The vast wilderness beckons! Beginning January 25th, 2014, all wild Pokémon threads that aren't incorporated as part of another post should go here. You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

Please respond to the correct Week if possible for organizational purposes.

Verdant Forest East

[BABY'S FIRST TRIP OUTSIDE THE CITY OMG. Kairi walks through the forest, totally alert, with her Cleffa in her arms.

She's nervous, but the short sword at her side and the presence of her first Pokefriend gives her a little confidence.]

[Confidence is klefki key when it comes to the wilderness outside of Union. That and a good, solid back up plan. Maybe the ability to run really fast, too.

Every now and then, the occasional rustle or twig snap reaches Kairi's ears, enough that she should be alert or almost on edge. Luckily, it doesn't sound like anything big.]

[She can run pretty fast. She raced against boys, after all! She's also not too scared of tiny things in the bushes-- in fact, she's curious. When it seems like whatever it is won't just walk away, she stops and gently places Minnie on the ground.]

Is someone there?

[She presses a finger to her temple, trying to see if she can sense anything from the brush. It might be a wild Pokemon, but it might be in need of help, too. She's never used her empathic link like this before.]

[It won't walk away, no. In fact, it will do the opposite and roll towards her, bushes parting as it emerges to stop directly in her path. The wild Seedot lays in its side and stares at her.

Then suddenly it pops up on to its feet and lets out a cry. It might even be in greeting.]

[Kairi leans down to get a better look, and to make herself seem less threatening. When it pops up onto its feet though, she squeaks-- and then laughs at how spooked she was. It clearly doesn't mean any harm.

Minnie the Cleffa is going to investigate. Minnie is nice, too, and kind of nurturing despite how small she is.]

Hello there. [Kairi holds out her hand.] I'm Kairi. It's nice to meet you! This is Minnie-- she's my best friend.

[She might not be able to understand Pokemon language, but she can feel them all the same.]

[The Seedot looks at her and toddles forward, only stopping when Minnie reaches it. The two stare at each other for a moment, then the Seedot makes a noise once more, this one sounding friendlier.]

It must be lonely out here. Why don't you come with me and Minnie? We're going to see the world and find our friends.

[Minnie tries to give the acorn Pokemon a hug. This may or may not go well. At least... she's fluffy...

Kairi could use the warp band at this point, but she feels that she doesn't need to, especially with her empathic bond. She wants to figure out the full extent of her Enlightened powers without relying on technology too much.]

[Said acorn Pokemon takes a step back when the pink, fluffy thing reaches forward. It's a bit too late, though, and Minnie's Bind Attack is Super Effective!

Seedot just stands there appearing quite unsure about this new development. Seriously, what is even happening?]

[heartsurgery]

[Don't you want a good snuggle, Seedot? No? Well, too bad.]

Okay, Minnie. That's long enough. You can let him go now.

[... Minnie gives a tiny little sigh, but does end up letting the acorn Pokemon go.]

So, how about it? Union is a wonderful place, but traveling's even better. We can all grow up big and strong.

[Seedot looks disoriented. If Minnie was going for confusion, it worked quite well. When Kairi speaks, the Pokemon regains some composure, inspecting her curiously.]

Seedo? [What sort of travels?]

[She doesn't quite understand Pokemon language, but she can feel Seedot's questioning.]

We'll go anywhere you want. I used to live on an island, and I'd like to go back... but other than that, the sky's the limit.
