The Situation in Glacier
The rescuers have been allowed a night's rest following their arrival on the outskirts of Glacier. Though there is ample evidence of their enemy's presence in the form of burning buildings and ruined settlements, the creature itself appears to have wandered off briefly to wreak havoc in a different corner of the frozen tundra. Or perhaps it was taking a brief siesta following so much exertion - murder and destruction was tiring work. Whatever the case, it seems to be an opportune time to descend into the city and assist those remaining there.
If they are brave, they might even try to take back the city itself. But the primary goal, of course, is to save as many people as possible before the great dragon returned.
The few people of Glacier who had guided them this far point out the less-traveled paths by which it may be possible to enter the city unnoticed. It is determined that they will fan out in groups, both in search of survivors and in search of the companions of the dragon who had so effectively laid waste to the city. Perhaps they might still gain the upper hand.
((You may respond to your threads now! Not all the groups will have immediate mod starters going up, so feel free to initiate threading; a mod will step in as soon as possible. As usual, we will be tagging on a 24-hour basis whether or not all group members have tagged in.
When responding, please list the Pokemon your character is bringing with them.
While the final portion of this event will go up on Sunday, October 4th, please also feel free to continue tagging this portion of the log as these threads will almost certainly not be finished yet.))

['People', perhaps, is a bit optimistic,. As Pao-Lin and Chie lift up into the air, they'll find themselves ascending into slightly thicker smoke. It's still possible to see, however, and down below, Chie will spot a small figure in a corner pressed up against a part of the warehouse wall with a few jagged holes - only her upper body is visible as the rest appears to be trapped by a fallen beam. A moment later, a great crash marks the collapse of the roof in the spot where Chie had previously stood. It's probably good that she didn't choose to bust through the crate maze.
The figure below gazes upwards for a moment and stares as if not quite believing what they're seeing -- then screams loudly once more as another section of the roof caves in.
It is definitely a woman's voice.]
[Fourth Warehouse (the others)]
[It will take only a moment for Peter to bust open the crate in question. How could anyone have possibly gotten inside there? The answer, however, is clear, when the top is finally pried off - it's a nest of four Swinub, huddled up together in terror. There is a noticeable crack in the bottom of the crate where they might have sneaked inside, but the opening had become inaccessible when the crate had fallen over.
The tiny piglets squeal and cry as the lid comes off.
Yosuke, on the other hand, will be met with a much grimmer sight. There are four people obviously unconscious on the floor, half-buried in some of the fallen shelving.
If he can reach them, though, he will find that only two are still capable of being saved at this point - a young girl clinging to the body of her mother and a large man who blearily stirs when he is prodded.]

[Peter hurls the top of the crate aside and reaches down inside to scoop up the little piglets. If any of them get particularly wriggly, Hestia will help, catching hold of them.]
Guys, get them out!
[With a nod, the two Pokemon start on out, ready to get the babies to safety, letting Yukiko's attention focuses more on Yosuke.]
Did you find anyone?
no subject
Of course, by now, Fuuka could obviously sense who they were and just mumbled to herself. The problem was that she didn't want to be the one to tell him that some of them were dead.]
no subject
Hold on. You're both safe. We're here to help. We will heal your wounds, too.
[She's helping the little girl, first. And... trying to turn off the part of her head that wants to panic at seeing a dead parent.]
no subject
He checks the one- they're dead too- before moving to the man. He stirs, thankfully, and Yosuke can only manage to choke out calling for his friends.]
Yukiko... [His voice sounds strangled, like he's just trying to keep it together between unmitigated anger and empathy of the lost.] ...This guy needs your help. I can't get this thing off of him...
no subject
Get ready to move the shelves. I'll...I'll fix this.
[And she presses her hands against the man's chest, a golden light flowing from her into him as she uses her most powerful heal. If he's alive, it'll fan the flames of health in him. This was what her power really was, healing. The stuff of life. He'll live, provided they can get the shelving off.
And once that's done, he turns to the other two, the bodies. And she does the same thing, reaching deep inside her, drawing out every possible ounce of healing energy she can, tapping the well as deep as will go. If they're alive...or even recently dead? Then this may just jolt them back to life. She's done it before, healing a flat-lined Pokemon, and she hopes she's in time.]

All she could do was just comfort the poor girl as Yosuke and Yukiko were trying their best to help the others. Although the girl's pleas for her mother didn't help. As hard as Fuuka tried, she was struggling not to cry. Just knowing that this girl had lost her mother was hard enough much less the loss of life.
She wanted to ask Yukiko if she could revive them but...does she want to know the answer?]

[The piggies are freed and though they squirm a bit, Peter, Hestia, Espurr, and Aerodactyl will be able to escape with them in short order.
Having made their way outside, the group of Pokemon may eventually spot some approaching figures in the distance -- too far to see clearly through the residual smoke.
Back in the warehouse, Yukiko's efforts to revive the dead are unfortunately fruitless; even if the heart should resume beating, the cessation of the internal organs and lack of oxygen to the brain is too much to restore. The unknown man, however, revives quickly, coughing and wheezing as his respiratory systems are kicked back into gear. He tries to speak, but the raspy nature of his voice makes it clear that he'll need further treatment to clear up the damage to his lungs.]
You --
[That's all that's clear before he descends once more into wheezing.
In Mami's arms, the girl falls silent after weakly crying for her family a few times, burying her head against Mami's chest. How it is that she's managed to make it this far in a healthy state is unclear, though Yosuke may note as he clears the tangled mess of shelving that it had gashed a small hole in the rear. It seems she was small enough to fit through the gaps in the metal to press up against the outside for cleaner air.]
Second Warehouse
It's okay! We're here to help! Come with me, I'll get you out of here! We don't have much time before the building collapses!
no subject
[It takes Mami a lot of willpower to not start crying. Pulling a young girl from something like this reminds her too much of Walpurgis; of how her parents died. Of how they found her, half-dead and injured. She hugs her a little tighter, before she looks at the man.]
Is he...?
no subject
She staggers to her feet and croaks out hoarsely to call in Teddie, her Beartic. The Pokemon appears in a flash, and immediately takes note of what's going on...]
Get the shelves. Then this man. We've got to get him out of here.
[And the big bear grabs up the shelving, tossing it aside like it was cardboard and gently scoops up the man.]
[Meanwhile, outside? Snor-Lord is pretty much leaving the Swinub piglets in the hands of the other pokemon. Tugging on his jacket, he steps up to interpose himself between the distant strangers, totally not trusting them one bit and wanting to put his bulk in the way. Plus, it's a chance to show off his brave he is for the ladies...]
no subject
What about the bodies...are we really gunna just leave them in here...?
[There were so many dead already, outside of this warehouse. But something in him can't bear to leave them here, but it might be possible they'd be discovered later in the clean-up; provided that a clean-up would happen.]
This is just so wrong...
[He grimaces again, moving out from behind the shelving, at least.]
no subject
[As Chie flies closer, the figure on the ground reaches up a hand as if hoping that will somehow pull her free.]
I can't move...! My legs --
[Her lower body is covered by debris.]
[Fourth Warehouse]
[They have searched every part of the building that they can. Above them, there is an ominous creaking sound - it is time to decide whether or not to take the bodies with them and depart. And quickly.
The man being carried by the Beartic has revived enough to choke out a whispered, 'Thank you' before he falls back, still weakened from his ordeal. The girl heeds Mami's words and refrains from making further noise as she closes her eyes. Perhaps if she goes to sleep, it will all be a nightmare when she awakens.
Outside, Snor-Lord will find that the approaching figures appear to be cautious, peering through the smoke towards the warehouse. What is that thing? A giant bear? They appear to be wearing heavy fur clothing - there are four of them in total, all adult men.]
Who goes there?
Second warehouse
Savior above...
[That poor girl.]
[Just establishing her presence on the scene for the moment. Actual actions next time its her tag.]
Second warehouse
[Jumping down from her hovering Garchomp, Chie starts to try to move some of the collapsed debris around so the girl can get free. She's trying to work as quickly as she can, not knowing how much longer the building will stand.]
no subject
We come from Citadel and other cities. We are here to help. You're from here?
no subject
Yosuke. We...we need to get out of here. And fast. Get one. I'll get the other, and we'll do something about them.
[So, she grabs the lighter of the two, the only one she can carry, and hauls it outside. Teddie follows, setting the man down off to one side.
In the meantime, Snor-Lord continues to glower at the strangers, puffing his chest out in a show that no, he ain't scared.]
no subject
[Yosuke nods, head snapping in the direction of the creaking that seems to threaten their lives. He grabs the other body, and drags it across the floor towards the entrance, trying not to think on the fact that they were dead. He'll drag it clear out of the building, to lay it on the cold ground outside and look away. Specifically, at Mami- and he sees that she's trying to talk to someone. His ears perk up and his gaze is now on the attention of the approaching strangers.]
no subject
[The young woman is beginning to hyperventilate, and her panic probably doesn't help matters much.]
Please -- please -- they're all dead...! I -- I'm going to die...! I'm going to die!
[It's not terribly coherent, but if they ignore it and focus on the task on hand, Chie and Morgiana will have the strength between them to free her. Her legs are crushed, though - certainly at least one is broken.]
[Fourth Warehouse]
Citadel...?
[They exchange a baffled glance before one of them seems to have a realization.]
Ah - the ones who fled. So they found refuge after all. You --
[And then he seems to see what Mami is carrying for the first time, and he gives an audible gasp, stepping forward.]
But that's Erika's girl! Where --
[The remainder of his questions are answered as first Beartic files out with the now fully conscious man, then Yukiko and Yosuke emerge dragging the bodies. Behind them, the warehouse gives one final shudder before the roof finally gives way, plunging down with an enormous crash. To their credit, the natives of Glacier leap forward and help pull the others from the site in hopes of avoiding any launched debris.]
Gods...
no subject
Would it have been smarter to make sure that the debris was all that was stopping her from bleeding to death? Probably, but sometimes you just act before you think all the dangers through. Anyways, maybe that would keep her from panicking quite so much.]
no subject
[She frowns, then shakes her head.]
Her mother didn't... I'm sorry.
no subject
Come on, let's get you out of here.
[Now that she's free of the debris, Chie waves Pao Lin down so she and Morgiana can help the girl onto the Garchomp's back. And then it's time to mount up and ride this rocket dragon out of here.]
no subject
I think...when we get back, we should make a proper burial of sorts for everyone here. It seems like it's the least we can do for them.
no subject
She doesn't exactly have much to say, frankly. What do you say after that? Whatever damage is done, she fully intends to undo, and if people need help and healing? Well...they're going to get it.]
no subject
Yeah...there wasn't anything we could do for these two. Yukiko here tried her best, but...
[He hangs his head. He's sorry for their deaths, they did all they could.]
Converge!
