The Elite Four Strikes

The battle is joined. The gods of Union, while mighty, seem to pale in comparison to the singular dragon of ice. Although they strive mightily to avoid damaging the city, already the mysterious blue dragon has been flung directly into a tower, earning itself a nasty gash over its eye, much to the dismay of the red dragon. While it has rejoined the fight, it is clear that the gods alone are not enough - the people of Union will have to step forward if they are to save their beloved city. The cries of the wounded and terrified citizens echo through the streets as the flames of battle rage. Now is the time - they must be stopped!

[Aaaand it's pissed off now. He's this close to turning tail, if only so he can focus more on getting people out of the area, but he manages to steel himself a little so he doesn't flee. Atik, Saiph, and Sinistra will help get more people to safety.

Geo has to shield his eyes when Yukiko mega-evolves but when he can finally look... it's impressive, and that motivates him to strike again as well, with another telekinetic blast. Maia adds to it, firing off a Confusion of her own in tandem with her trainer.]

[Yosuke shakes from the oppressive force from the dragon, but he knows he's not down and out. He's not helpless, and he's going to do something about it. With no shortage of bravery, he stands his ground until the curry comes flying back at them. Some of it hits him in the face, some of it covers his upper torso, and his wings. He can smell it. It's disgusting, and it takes all of his willpower to not throw up right on the spot.

He wipes his face off, angrily flicking whatever he'd managed to remove off of the back of his hand and onto the ground. He doesn't even get to enjoy how cool Chie looks kicking the dragon in midair like that.]

[His words get cut off by the Mega Evolution taking place, standing in awe once again from another one of Yukiko's evolutions. It helps to relight the fire in him, more determined from the display than ever before. And also a little envious. How many evolutions does she have anyway? he thinks to himself.]

Okay, enough's enough! You're not killing anyone if we have anything to say about it!

[Wind kicks up around him, and he unleashes a Razor Wind at the dragon, while Makie gets in range once more to let loose another X-Scissor.]

Kyurem's Outrage knows no bounds, and it seems to not even care about the fancy light show from Yukiko "Praise the Sun" Amagi. The ice dragon is mad. Whether or not Ramsey's Disable works is hard to say, but judging from the rampage that it continues to rage, its efficacy is negligible, at best. More, Maia's Confusion seems to further throw the beast into a blind fury; nothing here is safe.

Sacred Fire and Blast Burn hit true, and the creature lets out an unearthly roar. Not expecting to feel the burn quite as hard as it did, the great dragon is caught off-guard, volleyed by the countless other attacks thrown at it.

Okay. You know, it was going to let you humans off easy. Maybe even let a few of you survive. But you went and hecked that up, hard. Gaining altitude quickly, it looked as if the beast was going to let them go. It rampaged, threw a tantrum, maybe it was time to find a nice place--possibly a decent-sized hoard--and take a nap.

Then it shifted, exactly the full force of its rage on the rest of the building, and the people below. Ramming full force into the structure, the god sheared it from its foundation, debris and glass exploding from the base. Guan Yu and Yukiko's party's efforts would be in vain, as screams erupted from the scene, people lying there in the streets, writhing in pain--or not moving at all.

Rising again into the sky, it was hard to say whether or not the beast would try a second pass. They would likely lose even more if it did, if they didn't move.

GO, NOW!!

[Yukiko's voice echoes across the battlefield, to each and every human's mind, and the air fills with a Morning Sun, a massive healing wave washing over everyone except the enemy dragon. If there was even a spark of life left in someone below, they'd instantly be restored to nearly full health. Lucky them?

And since it looked like the monster was going to come back, Yukiko dove downward into the street and scooped up Fuuka, covering her as best she could and starting to follow her Pokemon clear.]

Grab everyone you can, if it comes back for another pass, we'll die. Get to cover!

[Gordon and his Pokemon watch the dragon as it turns away, perhaps ready to strike again, but then an entire building is being lifted, and dropped in the street. If he wanted to demoralize them, he succeeded. Gordon's jaw goes slack, and he stares. Even Ramsey, jerk that he is, goes quiet. They building had been partly evacuated, so it could have been a lot worse, but the sight, in his home town, is not one he was fully prepared for.]

[Yukiko's words snap him out of it, and he's nodding in agreement.]

Anyone that can move, get up and get those who can't out. Mike, Mac, Lauren, Manny, Ramsey, we're back on evacuation duty, we need to be gone if he loops back around.

[The Blastoise looks to Gordon, then back to the Dragon, visibly shaking.]

I know, Mike. I know, but we need all hands.

[The group, all of them with hands, anyway, help lift and evacuate everyone they can, prioritizing those still breathing. Gordon and Mike continue to watch the dragon with suspicion, but get their work done.]

Maybe that wasn't such a good idea-!

[His eyes are drawn to the sky in horror after the devastating attack from Kyurem to the building. He knows that they can't just leave the people who have fallen behind, but at the same time, time runs short. He's not good for decisions like this, panic rising in his chest.

He turns to his pokémon, yelling the first thing that comes to mind.]

Grab whoever you can and go! We gotta bail before we're next on the menu--! Tomo, try kicking up a Sand Attack and give us some cover!

[Geo sucks in a breath, horrified, but Yukiko's words bring him back to his senses.

He turns to his Pokémon, lifting forefinger and thumb to his mouth and giving a sharp whistle to get their attention.] Get as many people as you can, we need to get out of here!

... Um, Saiph, could you help give us some cover, too? [The Purrloin complies, scampering over to Tomo to contribute his own Sand Attack. Maia climbs to her usual spot, clinging to Geo's shoulder, as he helps some people to their feet and starts trying to run them to safety.]

[Fuuka had to stare in awe the moment that Yukiko's mega evolution kicked in. While she was busy helping as many people as she could, she couldn't help but be proud of her girlfriend and seeing her attack the dragon before them!

Of course, it didn't take her all that long before she realized what was going to happen. Before she could even react, she suddenly felt herself being scooped up! Without another moment to lose, she quickly called for both of her Pokemon]

We got to hurry! Try and grab as many people as you can before it's too late!

No!

[Chie cries out, eyes wide in shock as she sees the tower collapsing in front of her. Her knees wobbling from fear, she very nearly collapses in place from the sheer sight of so much human suffering in front of her. But suddenly, as her fists clench, she seems to get a sudden burst of strength.]

Noooooooooooo!

[As she lets out another desperate cry, a blast of cold air rushes out from her body. It quickly forms ice crystals in midair, coalescing around her body and forming themselves into a shiny silver suit of armor, now as hard as steel.]

I... I'm sorry. Sorry I couldn't save you in time.

[Looking around at the bodies scattered throughout the area, she briefly bows her head.]

...But I'll save the rest of you! I'll die protecting you all if I have to!

[Planting her feet firmly, Chie spreads her arms wide. A huge wave of energy expands outward from her body in a Wide Guard, protecting the entire area from any additional incoming attacks. That should provide the cover she needs to get as many people to safety as possible.]

The Sand Attacks act as proper enough cover for the rest of the team to help evacuate anyone who could move or be moved. Yukiko's Morning Sun helped some, but there were many here beyond saving, and pained moans and groans continued to hang heavily in the air.

Fate would be kind to them this day, as Kyurem decided to take its temper tantrum further into the city. No one else would have to die--not here, at least.

[With the dragon leaving the area, any anger at the god's actions is compartmentalized. Rusty returns, those too injured to walk out of there laid across the Arcanine's back, where a strong grip on the fire-type's thick neck fur is enough to keep them on board. Rex does what they can, but lacks the size to be a mobile stretcher. Gordon acts as support for men half his age, hobbling past the motionless bodies of those not born until after he was already an adult.]
