The vast wilderness beckons! Beginning January 25th, 2014, all wild Pokémon threads that aren't incorporated as part of another post should go here. You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

Please respond to the correct Week if possible for organizational purposes.

[... well, talk about a mess. After their encounter with Nidoking, other teams shut down the machines, so you'd think things went back to normal... but of course that'd be asking too much. When he comes out, some of the towers are still shaky, the streets are still in disaray, isolated wild pokemon from the hordes that rushed out earlier are still milling the streets here and there as people round them up...

Looks like it'll take a while.

He stretches--and winces a little from light pain in his ankle. Yeah that'll take a few days to heal fully. Let's hope Atsuro didn't notice]

[Luckily for you, Atsuro's too busy observing the mess too to notice your wincing. He looks a little crestfallen.]

The quakes sure did a number on the city... I hope no one's been hurt. Seriously, at least.

... The Pokemon might be dangerous, too... Not as much since they're not in hordes at least, individuals generally act less aggressively, but they're probably all scared and confused, and might still attack people out of sheer panic. I hope there were orders for those without Pokemon of their own to stay somewhere safe.

Gods, good thing we went down when we did. Just imagine if Nidoking had come up in the middle of this.

[He gives a nervous laugh]

[And he quickly changes the subject]

Isn't miss Mary amazing? She managed to talk it down and even bond with it!

... I still wonder where it got things like Thunderbolt from, though.

[He holds up his hand in a sign to be silent, suddenly perfectly still, ears attentive. They don't actually move, but that's still the feeling you'll get.

After a few seconds, his eyes move in the direction of a spot towards his left and back, but he doesn't move yet]

[He opens his mouth, about to deliver a lecture on why it's Important To Know How Pokemon Can Learn Moves They Are Not Naturally Predisposed To, but freezes too at your sign, confusion, worry, and a hint of fear shadowing over his expression. He tenses up, instinctively taking on a fighting position.]

{Meanwhile, you can still hear those tiny movement noises for a while - before it grows quiet and tense when it realizes your conversation stopped so abruptly for a reason. It really hopes it's not the reason.}

[Once it's sure of its location, he starts talking again as if nothing was up]

Well, I'm glad he's with her anyway. She'll be safer that way.

[And start walking towards the source of the noise idly]

[Thankfully, Atsuro is rather quick on the uptake so he joins the conversation again instead of trying to point out that "Kaido we were going the OTHER way".]

Heh, I don't think miss Mari is ever in much danger with her abilities. But I know what you mean. I wonder what they bonded over, though...

{The presence relaxes a little, but some doubts are still eating at it. You didn't notice it, right? You're just happening to walk in this direction, right? That must be it, surely. Surely.}

[His eyes are scanning the area, looking for the source of the noise. It should be pretty small...]

[He follows after you]

Yeah, me too. Still, that was amazing! I wish I could talk to Pokemon like her, too.

{And you're in luck with this, Kaido - it moves again out of fear after hearing the word Pokemon. They're not talking about it, are they?}

[And he crouches to cut off its path. Not actively threatening, but still very much in the way]

{It's a Scraggy! If you know the name, that is. It looks frightened and on the verge of panic--

At least, for the few seconds it actually stays frozen with fear. And then it's like something inside it snaps, and it lunges at you - out of panic and desperation, mostly. Not a special move, but those teeth still look pretty threatening!}

[Woah--he's ready for it, thankfully, and blocks with his arm--it'll get scratched by those teeth, but nothing worse thankfully]

[If he just lets it go it'll go run and hide into another corner, and the next person who comes along might not be as well prepared. So he's staying in the way, and--an idea hits him]

Calm down.

[He'll release his Band and try to reach to it. He's never really used it in that way, but if Mari did...

He throws some of his own feelings at it. Being tired after a hard fight. The frustration of knowing you're overpowered, and still fighting despite that. His desire to be powerful, and to protect those he considers family.

We're in the same fucking boat, now calm down.]

{What you'll encounter first is more fear and confusion and panic, and more attempts to strike at you - but when the Scraggy notices you aren't fighting back it'll start to calm down. Your feelings are mirrored back at you, with addition of fear and desperate resolve of a last attempt at fighting... And what resonates most and rises out of that sea of emotions is the yearning for power, not as aggressive as yours but just as focused and unyielding. Can you guide it to power?}

[A side smirk grows on his face. Not threatening, but more of a that's more like it.

He'll help you get stronger all right. His two biggest desires revolve around it, it's a prerequisite for him. And he thinks you two can help each other.

Starting off with a week of intensive training

{Well, who knows what your actual intent was, Kaido, but Scraggy is climbing onto your shoulders. Enjoy additional ten kilos on them.}

[Meanwhile Atsuro has been staring at the whole thing, unsure what to do at first - he was going to jump in if something went wrong and you were in danger, but once the bonding's gone successfully, he beams at you and almost claps his hands]

[He pauses with his enthusiasm then, though]

... Are you sure you should be carrying it like that, though? Not to diminish your good intentions, but weren't you hurt yourself?
