The Situation in Glacier

The rescuers have been allowed a night's rest following their arrival on the outskirts of Glacier. Though there is ample evidence of their enemy's presence in the form of burning buildings and ruined settlements, the creature itself appears to have wandered off briefly to wreak havoc in a different corner of the frozen tundra. Or perhaps it was taking a brief siesta following so much exertion - murder and destruction was tiring work. Whatever the case, it seems to be an opportune time to descend into the city and assist those remaining there.

If they are brave, they might even try to take back the city itself. But the primary goal, of course, is to save as many people as possible before the great dragon returned.

The few people of Glacier who had guided them this far point out the less-traveled paths by which it may be possible to enter the city unnoticed. It is determined that they will fan out in groups, both in search of survivors and in search of the companions of the dragon who had so effectively laid waste to the city. Perhaps they might still gain the upper hand.

[If that's the case, Chie is ready - calling Tung-Pi, her Floette, out, she instructs the little fairy to make a Wish for the girl's recovery. It's probably not enough to fix a broken leg, but should be sufficient for helping get her out of there without breaking anything else or having her bleed out on them.]

Come on, let's get you out of here.

[Now that she's free of the debris, Chie waves Pao Lin down so she and Morgiana can help the girl onto the Garchomp's back. And then it's time to mount up and ride this rocket dragon out of here.]

[As Fuuka saw the warehouse's roof fall, the girl just mumbled to herself. While she didn't say anything, just smiled at the young girl and hoped that she would make a recovery as well.]

I think...when we get back, we should make a proper burial of sorts for everyone here. It seems like it's the least we can do for them.

[Yukiko remains silent through all of this, just...standing near the back and radiating a soft light. The sky over Glacier lights up briefly with her Sunny Day and almost unconsciously a Morning Sun washes over everyone in the area.

She doesn't exactly have much to say, frankly. What do you say after that? Whatever damage is done, she fully intends to undo, and if people need help and healing? Well...they're going to get it.]

[Yosuke jumps at the building collapsing in on itself with a little yelp, staring backwards into it and thanking whoever likes him enough up there that they all got out safely. He turns back towards the men, looking solemn as he can muster after jumping like that.]

Yeah...there wasn't anything we could do for these two. Yukiko here tried her best, but...

[He hangs his head. He's sorry for their deaths, they did all they could.]

[The man looks devastated as he gazes upon the body of the dead, and the others bow their heads.]

We've lost so many already. When we heard the dragon had gone, we thought...

[He shakes his head and stands slowly, reaching for the girl. She continues to cling to Mami.]

Thank you, strangers. I wish there were something we could offer you, but...

[Well. He glances out towards the city, marked by devastation and ruin. During this lull, Chie, Morgiana, and the final rescued victim burst out of the second warehouse triumphantly as it, too, begins to crumble. The wheezing man on the ground chokes out a cry -- ]

[This is answered in turn by the woman, who nearly unbalances the Garchomp as she leans out.]
