The vast wilderness beckons! Beginning January 25th, 2014, all wild Pokémon threads that aren't incorporated as part of another post should go here. You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

[Garen has made it out to the so called Moss Rock himself after learning a bit more about it to discover it's location in the Verdant Forest. Granted it is apparently sanctioned as non-hazardous by the Council but one can't be too careful and thusly he strides forth calmly with his Honedge drifting behind, and occasionally hanging idly as it scans the area for something that might catch Garen's interest.

But really, he wants to inspect the rock itself, the greenery here seemed much more vibrant and he is allowed curiosities; one of the few things if one believes rumors.]

[The Moss Rock is large, rocky, and mossy. Whoever bequeathed upon it its epithet had a penchant for descriptive names. As Garen has already noted, the area around this rock seems more verdant than the rest of the forest.

As Garen steps around the rock, he may notice a few smaller rocks scattered around its base - brownish, with strange green spots.]

[Odd, to say the least. Motioning his Honedge closer, Garen kneels as his attention is finally drawn to the small rocks, and picks one up for a closer look; these spots might be troublesome if they spread easily.]

[Unfortunately, when Garen reaches down for the rocks, he will find them awfully spongy.

And awfully annoyed.

As the Pokemon is plucked out of the ground, it grunts in irritation and spews a cloud of spores straight into Garen's face! A wild Shroomish has appeared!]

[Needless to say, he staggers back, dropping the Shroomish angrily as he rubs at his eyes.]

Metal Sound! Swords Dance!

[The Honedge does as bade, though Metal Sound would be more useful if it's partner Magnemite were around honestly. But Swords Dance should prove deathly useful if Garen orders an attack, particularly if it's Fury Cutter. However, the Sword of the Savior raises a hand to halt the approaching blade, his eyes clear enough to see his Warp Band and activate it. Firing a pulse at the Pokémon, he will give it a chance to, briefly, answer for itself.]

State your business for being here.

[Garen will read the emotion of irritation quite clearly as the Shroomish snorts and spews more spores around. The other Shroomish, as Garen will note once his eyesight recovers, have scattered.

It lives here, obviously. What does it look like it's doing?]

You live here?

[While Garen sounds unimpressed, it's because he's thinking hard. Partnering with someone that knows the forest well, especially this new area would be most beneficial if something odd happens.]

Why don't we partner up? We can help eachother keep an eye on the forest.

[Garen will get the mental equivalent of an eye-roll. ...Actually, he just gets an eye-roll from the perpetually grouchy Pokemon. Why in the world should it partner up with something it's just met?]

A little less skepticism would be better. Don't you want to become stronger? What if someone attempts to invade on your friend's territory? Don't you want to be powerful enough to ward them off?

[This was turning into a bread-and-butter recruitment speech for the Swords, and he found it ironic, but he is quite serious about his words. The Honedge nods, as well as one of it's kind can, to back Garen up.]

[Shroomish eyes him with a continual critical expression.

Isn't that... what it was doing to him?

This was getting kind of strange. You're a strange human and it's remembering now the old warnings about not talking to strangers.]

No! I am investigating this because it is close to my home! I didn't know what sort of threats were out here until I looked. So far other than mean-spirited Pokémon it seems acceptable to not worry about.

[You shot spores in his eyes, he's a little iffy on that still. His Honedge moves in closer, saying that he means well, he just gets carried away sometimes when he's worried.]

[Shroomish blinks at the Honedge for a moment or two.

It should keep a tighter leash on its humans. Pokemon would be liable to get the wrong idea about this.]

[The Honedge nods. It could use a hand though. A pun since it does have something hand-like. After a moment longer, it suggests to the Shroomish to come along with them. It would add a new perspective and might lighten Garen up some. Speaking of, the Sword of the Savior has stopped talking, watching the display with a bit of interest since his Honedge was doing better with communications than he was.]

[Mmmmm...

Shroomish blinks its unimpressed eyes for a moment or two before asking - just to make sure, they're going to be protecting this rock as well in addition to the City, right?]

[Of course, as Garen also keeps a close watch on the Old City; where his partner Magnemite comes from.]

Well, Eckhard?

[It holds it's tassel up in a halting motion to Garen, this was important, as can be easily inferred. It reiterates that yes, the Moss Rock would be protected as well as Union City. He took a lot of pride in the fact he serves his people.]

[Hmmmmmmm.

Well. OK. Someone needs to keep the human from assaulting Pokemon in their homes. Shroomish gives something of a long suffering sigh. It supposes it will need to be the hero Garen never asked for.

Shroomish has decided to train Garen! It will be Level 7 but the rest of its stats are up to you!]
