The Elite Four Strikes
The battle is joined. The gods of Union, while mighty, seem to pale in comparison to the singular dragon of ice. Although they strive mightily to avoid damaging the city, already the mysterious blue dragon has been flung directly into a tower, earning itself a nasty gash over its eye, much to the dismay of the red dragon. While it has rejoined the fight, it is clear that the gods alone are not enough - the people of Union will have to step forward if they are to save their beloved city. The cries of the wounded and terrified citizens echo through the streets as the flames of battle rage. Now is the time - they must be stopped!

[He wasn't even thinking, his eyes widening as the mouth opens, remembering it's frigid cold from Glacier. Sinbad had the pendant in hand, activating the mega-evolution. His ears became dog-like as his hair, and scales turned a pinkish-white color, and long, fur sprouted over his massive tail, giving a fox-like appearance as his vulnerable dragon type became ice]
Augh! Ooooow... that still hurts. Everyone else okay?
[He grits his teeth, sinking down to try to avoid the worst of the blast and to allow the growlithe to jump into his arms]
Ah... That guy's huge. Focalor, hit him in the weak points, I'll be flying with Furfur. Everyone, I suggest spreading out as much as you can - keep him from being able to focus on one area.
[It's risky, but the God was huge, and they were small, he just has to be quick and nimble. The Rufflet squawks, swooping around like an Aerial Ace as Sinbad flies in close, circling around their feet, using the Growlithe like a portable Flamethrower]
no subject
We're good! Spread out, huh?
Mieszko -- use Agility!
[The Rapidash whinnies, and his hoofbeats speed up as Feliks guides him further around to the other side of the great dragon, where it'll be harder for the god to attack them and everyone else at the same time. Just as Feliks is about to order another Moonblast, he hears a familiar trilling in the air above him -- it looks like his Dragonair has caught up with him. (It wasn't hard to find him, really, she's saying, for the benefit of any who can hear. Figure out where the worst danger is, and charge right at it.)]
Huzar? What are you doing here?
--Whatever, good timing! Draco Meteor, now!
[The young Dragonair nods, then soars up high, letting out a high-pitched battle cry as she summons the attack.]

While...Yuuna starts gathering her focus, her will, her anger...everything...and crushing it into a ball. Blue fire forms between her hands, a charged sphere of energy ready to go...but the blessings have a secondary effect too. The ball begins to blaze with real fire, a second layer on top of the fighting attack.]
TAKE THIS YOU OVERGROWN DRUDDIGON!
[And she shoots out a Focus Blast right at the dragon's backside!]
no subject
A height she's not used to - the Howling Gale had always lent her speed but her body was unused to the forces this high up. But she would weather it. The people of Union depended on their actions, and it had chilled her more than the Blizzard itself to know that the dragon-god's intent was to level the homes of her hosts.
They had already succeeded in drawing its attention away from its goal. Now to keep it: already made swift by the blessings of the twin dragons and the thunder gods, Agility flared through Gwendolyn as she dove down, a hunter's stoop aiming to strike at the head of the dragon itself, moving to drag the tip of her spear along it before streaking skywards again - if a pest it sees them, then she will buzz around its head like a hive of beedrills!
From her shoulder, a bird-child's voice rings out in a Disarming Voice, wavery Bluuuuu carrying even with the sound of destruction around them. ]
no subject
Fools! This city will burn to ash and there isn't a thing you can do to stop it!
[With another roar, the dragon goes into an Outrage, crushing buildings as it walks right through them, moving closer to the party members who have decided to stay at range.]
no subject
Gouwan, rest now. It's time for me to take over.
[ The Payback was more than a little painful for the Psychic type, and Sanger sent the Pokemon way back, not willing to have it risk taking another blow like that. No, there were more than enough people on the field. ]
We are not the foolish ones here, [ he turns back to the giant dragon ] there is only one that stands alone, and you will soon understand why!
[ The Colossal Blade is drawn from its sheath, reshaping itself into a massive curved blade the size of a small man, and Sanger flings it right at Kyurem, enhanced weapon hurtling through the air in what can only be described as closest to a Steel Wing. ]

Fortunately for her, part of the wall caves in, meaning she falls inside.
Unfortunately for Gwendolyn, she IS knocked down. Down, but not out, not just yet, but she'll need time to gather herself. It's a clash of pain in her head and along her body, a blody gash across her shoulder and her shield arm bent at an angle she doesn't dare think about.
Muninn the Swablu is also knocked aside -- but while Gwendolyn is tossed back in an arc, he drops directly down, bouncing atop Kyurem's head as the God tantrums in Outrage. Well. Since he's here? PECK, PECK, PECK goes a tiny beak directly against the center of the dragon's forehead. ]
no subject
He's noisy isn't he? Badr, your turn - Focalor - keep an eye out if those guys want to assist Kyurem, Feliks - can you help me and Furfur create a fire barrier?
[Sinbad nods to Furfur as they dive back in, but instead of getting to their feet, he circles around the god, spinning around to create a circle of flames to force him to stop, the Fire Spin in place. It wouldn't be a barrier to some Kyurem's size, but it would give him a serious hot foot]
Badr! When you see an opening, take it and turn back, but there's a pokemon right on him so take care!
[The Dragonite took in a deep breath, zooming up in the air before dropping down in a blur of light the Dragon rushing to attack the god right in the back]

[Is it morally bad to actively dislike a god? Feliks sure does, with his ears ringing from that Hyper Voice attack and anger setting into his chest at the sheer senselessness of the god's vengeance. He's going to have to contemplate the that while slightly less in mortal danger, sometime.]
[He tugs on the reins of the Rapidash when the god turns in their direction, slowing to a halt. Jadwiga, thinking fast, hops off the Rapidash's back and uses Double Team on herself, in the hope that she'll be able to get a surprise attack in later if the god loses track of her real location. It's good, Feliks thinks, if she hangs back from the front lines a bit. But in a way, it's good if it's chasing them, right? After all...]
If that doesn't hold it, try and keep it mad enough to follow us and move away from the residential district! We can give people more time to get out that way!
[He takes a deep breath, staring up (and up and up) at the enormous dragon for a heart-stopping moment. It was bad enough to see the devastation unleashed on Glacier, but now, here, in Union, seeing his home set to ruin, his people in danger, and knowing worst of all that they won't be satisfied to stop at just Union...]
[His hand clenches around the grip of his saber. As he breathes in, he prepares to attack, gathers up his fury, his determination, his fire...]
[And without his even realizing it, a light starts to gather around him, faint and diffuse at first, then brighter and brighter until it's difficult for a moment to even look at him. He feels it like a rush in his veins, like the crashing of a great wave, like the steady flame of his own heart bursting suddenly into a wildfire, bright and great and terrible. He feels himself nearly lifted out of the saddle by sheer power of it, feels his heart racing with the thrill of knowing that it's his, that it's something that was always sleeping inside him, waiting...]
[Waiting for his reason. For something to protect.]
[He won't lose Fai again. He won't lose Union, and even more than that, he won't lose what Union stands for -- the mercy of the gods, the courage of a girl who gave herself to buy the undeserving a second chance. He won't give those up, not while he still breathes, not while his fire still burns in this world.]
[As the light scatters away, a newly Mega Evolved Feliks raises a hand towards the barrier Sinbad and his Pokemon started, and lets that fire pour out into it, a great Inferno adding to the flames already there, lifting them higher and hotter and fiercer into the night.]

[Merrill calls out to her Pokemon as the god begins to rampage, warning them of Kyurem's impending attack. The Rock types are slow, so they do get clipped and sent rolling, but they manage to survive the assault. It looks like the great beast is finally headed for her position further back, so it's time for Merrill to work some magic of her own.]
Shackling Hex!
[Holding her staff aloft, Merrill's tattoos begin to glow with a pinkish light as she summons up the spirits of nature itself to impede Kyurem's progress. Tendrils of Fairy energy erupt from the ground, weaving a sparkling web around the god in an attempt to give the others the time they need to strike it down.]
(ooc: Shackling Hex is a Fairy-type spell. It lowers the target's speed and accuracy by 50% and prevents it from inflicting critical hits.)
no subject
Gouken, Turnip! Your turn!
[She has to breathe a little, that shot took a lot out of her. But...that's alright, because the two Fighting types bound forward at top speed, leaping into the air thanks to the blessings and coming down hard against the side of the god. The duo both use Close Combat, hoping to shatter it's icy hide with the most powerful fighting type moves they can learn.]
no subject
Merrill's attack seems somewhat effective- it isn't smashing through buildings as quickly as it was before, and the Close Combat attacks make the dragon hesitate for a moment, something to be said of a force this terrifying.]
Pests! Such futile efforts, but no matter, I will put you in your place- buried deep under the rubble of the city you have so fruitlessly built!
[Stomping forward, it slowly closes the gap between the humans and their pokémon and itself, slamming its body into another building to create its own Rock Slide to attempt to bury as many as it can under the crumbling foundation.]
no subject
[ So yells the tiny bird in Disarming Voice as it is forcefully removed from the dragon's head, painfully bounced aside as the Outrage continues. His wings flail furiously as he tries to gain a bit of height, only to be scooped up - albeit awkwardly - moments later.
Gritting her teeth a moment, Gwendolyn directs the winds to carry her higher, dark eyes glaring at the dragon - do not think she does not see your actions here, and her leap barely got her free of the building before the dragon's bulk began smashing against it. ]
Return to Myris, Muninn! [there's a warble of dismay at the order, but after a resolute glare, the tiny bird retreats from the field]
[Rock Slide or no, destruction or no, this has to end before Union does. Before they can move on to another city. Mindful not to jostle her broken arm as best she can, right hand hefts up her spear. Adjusting her grip, Gwendolyn takes a deep breath, summoning the winds around it. Buoyed by the blessings of the Lightning Gods, her windblessed abilities direct them firmly, until a fierce Gust adds its cuts to the blade's edge as it tears the air around her in pale green and white streaks of cloud.]
May the Howling Gale lend my spear wings and grant it talons to strike you down!
[ And then she throws it, ignoring the roar of pain lancing down her opposite side as she puts all her strength into the throw. The spear is launched like a javelin, aimed directly for the dragon's face -- an eye for an eye, Kyurem. ]
no subject
Nay, it is the one who invades our homes on the pretext of a righteous crusade that is the pest! [ Sanger boosts straight through the rockslide, Colossal Blade extended to its full length. ]
CHESTO!
[ There's no need for fancy names or special strikes this time. Just take this huge damn sword and slam it into the dragon god's leg edge-first. That always seems to work. Doubly so if its a Steel type strike into an Ice type. ]
no subject
[The Rapidash gets knocked off his feet by a large chunk of building and slides quite a ways before he comes to a stop; really, the only good luck is that Feliks gets thrown completely clear of him by the force of the blow, and doesn't end up with a Rapidash crushing him. Huzar the Dragonair cries out in alarm and fury, throwing herself at Kyurem with a Dragon Rush attack.]
{Leave him alone! Leave them all alone, you monster!}
[Feliks is anything but down for the count, though. He drags himself to his feet, bleeding and bruised, but seeming if anything sharper than ever. He picks up his sword from the ground, and grasps it firmly in hand.]
You think that's gonna keep us down?
[Gathering bright, sparkling energy around him, he runs up the incline of a fallen wall, straight at Kyurem, to attack it up close and personal. When Feliks Plays Rough, he doesn't hold back.]
no subject
His Ring wouldn't be useful against the rocks or the attack the god's putting out, but he can do something - he remember his ability had a harder time catching hold given Kyurem's ice-type, but it had slow him long enough in Glacier]
Feliks - get back as soon as you can, everyone else, don't get within Melee range, or you might get caught in my special ability.
Futile? Hardly! That burn alone proves you are not all powerful. You've been driven back once before. And that's with only two gods, and less people - did really you think your odds would be better now?
[With that, he drops down to land on top of the god, sword unsheathed and striking down to stab - the real intention is not to cut, but to secure a contact point as the air around him chills, flowing through him, slowing the molecules in and around the god to Freeze him in place. He knew his taunt as well as being on him would make him a prime target, but if he can slow him down, and more importantly draw his attention away from the heavy hitters]

[The unmistakable cry of Merrill's Goodra rings out throughout the area as it flings itself on top of her, taking the brunt of Kyurem's attack and shielding its trainer. She rises moments later, still damaged and bleeding but not in nearly as bad a shape as she'd have been without his help, and places a hand on her trusted partner's shoulder.]
Drippy... ma serannas. It's time to strike back.
[Nodding at Merrill, Drippy summons up his remaining strength to launch a Dragon Pulse attack at Kyurem. As for Merrill, she once again begins to weave a spell, channeling her peoples' mysterious connection to nature to use Wrath of the Elvhen. This time, the tendrils of Fairy energy whip out at Kyurem directly, dealing damage and feeding that energy right back to Merrill.]
(ooc: Wrath of the Elvhen is a high powered Fairy type attack that restores half of the damage it deals as HP to Merrill.)
no subject
Try it, Scaly!
[And then she leaps straight up a half-dozen stories, fist first, aiming a Sky Uppercut directly on the god's lower jaw. And as Sinbad's attack comes in, she fires off a second Focus Blast into Kyurem's neck, propelling herself away from Sinbad's attack and...into a ruined building with a crash. The movement is aided by the blessings and her own Magnet Rise, so she's got some protection but still? THAT...sounded like it hurt.]
no subject
[The onslaught of attacks finally seem to be slowing the dragon down even more, roaring in pain as it thrashes from side to side. The spear aimed at its eye doesn't hit its mark, but it does bury itself into the side of its head, finding a soft spot around its eye to inflict damage. Attack from the other pokémon rain down onto the god, snarling as it feels its own life energy sucked away and restored back to Merrill.
Not only that, but it serves as a great distraction for Yuuna's uppercut, head jerking back with the added explosion from the Focus Blast. Sanger's blade cuts deep, and Feliks certainly isn't joking around, the brunt of the attacks causing great pain. a Hail starts to fall, storm clouds forming above until ice rains from the sky on top of the party.
There's a pinprick on its back, that irritates the god. It ignores the Freeze, and in retaliation to this mosquito on its back, it rolls over. Just as if you'd told a dog to roll over, Kyurem rolls to try to crush Sinbad and anyone who's gotten within melee range of it.]
no subject
Sanger could probably jet right out of the way. He's in relatively good shape, his typing keeping the dragon god's attacks from crippling him, and his minor regeneration ability topping him up. He's built almost entirely for moving really quickly in straight lines, too.
But there's no guarantee that the same is true of his ragtag group of allies, so something more drastic is in order. ]
Come, Aiken! [ The Growlithe bounds to Sanger's side, eager to no longer be kept from battle. He's not nearly prepared for battle alone yet in Sanger's eyes, but he can still help with something. ]
Roar, Colossal Blade! Be wreathed in flames and strike down evil! [ And on command, the Growlithe hops onto the base of the giant sword, Sanger straining to control the weight of the combined duo. A Flame Wheel coats both canine Pokemon and sword in fire, and a leap from Sanger brings them right into Kyurem's path, blade-first. ]
Flame Emperor Strike!
[ Okay, so it's not quite making Kyurem step on a Lego, but rolling onto a flaming sword, even if it is a needle in comparison to its sheer size can't be fun. ]
no subject
Drippy... can you help us one more time?
[The gooey dragon nods slowly, its breathing labored. But then... it begins to dance, and suddenly it's leaping about, as light as a feather. Drippy is a gentle soul who prefers fun to fighting, and dancing is one of its favorite things to do. A Rain Dance takes effect, supplanting Kyurem's Hail and replacing it with a refreshing rain.]
Good, Drippy. Please... stay safe.
[Merrill, on the other hand, turns to the darker part of her skillset, weaving another spell aimed at the great beast. Her tattoos begin to glow with a purple light, her single spiral iris swirling in time with the green globes that orbit her body, looking for all the world like a humanoid Spiritomb as her Death Hex washes over Kyurem.]
(ooc: Death Hex is a Dark-type status move. Until Merrill's next turn, all attacks against Kyurem will be automatic critical hits.)
no subject
[And then a god just falls at him.]
[Far above, Huzar is in a state of outright panic, but she's being bombarded by the hail, and can't manage to do much more than shout and try (without much success) to dodge the ice pelting her from the sky. Mieszko is still struggling to stand, whinnying in frustration and barely-controlled fear -- one of his forelegs seems like he's having trouble putting weight on it, and the wind's been knocked out of him pretty hard. Jadwiga, sensing Feliks's burst of pain and panic but unable to see where he is, unable to get a clear shot at using Heal Pulse on him, takes a leaf from her trainer's book, channels her worry into fury like a mother Beartic's; she takes aim at the weakest point she can see on Kyurem, and pushes all the power she possibly can into her Moonblast attack.]
[Feliks sees his life flash before his eyes, he honestly does. He sees his family, sees Fai surrounded by his Pokemon on a picnic blanket in the Flourites' garden, smiling at him like he's the most incredible thing he's ever seen, sees Yuuna and Waver and Pamela and all of the other friends he's made, sees all the incredible places he's been in these last years, sees Death's cold blue eyes and great red wings...]
[Not today.]
[When Feliks opens his eyes, he's on the ground. He can see smoke, broken buildings, a little bit of the night sky to his left, and nothing but Kyurem to his right. He's winded, bruised, breathing -- but his right arm is pinned down. His shoulder feels out of joint, his arm is almost certainly broken with all that weight on it.]
[And if Kyurem rolls in his direction, he's going to have a lot worse to worry about than that. He needs to get out, but can't if Kyurem doesn't lift up for a moment...]
[Well. Time to see how the bastard likes Inferno when Feliks is right there, pinned to it, both hands pressed directly to that icy hide as he channels all the fire he can manage outward through them.]
no subject
ohfuckohfuckfuckfuckfuck-
[The panicked response came out unintentionally, than he felt a shearing, blinding flash of pain as he's suddenly knocked to the ground - letting out a psychic scream as his tail became trapped under the god's weight]
Ngh...
[His ears pinned back as he lets out a pained whimper, nails clawing at the ground to try to get out from under it as Badr and Furfur returned, joining Feliks' Inferno with another blast of Furfur's Flamethrower to try to force the god off of their human]
no subject
The hail is awful. Even with the blessings of ice to counter Kyurem, the god's raging ice storm still slams into the airborne Valkyrie, and between that and the pain from her broken arm drive her low, lower down out of the sky. Not into the path of the rolling dragon, though that is surely a matter of good fortune on that account -- especially as the rush of air from that action sends her careering towards the ground instead!
It's merely through sheer willpower alone that she doesn't slam into the cobblestones. But the landing is anything but graceful, a stagger that ends in a near-trip, before she drops with a clank of armor to her knees in the slush and the mud and the dust and dirt and hail. In her present state, she can hardly swoop in to save someone else, and both her pokémon companions are now well away from the fight. As it should be.
But she will not be brought low, not now, and not here. Not by the likes of this dragon. Slowly pushing herself to her feet, Gwendolyn staggers away from the alleyways and out into the open stretch of ground created by the dragon's rampage. Extends one hand forward as she grits her teeth, and focuses, calling on the Wind's blessing, calling on the great Tree's air, and directing it in a furious Gust. And not just air. The wind swirls in response to her anger, picking up falling ice as it goes to hurl it back at Kyurem, until Gwendolyn is casting not just furious air but drawing with it dust and dirt and debris, all to pelt the Dragon with in what is as close to a Sand Attack a human can manage from the ruins of the city around her. ]

He leaps clear just before reaching the claws, up onto a building, where he sets about wagging his tail and ducking inside the crumbling ruin. Whatever man, he's the prince of all flame-monkeys, he's got this.
Kyo's a pretty crafty Kaiju, all things considered, too. He opens his mouth and spits out a Stealth Rock in the rolling god's path. Sharp, sharp, super-effective rocks all over the ground. It'll be like rolling around on a hell of a lot of nails, that's for sure...]
