You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

[They do find something!

Sand. They find sand. Lots of sand. Fine sand, finer sand, even finer sand, sand that gets up your nose when you sniff too hard, and sand that gets in your clothes and boots and everywhere.

Isn't this an exciting adventure?]

Sand that Bozu and Chikao are quite eager to point out. And start to complain about again, whiny little rattles warbling from their hollow bean-bag bodies.

It's saaandy it's hooot it's boooring--]

I know, I knoooow, I knoooow. [Dangit. Maya's not used to not being the one whining. So she pops down right where she is in the sand, crossing her arms and pouting at the two banettes-- who seem surprised.]

How about you lead the way then, huh?! [And when she puts her palms down on the sand to lean back and pout... she gets a quick reminder that the sand is hot and ow.

She blows the sand off her palms, whining as her banettes look on in bemusement.

What an adventure this is.]

[As Maya sits in the hot sand, she'll also get a reminder that, as desolate as the environs may seem, life has a way of hanging on even in the toughest of times.

Actually, it's not really a reminder more than it is a poke in the butt.]

[A poke in the butt.

She felt that, right? She felt something... move under her.

She felt something move under her and poke her in the butt.

This is enough prompting to send Maya, hot-sand-on-palms and all, flailing past her banettes, who can't help but jump in surprise as well.]

What was-- what was that?!

^{What was what?} _{We didn't see anything.}

I-It was under me, I swear!

[A green fin has popped up out of the ground underneath Maya.

It's a sand-shark! Run for your lives!

.........Oh wait no it's surfacing now it's just a green dino thing.]

^{Huh. Would you look at that.}_{We found something.}

It's-- wait, isn't that like that one dude and the rapidash we met?

_{I dunno.}^{Didn't meet 'im.}

[Rolling her eyes, she points to the little green dino thing. Rude, Maya.]

Aren't you-- uh... axew?!

...Axew?

[The green dino mimics the sound and cocks its head before giving a shrug. It will proceed to start wandering away. Sorry about your butt, Maya.]

^Wait! Wait! _Wait!

[Simultaneously and in equal amounts of distress, the medium and her pokémon reach after the axew with one hand.

They came all this way.

They have been hot, sandy, tired, and worst of all, bored.

They're not leaving after one word.]

[Boredom is truly the most frightening thing. Axew will pause a little bit and cock its head to the side.

Did they want something?]

What, you poke a girl in the butt and don't even introduce yourself, C'mon, don't you think we deserve to talk, like, at least a little?

[Chikao and Bozu roll their eyes, but are quick to help Maya back to her feet and look imploringly (or at least as much as two large, creepy ghost dolls can) at the axew.]

We came out all this way pretty much just to meet you.

^{Or whoever else showed up.}

[Strangely, Axew doesn't seem to pay much attention to what Maya is saying. Now that it's turned around, its attention has been captivated...

The small Pokemon toddles over and blinks at the two creepy ghost dolls for a moment or two before it reaches over to give both Chikao and Bozu a squeeze.]

[Maya can't do much but stare, more than mildly confused.

More like incredibly.

Chikao and Bozu both ring out startled little warbles, not any more aware than Maya is right now-- but Maya just gives them a shrug. ]

...Maybe he likes toys?

[Axew makes a few murmuring noises to itself before it decides that Chikao is more huggable.

Then it takes its hand and tries to drag it away as it attempts to leave again.]

_H-huh?!

Wait a second--

[As Chikao tries to pull his arm away from Axew, Bozu clings to his brother's other arm-- while Maya tries to get them to stop.]

Don't-- don't stress your seams, come on--

[Hurrying around Axew to cut it off, Maya kneels in front of it.]

Where do you think you're going with my friend there, huh?

[Axew will actually respond to Maya for the first time.

Home!

And Chikao is its friend it wants to play. They can come, too, it guesses, although they're not as squishy and huggable.]

Iii don't think you can drag him back underground-- undersand?-- with you, if that's what you mean.

[Axew will pause.

...Why not?

Home is nice. There's a cool cavern it dug out itself.]

_{Because I can't--} Cos he's a big baby and going through the sand would get him all dusty.

...That, and I can't exactly follow you unless I know where your home is. Iii don't think I can shadow sneak through dunes forever.

_{But we could get there if there was a tunnel!}

[It's much to Chikao's dismay that his bothersome brother chimes in, really.]

[Axew looks a little pouty for a moment or two before he stops trying to kidnap befriend Chikao.

It guesses it can show them a tunnel. But they have to keep it secret, OK?]

_No--Promise!^Promise!

[The ghastly team of stooges has a 2/3 promise majority, so it looks like Chikao loses on this one.

Maya and Bozu, however, look eager to see this tunnel, and in the name of buttering axew up--]

Did you make it yourself? I bet it's amazing.

[Axew cheerfully gives Chikao a squeeze before it toddles off into the desert sands.

It is pretty great and probably no other Pokemon in the whole desert had a cavern so great, but it was nothing. Just hard work and determination and being really cool.

Also they might want to stand back a little.]

[Not ones to ignore warnings-- at least not here-- the spooky team takes a few good strides backward.

Chikao taps his foot and crosses his arms, but Bozu and Maya look on eagerly. What could Axew be planning?]

[Axew will quietly and quickly burrow back down into the sand again.

...Nothing happens for a little while.

Then Maya and company will suddenly feel the ground dropping from underneath them.]

[Needless to say, the trio makes their own respective calls of fright as they fall, because despite the ability most ghosts have to, you know, float, dropping is an entirely different and uncalled for experience.

Hitting the ground will not be a well-enjoyed experience either, especially with the two dolls landing on top of Maya.]
