The vast wilderness beckons! Beginning January 25th, 2014, all wild Pokémon threads that aren't incorporated as part of another post should go here. You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

Please respond to the correct Week if possible for organizational purposes.

Hot Springs

[Taking a dip in the Hot Springs is nice and all, but after that time someone managed to piss off four Feraligatr during a beach trip, Jade isn't about to let his guard down until he's sure the area is clear of dangerous Pokemon. A little excitement is fun, but he vastly prefers not ending up as a snack when he's trying to get some R&R.]

[Which is why he's patrolling the area, trying to see past the thick curtain of steam to inspect the native Pokemon. Unfortunately, his own Pokemon doesn't share his caution. Sandshrew is busy cannonballing into the hot water whenever she has the chance, and Fletchinder swoops in lazy circles overhead, occasionally expelling an ember from its beak.]

[ At the edge of the Hot Springs there seems to be an egg (though the egg seems to end near the top and there is some pale yellow in its place). It doesn't move, at least until Sandshrew canonballs into some hot water.

Then the egg shakes a little bit as it begins to topple over and is about to fall into the water. Save it? ]

[The shaking catches his eye, and he pauses for a moment, wondering if it's worth the bother to save it when it's halfway across the Springs.]

[Thankfully, he's spared the bother of deciding as Sandshrew resurfaces, paddling to shore to start nosing at the "egg". Can she eat it???]

[ The egg topples over in the other direction when Sandshrew pokes it. Sadly, it is not actually edible unless Sandshrew wants to still eat it after little arms and legs are suddenly poking out of the shell.

And the top part opens up and the egg Pokemon revealed itself in full and tries to get back up. ]

[Unfortunately for the egg Pokemon, Sandshrew has decided that rolling it around is fun and proceeds to try topple it over again.]

[Jade just watches, slowly heading closer, ready to intercede if the Pokemon seems dangerous.]

[ Frightened the Pokemon wails a little before closing back up again. It does not like being toppled over and instead tries to roll away only to hit a rock behind it.

And then sniffling from inside the egg. ]

[The sniffling only encourages Sandshrew, who then tries to roll it into the Hot Springs.]

[Jade thinks about interceding once again but then decides, nah, too much effort. Not to mention it's amusing to watch.]

[ It rolls into the hot springs and the Pokemon opens itself up with surprise from the sudden hot water.

Though it's only a moment before it realizes that this hot water feels like and that it's floating in the water and relaxes. It's helping soothing the bump it took before.

And, not knowing any better, actually thanks Sandshrew for rolling it into the spring. ]

[Sandshrew takes being thanked in stride, diving down to paddle around next to the Togepi. How nice, she has a gullible new friend to play with. Jade, for his part, finally walks to the edge of the Hot Springs, staring at the two of them with avid interest and activates his Warp Band.]

Would you like to come with us?

[He could always do with new Pokemon to study. Already, he's wondering what he'll find if he peels that shell away...]

[ Togepi watches as Sandshrew paddles around it finding it both amusing and fun before Jade speaks. It turns and stares at him for a moment before waving its little arms excitedly. ]

I wanna come I wanna come!

[oh no how cute]

[Unfortunately, Jade doesn't have a soul, so he doesn't even think that. Instead, he marvels at how easy it is to win a Pokemon's friendship even after they had been bullied just a few moments ago.]

I'm glad to hear it.

[ Togepi waves its arms around happily a bit more. All it really cares about is that fact that it has friends now.

Or well... "friends".

Congrats! You have officially bonded with Togepi! It is Level 11 and the rest of its stats are up to you.

Just try not to boil it as one of your experiments. ]
