[As the people of Union begin to move out into the plains, they'll find that the Councilor's warnings were apt. Though not everyone is targeted, it isn't long before a few unlucky travelers find themselves on the receiving end of the same type of attack. The bandits, whoever they might be, are experts at swooping out of the blue, striking so swiftly that the victims almost never even catch a glimpse of them.

How exactly will they put this to a stop? There's so many, it seems impossible to take them out one group at a time... Perhaps they have a base somewhere.]

Who: Pamela Isley and OPEN
What: Pamela’s 19th birthday party. Everyone is invited.
When: July 18th
Where: The Isley manor

[Although Pamela’s mother Cordelia Isley is a known socialite, the Isleys don’t often throw parties – or not large ones, anyhow. Pamela’s father Walter Isley is a high ranking Engineer and a workaholic, so most Isley parties are just small affairs organized solely by Cordelia, or sometimes by Pamela’s grandparents, Hugh and Jocasta. In the latter case, the parties tend to be for an older crowd.

In light of Pamela’s nineteenth birthday, her recent evolution, and her involvement in the diplomatic relations between Union and Caldera, her grandparents felt generous and decided to throw a large party. Pamela herself had been hoping for a small event, but her grandparents and mother were having none of it. So Pamela took it upon herself to personally improve her grandparents’ front yard and garden. There’s a long winding path leading up to the Isley home, thoroughly adorned with flowers that are in full bloom.

The invitation was extended to everyone in Union as well as their Calderan visitors. Although nowhere near the entire city is here, there’s still a fairly large turnout of people from all social stations ranging from poor to nobility.

Hey! How are you guys doing?

[The video shows the cheerful face of Goku today, looking like he just got done with a workout.]

Y'see, Machop and I have been putting in some extra training and he sorta wants to test his strength against someone else. He could just fight me all day, but-! [He looks over and grins at Machop for a second.] I think a little variety would do him some good. So if anyone wants to, he'll be ready to go tomorrow. I think he needs a little breather for now. I sure did give him a good workout today, right Machop? [As to which the pokémon responds happily.]

Oh, and something else- [But before Goku has a chance to finish his sentence, there's a resounding CRASH from behind, to which he turns around. From behind Goku's head is a giant mess of pots and pans that had come crashing down from above the stove, and Klink looking very guilty.]

Waaaaahhhh! Klink, you gotta be a little more careful! It's alright, I'll get it in a second. [Turning back around-] Well, what I was gunna ask if if anyone had anything to help Klink from running into stuff all the time, he tries his hardest but I can't seem to manage to get him to stop running into things... [Pamela looks quite different on this warp band broadcast. Her eyes are much lighter, she's lost the glasses, and her skin's quite pale - it's almost white with a slight greenish hue. Her hair even grew a few inches. In fact, someone who didn't know her well probably wouldn't recognize her until she starts speaking.]

'Tis the season to evolve, it seems. I'm going to need a mostly new wardrobe - at least for the things I can't just have altered. I'd welcome some company.

[Her Roselia nudges her shoulder insistently and pipes up. Those who understand Pokemon will hear him saying "The party, Pamela! You promised!" Pamela sighs a bit but smiles shortly afterward.]

Yes, Basil, I won't forget. My family is insisting that I have a big party for my birthday this year. It's a month from now and I'm extending a formal invitation to everyone. Please RSVP with at least five days' notice if you'll be coming for dinner. Otherwise, there will be a buffet.

[Basil nods approvingly and Pamela disconnects the video feed.]

[Action - Out in a clearing in the Verdant Forest near Union's walls]

[She'd thought about asking, but in the end decided to see what she could do on her own with the Leaf element enhanced sword she'd been given for her part in aiding Caldera.

It's quite apparent that she's a beginner. She's got a basic grasp of "aim the pointy end at the opponent" and her footwork isn't awful solely because she knows how to dance. There's some grace to her movements. Just not much skill. Anyone who knows what they're doing could disarm her very quickly.

Her Gloom, a baby Oddish, her Roselia, a baby Scyther and her Venusaur are sitting back and watching her with some mild amusement. Sage the Venusaur lets out a little warning growl when he hears someone approaching. Pamela stops what she's doing and glances in the direction Sage is indicating.

[This is a Nidorina. This is a Nidorina with a thin chain around her neck, a Razor Claw hanging from it like a pendant. But that's not the point.

The point is that anyone familiar with a certain Shifter may notice that the look on this Nidorina's face is very similar to the look on a certain Nidoran♀'s face. A look of utter exasperation but restrained fondness for whomever is holding the Warp Band. Oh Blue Rose, you and your utterly strange relationship with Nero. She just evolved and she's still giving him those looks.]

So, guess who's... Don't look at me like that, Blue. Remember who's going to make you freaking queen soon.

Promises. If you were, you'd have done it by now.

[That makes Nero snort.] Okay, so you don't appreciate being adored. I'll just show them something better.

[Nero props his Warp Band on something, making the feed jump for a bit, and when he comes into the picture, it's fairly obvious what that "something" is. His right arm had changed. Before, it was blue (a dark shade of grey in the feed), roughly textured, with claws instead of nails, but now it had an addition-- small triangular fin attached to the fore-arm. Or rather, the fin had grown out of the arm. Not to mention the claws at the end of his fingers have gotten just a bit larger and sharper.

Clearly Blue Rose isn't the only one to have evolved.

With an inordinately pleased look on his face, Nero flexes his improved arm and punches the air with it. Anyone expecting the fin to flap around with the exercise will be disappointed, because it's extremely stiff.]

There's got to be something about the Caldera air if Blue and I evolved at the same time. Not that I'm complaining. [He smiles wide, a huge grin that shows off a bunch of sharp teeth.] Arm's gotten heavier, and is awful on clothes, but a guy can definitely get used to this. I'm gonna have a whole lot of fun with this arm.

Just don't cut yourself shaving.

And don't wear yourself out trying to be a buzzkill, Blue.

So, I have a couple evolution-related announcements. The first is that I'm now partnered with the most elegant Pokémon in the world, Miss Himiko here.

[The Gardevoir takes a bow.]

The second is I think I evolved myself!

[She turns the camera around to give it a smile and a look at her face, which honestly doesn't look any different other than boasting bigger hair ties.]

I was in Caldera for my sixteenth birthday, but the morning of I swear my hair got about a foot longer and I grew three inches all at once. Also some other stuff I'm not talking about over the Warp Band, so don't ask, 'kay?

Plus, I can see more stuff without, you know, seeing it now. Items and things and not just people and Pokémon. Actually, I guess if it wasn't for that the rest of this could just be puberty giving me an encore, but apparently that's normal for Normal-types evolving...

Morning, everyone. I'm Banzu.

["Morning" being around 11:30, but it technically counts.]

By now I'm sure you've all heard about the island that was discovered recently, and you've prolly heard from the people who've been that it's a really nice place. Trouble is, if you ain't bonded with a Pokémon that can carry you there or know someone who has, you can't get there. I've got a solution to that.

[He reaches for the Warp Band and turns it to show a miniature steamboat floating in a large glass punchbowl of water sitting on his cleared-off workbench. It may surprise some viewers when they notice that the boat is made of metal. Science!]

This is a model of a boat that can safely carry people to and from the island. Not just the island either; when it's done I'll make it available to groups that wanna search for other islands or go farther along the coast. [For a reasonable fee, of course.] Since the water near the shore won't be deep enough for it, I'm going to have to build a small facility on the coast to be able to build and use it, otherwise people will have to swim out to it just to get on. If you're thinking this sounds like a big job, you're right. That's why I'm looking to hire help gathering materials and for construction. If you or anyone you know'd be interested, get in touch with me.

[He pauses to give everyone time to digest that before continuing.]

But since I'm building this place anyway, I wanted to make a suggestion to everyone:

What if we set up a permanent settlement on the shore?

This is more than just making it easier to get to the island, this could open up a lot of possibilities: a safe place to fish would bring Union more food, a permanent research facility would let researchers find out more about Pokémon that live in the sea, extra protected space would let Union grow its population, and a settlement this close to Union would make good practice for building settlements that're a lot farther away. I bet a lot of you could come up with other things to do with a settlement like this. Building this facility is one thing though. Building an entire settlement is beyond what I can do. There's a ton of details and questions I don't know to ask, and questions I know to ask but not the answers. For example, would a settlement need walls? The guys from Team Evolution say they don't have any; can we do the same without using their methods? Can we clear and secure a route between Union and the settlement so that people who aren't trainers could get there safely? That's something for the Rangers to answer. I'm gonna build this boat no matter what, but it'd be easier to build and use with a permanent settlement on the shore and it could be good for everyone to have it. This could be the first step into expanding beyond the walls. Start thinking about it.

For now though I'm looking to hire people to help me get iron from the mines, that stronger wood from the island, and some regular wood from the forest. I'll be looking to hire people to help me build stuff once I've got materials too. Anyone who's interested lemme know.

[He reaches for the camera.]

[Action; streets of Union]

[Anyone out and about in the streets of Union today will likely catch sight of a rather energetic young trainer and her Pokemon jogging all throughout the city.  It's a daily ritual for Chie and her Tyrogue, both of them needing a healthy amount of physical activity to keep their muscles firm and toned.  The two of them push as hard as they can, each one momentarily overcoming the other as they race.  For anyone who bothers to watch this in action, there's also a Phanpy doing its best to keep up, as well as a fat Lillipup strolling along casually at a much greater distance, periodically yawning and getting lapped by its trainer and companions.

Eventually, all of them slow to a stop, resting on a bench somewhere in the Entertainment District.  The Phanpy flops over exhausted, the Tyrogue sits down and immediately begins doing cool down stretches and massaging its legs, and the Lillipup curls up at Chie's feet to take a nap.  Chie herself just drapes her arms across the back of the bench, leaning her head back as she catches her breath.]
