The Elite Four Strikes

The battle is joined. The gods of Union, while mighty, seem to pale in comparison to the singular dragon of ice. Although they strive mightily to avoid damaging the city, already the mysterious blue dragon has been flung directly into a tower, earning itself a nasty gash over its eye, much to the dismay of the red dragon. While it has rejoined the fight, it is clear that the gods alone are not enough - the people of Union will have to step forward if they are to save their beloved city. The cries of the wounded and terrified citizens echo through the streets as the flames of battle rage. Now is the time - they must be stopped!

[ Thanks to its use of Hyper Beam, Kyurem needs a moment to recharge itself. As a result, everybody's attacks hit, Kyurem arching its neck to try and keep its head clear of the barrage - or maybe so its howls of rage will look more dramatic, who knows. If there's a special attack anyone has been keeping in reserve, now's the time to use it.

Maybe.

That Light Screen holds up well against the Hyper Beam to begin with, but can't quite cover the whole blast; one side of the Habitat gets a giant hole punched in it. Terrified Flying- and Bug-types begin streaming out - those who were lucky enough to have been out of the Hyper Beam's range - and the floors above creak.

The force of the attack flings Himiko and Toyo themselves towards the tower; they'll hit a roof, hard, on their way there. That maneuver was very, very brave, but also very hard on those who executed it. ]

[The girls aren't dead - Rise's sure of it - but they're also not going to be well enough to just pop back into the fight. She casts a psychic instruction out and hopes they can hear it over there.]

...thank you, girls. Now please stay down and heal up if you can. Backup should be here...now.

[With that, the bright light of a false, or at least magical, dawn comes as Inari, Rise's Ninetales, finally arrives on the scene, her Drought ability battling Kyurem's rain dance to clear up the precipitation and enhance Fire-type moves.]

Everyone! If you've got Fire, use it now!

[Inari trills and builds up a huge breath to blow a Fire Blast at Kyurem. Rise follows it up by physically chucking a Hex charm at him that she's had in her pocket for like a year and a half, hoping to capitalize on the potential burn.]

Morgiana winced as her chains whipped wildly through the air after they snapped. She let them dissolve before they could set anything on fire, but making a fire that intense left her feeling strange. Like something had come loose inside her.

Worry about that later.

She ran after Kyurem as it attacked the habitat and jumped, intending to come down on the base of the dragon's neck with a flying kick. She didn't notice the tiny wings of flame that had just sprouted out of her ankles, but she DID notice that she was moving through the air faster than she should have been. The sudden acceleration ruined the moment. She reached her target before she had properly lined up her kick and so instead of managing a textbook perfect rider kick she kind of awkwardly slammed into her target with her knee.

[Kyosuke launches a Claymore mine at Reshiram's face in one fluid motion before drawing back his Stake and slamming it into Reshiram and unloading every shell he has into the dragon god, each blast slamming the massive steel stake into it]

This is our...

Love love attack!

[ She sounds really happy about that, as energy gathers around the barrel of her gun before releasing one final, huge Psychic-type beam.

Because size always matters. And how you use it, of course.

Hopefully Kyosuke is able to ram it into her laser. ]

[It was recharging... now!]

Solo, go!

[The Houndoom charged, shooting out another Flamethrower attack.

Rotom stuck it out above and fired off another Electro Ball.]

[ They're so tiny. How are they hurting it?

Kyurem bellows as each attack hits, the temperature in the area seeming to drop just by its mere displeased presence - but that doesn't stop those Fire attacks from being even more effective than usual. It begins flapping its wings, whipping its tail - anything to get the gnats away from it.

This particular area of the city may be too much of a bother to trash, but it'd like to express its Outrage first. Hopefully no one was too attached to this shopping district, because the giant, Godly temper tantrum is in grave danger of levelling it. ]

[Watching Kyurem's destructive tantrum, something breaks down inside Rise. A wall, somewhere, that had been keeping her emotions in check. Something in place inside herself to prevent her emotions from cascading out of her in a psychic wave. It's gone now, but those feelings aren't pouring out. Instead, they've solidified into an icy crystal in her mind's eye, solidified power that's directed inward, rather than outward.]

"No. Not even as a parting shot. You don't get to break my city!"

[Rise reaches out her arms and evolves, long hair turning from a cascade into a halo, clothes somehow transforming into a white flowing dress, and four extra illusory arms appearing as magenta psychic light beneath her own. When she opens her eyes, they're glowing in the same shade.]

Inari. Cover everyone's mind, okay?

[Rather boggled, the Ninetails bobs her head and casts Safeguard on all her allies.]

[Rise, meanwhile...starts dancing, almost floating in the air as psychically-lifted debris orbits around her. The motion is impossible to miss and completely maddening - the rare Teeter Dance, meant to turn Kyurem's rage back in on itself. It's a long shot, and that rage would have left it confused anyway, but if she can interrupt his tantrum...]

Morgiana shot straight up, but it was more than just a jump. The tiny wings that had not been there a moment ago grew an aura of flame that formed a pair of giant wings, keeping her in the air. This was such a strange sensation, but she didn't have time to marvel over it. After a few experimental flaps, she went back down with a flaming Elbow Drop on the dragon's wing. She didn't realize until later that she was caught up in the moment so much that she was screaming the whole way down.

[Duo knew getting too close would be dangerous, so he kept his team to the distance attacks.

Rotom used Thunder Shock in the hopes that the electric attack would paralyze the dragon-god out of it's Outrage.

Duskull fired off a Shadow Ball now that it was back up in the air.

Duo's ground team, Mightyena, Houndoom, and Absol came back to him.]

[There's a clatter of shell casings as Kyosuke empties his stake and reloads it before leaping at the Dragon and applying the new rounds to its raging form, aiming for an arm to knock it off balance]

[ Kyurem is so mad right now. So mad. The Fairies are getting stronger and the humans keep spewing fire at it and, even though that Electric attack didn't end up Paralyzing it, it's the idea of the thing -

It wavers as Kyosuke knocks it to one side, then gnashes its teeth. That dancing figure is giving it such a headache.

Roaring, Kyurem takes off, hovering unevenly after Morgiana's hit to its wing. It spits Hail at each of its assailants in turn and then drops some more on a grocery store for good measure. Starve, humans. Those twin dragons have regrouped and are circling it again, and it would rather pick on something closer to its own size right now.

So it searches the air for their shadows. Which way...? ]

We're not done with you yet!

Someone flying come pick me up. I want to give it a piece of my expanded consciousness.

[Inari overrides the Hail as best she can with Morning Sun, then fires off a Will-O-Wisp to make sure the god goes into any further fights with his mysterious peers at a disadvantage.]

Because she could totally fly now! How exciting! Morgiana swooped down and landed next to Rise. She muttered "Hold on tight.", scooped her up in a bridal carry and took off after Kyurem before he could get away.

It's leaving?

[No, that wasn't right. Was it going after the other gods that were helping them? Duo looked around, trying to spot them.

As he did that, Duskull pulled off a Shadow Sneak and Rotom did another Electro Ball. At this point, they were the ones that could really keep up now that it was flying. Pidove tagged along behind them, while the rest of Duo's party stayed with him, running along the ground, trying to keep up.]

[Kyosuke leaps up and follows through with another Stake attack, this time launching himself right at the dragon's throat while it's distracted]

[ There. There's a shadow behind that cloud - or is it over there - but also, below it -

Fighting back its own Confusion, Kyurem's head snaps around in time to see Kyosuke, Rise, Morgiana, and Duo's Pokémon headed for it. It blows a freezing cold Glaciate at them with every expectation of knocking them off-course, which also has the pleasant side effect of breaking a few windows back down in the city. Watch out below, Duo. ]

[Rise can't do anything directly to counter the wind, especially not in this weirdly familiar position, but she does focus on Kyurem, locking onto him with a Miracle Eye to keep the rest of the group from drifting off course.]

Morgiana, when we get close to him, just drop me on his head and back up.

Before you ask, I'm serious.

Duck!

[Duo instructed his ground team to take cover. The Absol cheerfully reminded him that this was all foreseen, and he shushed her as they waited out the glassy rain.

The Duskull, Pidove, and Rotom struggled to keep up after the Glaciate, but Rise's Miracle Eye helped a little. In retaliation, Duskull returned a Confuse Ray as Pidove pulled off an Arial Ace.

When the glass stopped falling, Duo ignored his own situation to give a quick check of his ground team before stepping out to see how the others were faring. He heard Rise's statement about backing up, so he gave a sharp whistle with his fingers to get his team's attention and get them come back before she pulled off whatever she was planning on doing.]

[As the ice strikes, Kyosuke takes it head on]

When there's a barrier in my way, I'll just pierce through it!

[the flames on his back go into overdrive, blazing a brilliant blue as he pushes through the freezing ice, using the blessing as well as his own superb resistance to ice to continue launching himself right at Kyurem's throat, stake-first.]

Hey, don't leave me out! Although I guess I don't mind getting ignored right now~

[ Thankfully, the rest of her party made for a wonderful distraction. Managing to find a rooftop that hadn't been completely blown off by the beast, Excellen laid there, her launcher rested on its mount. Aiming at the icy beast, she slowly pulls her finger back on the trigger. ]

Okay Taddy, you're on! Go for the jugular!

[ The Golurk, who had been biding its time for much of the battle, suddenly flew out from behind a bit of rubble, launching itself alongside Kyosuke with a Focus Punch aimed at the dragon's neck. Pulling the trigger back on her launcher, Excellen shot three explosive, Normal-type bullets at Kyurem's wings. Time to get those clipped, friend. ]

BLAM!

This is a terrible idea!

But she didn't really know what kind of powers Rise had. Clearly the girl knew something she didn't. Morgiana decided to trust her, and also to position herself somewhere where she could catch Rise when she felt off.

She made herself keep her eyes open in the face of the freezing wind and forced her way upstream, as it were, until she could catch up with Kyurem and deposit her passenger on its back, as requested. Then she fell back, ready to catch Rise. Hopefully she'd have time to do whatever it was she intended to before falling.

Morgiana did not seriously consider that Rise would actually be able to hold on, but she'd been wrong before.

[Rise clings onto Kyurem's back as best she can, mostly through raw adrenaline and the surge of emotion caused by her Mega Evolution.]

Dragon god. I want to talk to you, but that's not gonna happen until you calm down. Leave now, or you are really not gonna like what happens next.

[ Kyurem hears that human's voice in its head, but it also doesn't really like what's happening now. First it's getting stabbed and pelted, then it's being ridden - ridden - and lectured -

Thrashing about in midair, it tries to dislodge Rise from its head and Kyosuke's blade from its neck. The hits to its wings have it faltering, but when it dips, and threatens to fall from the sky, it also twirls in midair to try and get the humans off of its body. These bugs itch! And if that fails...

Well, if it's going to fall from the sky, it'll make sure to aim for the already-damaged Habitat. Two options, humans: get off of it, or discover what happens when it plows into your Pokémon prison.

It isn't considering that there might be a third option. ]

[Duo ran forward with his team.]

Is everyone out of the Habitat, yet? Get clear of it in case it hits!

[Rotom fired off another Thunder Shock, still waiting for that Paralyzing to happen.

With Kyurem flying away, Duskull decided to try a Payback.]
