are walking through the Forest there is the occasional rustling of the bushes not too far behind. Something seems a bit curious. Or maybe it's just waiting for the right moment to attack. ]

[Jason picked up on the rustling after awhile. At first he wonders if it could be the wind, though the thought is only brief. Jason can control the wind to a degree and he hasn't felt enough of a breeze to cause that kind of sound. However, Jason doesn't turn around just yet. It might be better if he lets the something approach on its own terms.

So, he continues walking, occasionally looking up into the trees to keep an eye on Piper and make sure she stays close.]

[ Rustle rustle.

The rustling continues for a while as Jason and Piper continue to move through the forest. But eventually something changes as whatever is in the bushes decided to send out a spark at Jason. ]

o/ it's okay!

[notthatjason]

Ow.

[Jason's hand goes to his neck as the spark hits out of reflex. It's only a minor stinging shock than something that would actually hurt, thanks to his own typing, but it's still enough to get his attention.]

Guess we can't ignore it any more. Piper.

[Jason drops his hand and turns towards the grass. Piper swoops low over the grass in hopes of driving whatever pokemon is in the grass out into the open.]

[ Piper's attempt to drive the Pokemon out of the bushes worked.

Out jumps out a Pikachu its cheeks sparking with electricity. It looks like it was looking for a battle with Jason and waiting for him to deliver. ]

[Piper swoops up and lands on a nearby branch. She has a sense that this is about to take an electric turn and knows better than to get involved.

And at least it wasn't reacting as the Hippopotas had, but still did Jason just have some aura about him that begged for Pokemon to try to pick a fight with him? Still, this is a Pikachu. Maybe he can bond with it a little easier, seeing as they share something in common.]

You sure you want to try that?

[Jason holds a hand out, letting electricity dance between his fingers.]

[ It's Jason's fate to have every Pokemon pick a fight with him.

Though the Pikachu's cheeks stop sparking as its ears perk upon seeing the electricity. So this human, whoever he is, can use electricity as well?

Perhaps that it why it was drawn to him. Its cheeks spark again. Show it how well you can use your electric prowess! ]

[It probably is. He is not going to like that very much in the future.

At least he was right about his guess that the Pikachu would probably show more curiosity about his electrical abilities than anything else. The downside though, is that he can't really DO much more with his electrical abilities. He can't shock except through touch and he's not sure if the Pikachu is just going to let him touch him.

Maybe he could use a flashy technique instead. Jason concentrates and the electricity around his hand starts to get brighter, turning into almost a steady glow instead of just random sparks. It's not quite as bright as Flash would be, but it's certainly illuminating the area like Jason's own personal flash light.]

[ Nope. Pikachu isn't going to let him touch it. Not right now. Maybe in a bit though.

Pikachu watches Jason as he does his Flash-like move. Well it's certainly lighting up the area and is pretty cool in its own way. But what about offensively? ]

Still not impressed, huh?

[Jason tilts his head, figuring the Pikachu is still expecting something more out of him.]

Well, it's hard to do much else. I can't exactly throw lightning yet like you can. I have to be able to touch something for it to get zapped.

[ Pikachu sparks its cheeks a little. Zapping something through touch huh? That's something Pikachus do! So he hops over and looks up at Jason.

Why don't you show him. ]

[Jason blinks at the Pikachu's approach. So far so good, right? Jason had always thought he'd be good with Electric pokemon, but up until now he'd never gotten a chance to try it out much.

Jason tries to remember what he's learned about Pikachu from school. He knows the red cheeks are not something he should touch, electrical immunity or not. He also knows that this could potentially have negative effects on him, but Jason has never been one to approach with caution.

He concentrates and brings the electricity back to his hand before reaching out and brushing his hand over Pikachu's head, letting the electricity course out from his hand.]

[ Pikachu stands and waits for Jason to touch him. His cheeks sparks when Jason brushes his head. That feels good. The Pikachu then shocks Jason's hand back but it the intention wasn't to harm Jason. Instead it was the kind of shock that Pikachu use to say hello to each other. He's curious to see if Jason would feel it the same way Pikachu would. ]

[It's strange...but Jason can tell the shock is different from the previous one Pikachu had given him. This was certainly an interesting development to say the least. He goes out on a limb and says.]

Heh, well, hello to you too.

[Jason concentrates, trying to get a feel for the electricity coming from Pikachu and returning a similar current.]

[ Pikachu 'chaaas' happily when Jason gets the message. It seems to approve of the electric shock that Jason has given back. It's not quite the same but enough that Pikachu can tell what he's doing.

So overall he is in approval and it's pretty easily to tell. ]

[Well it's not like he's ever done this before. It's the thought that counts, right? He decides to go ahead and take the next step.]

I could probably learn a lot from you about Electric moves. It's no good practicing on Piper...she doesn't like it very much.

Would you want to bond with me? I think we'd make a good team.

[ Pikachu seemed to consider it for just a split second before hopping onto Jason's shoulder. Yeah, he'll go with you! He has a lot to teach you and together they can both become stronger!

Congrats Jason you have officially bonded with Pikachu! It's Level 6 and the rest of its stats are up to you.

And don't worry. Piper won't be a practice target. ]

[Jason can't help but grin when the Pikachu accepts his offer. He reaches up and scratches at his head again.]
