You are still welcome to include a section for bonding with wild Pokémon as a part of another entry or a log, but we encourage isolated wild Pokémon threads to go here to prevent flooding of the main comm with entries specifically geared to only cover wild Pokémon threads.

That’s true enough.

[Rei’s lips curl into a vaguely bemused expression. Usagi, at least, was somewhat self aware and that was always a blessing in a girl like her. Miffed or no, she had given them a bit of a lead, a direction to go. So, confident in Deimos’ ability to keep Usagi safe from any Yamask that happens to wander by she keeps on going, though at a sedate pace. If there is something there, there’s no reason to startle it by rushing in.

Deimos, however, regards Usagi with an impassive expression, but accepts the snack with a dip of her head. It vanishes in a single bite, as even graceful creatures like Gardevoir get hungry too. And they have favorite snacks…but that’s not enough to really distract her from the mission of “watch Usagi, make sure she doesn’t get hurt by ghosts.” And to that end, she nods towards her trainer, starting to follow Rei towards the ruined watchtower.

When they catch up, Rei’s just standing there, looking skeptically at the entrance. It’s in bad shape, the top collapsed all the way down to the doorframes, debris littering the ground around it. The whole thing is covered in a thick coat of loamy moss, stained by salt and time, and the atmosphere is nothing short of ominous. Dark winds swirl around it, and the sounds of something moving inside are troubling at the very least.]

Are…you ready, Deimos? Usagi? The lines lead here.

[ After a bit of dusting off, Usagi's pretty much good to go in terms of adventuring and heads off to follow Rei to the broken down watch tower. It's an absolute miserable looking place, and the wind causes a shiver to crawl down Usagi's spine as she glances around the area.

One, to make sure that there weren't any on coming pokemon, and two because she can't help but let her mind wander to those places she's been trying to ignore for now. ]

As ready as I can be! ... Mostly.

[ Usagi fully looks at the watch tower before glancing over to her friend. ]

Let's do this.

[faithfulflame]

Alright.

[Rei does the smart thing, and not only brings out Deimos, but calls out Sabaeus as well. The Gengar appears and immediately melds into her shadow, eyes blinking up at Usagi. He'll guard the back. You help up front.]

Let's go.

[Rei steps forward and pushes open the rotting door, causing it to fall away almost immediately, the wood crumbling away into a loamy dust. Wrinkling her nose, the priestess steps inside, calling up a Will O Wisp to light the long forgotten chamber. The lines of fate she's seeing led her here...but there doesn't seem to be anything there. Just a few old boxes, a rusty metal chest, and some moldy old axes and spears that look like they've seen better days.]

Well...it seems to be clear. I guess we should have a look around, huh?

[ Usagi just winces when the door makes the loud noise as it falls. But, when the dust and debris settles, Usagi just follows on in, eyes glancing around at just how archaic this watch tower is. ]

You think it's hiding in those boxes over there?

[ She motions over to where the few boxes are scattered around. ]

[faithfulflame]

[Rei's eyes track and she nods towards them.]

Why don't you check? And I'll see if it's over by this chest?

Sure! I can do that...

[ And like that, Usagi just makes her way towards the boxes and looks down at them with her hands on her hips. Hm.

She dusts the top of the first box and opens it up to start rummaging through it to see what could be there... ]

[faithfulflame]

[When she opens the box, two things happen. First, there's a bright flash of light. And second? Out pops a rather indignant looking Wingull! The seabird squawks at her, a gem inside it's mouth flashing.]

What?!

Eeeep!

[ Usagi stumbles backwards when the flash of happens, and lands flat on her butt. It hurts, but, now she's got to try and get her vision back to normal. ]

What the heck is going on?!

[faithfulflame]

GUll!

[The bird Pokemon squawks again and flaps it's wings, taking off and flying outside, but drops the little crystal next to Usagi.]

Apparently you annoyed one of the locals.

Well, excuse me! That didn't mean you had to go and scare me half to death!

[ Usagi yells at the retreating Wingull before moving to stand up. ]

What's this?

[ The shiny stone has grabbed her attention, and now she's reaching to pick it up. ]

[faithfulflame]

[It's a small crystalline key, one that looks like it's made out of spun glass.]

I don't know.

[She glares after the Wingull too.]

What is it?

It's.. a key?

[ Yep. Usagi does a once over on the object before holding it out for Rei to look at. ]

I've heard that birds like shiny things... that Wingull probably was probably keeping it for itself.

[faithfulflame]

[Rei looks it over herself, and takes it. There's an audible popping sound, and she blinks.]

Did...you hear that?

[It comes again, a tapping, popping sound.]

[ The first time the popping noise happens, Usagi's head immediately turns to the chest that's literally about a foot away from her.

She's a little apprehensive, but, she still makes her way over to it the moment it makes the noise for the second time. ]

I swear if another pokemon comes out to scare me....

[faithfulflame]

[Rei turns too, walking over and kneeling down to open it.]

Well just stand back then.

[She tries it, and it seems locked. So...she takes a guess and tries the key. and it clicks open to reveal...a small green bird!

A small green bird that is very excitedly flapping it's wings! And bouncing out of the chest to land squarely on Usagi's head! And this time? It's Rei that winds up on her butt, surprised by the sudden leap.]

H-Hey!

[inthenameofthemoon]

[ And stand back she does! She watches carefully, muscles tense enough to move in case something does come barreling out in a hurry...

Except the green bird is faster than her, and before she can cover her head, Usagi feels a nostalgic pressure sitting on her head.

She blinks. Blinks again, and then slowly looks up with an incredulous look on her face. ]

Huh?

[faithfulflame]

Tu Tu!

[Rei picks herself up as the bird chirps, staring at the little green featherball curiously.]

Are you the one I'm looking for?

[The bird stares at her, eyes wide. Usagi...please don't move and scare the birdy!]

I've been looking for a Natu...just like you. Usagi-chan...can you...not move so I can talk to him?

[Her warp band comes out, and activates. And...she begins the empathic communication.]

O-okay!

[ Oh god. She can't move? OKAY! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.


.... Except after about 30 seconds, Usagi starts feeling her muscles twitch at having to stand still while something important is going on. ]

[faithfulflame]

[The entire exchange takes...about a full minute. But the bird shows no signs of moving or leaving even if Usagi does begin to shift.

And when it's all over, the band clicks, and the little Natu hops over to Rei's shoulder.]

Thank you, Usagi-chan. and thank you, Ravi.

[ SIGH. Usagi finally exhales once Rei is done mentally chatting and bonding with the Natu, straightening herself up before stretching her neck and shoulders. ]

Ravi, huh? That's a nice name!

[ And with that she walks over and smiles up at the green bird. ]

Hi, Ravi! I'm Usagi. It's nice to meet you!

Tu, Tu, Natu!

[The little guy hops from one side of Rei to the other, turning to look at the new friend. Because everything was a friend. Probably.]

I don't know where the name came from, but it feels right. Like...it's important to him somehow.

Well, if it's important to him then we can't just ignore that, now can we!

[ Usagi just grins up at the Natu once more before shifting her gaze to Rei. ]

So, where to next?

[Rei quirks her head at the question, because that line hadn't quite vanished like it usually did.]

There's another...thing...here that's important. I think it's a Pokemon, actually. But the connection is fainter than with Ravi.
