You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

Glacier

[It's been a long time since Feliks could explore a new place and enjoy it.]

[Sure, he's still got a lot of heavy mission stuff to focus on, what with the refugees and the angry probably-a-god-with-their-luck and all (not to mention with Yuui still missing), but a huge weight has been lifted on him, and without it, even this sort of feels like a vacation. So, after everyone touches down after their long flight, Feliks leaves his Altaria to rest up and takes two other Pokemon with him to do a little looking around -- Jadwiga the Gardevoir, his oldest and most faithful friend, and his Growlithe. Wrapped up in a warm winter coat, a warm pair of fingerless gloves, and a number of scarves, he's protected from the cold, and no further than shouting distance from Fai (and little further from his other traveling companions), he feels safe enough to let himself relax a little exploring the strange new landscape.]

[The smell of smoke and ash permeates the air as the city of Glacier lies quietly burning up ahead. It seems impossible that any native Pokemon would have chosen to stay in this area when they might have fled. At the moment, though, it seems quiet. No sign of the 'dragon' spoken of by the fleeing refugees can be seen apart from the residual flames.

As he cautiously begins to peer around, Feliks will eventually notice some faint crimson driplets dotting the less-than pristine surface of the snow.]

[As Feliks stands taking in the ruined city in the distance and reminding himself of why they're here, his Growlithe is the first to notice the traces of red in the snow, barking softly until he gets Feliks's attention.]

[That's definitely not a good sign. With all the refugees around, someone could have been hurt in the attacks (or by wild Pokemon after being driven out of the city) and be hiding, or worse. Even if it's not a human, it looks bad for someone. Feliks takes a moment to put a comforting hand on the top of Jadwiga's head, then starts trying to pick up a trail from the droplets in the snow.]

[With Growlithe around, they're sure to be able to track down the mystery wounded victim fairly quickly, though it hardly seems necessary. The blood seems to have flown off a running animal nearby - to the side, they'll find the footprints, though they're not clear enough to be distinctive apart from that there's probably four legs involved.

The blood splatters become larger as they follow the trail out away from the city. It leads into a thick copse of evergreens, laden with snow.]

[Feliks isn't really a seasoned tracker or anything, so he can't even really tell that much from the tracks with much certainty. Still, he shows no hesitation whatsoever in following the trail onward into the trees, brushing away snow-heavy branches with one hand as the other wraps around himself to keep his warmth in. Jadwiga glides by on top of the snow beside him, hardly making any indentation in it at all, while Growlithe bounds a few steps ahead of them, sinking in with every step.]

[The area grows dark quickly under the thick and heavy limbs of the trees. It's easy to see why a wounded animal might retreat to this place for shelter - though it's also easy to see that it might not be a good idea to venture too far into the woods alone.

The bloodtrail eventually veers off into some thick bushes, impossible to gaze through by eye. It might be his imagination, but they seem to be shaking slightly.]

[For just a moment, Feliks does hesitate. It's dark, and this feels like a bad place to go wandering too far alone, and wounded Pokemon can be dangerous -- but he doesn't want to risk leaving someone injured to the elements while he stands around waiting for backup.]

[He takes his Warp Band and taps out a text message to Fai: hey babe i think a pokemons hurt out here? but i dont wanna go too far in these woods without u. u know which way i went, and the big trees and my bootprints should be super obvious, so can you come out here plz?]

[Assured that the cavalry will come for him pretty fast if things do go bad out here (and that Jadwiga knows Teleport, anyway), he goes ahead and tries to get a look into the bushes anyway.]

[The moment his hand brushes against the bushes, something bellows and steamrolls out as if attempting to make the first strike. If Feliks doesn't retreat fast enough, he might be bowled over by the force.

His Pokemon, though will have a excellent glimpse of an angry moose-like creature. Dark liquid oozes across its side where a massive gash is visible.

It looks vaguely surprised - but it rears again and attempts to stomp on whatever's closest, Feliks or one his Pokemon.]

[It is probably a mark of a fairly gaping flaw in Feliks's character that his only thought as he's half-knocked, half-stumbles out of the way is hahaha oops.]

[Jadwiga disappears and reappears perched in the nearest tree at a safe distance, but Growlithe can't teleport, so getting clear of the angry Pokemon is a tougher job for him. He tries to get in front of Feliks to protect him, but Feliks is having none of it, and tackles him down into the snow off to the side of where the Pokemon's hooves come down just inches to his own side.]

Get out of here -- go get Fai!

[The Growlithe yelps out a protest as he gets up, but Feliks gives him another shove out of the way before rolling over onto his back in the snow, activating his Warp Band in the wild Pokemon's direction.]

Go!

[Then he focuses his attention on thinking at the Pokemon as he scrambles to his feet, doing his best to transmit goodwill and intent to help above all else.]

[The Stantler is terribly angry, so much so that Feliks may struggle with his own intended emotions at first. There are other alternating, wild emotions - veering between heightened fear and pain and something vaguely resembling despair, though the Pokemon is too wild to express that very clearly.

It will hurt someone - it will hurt like it has been hurt, like the strangers who have come to hurt its home.

Bowing its head now, it thrusts out its antlers and bellows once more. Not to spear Feliks, but to use the instinctive defensive technique of all Stantler. If he gazes upon it, he will feel his thoughts beginning to lose coherence rapidly.]

[All that anger and fear and pain in his head is hard to think past, especially while trying not to get antlered. He steps backwards away from the Pokemon, eyes steady on it, gathering his willpower.]

Jadwiga, Heal Pulse like five minutes ago!

[As the Growlithe finally scampers away to find Fai and the Gardevoir sends out healing energy towards the inured Pokemon, Feliks tries again. My friends and I will not hurt you. We don't want more pain, we can help -- please let us help!

[You know how quickly Fai is going to get on it the moment he gets that text? Pretty damn quick, that's what. He can't Teleport directly there, since he's not entirely sure of the location, but Feliks isn't hard to follow. Meaning he turns up to find his boyfriend cornered by an angry, hurt pokémon.

It takes all his self control not to lash out at the thing to get it to back off. That's a feral reaction, and it might be okay when you're all alone in the wilds, but he's supposed to know better now. So instead he keeps out of the way, only raising a psychic barrier around Feliks just in case. It won't hold for any substantial blow, but at least it might lessen the damage made somewhat.]

Feliks. [Reaching out a hand to restrain Feliks' poor Growlithe a bit, he hangs back.]

[The fact that she was out here on this trip at all was fairly shocking circumstances for Raine. She had barely seen anything beyond Sanctuary's towers before, so the change in scenery, even from what she had observed on the way to Union, was a lot to take in.

That aside, during one of the camping times and within safe distance of those accompanying her, she takes a better look at the surroundings. Even with her layers it's hard not to feel the cold. Just another new experience.]

[As Raine looks around, she'll find a set of tracks leading away into a small clearing, the cloven hooves of a quadrupedal Pokemon marring the snow. Upon closer inspection, it seems the creature is moving with a limb, one print seeming to drag along the ground at an odd angle.]

[Mindful of her distance to the others, she frowns, before continuing to follow the trail of prints. There didn't seem to be other prints in the area, so was this pokemon injured, and alone?]

[The trail leads into that small stand of frost-covers trees. The sound of ice creaking in the boughs of the canopy sets an eerie tone, a groaning orchestra playing winter's natural concerto. The tracks lead to a huge old oak that'd fallen, finally snapping under the weight of ice and years. It's hollow in there, a wide gash rotted out of the once mighty tree.

And from inside? A plaintive bleating, echoing through the chamber.]

[Not being able to see the pokemon immediately was a concern. though the sounds of it were definitely ones of distress. That was something Raine was familiar with.

The question of how aggressive it would be toward a human depended on the nature of the injury, and perhaps familiarity as well. She casts a small glow of light around her, one to help her see and allow the creature to see her better, and to keep her companions aware of where she was. Just in case.

That done she steps closer to the fallen oak, cautiously peeking inside.]

[Inside, she'll see a pokemon peering out at her. One leg is plainly hurt, a twist or something at the knee joint making it hard to wobble.

It doesn't seem aggressive, it just looks at the human with wide, unblinking eyes.]

[Is too bright? She softens the glow as she gets a better look at the pokemon's situation, stepping in closer before pausing, trying to keep a respectable distance. The clarity of the tracks at least meant that it hadn't been holed up in here like this for too long, but...

Really it's a matter of trying how to best convey her intentions. She moves her gaze from it's face, and toward the injured leg.]

May I come closer? I may be able to help.

[The Sawsbuck doesn't move too much, but it does slide it's injured leg out for the human to inspect.]

Saws...

[If you help it, then it will be most grateful. It's obviously a little scared, a nervousness about it, but it's also aware that it is trapped.]

Easy now...

[She moves all the way forward at that acknowledgement, kneeling to take a better look at the injury.]

It doesn't seem to be broken... a sprain maybe? Or... hmm. [She gently checks to make sure there's nothing extra aggravating the knee.]

[It's just twisted, ultimately, which is what her Analysis will grant her. It probably stepped in a hole, but either way with the trouble going on around here and hungry hunters? Without some help it's probably a goner.

It shivers slightly, but looks at Raine somewhat expectantly.]

[Well Raine didn't come all this way to not help. Once she's finished examining to her satisfaction, she glances back up toward it's face.]

It'll be fine, I promise.

[Then, holding her hands out and closing her eyes briefly to concentrate, she sends a wave of healing energy out towards the pokemon. At the very least, it should help with the pain, but hopefully it would alleviate some of the swelling of the injury.]

[It does help. The Sawsbuck sighs happily as the pressure is released, and then it leans it's head forward to nuzzles Raine's hand. Right around the Warp Band.

A long, pink tongue flicks out to lick her hand as well.

Seems like you've made a friend. You might want to try that newfangled doohicky.]
