The Elite Four Strikes
The battle is joined. The gods of Union, while mighty, seem to pale in comparison to the singular dragon of ice. Although they strive mightily to avoid damaging the city, already the mysterious blue dragon has been flung directly into a tower, earning itself a nasty gash over its eye, much to the dismay of the red dragon. While it has rejoined the fight, it is clear that the gods alone are not enough - the people of Union will have to step forward if they are to save their beloved city. The cries of the wounded and terrified citizens echo through the streets as the flames of battle rage. Now is the time - they must be stopped!
A Metagross and uhhhh Growlithe
Wherever she is isn't that important. The general's head won't fall into our laps so easily, so the only thing to do is to cleave through their vanguard.
[ He's perfectly prepared to go fight the giant dragon if he has to. In fact, while he seems outwardly calm, he's raring to go. There's a tenseness about Sanger, hand resting on the hilt of the sword hanging from his waist, more than prepared to draw. ]
Mawile, Carbink, Goodra, Hitmonchan, and Gigalith
We'll have to fight the god to get to her. Or maybe her to get to the god.
[Darn, she was trying to be cool and messed it up.]
...Something like that. We should be ready to fight both of them.

Provide us with cover, please..
[The little swablu nods once, then flaps up into the air, wobbling a little before it begins to fly low circles around the group. Fluffy wings shimmer as Mist is generated from the surrounding ice and dampness left by the morning -- all the better to obscure the location of humans and pokemon alike.]
We should avoid speaking aloud if we can. This gives us an advantage and makes us harder to anticipate.
Sveta is the leader of the Elite Four. In her own words, she is second only to their Champion. [whoever that may be] If we attack her God, she will surely appear to stop us from preventing it from 'cleansing' the city.

[The token noble in this group, keeping things nice and classy.]

[His tail thrashes as his hand rests on the hilt of his sword, Furfur sniffs the ground, attempting to pick up anything unusual as Focalor circles around the group as he reads the ways, what direction? He asked himself ready to give direction]
As you can guess from looking at me, Ice isn't exactly a friend of mine like this, but I can get into another form that won't affect me
Hitmonchan, Tyranitar, Gallade, Hawlucha, and Infernape
She's actually hovering a few feet off the ground herself, held aloft by the wind and her own weirdly oscillating magnetic field. It wasn't much of a buff, but it kept her from getting Earthquaked by surprised at least.
Gliding up to Merrill, she clapped a hand on her partner's shoulder and gave her a solid, steady nod. Out loud she whispers.]
Just like last time. We stand together, as a group. The Gods are on our side, and there's no way we're letting this thing wreck up our home. Lucky for us, my boys specialize in icebreaking.
[And then in her head, her voice sharp and hard.]
Our target isn't the woman. No matter how powerful, she's just a human. The dragon is the priority, because it's the one rampaging around. Remove the weapon, and she'll be forced to either take the field with something else or flee the scene.
Gwendolyn was it? Can you get higher up and see if you can spot it from the air? I'm going to have Kokishi try and triangulate it's location with his powers, but having some eyes would be good.
[And at that, the psychic typed Gallade starts using his considerable mentalk senses to try and locate the largest source of power in the area...]
no subject
Groaaarrrrrrrr!!!!!
[Its footsteps were far from quiet, leaving behind it a trail of terror as the dragon began its march towards the residential district. That's where the vermin lived, that's where it can eradicate more of them...]
no subject
And then something close by explodes.
Any potential arguments disappear. ]
..Muninn is with me. He can provide your Kokishi with a bird's eye view. [she nods at Sinbad] I hope that your radius extends high enough above.
[then legs bunch beneath her, the Valkyrie only waiting long enough for the Swablu to perch on her shoulder, before she launches herself skyward. ....with a lot more speed than anticipated holy Tree may the Gale have sweet mercy up Up UP she goes, dragging a tail of Mist behind her!
And once up there, it most certainly wasn't hard to see the target! Calling the gale beneath her, she hovered above, before pointing her spear, the cold morning light glinting off the tip.]
West! Hurry!
no subject
Long as I can see you, I can see how the waves respond.
[West that's... oh. shit, his eyes widened at the realization, tail thrashing]
We have to stop him now! That's the residential district! Badr, can you hit him with thunder wave, try to to stun him
[The Dragonite nods and starts to charge up]
Everyone, we have to keep him from advancing any further.

[Between the roar and the team tandem of Swablu and Gallade, Yuuna's got no trouble locating the thing. And unlike usual, she doesn't just go barrelling into a fight. She gestures to the Pokemon all around her, ordering the squad to fan out as they get within firing distance.]
Good, Koki, get up a Light Screen. And if anyone has a Pokemon that can put up a Reflect, I think we're going to need layered shields.
We've got to hit it very hard, very fast. Don't hold back.
More dots![The Gallade complies, focusing and projecting a muted glow all around the assembled gang in a Reflect. Crouching, Yuuna scurries down one alleyway and crouches at the end of it, waiting on the huge Pokemon to walk on by. Hoping to remain hidden, she sends out a psychic command to her biggest Pokemon. Kyo, the Tyranitar, her first bondmate from her first adventure...steps out of another alleyway and with it's titanic strength rips up a section of crumbled building and hurls it right at the god's back! Hopefully this thing was just Ice/Dragon, because it's getting a potentially super effective Stone Edge tossed it's way!]

[Feliks nudges his Rapidash to go as fast as he can, guides him through the streets to circle around directly behind the dragon. The moment they've got a clear shot, Feliks nudges Jadwiga, who leans around his side to let out a Moonblast. At the same time, he raises one hand away from the Rapidash's neck and lets loose with a Fire Blast, trying to draw the god's attention back away from the residential district. He can feel Entei and Moltres's power blazing in him, boosting the strength of the attack, melting away any trace of fear and hesitation in that moment.]
[Sveta might have a god on her side, but she's got another thing coming if she thinks she's the only one.]
no subject
[Big battles like this are always so overwhelming. Why do the gods have to be so huge? All the same, Merrill summons her Carbink and Gigalith to aid in the assault.]
Lyrium, help Yuuna defend. Varterral, hold out as long as you can against the dragon.
[Lyrium the Carbink summons up a Light Screen of its own, gems shining brilliantly in the midday sun. As for Varterral the Gigalith, it goes on the offensive, manipulating some of the falling debris to send it right back at the dragon god in a devastating Rock Slide.]

[ Shields? Status effects? Sanger and his Pokemon aren't very much use at that. But what they can do is hurt things, and they're very good at that. ]
Gouwan, draw its eyes here! I will not have that dragon head any closer to non-combatants!
[ The Metagross fires off a Meteor Mash, steel fist hurtling straight at the giant dragon, while Sanger himself looks for a proper perch, scaling the tallest building nearby in a series of jumps as he prepares himself with a Swords Dance. ]
no subject
But what really sets it off is the series of attacks from Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Meteor Mash and Moonblast. The Fire Blast stings, but it isn't any more than an annoying bite from an insect in comparison to the other things that hit it. With another roar, now one of anger and malice, the dragon turns with a Payback attack against Metagross, being the closest target to it at the time. And just to make sure it doesn't miss anything, it turns again in the direction of where the Stone Edge came from- to unleash a Blizzard in the area.]

[He wasn't even thinking, his eyes widening as the mouth opens, remembering it's frigid cold from Glacier. Sinbad had the pendant in hand, activating the mega-evolution. His ears became dog-like as his hair, and scales turned a pinkish-white color, and long, fur sprouted over his massive tail, giving a fox-like appearance as his vulnerable dragon type became ice]
Augh! Ooooow... that still hurts. Everyone else okay?
[He grits his teeth, sinking down to try to avoid the worst of the blast and to allow the growlithe to jump into his arms]
Ah... That guy's huge. Focalor, hit him in the weak points, I'll be flying with Furfur. Everyone, I suggest spreading out as much as you can - keep him from being able to focus on one area.
[It's risky, but the God was huge, and they were small, he just has to be quick and nimble. The Rufflet squawks, swooping around like an Aerial Ace as Sinbad flies in close, circling around their feet, using the Growlithe like a portable Flamethrower]
no subject
We're good! Spread out, huh?
Mieszko -- use Agility!
[The Rapidash whinnies, and his hoofbeats speed up as Feliks guides him further around to the other side of the great dragon, where it'll be harder for the god to attack them and everyone else at the same time. Just as Feliks is about to order another Moonblast, he hears a familiar trilling in the air above him -- it looks like his Dragonair has caught up with him. (It wasn't hard to find him, really, she's saying, for the benefit of any who can hear. Figure out where the worst danger is, and charge right at it.)]
Huzar? What are you doing here?
--Whatever, good timing! Draco Meteor, now!
[The young Dragonair nods, then soars up high, letting out a high-pitched battle cry as she summons the attack.]

While...Yuuna starts gathering her focus, her will, her anger...everything...and crushing it into a ball. Blue fire forms between her hands, a charged sphere of energy ready to go...but the blessings have a secondary effect too. The ball begins to blaze with real fire, a second layer on top of the fighting attack.]
TAKE THIS YOU OVERGROWN DRUDDIGON!
[And she shoots out a Focus Blast right at the dragon's backside!]
no subject
A height she's not used to - the Howling Gale had always lent her speed but her body was unused to the forces this high up. But she would weather it. The people of Union depended on their actions, and it had chilled her more than the Blizzard itself to know that the dragon-god's intent was to level the homes of her hosts.
They had already succeeded in drawing its attention away from its goal. Now to keep it: already made swift by the blessings of the twin dragons and the thunder gods, Agility flared through Gwendolyn as she dove down, a hunter's stoop aiming to strike at the head of the dragon itself, moving to drag the tip of her spear along it before streaking skywards again - if a pest it sees them, then she will buzz around its head like a hive of beedrills!
From her shoulder, a bird-child's voice rings out in a Disarming Voice, wavery Bluuuuu carrying even with the sound of destruction around them. ]
no subject
Fools! This city will burn to ash and there isn't a thing you can do to stop it!
[With another roar, the dragon goes into an Outrage, crushing buildings as it walks right through them, moving closer to the party members who have decided to stay at range.]
no subject
Gouwan, rest now. It's time for me to take over.
[ The Payback was more than a little painful for the Psychic type, and Sanger sent the Pokemon way back, not willing to have it risk taking another blow like that. No, there were more than enough people on the field. ]
We are not the foolish ones here, [ he turns back to the giant dragon ] there is only one that stands alone, and you will soon understand why!
[ The Colossal Blade is drawn from its sheath, reshaping itself into a massive curved blade the size of a small man, and Sanger flings it right at Kyurem, enhanced weapon hurtling through the air in what can only be described as closest to a Steel Wing. ]

Fortunately for her, part of the wall caves in, meaning she falls inside.
Unfortunately for Gwendolyn, she IS knocked down. Down, but not out, not just yet, but she'll need time to gather herself. It's a clash of pain in her head and along her body, a blody gash across her shoulder and her shield arm bent at an angle she doesn't dare think about.
Muninn the Swablu is also knocked aside -- but while Gwendolyn is tossed back in an arc, he drops directly down, bouncing atop Kyurem's head as the God tantrums in Outrage. Well. Since he's here? PECK, PECK, PECK goes a tiny beak directly against the center of the dragon's forehead. ]
no subject
He's noisy isn't he? Badr, your turn - Focalor - keep an eye out if those guys want to assist Kyurem, Feliks - can you help me and Furfur create a fire barrier?
[Sinbad nods to Furfur as they dive back in, but instead of getting to their feet, he circles around the god, spinning around to create a circle of flames to force him to stop, the Fire Spin in place. It wouldn't be a barrier to some Kyurem's size, but it would give him a serious hot foot]
Badr! When you see an opening, take it and turn back, but there's a pokemon right on him so take care!
[The Dragonite took in a deep breath, zooming up in the air before dropping down in a blur of light the Dragon rushing to attack the god right in the back]

[Is it morally bad to actively dislike a god? Feliks sure does, with his ears ringing from that Hyper Voice attack and anger setting into his chest at the sheer senselessness of the god's vengeance. He's going to have to contemplate the that while slightly less in mortal danger, sometime.]
[He tugs on the reins of the Rapidash when the god turns in their direction, slowing to a halt. Jadwiga, thinking fast, hops off the Rapidash's back and uses Double Team on herself, in the hope that she'll be able to get a surprise attack in later if the god loses track of her real location. It's good, Feliks thinks, if she hangs back from the front lines a bit. But in a way, it's good if it's chasing them, right? After all...]
If that doesn't hold it, try and keep it mad enough to follow us and move away from the residential district! We can give people more time to get out that way!
[He takes a deep breath, staring up (and up and up) at the enormous dragon for a heart-stopping moment. It was bad enough to see the devastation unleashed on Glacier, but now, here, in Union, seeing his home set to ruin, his people in danger, and knowing worst of all that they won't be satisfied to stop at just Union...]
[His hand clenches around the grip of his saber. As he breathes in, he prepares to attack, gathers up his fury, his determination, his fire...]
[And without his even realizing it, a light starts to gather around him, faint and diffuse at first, then brighter and brighter until it's difficult for a moment to even look at him. He feels it like a rush in his veins, like the crashing of a great wave, like the steady flame of his own heart bursting suddenly into a wildfire, bright and great and terrible. He feels himself nearly lifted out of the saddle by sheer power of it, feels his heart racing with the thrill of knowing that it's his, that it's something that was always sleeping inside him, waiting...]
[Waiting for his reason. For something to protect.]
[He won't lose Fai again. He won't lose Union, and even more than that, he won't lose what Union stands for -- the mercy of the gods, the courage of a girl who gave herself to buy the undeserving a second chance. He won't give those up, not while he still breathes, not while his fire still burns in this world.]
[As the light scatters away, a newly Mega Evolved Feliks raises a hand towards the barrier Sinbad and his Pokemon started, and lets that fire pour out into it, a great Inferno adding to the flames already there, lifting them higher and hotter and fiercer into the night.]

[Merrill calls out to her Pokemon as the god begins to rampage, warning them of Kyurem's impending attack. The Rock types are slow, so they do get clipped and sent rolling, but they manage to survive the assault. It looks like the great beast is finally headed for her position further back, so it's time for Merrill to work some magic of her own.]
Shackling Hex!
[Holding her staff aloft, Merrill's tattoos begin to glow with a pinkish light as she summons up the spirits of nature itself to impede Kyurem's progress. Tendrils of Fairy energy erupt from the ground, weaving a sparkling web around the god in an attempt to give the others the time they need to strike it down.]
(ooc: Shackling Hex is a Fairy-type spell. It lowers the target's speed and accuracy by 50% and prevents it from inflicting critical hits.)
