Descent into Darkness
As the characters arrive, they will find what appears to be a rather deep cavern. Upon entering, the caverns are quite narrow, with twists and turns everywhere and different tunnels that all seem to be interconnected. As characters travel deeper within the caverns, reality around them will start to warp, they will start to see and hear things that aren’t necessarily there - images of old enemies, past failures, voices of condemnation, visions that strike at the soul and core of the characters. Once this begins, it will only increase in power and volume, demanding it be confronted, lest they be trapped within these caves forever.
[OOC: This event will run for a week. All characters who enter the caves will be subject to some of their deepest fears, darkest demons, and most abject failures. To overcome them, characters must help each other out, finding their purpose through strength of character and resolve to move forward. In general, these visions should require characters to come to grips with themselves. Illusory images and voices can and will appear and can take any number of forms, depending on what is most appropriate to a character. Additionally, characters may thread with each other and are encouraged to help each other out to overcome these personal demons. For those who wish to take part, they are able and encouraged to narrate their own personal demons, which will be on display for everyone who enters their thread. IC threads may be made in this post.]

...Michiru? Is that you? [Right calls out as he moves towards the source of that voice.]
no subject
Right? [she hurries towards that voice, Gardevoir following close behind.
And when she does finally get close enough, she offers him a relieved smile.] I'm glad to see you.

no subject
Unfortunately, it's not under the most auspicious of occasions.
[Gardevoir nods seriously at Lucario] Have you seen this before?
[is it just from her particular brand of nightmares or what?]
no subject
[At least there's no fire and dead bodies; small blessing right there.]
no subject
Michiru nods and then starts walking down a street, trusting Right to follow.]
This...is what drew me to the Defense Force in the first place, this vision of the future.
[it's more like a reoccurring nightmare, where you wake up with your heart pounding, feeling like you can't breathe. But no, Michiru says it in the most casual way possible.]
no subject
So...this is a warning of what'll happen if we fail? If we let Humanity repeat the mistakes of the past?
no subject
[behind them, the buildings start crumbling away into nothing. About a block behind them, it's just emptiness. Fitting, given the oppressive silence.
Michiru isn't exactly cooperating with that fear thing, however. Smiling and pretending nothing is bothering her is much too ingrained.]
no subject
He and his Pokemon do jump, however, and look over their shoulders to see the buildings starting to crumble into...nothing?] A lot more than that.
no subject
It's just saying that the human world will be destroyed if we don't do anything about it.
[she doesn't sound impressed at all. She already knew all that.
Unfortunately, the blackness surges forward and suddenly, the destruction of the buildings is speeding up. And is relentlessly coming towards them.]
Run. [a quick glance at Right and all his Pokemon. Any fast ones in there? She's about to summon her Rapidash or her Noivern, but she's also not about to leave Right behind.]
no subject
--Yami, wait up! [Right immediately grabs his slowest Pokemon - his Herdier - and starts running, too. His Lucario, Litwick, and Zubat all follow closely behind.
...though Right might soon be outpaced by his Pokemon within a few moments.]
no subject
Her Gardevoir glides, keeping pace and keeping an eye on that Litwick. That billowing cloud of dust is moving even faster than the destruction.]
no subject
Right's Litwick, Hikari, glides as quickly as her little ghostly body is able. She's keeping up...but barely.]
no subject
As soon as it doesn't seem like Right is going to fall off, Michiru leans forward, whispering encouragement to Rapidash. They thunder on and...that's an edge. Rapidash skids to a stop, eyes rolling.
It might as well be the Edge of the World, given the way the emptiness seems to be sucking in all light and sound. Even the sound of the destruction behind them seems muted and almost insignificant.
...there's something in the darkness. Bright blue eyes.] Right.
no subject
Right clings to Michiru as best as he can with one arm, continuing to hold Wagon close to him with the other. When they skid to a stop, and those bright blue eyes appear in the darkness ahead, a chill went down his spine.] ...I see it. Is that what I think it is?
no subject
Rapidash steps back from the edge, keeping some healthy distance between them. Michiru looks back at the destruction of the buildings, but that seems to have stopped. Or...slowed down? They don't have much time, huh?]
Waltz! [her Gardevoir immediately sets up a Light Screen. Rapidash's flames get even higher as it snorts, pawing at the ground.
Darkrai, on the other hand, disappears from view using a Feint Attack.]
no subject
[This...this is starting to remind him of his team's expedition back into the past...and how terribly wrong it went. He can even hear the haunting wing beats of the white bird-God in his head...
...or is it just in his head?]
no subject
Talk? What use is there in talking? [the logical part of her mind agrees that it really does seem to work on most of the gods, but all the other parts are simply connecting 1) Haruka is missing and 2) Darkrai had taken her away in the past.
Gardevoir lets go of Hikari and takes up a fighting stance at Rapidash's flank, so they have eyes all around.]
no subject
[And yet, that haunting sound of huge wings seem to grow louder. Right pushes down his fear. It's just the dark part of his Imagination going nuts; nothing more. Or so he says to himself...]
no subject
[and that's a black claw, appearing out of nowhere and aiming right for their heads. Michiru and Gardevoir both slam Psychics at it, even as Rapidash does its best to run away.]
They keep coming back and testing us. [she sounds cold, as the rest of Darkrai appears through that portal, looking entirely unfazed. From above, however, something large and white might be using Fly right at where Darkrai had herded them to.]
no subject
no subject
Right!
no subject
Stop that, Yami! We're not running away this time! [He yanks his arms out of the ear-hands of his furry friend and slowly got up.] It's time we settle this...
no subject
[she picks herself up, taking a moment to reach out to her Rapidash. Gardevoir hovers protectively over them. At least Rapidash seems no worse for the wear, even if its eyes are rolling about madly. It doesn't do well with Ghosts, even if Darkrai isn't exactly a Ghost type.]
Waltz! Vivace!
[Gardevoir charges up with a Moonblast while Rapidash does the same with Flare Blitz and then waits for their cue. Michiru herself uses Lock-On, taking aim the next spot Darkrai will come through. Looks like she's focusing on one at a time.]
no subject
[Yami nods, but does grumble something about not wanting to come back before Right switches him out for his Roggenrola.] Stone, Blast the Bird God so that he focuses on me and Michiru!
[He's got an idea as to how to quickly end this...and while it might be nuts to be attacking Gods right now, it's the best way to get their attention. Besides, he's hoping that what he failed to do last time he saw that white legendary bird...
He can actually succeed this time.]
