Book 002 [Video]
Union?
[It was a rare day when Waver Velvet addressed the public of Union as a whole, but this day something about him seemed off. He seemed more bothered, more irritable than normal-- not that the little Nincada that was sitting on his head seemed to care. It drummed it's little feet happily on Waver's head, glad to be there for it's trainer in this strange time.
Heaving a sigh, Waver continued:]
Let's take a poll. Who here has been having weird dreams for the last couple of days? I need to know for academic reasons.
[...And, that was all. Waver scratched his cheek, feeling awkward and embarrassed about this entire problem that he was having.]
Don't worry about when you reply. I don't think I'll be getting to sleep any time soon.
[And, with that, the feed abruptly shut off.
Respond, Union?]

I'm guessing 'not the typical weird' is what you're looking at. I'm having some pretty dark dreams lately.

[His question, though somewhat rough, was completely honest. In his experience, he either slept soundly without bother or didn't sleep at all because his mind was turning over the various tasks and problems that he needed to work through the next day. Being bothered by dreams was new for him--
Pardon the note taking, Sinbad. Waver wasn't lying when he said he needed to know for academic reasons.]

I mean dreams like 'walking outside and realize you forgot your pants', or 'you're a waiter serving the council, but the chef's a slowpoke so nothing's coming out on time'. That kind of weird.

Nothing here. Dreamless as of late for me.
Video;
[He frowned, trying to see the pattern that he knew to be there....but, he just didn't have the data.]
The last few days have been a lot of unsettling images, though. I can't really make anything out clearly, but it just feels wrong.

She hadn't wanted to talk about them, least of all publicly until she was more certain that they weren't some bizarre anxiety manifestation, but... this was Waver.
And also being from Sanctuary, she should know better than to pay attention to signs. So a response it is.]
... so it's happening to you as well, then?

[Irritable from lack of sleep, his tone came out as snappish-- and he quickly took a breath to remedy this.]
...That's a yes, and it sounds like you are too.
Do you want to meet somewhere private? We don't have to talk about it like this.

[Sorry, Waver. A seemingly "random" question like that, cloaked with the intent of research? He wasn't as subtle as he thought he was. Or she had just been hanging around him too much.
In any case, it definitely wasn't something she wanted to speak about over the network, so she's relieved at his response.]
Are you at the office? I could pick up some coffee on my way over, unless you'd like to meet somewhere else.

[Duo was curious, too.]

[He doesn't exactly have the patience to be answering questions like this, as he was now more annoyed when he realized that the ghost of the Savior herself had implied that he was a friendless weirdo.]
Re: [ video ]
Then, you've got slightly more weird... like purple sky, and chocolate milk oceans...
Or, you have really weird... as in like ominous messages of coming doom.

Yes. And i don't know why. Do you know something?
[For 'academic reasons', of course. Waver made another tally mark on his sheet before he continued.]
We haven't met before, have we? My name's Waver Velvet, and I'm with the Rangers.
Re: [video]
[ He almost bows into the video feed as he moves to greet Waver formally. ]
So, you think it is an Ill omen then?

[ Scrabbling, then flashes of bright colors (patterns?). Then the world is a blur as seen around some sort of green-and-yellow object. It steadies into the view of a hallway behind whoever's carrying this Warp Band as there's a rapping on an unseen door. Trainer? Trainer, you should see this. ] Lea lea.
[ Does that answer your question re: the people at the theater? ]
[Waver had to close his eyes to keep from getting sick at the blur of rapid motion on the camera, and the little Nincada-- as if on some signal-- scurried off of Waver's head as if on a mission. The rapid slamming of the door accompanied by excited squeaking was enough to indicate that the Nincada had left the room.
Meanwhile, Waver was trying to compensate by using his hand to block part of the screen.]
Leavanny, haven't you heard of not answering calls if you're running around?

You think something's up?
[And most importantly: should she stock sleep aids?]

[Waver shrugged, noncommital at this point.]
That's why I'm gathering data.

I would be very interested in any research you're doing on this topic.
Re: [Video]
If I come up with enough data that's worth documenting, I'll be glad to share it.
[It was all dependent on how many responses he got that synced up with each other...and how many calls he had answered by the pokemon instead of their trainer.]

[Waver not-so-discreetly shoves a couple of empty coffee cups that were stacked together out of view of the camera at this, as if he were a child hiding evidence of an inappropriate snack before naptime.]
It's not the usual insomnia, Dr. Mizuno, [he said, as if that clarified things.] I've got that covered. And it's not the quantity of sleep, but the quality of it that's in question here.
