Where: The newly discovered island
What: After recent events, the people of Union could use a bit of R&R. What better place than a tropical island?
Warnings: Drinks with little umbrellas in them, swimsuits, idek

An island paradise, discovered just off the southern coast, less than a day's travel from the city. A strong enough Pokemon could easily carry their partner and others out there. It was hard to say just who sent the original message, but pictures surfaced, with the tagline "Don't you wish you were here," came over the warp bands' feeds, and, like Venomoths to the flame, people began clamoring toward this new found tropical get-away. Those who wanted to go would find it easy enough--with so many people making their way to investigate, for whatever reason they claimed (but let's be honest, it was probably the beach), one could just hitch a ride.

The island itself appeared untouched by human contact. The Pokemon were strange and different compared to the fare immediately around Union. A warm breeze blew through palm trees, carrying the scent of hibiscus flowers. The water, blue as the summer sky, was warm and inviting.

This truly was a paradise.

[Chester hadn't really planned on coming out here with everyone, but now that he was he was... kind of sad. It was sunny and warm and nice out and all he could think about was how his little sister would have loved seeing it. He decides to stray from their group, seeing a lot of tropical flowers and fruit up further on the shore near the jungle. Maybe he'd pick some to bring to her grave. Yeah, that sounded nice. Trying not to think to hard on it, he trudged up the sand with his Yanma, Hayate, buzzing around above him. Of course, as always, Chester has his bow and arrow slung across his back.]

[There's a rustle in the brush as Chester gets the distinct feeling that he's being watched]

That's weird.

[He looks up at Hayate (his Yanma) circling above him.]

Do you see anything around?

[The Pokemon just buzzes in response, not sounding alarmed... so Chester presses onward...]

[Chester may note that the giant palm trees seem to be closing in on him. Wait, was that a foot?]

[Wait. It is a foot. Chester stops short, staring at the ground, then alllllll the way up the neck of the "Palm Tree," eyes widening. His Yanma... courageously hides behind Chester's back as the blue haired young man reached for his bow and arrow.]

[Chester sees coconuts in the trees. But they aren't coconuts. They're faces. Leering at him. All around him. And just as suddenly, he feels lances of pain shooting through his head as his vision blurs and spirals out of control. In his more coherent moments, he may recognize the telltale eye glow of a psychic assault.]

Savior.

[Chester gasps, putting a hand up to his head. He's too close and woozy now to fire an arrow at it, trying to scramble backward. Even with the attack though, he tries to think. Think, think, think, it looks like a tree, it's probably... Grass Type? And Psychic... Ugh, his head. Managing to open his Warp Band, his summons his Pidgey. The bird flies up right away, seeing his friends in danger, and tries to land a Brave Bird on the much stronger Pokemon while Chester tries to shake off the Psychic assault and get far enough away to fire at it.]

[The psychic attack abates as the attack strikes. The Pokemon, however, now turn their gaze on the Pidgey, which wobbles in the air as they stare it down before dropping out of the sky, snoring softly. As Chester's vision refocuses, he notices at least 8 of the tree Pokemon crowding around him.]

Shuu'u!

[Chester watches frantically as his Pidgey falls from the air, asleep, his eyes wide. With the Psychic gone, he can finally fire one of his steel tipped arrows at the strange tree Pokemon... Only to look around him, behind himself, and see so many more.]

Hayate, Shuu'u... Go back in the Warp Band!

[He's not going to let his Pokemon get hurt because of his own stupidity... They disappear back into the Warp Band, and he tries to look for an opening to run.]

[The trees are crowding around him, but his arrow did knock one off balance, giving him a small opening.]

[Chester picks himself up and bolts for the opening, just hoping he's quick enough...]

[He is! But one of the coconut heads is now sailing through the air right at him.]

[It hits him in square in the back, snapping his quiver of arrows and sending all of them sailing in random directions. Vaguely, in the back of his mind, he prays for any tiny Bug or Grass Pokemon to forgive him if they get hit. He leans to pick up two or three for defense, but continues to book it out of there, toward the shore again.]

[The trees give chase! As more coconuts start flying, some of them land near Chester as he flees.

And explode.]

[When one explodes, Chester cries out sharply in pain. His ankle got the brunt of most of it, a big gash formed up the side of his calf. He stumbles forward a few steps before the pain is too much and he falls again. He tries to open his Warp Band to call for help, but another head explodes and sends him tumbling down into the tropical brush again.]

[things were looking pretty grim for Chester! Psychic trees with exploding coconuts? What a world. But thankfully for the beleaguered trainer, Eren happened to be walking by on the beach nearby, near the edge where it turned to jungle. He pauses, thinking he heard something over the sound of the waves. Screaming? It's hard to tell.

But then something fucking explodes, which he hears loud and clear. Explosions were never good.

Eren shifts to Skarmory form and runs into the jungle at full tilt, slashing easily through underbrush with his wings, and it isn't long before he catches the scent of blood. Thanks to all the brush and trees, though, he can't quite see where the source is! He calls out]

Hey!! Is someone in trouble out here?! Call back so I can find you!!

[Eren sees a mass of coconut-tree Pokemon closing in on a wounded young man]

[Chester's lucky he hears Eren's voice, or he may have been done for. Using the last of his strength to fire one of the arrows he picked up off the ground, he shoots it at the closest tree's heads, but he's unable to get up with his leg so wounded.]

H-help! Help, over here!

[Eren hears the call and sees the weird tree pokémon and runs over, crashing through the bushes and slicing through a few vines. He pushes between the Pokémon so he can stand over the wounded trainer with his wings spread wide. He hisses at the exeggutors, rustling his steel feathers against each other to make a lot of noise as a warning. He turns his head sideways to look at Chester]

Are you ok? Can you walk?

[The Exeggutors back off, eyeing Eren nervously. They're not sure if they should attack - yet.]

It's my leg. It hurts to stand up.

[He readies his last arrow, teeth grit.]

These guys have to go first.

Right!

[Well, he'll have to get them to scatter before he can transform back and offer the guy a shoulder to lean on. He turns back toward the shore and hisses at the Exeggutors standing in his way. He feints slashes at them with his wings as another warning. Get out of the way, or the next attack won't miss]

[The Exeggutor eye Eren warily. One of them meets his gaze, and its eyes start glowing. Eren begins to feel very sleepy.]

[After his bought with a Psychic attack, Chester knows what those glowing eyes mean and he shouts again,]

Don't look at its face! It'll get in your head!

[the drowsiness is so sudden. Eren feels his legs wobble underneath him. But the benefit of being a Shifter means he knows what's going on, he knows what's happening here. Hypnosis. Eren snarls and closes his eyes, shaking his head to dispel the sleepiness. If he falls asleep now, they'll both be done for!

Eren looks at the Exeggutor's feet instead of at their faces and flaps both wings, unleashing twin Air Cutter attacks on the pokémon in an attempt to clear a path]
