The vast wilderness beckons! Beginning January 25th, 2014, all wild Pokémon threads that aren't incorporated as part of another post should go here. You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

July 22nd

[Nate looked out onto the rolling plains, eyes wide with amazement. Even since coming to Union, most of what he'd seen were mountains, rocky areas, and forests. This... this was an all new experience for him.

At his side, of course, were Axew and Timburr, both preferring to walk free. He smiled, knowing he could trust the former to control himself now; they'd finally reached an accord.

With a nod to both his partners, Nate began to walk again; there was a whole new area to explore, and for once, he was on top of things]

July 22nd

[As he walks, Nate will notice a Pokemon sitting on top of a rock, casually nibbling on some greens.]

[it's Timburr who alerts Nate to the presence of the Pokemon. Axew is off a few meters away, rubbing his tusks against some trees, marking his presence in the area.

Nate's eyes widen at the sight of it. He'd never seen such a Pokemon before. He walked forward, hoping to get a closer look]

[The Buneary stares Nate down curiously, still munching on its greens.]

[nateurally]

[Nate gets closer, keeping low to the ground as not to appear threatening. Once he gets close enough, he raises his hand in greeting]

Hi...! I'm Nate...

[The Buneary goes over to his hand and looks at it, before cocking its head. This hand has no food!]

[nateurally]

[Nate blinks several times, before realizing what the Buneary must want. He smiles, and reaches into his bag with his other hand, pulling out a berry, which he puts in the outstretched one, offering it forward]

[The berry swiftly vanishes in a torrent of nibbling]

July 21

[Arado had to have a good look at the Rolling Plains, because he hasn't gotten to explore. And thus, at the moment, a fast-moving Scyther is flying. When he's out in the open, though, he swerves, weaves, and bobs.]

[He can't fly straight so well.]

WAHOOOOOOOOO!

[Sorpresa the Fletchling soars after him, determined. And glowering in his direction because is he serious? He's not even looking where he's going!]

July 25

[celebrity_commentator]

[Late in the week, after dealing with the strange attackers inasmuch as she was able to, Rise's enjoying herself exploring the Rolling Plains. After sightseeing the herds of graceful Normal-types that the rest of Union's trainers had reported, Rise looks a little closer, trying to seek out the hiding places of rarer Pokémon.]

[Meanwhile, Toyo's rolling around in the grass the way only giant-egg-shaped Pokémon can. It's a little hard to take things completely seriously when it's this nice out.]

Wow rude I don't even know if I want to tag this now geez

[As Toyo rolls around in the grass, eventually she'll eventually roll at and on top of something. A weird, squishy thing, that makes a very alarmed, very weird sound.]

Chans?

[Toyo stands up, worriedly looking around. Did she run someone over? It's surprisingly easy to do that when you're a four-foot tall egg.]

Huh? Is something wrong, Toyo?

[She did. And, as it turns out, is still kind of standing on it.]

Dunspaaaar-raaar-raaah...

[The poor thing looks a little smooshed.]

Are you alright?

[Rise's never seen a Pokémon even remotely like that before, but she's more concerned with its health.]

[Feeling extremely guilty, Toyo grabs her egg from where she'd left it in the grass for safekeeping and offers it to the wild Pokémon. Eggs fix everything.]

[It takes the Dunsparce a moment to get its bearings back, and as Rise offers it an egg, the Pokémon looks up and is transfixed.

You pretty, Rise. Woah.]

[celebrity_commentator]

I don't think I've ever seen anyone like you before...

[She offers out a hand to the wild Pokémon. He seems pretty calm, but she wants to make sure before she just starts firing off her Warp Band.]

[Beautiful and compassionate? Be still its Poké heart! It doesn't really have hands to offer, so instead the Dunsparce offers one of its wing... things.]

July 25 - West Desert

[It had taken all week for Maya to make up her mind, but she'd finally decided. Her team just wasn't diverse enough-- and even though she favours ghosts, part of learning about them is learning the way things that aren't ghosts work, right?

...Okay, it's not the most logical, but after what had happened with Yuuna, Feliks, Jinxie, and herself, Maya is eager to get to meet a new Pokemon again. It'd been quite a while, and she's ready with her twin banettes at her side.

and by ready, we all know I mean 'complaining'. It's hot, and this is boooring, and they haven't even seen anyone yet Maya why are they ouuuut here--]

Aw, come on. We'll find something. It... would really suck if we didn't, actually.

[They do find something!

Sand. They find sand. Lots of sand. Fine sand, finer sand, even finer sand, sand that gets up your nose when you sniff too hard, and sand that gets in your clothes and boots and everywhere.

Isn't this an exciting adventure?]

[wow I definitely accidentally did that 'small' tag as 'sand'

Sand that Bozu and Chikao are quite eager to point out. And start to complain about again, whiny little rattles warbling from their hollow bean-bag bodies.

It's saaandy it's hooot it's boooring--]

I know, I knoooow, I knoooow. [Dangit. Maya's not used to not being the one whining. So she pops down right where she is in the sand, crossing her arms and pouting at the two banettes-- who seem surprised.]

How about you lead the way then, huh?! [And when she puts her palms down on the sand to lean back and pout... she gets a quick reminder that the sand is hot and ow.

She blows the sand off her palms, whining as her banettes look on in bemusement.

What an adventure this is.]

[As Maya sits in the hot sand, she'll also get a reminder that, as desolate as the environs may seem, life has a way of hanging on even in the toughest of times.

Actually, it's not really a reminder more than it is a poke in the butt.]

[A poke in the butt.

She felt that, right? She felt something... move under her.

She felt something move under her and poke her in the butt.

This is enough prompting to send Maya, hot-sand-on-palms and all, flailing past her banettes, who can't help but jump in surprise as well.]

What was-- what was that?!

^{What was what?} _{We didn't see anything.}

I-It was under me, I swear!

[A green fin has popped up out of the ground underneath Maya.

It's a sand-shark! Run for your lives!

.........Oh wait no it's surfacing now it's just a green dino thing.]

^{Huh. Would you look at that.}_{We found something.}

It's-- wait, isn't that like that one dude and the rapidash we met?

[Rolling her eyes, she points to the little green dino thing. Rude, Maya.]
