The battle is joined. The gods of Union, while mighty, seem to pale in comparison to the singular dragon of ice. Although they strive mightily to avoid damaging the city, already the mysterious blue dragon has been flung directly into a tower, earning itself a nasty gash over its eye, much to the dismay of the red dragon. While it has rejoined the fight, it is clear that the gods alone are not enough - the people of Union will have to step forward if they are to save their beloved city. The cries of the wounded and terrified citizens echo through the streets as the flames of battle rage. Now is the time - they must be stopped!

[Lenna is indeed following close behind Rose as she makes her way toward the others, her Lucario close by her side and silently watching for any incoming potential threats.]

It's hard to say. We should be ready for anything.

Sylveon, Persian, Staraptor, Chingling, Skitty, Doublade

I agree. We have to protect what we can.

[Out of Minako's party, the Sylveon, Persian, and Staraptor seemed the most serious about this. The others were more reluctant, and in various ways. Doublade was in awe of the gods, Skitty didn't want to get dirty, and Chingling was too busy hiding in Minako's hair.]

It's odd... to see two dragon gods with... human partners.

We should be careful, though. Sveta wasn't alone. She had another friend with her.

[And threats do come. Not quietly or subtly, either. A lone, cloaked figure walks down the street, a single Goodra waddling along behind it. Though the ground beneath it's feet seems to ripple and shift. And in that cloaked hand? A spear, jagged like a bolt of lightning and covered with rapidly drying blood.

This was one of the guards, clearly. And they slow at the sound of voices, raising the weapon into a fighting stance.]

'They've' already come this way, girl.

[The voice is indistinct, weirdly modulated somehow by a mask, neither masculine nor feminine...but definitely threatening.]

One chance. Leave the city, now, and I won't pursue you.

Takuto has Arcanine, Golurk and Salamence

STAR SWORD! EMERAUDE! STAR SWORD SAPHIR!

[Takuto draws forth the glowing green psychic blade Emeraude and the glowing blue Fairy blade Saphir. No time for words, he will not allow this inside of Union. He charges head on, coming down on the figure with the full wrath of an angry God of War]

GALACTIC! CROSS! SLASH!

[Two slashes at the figure, one horizontal and vertical as he blows past with great speed]

Sanae has Typhlosion and Flygon

Takuto, here!

[ Seeing Takuto charge ahead, she pulls out another talisman, channeling Helping Hand through it and launching it toward her partner. Hopefully the boost to his attack would help.

Flying out from around the side of a building, Yousei the Flygon charged toward Kyurem, attempting to ram into it with a Dragon Rush attack. ]

Rose has Torchic, Skiddo, and Absol. DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'

Did you... did you seriously animate a guy's corpse!?

[Rose takes a step back, shocked. Her eyes start to widen -- and then she sees Takuto just charge forward, and Sanae too. Rose cricks her neck, then she spins her knives up.]

[Her Absol leaps in next to her and glares daggers at the animated guard, using Taunt. Rose nods, taking a quick glance at Lenna.] I might have not mentioned a couple things. [She flashes a smile, then she darts forward. Rose vanishes into black mist, then, and reappears just to the side of the guard, slashing once with each knife.]

Rose!

[Lenna calls out to her new friend, worried for her safety for a split second before she sees the swiftness of her attack. It seems she does indeed have some secrets, but that's for later. Shaking off the surprise, Lenna commands her Lucario to join the fray.]

Kelger, help her out! Extreme Speed!

[Moving just as quickly as Rose, Kelger quickly closes the gap between their group and their mysterious assailant. In the meantime, Lenna uses Agility on herself so that she'll be able to keep up with everyone.]

24 Hour Advancement

[The figure holds up it's arms in a cross-like warding gesture, a shield springing to life between it and the onslaught from Takuto. The strikes hammer into the barrier, sending up sparks and a wicked sense of heat. The figure hisses as it's defenses are strained, but doesn't quite buckle. The Extreme Speed is tanked in much the same manner, the figure staggering back.

The Goodra leaps in between it's trainer and the Flygon though. It takes the Dragon Rush and staggers, and thick, disgusting tendrils of slime seem to envelop the Flygon from it's Gooey ability, slowing it down a bit.]

If that's your answer...

[The spear whips around as Takuto dart's past, a strike aimed neatly at his armored back. The weapon roars like a Tyranitum, and instead of a physical blow, a Thunderbolt lances out from the tip towards him.

In the same breath, it stamps it's foot and the ground seems to come alive with activity. It shakes, rattles, and rolls...and zipping out of the ground come three more Pokemon. An Excadrill, Ninjask, and Durant all explode towards the party. Their combined efforts generate an Earthquake aimed at everyone nearby!]

TAUBURN!

[Golurk rockets into view, slamming into the Thunderbolt full-force and using its ground typing to hopefully tank the damage. Takuto skids on the ground, his Tau mark glowing with an unearthly brilliance]

TAU! GALACTIC! BEEEEAAAAMMM!

[Leaping into the air to avoid the Earthquake, Takuto launches a beam of Fairy energy at the man.]

Kelger, no!

[Yeah, that triple Earthquake hit Lenna's Lucario like a ton of bricks. Falling to one knee, her stalwart guardian can hardly move anymore. Quickly dismissing him back to the relative safety of the habitat, Lenna turns to their assailant with a rarely seen fire in her eyes.]

Leave our city now! The people of Union will never give in!

[And without a second thought, Lenna rushes forward, claws extending from her hands as she unleashes her Outrage with a series of strong blows.]

[ Its wings covered in goo, Yousei landed nearby, shaking them off and launching a Dragon Breath at the Goodra instead. If that's how they were going to play, she could act accordingly. The Earthquake hits, but doesn't seem to do as much damage. Even still, the flyer is grounded, at least for the time being. ]

Takuto!!

[ Taking to the air herself, she ascends high into the skies. ]

We won't let you hurt the people of Union! Benevolent priestess of the sacred tree, lend me your power! Mega Evolution!

[ Her form glowing brightly, Sanae charges back down toward the earth, her form changing in mid-flight. Pulling out a few talismans from her sleeve, she throws them in an array, her trajectory suddenly curving back upward. ]

Sea Opening! The Day the Sea Split!

[ The talismans darting to various points, a jet of water erupts from the ground where each one floats, directed at the sources of the Earthquake attack. ]

[The earthquake comes ripping through. It hits Rose, knocking her footing off for a moment; she yelps, as she stumbles backward. Her eyes dart around, trying to make sense of everything. Lenna and Takuto are on the assailant.]

[But he -- it? -- has allies here.] Make sure we don't get surrounded! And, um, keep up the... awesome... divine power thing! [That's to Sanae.]

[Rose slashes twice in the air in front of her; a cross-shaped bolt of Dark-type energy rips across the ground towards the Ninjask.] Double Demon Fang! But wait! [She's running at it.] There's more!

[She runs in, slashing up with the left knife; lightning explodes off her short sword when she does, and she leaps, then stabs down with the right dagger, which also bursts with more lightning.] Lightning Tiger Blade!

24 Hour Advancement

[The Golurk successfully absorbs the energy from the Thunderbolt without issue, and then the attack begins. Takuto's beam bites into the figure's shoulder, shredding a chunk of the armor there and forcing it to stagger backwards and right into Lenna's claws. They rake against the armor, the sounds of metal shrieking filling the air...but it stays up.

The Pokemon, though, take things differently. Goodra staggers, slumping forward a bit, and the various elemental attacks break against the group of diggers. None of the strikes seem particularly effective against their typings, save the Water against the Excadrill. It falls down backwards, and flops a bit, drilling back into the earth! Hasta la Vista...for now.

Ninjask zips upwards and dives back down, attacking Rose with an X-Scissor while Durant rushes Sanae with jaws open for a Bug Bite!

And the armored figure whirls, spear spinning in the light and slashing down at Lenna. Blue runes flare on it, and strikes out like a Dragon Tail, hoping to knock her away.]

Away, Zubat! You will not sway me!

[And then the runes change again, a spray of electricity sending a Thundershock at everyone!]

[Tauburn continues to block as much of the Thundershock as it can while Takuto leaps in front of the Durant, lashing out with his Psychic Sword to block the attack.]

[Lenna is knocked back by the Dragon Tail's assault, tumbling across the ground and landing close to Kelger, still trying to recover from those Earthquakes. Glancing sharply to the side, Lenna narrows her eyes for a moment to silently communicate that she was not kidding when she told him to withdraw to the habitat. His pride and his body wounded, he struggles to his feet with a small growl before limping off to safety.

And that just leaves the man in the hood. Her Outrage not yet sated, Lenna once again barrels directly toward him, claws extended and slashing out toward him. She can't employ a whole lot of strategy while she's locked into this move, but perhaps she'll succeed yet at overwhelming their opponent with strength and persistence.]

[ Not expecting Takuto to jump in front of the attack for her, this gives the priestess a bit of room to move, figuratively and literally. Putting more distance between herself and her attacker, she's thankful for the sudden typing change when Thundershock comes around. That would have hurt otherwise. ]

SKY SERPENT!

[ Pulling out another talisman, she throws it, the paper shifting in mid flight to a Flying-type projectile. It lets out a loud, howling hiss before launching itself at Ninjask and Durant. ]

[The X-Scissor hits Rose hard. The blades catch her midsection and slash deep. There's a splash of blood in the snow, as she flies back, and hits the ground hard. The Thunderbolt is insult to injury.]

G-gh... damn...!

[Her Torchic sees it. He lets out a panicked chirp -- and then runs between her and the Ninjask. He rears back, then shoots an Ember at the Ninjask.]

Torchiiiiic!

[...meanwhile her Absol uses Future Sight.]

24 Hour Advancement

[The serious combination of fire, flying, and energy sword pretty much drops the Ninjask. It falls to the ground and twitches a few times, passed out. The Durant weathers the hits just fine, it's durable armored shell much tougher than the fragile bug's. And that's when the Goodra enters the fray. It bellows and charges right at Takuto and Sanae, it's pudgy belly going in first for a Giga Impact aimed at both of them. Hope you like slime, kids...because here comes 90s Nickelodeon.

The attacks smack into the humanoid, who's armor is seeming to start shredding away, revealing more flesh. Or...what looks like flesh, if it was made of silver. It's growing tired of this though.]

You. Must. Stop.

[He twirls that spear again, a flash of lightning resounding in the sky. A storm of bolts showers down all around him...an Electroweb covering the entire area in a massive Galvantula-web of electrified...something. It's not a strong attack, but it's meant to slow people down.

And at that time, another Pokemon seems to have taken the field. From high up on a crumbling tower, a pinkish beam starts to form...aimed squarely at Lenna's rampaging back...]

WE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO DO THIS TO OUR CITY!

[Tauburn explodes forward, slamming on the ground around Galvantula with an Earthquake. Meanwhile, he squares his shoulders as his piles form up around the hand wielding the Fairy blade Saphir.]

PILE! CRUSHER!

[They open up creating a wide arc as he thrusts his hand and blade at the Goodra, using the piles to strike against its force to hopefully catch and attack charging Pokemon, again sparing his own safety not a second thought as he stands in front of Sanae]

[Focused entirely on her attack, Lenna doesn't see the Moonblast coming... but someone else does. The origin of the beam isn't the only new fighter to have joined the field. A tall man in blue armor, evoking the silhouette of a Dragonite, dives between Lenna and the surprise attack at the very last second.

He is unable to deflect it away from her, however, and it rips through the front of his scale mail with a mighty burst of Fairy energy. It seems the young noble and this mysterious man share the same type weakness, and when she comes down from her third round of Outrage attacks, she turns around and immediately recognizes her unfortunate savior.]

F-father...! Father, no...!

[Falling to her knees to cradle his body in her arms, Lenna sees just how injured and exhausted the man already was. He must have run into trouble on the road, and given all he had to come home to help his daughter. Coughing up blood, he speaks, his voice weak and feeble.]

Lenna... I was... too late. Too late... to warn you all...

[Tears begin to well up in her eyes as she shakes her head, hugging him close.]

Father, don't speak... it's going to be all right... we'll get you to the hospital...

Live on, Lenna... protect... Union...

[And with that, Councilman Alexander Highwind Tycoon breathes his last. Apologies, everyone, but Lenna is going to need a moment. A moment that may be hard to get, considering their opponent is still kicking.]

[Rose's Torchic turns on the Durant next. Efreet chirps bravely (...) and then opens his beak. Another Ember forms, burning brightly, and then hurtles across the battlefield, right for the Goodra!]

[Rose is sitting up slowly, hand at her side. It's sticky. She can feel that she's bleeding, still. She has to hope it's staunched enough by her clothing. That's when she catches the flash of pink -- and everything that happens after. The Moonbeam doesn't get its target, but it gets a target.]

[When Lenna's dad topples over, Rose is left staring at Lenna and the sight of her father. Her eyes widen; then, awareness of the battlefield comes back to her, and she realizes. Whatever's on that Tower... it still is.]

Lenna... hold on. I'm sorry. [She dashes to Lenna's side, but glances at her Skiddo.] Mayvin, you're up!

[Mayvin snorts, then slams a foot down into the ground. Vine whips shoot from the cracks in the pavement, then launch into the air towards the offending Pokemon on the tower.]

[ Things get a bit chaotic as another person enters the battlefield... and gets blown away in the same instance. This distracts Sanae just enough that the Giga Impact catches her off guard. Good thing for Takuto, who jumps in front, and, seeing the attack just before it collides with his pile-enhanced arm, she attempts to throw out a shield using her gohei. Whether or not the hastily-built barrier will hold is really hard to say.

Yousei, however, who has been doing her best despite being covered in sticky slime, lets loose another Dragon Breath at Goodra. ]

[With the battle in full force, Sylveon unleashed a Moonblast at the Goodra and Staraptor used Brave Bird against Ninjask. Minako went to make sure Lenna was okay, Persian protecting her back as she did.]

Lenna...?

[The stranger does register with their assailant, and it stops, rooting it's spear into place. No sneak, nor brigand, a moment can be spared for a fallen father. However that's not enough to stop the overwhelmed Goodra.

Takuto will find himself slammed into at top speed by several hundred pounds of floopy floppy goo-dragon. The barrier mitigates some of the force, but on attack that strong? Not enough. The sheer weight of the creature, coupled with it's speed and the power of the attack sends him flying backwards, careening hard into a building...and to add insult to injury, a speed-reducing slime from it's Gooey body coats him too. But Sanae's not hurt, so there is that?

And then it's promptly hit by several super-effective attacks, including Takuto's parting swipe and collapses wearily to the ground with a heavy thud and a strange...squelching sound. Galvantula and Ninjask suffer similar fates, the combination of powerful and super-effective attacks dropping them. The Durant shrinks back from the fire, but it's not down yet. Scuttling closer to it's trainer, it leers at the Torchic balefully.

And from up in the air, a...Whimsicott wearing an eyepatch catches a breeze and floats down to light on the stoic human's shoulder. That metallic voice grates out audibly, hands tight with tension on the spear.]

Take him, girl. Give him the burial a father deserves.

Argh!

[Takuto hits the wall with a loud thud and crumples to the ground. He's breathing heavily as he gets up, but that's slow going.

Fortunately - or unfortunately, one in his team doesn't quite care about the sudden abatement of combat. Samehk the Salamence comes flying in and unleashes a Flamethrower attack at the figure and his team, coating them with hot flame]
