The Elite Four Strikes

The battle is joined. The gods of Union, while mighty, seem to pale in comparison to the singular dragon of ice. Although they strive mightily to avoid damaging the city, already the mysterious blue dragon has been flung directly into a tower, earning itself a nasty gash over its eye, much to the dismay of the red dragon. While it has rejoined the fight, it is clear that the gods alone are not enough - the people of Union will have to step forward if they are to save their beloved city. The cries of the wounded and terrified citizens echo through the streets as the flames of battle rage. Now is the time - they must be stopped!

[As Toxic rained down, Ami would let the group take care of the god and she would take care of the group.]

[The Florges let it spread across all the others, as much as she could to remove any poison damage one of them might have gotten.

She then turned to Rei.]

Rei, we should could use a move in tandem against him! If you know a pledge move, we can all join it together!

[Ami had her own Ice Pledge, and new her fiancé also had fire-pledge but if others had the ability, it would only be more effective against an attack on the god.]

[ Kyurem watches their puny attempts to protect their miserable city with grumpy detachment, irked at all the places they've been able to save; elsewhere, the poison does indeed mix with the ice already on the ground to coat this area with a venomous sludge. Still, they've lessened the damage, and that's....something?

The Steel-types amuse it, however. The power of the Gods trumps immunities, so while Saber and Hayato won't feel the sting as badly as anyone else had they tried those same stunts, the poison will sting and sizzle against them, trying to work its way into their bodies. And as for that punch...

Yes, that punch. Kyurem watches the insect approaching it, then, just as Hayato's mighty Mega Punch is ready to connect with its jaw, opens its mouth so Hayato will hurdle inside instead. It closes its teeth behind him. ~~Thanks for the taco delivery.~~

The Mega Punch hits its back molars, and it growls, skull shaken by the hit. Then, turning its head, it spits Hayato back out at the group. Calderan food isn't to its liking. ]

[That's not right...Saber's completely unused to this feeling, the acidic burn of it, the disorienting nausea, the Calderan flying at her head. Wait.]

[Saber returns Hayato's favor, blearily using Magnet Rise to lift herself up and try to act as a cushion between him and the ground. As long as she can slow him down a little before they slam into the snow, they should be alright. Meanwhile, Edward fires off another Overheat to try and finish driving the dragon off.]

[ How rude. Calderan food is pretty great. But Tendou's hardly in any position to prove Kyurem wrong as he pulls himself out of a building, having been slammed there by a giant dragon wing. He's a little too light for that kind of brawling.

But hey. At least he's off the ground and far away from the poisonous snow? And here he thought yellow snow was bad. ]

Kagami, let's show it what really spicy food is like.

[ The Aegislash follows its trainer as he takes a running start, the floating sword and shield launching itself after the soaring fighter, a High Jump Kick and Sacred Sword headed right for its jaw. ]

[That went about half as well as expected. He noticed pretty quickly on that the poison was actually ...eating through? Holy shit what? And then the thing straight up tried to eat him]

[WELL IF HE WAS GOING TO PUNCH IT NOW WOULD BE BEST. For whatever good it did anyway. He's losing touch with everything by the time he's spat back out again and only kind of realizes he didn't go completely splat against the ground thanks to Saber. You're a fucking bro. Luckily he's sturdy if disoriented and he'll worry about any broken bones later. He rolls off of her as fast as he's able to try and help her up.]

[Try. More like he falls flat on his face because the poison is getting to him. Nikon is there to pick up her stupid trainer (and Saber if she needs the help) and throw him over her shoulder while trying to shield the other pokemon it's towering over with an Iron Defense. It's not blocking all of it but it's doing better than most at least.]

'Kicking a god in the face is the equivalent of a drop of rain on your face. [Ami wanted to smack them herself for their idiocy to keep trying to attack the god head on.

She turned to her Chansey.]

Nightengale, Healing Pulse! [The giant pink puff sent out the pulse to the others. Meanwhile, Ami's attention was on the poison starting to eat into the city. She knew Sunny Day would be over by now and so with the blessings of the gods, she leapt up high into the air but kept enough distance between her and the god, she used Water Pledge to attack, knowing Rei would join her and hopefully if others knew it, they would as well.]

Right! If you or your Pokemon know a Pledge now would be the time to use it!

[Rei holds up her hands, gathering power behind that shield, and aims a Fire Pledge at the poisonous snow. Hopefully combining it with Ami will be able to get rid of it and stop too much damage...

[ Kyurem itself is pretty much considering its work done here, and it's not in the mood for seconds. It bats at Tendou and his Aegislash as they head towards its jaw, hoping to knock them out of the sky - with the end result of one very sore hand from that Sacred Sword, and a very sore foot from Overheat down below.

Yeah, it's out. Smell you folks later. Kyurem launches itself even further up into the sky, so that the Pledges will only be destroying the poison snow it's left in its wake. As a cleanup method goes, those, combined with the way the group has protected and healed itself, are effective: most of the snow is both cleansed and melted in midair.

But there's a few lumps of the sickly stuff still making it to the ground, seeping in and turning even the paving stones an off-putting color. This district might have avoided being totally levelled, but it will still be quite some time before people will be able to live here without getting sick. ]

[They didn't fail. At least that much can be said.

Though it's a bittersweet triumph, they drove off the dragon, but it can go elsewhere and it's tainted and destroyed much of their home. It starts to make Maka wonder, really, is it worth it to continue welcoming people into Union if all they're going to do is bring extremism and violence?]

Should we follow it? I think it'd be better to be sure no one ended up injured around here first, see how much damage was done.

A storm starts with one drop. [Was that supposed to be poetic? Who knows. Hayato is a little delirious from the poison after being in that thing's mouth. But that's the response he has for Ami at least.]

[He himself had no pledges and he was pretty sure his pokemon didn't either, so their focus was on getting Hayato upright again and helping anyone that might have gotten caught in the wreckage. He's leaning heavily on Nikon when some of that haze starts to clear.]

Someone- they're going to go after everyone else. The other cities. We need to tell them. Caldera and Citidel and... no one's going to be safe.

No, we need to get those still in the area out of here. Our job is to protect right now, not engage.

[Ami was furious, mostly because this was the most disorganized, most Tauros-headed and rushed "protection" she had ever seen! While the main issue as Kyurem, certainly, so much... she sighed and knew she was just as much to blame. She hadn't given any plans of attack but honestly! Everyone just rushed and- she was going to have to go allow herself to sit and stew in the shrine hot spring. This whole neighborhood... completely poisoned!

Her Dragonite circled above them, keeping an eye out for anyone.]

I also have potions and antidotes.

[ Tendou crawls out of a man-shaped hole in the snow, grimacing slightly at the poison slowly running through him. He'll be taking Ami's offer, then. ]

We should get ourselves out too. Grandma said that sickness occurs because of food, but she could hardly have accounted for this.

[ It would be a long time before the poisoned ground clears up, and as tough as this random crew of trainers are, there's hardly any point hanging around to get more poisoned. ]

And while we're out there, we can dig people out from under the wreckage. I'm sure somebody was unlucky enough to get caught.

[ They have succeeded indeed: the dragon no longer seems interested in this area of Union at all. A few people's voices can be heard beneath the wreckage here, calling for help, as can a few Pokémon pleading (to those who can understand Pokémon) for help with their Trainers. And there are a few bodies, of both types, that are lying far too still.

But, while licking their wounds, the group can rest assured that this district of Union, though damaged, will someday be able to rebuild. They bought it that much time. ]
