The Elite Four Strikes
The battle is joined. The gods of Union, while mighty, seem to pale in comparison to the singular dragon of ice. Although they strive mightily to avoid damaging the city, already the mysterious blue dragon has been flung directly into a tower, earning itself a nasty gash over its eye, much to the dismay of the red dragon. While it has rejoined the fight, it is clear that the gods alone are not enough - the people of Union will have to step forward if they are to save their beloved city. The cries of the wounded and terrified citizens echo through the streets as the flames of battle rage. Now is the time - they must be stopped!
24 Hour Advancement
The Pokemon, though, take things differently. Goodra staggers, slumping forward a bit, and the various elemental attacks break against the group of diggers. None of the strikes seem particularly effective against their typings, save the Water against the Excadrill. It falls down backwards, and flops a bit, drilling back into the earth! Hasta la Vista...for now.
Ninjask zips upwards and dives back down, attacking Rose with an X-Scissor while Durant rushes Sanae with jaws open for a Bug Bite!
And the armored figure whirls, spear spinning in the light and slashing down at Lenna. Blue runes flare on it, and strikes out like a Dragon Tail, hoping to knock her away.]
Away, Zubat! You will not sway me!
[And then the runes change again, a spray of electricity sending a Thundershock at everyone!]

And that just leaves the man in the hood. Her Outrage not yet sated, Lenna once again barrels directly toward him, claws extended and slashing out toward him. She can't employ a whole lot of strategy while she's locked into this move, but perhaps she'll succeed yet at overwhelming their opponent with strength and persistence.]

SKY SERPENT!
[ Pulling out another talisman, she throws it, the paper shifting in mid flight to a Flying-type projectile. It lets out a loud, howling hiss before launching itself at Ninjask and Durant. ]

G-gh... damn...!
[Her Torchic sees it. He lets out a panicked chirp -- and then runs between her and the Ninjask. He rears back, then shoots an Ember at the Ninjask.]
Torchiiiiic!
[...meanwhile her Absol uses Future Sight.]
24 Hour Advancement
The attacks smack into the humanoid, who's armor is seeming to start shredding away, revealing more flesh. Or...what looks like flesh, if it was made of silver. It's growing tired of this though.]
You. Must. Stop.
[He twirls that spear again, a flash of lightning resounding in the sky. A storm of bolts showers down all around him...an Electroweb covering the entire area in a massive Galvantula-web of electrified...something. It's not a strong attack, but it's meant to slow people down.
And at that time, another Pokemon seems to have taken the field. From high up on a crumbling tower, a pinkish beam starts to form...aimed squarely at Lenna's rampaging back...]

[Tauburn explodes forward, slamming on the ground around Galvantula with an Earthquake. Meanwhile, he squares his shoulders as his piles form up around the hand wielding the Fairy blade Saphir.]
PILE! CRUSHER!
[They open up creating a wide arc as he thrusts his hand and blade at the Goodra, using the piles to strike against its force to hopefully catch and attack charging Pokemon, again sparing his own safety not a second thought as he stands in front of Sanae]

He is unable to deflect it away from her, however, and it rips through the front of his scale mail with a mighty burst of Fairy energy. It seems the young noble and this mysterious man share the same type weakness, and when she comes down from her third round of Outrage attacks, she turns around and immediately recognizes her unfortunate savior.]
F-father...! Father, no...!
[Falling to her knees to cradle his body in her arms, Lenna sees just how injured and exhausted the man already was. He must have run into trouble on the road, and given all he had to come home to help his daughter. Coughing up blood, he speaks, his voice weak and feeble.]
Lenna... I was... too late. Too late... to warn you all...
[Tears begin to well up in her eyes as she shakes her head, hugging him close.]
Father, don't speak... it's going to be all right... we'll get you to the hospital...
Live on, Lenna... protect... Union...
[And with that, Councilman Alexander Highwind Tycoon breathes his last. Apologies, everyone, but Lenna is going to need a moment. A moment that may be hard to get, considering their opponent is still kicking.]

[Rose is sitting up slowly, hand at her side. It's sticky. She can feel that she's bleeding, still. She has to hope it's staunched enough by her clothing. That's when she catches the flash of pink -- and everything that happens after. The Moonbeam doesn't get its target, but it gets a target.]
[When Lenna's dad topples over, Rose is left staring at Lenna and the sight of her father. Her eyes widen; then, awareness of the battlefield comes back to her, and she realizes. Whatever's on that Tower... it still is.]
Lenna... hold on. I'm sorry. [She dashes to Lenna's side, but glances at her Skiddo.] Mayvin, you're up!
[Mayvin snorts, then slams a foot down into the ground. Vine whips shoot from the cracks in the pavement, then launch into the air towards the offending Pokemon on the tower.]

Yousei, however, who has been doing her best despite being covered in sticky slime, lets loose another Dragon Breath at Goodra. ]

Lenna...?
Sorry for the delay! I wanted you all to have a response.
Takuto will find himself slammed into at top speed by several hundred pounds of floopy floppy goo-dragon. The barrier mitigates some of the force, but on attack that strong? Not enough. The sheer weight of the creature, coupled with it's speed and the power of the attack sends him flying backwards, careening hard into a building...and to add insult to injury, a speed-reducing slime from it's Gooey body coats him too. But Sanae's not hurt, so there is that?
And then it's promptly hit by several super-effective attacks, including Takuto's parting swipe and collapses wearily to the ground with a heavy thud and a strange...squelching sound. Galvantula and Ninjask suffer similar fates, the combination of powerful and super-effective attacks dropping them. The Durant shrinks back from the fire, but it's not down yet. Scuttling closer to it's trainer, it leers at the Torchic balefully.
And from up in the air, a...Whimsicott wearing an eyepatch catches a breeze and floats down to light on the stoic human's shoulder. That metallic voice grates out audibly, hands tight with tension on the spear.]
Take him, girl. Give him the burial a father deserves.

[Takuto hits the wall with a loud thud and crumples to the ground. He's breathing heavily as he gets up, but that's slow going.
Fortunately - or unfortunately, one in his team doesn't quite care about the sudden abatement of combat. Samehk the Salamence comes flying in and unleashes a Flamethrower attack at the figure and his team, coating them with hot flame]
no subject
Sorry, Lenna. Normally she would give a moment for mourning, but this was too much. ]
Get out... GET OUT OF OUR CITY!
[ In the blink of an eye, she throws out nine talismans, each around Takuto's attacker. Her eyes glowing fiercely, the talismans erupt in pillars of light. Launching herself into the air, she begins firing bullets as she charges toward her enemy, syncing with Samehk's movements. ]

Father... father!
[As she calls out, however, Lenna's voice begins to slowly distort itself into an almost bestial roar. There is a great gathering of power, her form glowing for a moment as her body begins to change. The horns on her head grow even larger, her wingspan widening impressively, and her skin hardening into blue scales. When she looks up, her eyes are fixed on the man and his Whimsicott.]
Are you satisfied with this? You've taken the life of an innocent man! A good man, who wanted nothing more than a peaceful world for his family, and for man and Pokemon to live in harmony! You've taken his noble dream, that he dedicated his entire life to, and snuffed it out for no reason but your own misguided and selfish ideals!
[Lenna stands fully now, tears still streaming from her eyes as she takes a breath. She has one more thing to say, and it's going to be loud, and it's going to hurt.]
LEAVE OUR CITY NOW!
[Focusing the pressure from her anger into a powerful attack fueled by the pain of loss and her sudden Mega Evolution, Lenna lets loose with a mighty Roar of Time at the man and his entire menagerie. There will be time to bury her father after this is taken care of. She has a city to protect in his place.]

[Rose shouts it, brandishing both knives and ignoring the way her side is bleeding. The Torchic stands next to her, eyes blazing. She slashes both knives in front of her.]
Double Demon Fang!
[Two bolts of Dark-type energy shoot across the ground, hurtling towards the armored man.]

And when the onslaught ends, chest heaving, the woman rises up to a standing position. Blood pours down her face, but she’s still up. Setting herself, she takes the spear, spreads herself into a fighting stance]
You think you’re the only one who’s lost a parent? My father died outside Glacier with an iron spike through his heart. You claim a moral high ground, but you are just as barbaric. Heretics like you…should pay. All of you should pay! One tower at a time!
[The spear gleams with an amber light. The smell of ozone fills the air as she slams the butt of it into the ruined pavement, and the ground beneath the entire group begins to rumble. Something big is coming. Something really, really big.
A heartbeat later, the foundation of a building begins to crumble, and raging out of the earth comes the source of the rumbles. A Steelix breaches the surface, leaping into the air and smashing down through another nearby building. Supports creak and groan, rubble begins to fall, and the Pokemon continues to thrash, breaking loose more stone.
The strain of this seems to take a toll on the woman, who again falls to her knees, leaning on her spear. There’s still a deadly gleam in her eyes though, a challenging look of madness. Come near at your own peril.
What do? Finish the fight or protect the town?]

You can't do this! You're ruining our homes. You're attacking our city, destroying everything we've worked so hard to rebuild after all the destruction from the gods. We aren't here to kill anyone. You want us to kill in the name of the Gods, but we won't do that. And in return, you destroy us!
[Minako began to glow with a golden light. Anyone still able to look at her would see her begin to change. When it was done, she had changed completely in full Magical Girl style, clothes and all.]
In the name of the Savior, we will stop you!
[Her Doublade stared at her in awe, and then was inspired to action, pulled away from its reverie of the gods around them. The ghost-sword charged forward towards the falling tower, using Sacred Sword against the Steelix inside. Minako turned as well, moving to stop the thrashing steel snake.]
Meteor Mash!

[Lenna watches in horror as the tower falls, throwing herself protectively over the unmoving body of her father. Even now, she wants to make sure she is able to get him away safely for the burial he deserves. The falling rubble very nearly crushes them both, if not for the timely arrival of her Mienshao, flying through the air to kick a large piece of rock away.]
Cherie...!
[Looking up to see her loyal Pokemon standing ready to fight, Lenna nods, picking up her father's body and spreading her wings.]
Thank you, Cherie. Stay here and help the others fight that Steelix. Make sure no one else gets hurt today.
[And she shoots a very brief but severe glance toward the woman.]
And you should take my advice and leave. Both of us lost a father to war, but it isn't right or fair to take that pain out on others.
[With that, Lenna takes off into the sky, headed for the Tycoon estate. She'll meet the rest of her Pokemon there and make a stand to defend the city after seeing to her father's remains. In the meantime, Cherie the Mienshao is ready to help, delivering a High Jump Kick to the body of the Steelix.]

[Rose sees the Tower fall -- and the Steelix emerge. She grits her teeth; her eyes dart to the side, following Lenna. Probably best. She needs to mourn her father -- and get his corpse to safety. She looks at the Steelix and considers. Then she looks at Mayvin.]
'Kay, buddy. We're gonna stop that thing. I go right, you go left, neither of us get in the way of Super-Tau, Cute Wind Goddess Girl, or Shiny Sparkly Cute Doombringer. Got it?
[The Skiddo sighs.] ...do.
Go!
[Rose runs at one side of the Steelix; she comes in close, and leaps, slashing with each knife as she jumps up. They surge with electricity as she slashes!]
Lightning Tiger Blade!
[And at the same time, more vine whips shoot out at the Skiddo's behest, this time for the Steelix.]
Advance!
[The attacks all slam into the Steelix, striking it's weaknesses over and over and over again. But a creature that massive, that heavy, and that devoted does not go quietly into the darkness. It's been given a mission, and it will carry it out. Over and over the attacks land, and the massive snake thrashes furiously...
and begins to pulse with light.]
Hrunting! Don't! You're too wounded!
[The woman shouts, struggling to her feet as the Steelix Mega-Evolves into a truly titanic creature. The sheer size of it rivals Kyurem at this point, and the sudden growth and it's frenetic motions crack the foundations of the tower...one of the Residential Towers...and send it crumbling down all around it.
The woman's scream is drowned out by the screech of metal, of tearing re bar and shattering concrete as the tower topples to one side, smashing into another and coming to a stop, a shower of dust and rocks falling every-which-way. The taller tower it landed on seems damaged to near the breaking point as well, but it remains upright for now. The dust is so thick that sight is impossible, but when it does settle, there's no sign of the woman or any of her Pokemon other than the Steelix.
It's breathing is shallow, eyes closed, and while it's alive it likely won't be for long. It's massive, but the amount of rubble pinning it there is more than even it's size can bear. At least it's stopped...but the sounds of fighting throughout the area certainly haven't...
((ooc: sorry for the delay yesterday. This is the end of the log. The Steelix will die without medical attention and it's Megastone has shattered, it is too distraught and angry to accept a new bondmate at this time. Feel free to continue threading aftermath things.))

We should try to free it. I don't to see it die.
no subject
Get the rubble clear! Look for survivors!
[Using what remaining strength he has left, he starts pushing aside the rubble from the fallen towers, trying to probe for signs of life with his psychic powers. He's not especially worried about the Steelix and its master and is in fact avoiding them - the people of Union take priority]

It was dying. It was going to die. Her anger ebbing, Sanae swallowed down, walking past Minako, seemingly ignoring the other girl's words. There were rites she could perform, if they had more time. Things she could do, should do. But it was suffering. She couldn't...
Even if it was an enemy, she couldn't bare to see anyone in so much pain. Her hand trembling a bit, she hesitated before finally letting it rest on the pokemon's forehead, between its eyes. ]
Be at peace.
[ It was a quick pulse, but strong and true. Water gathering around the palm of her hand, she released it in one small, focused beam, hoping that it would pierce through, and put the creature to rest as peacefully as she could. Sanae stayed there for a good long while, her lips moving, but her voice silent. She seemed to be reciting something...
But hearing Takuto's voice, she suddenly turned her head, tears gathered in her eyes. Hesitating, she flew toward him, nearly throwing her arms around him. She would have, if she knew he had the strength.
Thank goodness he was all right... ]
Takuto, you need to rest! We can take care of it!
