The Situation in Glacier
The rescuers have been allowed a night's rest following their arrival on the outskirts of Glacier. Though there is ample evidence of their enemy's presence in the form of burning buildings and ruined settlements, the creature itself appears to have wandered off briefly to wreak havoc in a different corner of the frozen tundra. Or perhaps it was taking a brief siesta following so much exertion - murder and destruction was tiring work. Whatever the case, it seems to be an opportune time to descend into the city and assist those remaining there.
If they are brave, they might even try to take back the city itself. But the primary goal, of course, is to save as many people as possible before the great dragon returned.
The few people of Glacier who had guided them this far point out the less-traveled paths by which it may be possible to enter the city unnoticed. It is determined that they will fan out in groups, both in search of survivors and in search of the companions of the dragon who had so effectively laid waste to the city. Perhaps they might still gain the upper hand.
((You may respond to your threads now! Not all the groups will have immediate mod starters going up, so feel free to initiate threading; a mod will step in as soon as possible. As usual, we will be tagging on a 24-hour basis whether or not all group members have tagged in.
When responding, please list the Pokemon your character is bringing with them.
While the final portion of this event will go up on Sunday, October 4th, please also feel free to continue tagging this portion of the log as these threads will almost certainly not be finished yet.))

[Confidently, Yuuna strides towards the granery, totally unconcerned with typing. Her buff-jacket's Enhancement means less to worry about from fire (Water/Ground type armor), and it's not like she plans on rushing in alone.
The fighting has more or less grabbed Uzushio's attention now, and his mirth dies. There's people in trouble, and he hates bullies. So, without any prompting at all, he stands back and sucks in a breath for his opening salvo. A Hydropump flies forward like an artillery shell, aimed for the largest of the Fire type Pokemon at the enemy's disposal.
And the woman herself starts to draw in ambient energy, her body's newfound powers converting it into electrical energy. A Charge builds up in her, boosting her special defense and giving her more power to draw on later.]

Drippy, help us!
[With the push of a button and a flash of light, Merrill summons her Goodra to the battle. Never one to engage in direct combat if it can help it, the gentle giant instead opts to perform a Rain Dance, which should take a bit of the bite out of those Fire-type attacks. Merrill herself begins weaving a Fairy-type spell, tattoos glowing purple and green orbs of energy orbiting her body as she draws in power. And within moments she releases Wrath of the Elvhen, summoning tendrils of energy to whip toward the attacking Pokemon.]

[Waver didn't even bother with finishing his complaint about how their words really had hexed the situation, and set to work immediately casting a Reflect around their small party to protect them from retaliation. Even with any typing advantages or special items that they wore, fire still hurt-- and any protetion was well worth it.
Back-up like this was the best that he personally could do. Inexperienced as he was, fighting was still something that unnerved him...but he had come of his own accord, knowing what was to be expected out in the wilds. He didn't like it, but he cared even less about watching other people get hurt.
He was just fortunate he had back up, in the form of the proactive Seismitoad. Atlas, fully aware of the Mageling's habits and sentiments, took off toward the fray as well. He echoed the Politoed's Hydropump with one of his own, intent on taking out the worst of the enemies.]
/sneaks in here once more since Feliks didn't really DO anything in his last tag
[Feliks gestured Huzar towards the men and their Pokemon, and the Dragonair took flight towards them, finding the nearest one who was actively attacking and going to interrupt them with an Aqua Tail. Feliks, lacking long-ranged attacks that weren't Fire-type, moved in as well, trying to get close enough to land a punch before getting noticed in all the chaos.]

[Irritated that she didn't bring any of her powerhouse Water-types for fear of them freezing to crystal up here, Isabela quietly warps Amaura back to her new home, exchanging her for Tyrantrum.]
Go be a distraction. There's a good boy.
[Tyrantrum bellows and stomps the ground, trying to catch the fire-users in an Earthquake as he charges into the fray.]
[Isabela herself, in spite of Felix's words, does try to sneak about, using the distraction of the Unionites' massed attacks as cover as she attempts to get close to the fire guys and pick out anyone who seemed to be giving orders.]
RNG: Magnitude 8
[The Hydropumps and Aqua Ring attacks take the troops by surprise! Who said you could bring water to a fire fight?! Didn't they know anything about proper battle etiquette? Managing to hit some of the larger, slower Fire-types in their arsenal, the smaller, faster ones manage to dodge out of the way with minimal splash damage.]
"What the hell was that?!"
"They had reinforcements?!"
"Never mind, turn on them boys!"
[Through the mayhem, the Fire-type soldiers hardly seem to notice Isabela sneak away, focused more on the rest of the group--and the Tyrantrum bowling over the second stringers.]
"Somebody call in the air units! Rotoms, go!"
"On it!"
[A soldier bringing his hand to his ear, it would appear that they had something else up their sleeve. Just how long it would take to see what that might be was hard to say, but judging from the sudden, gut-wrenching roar from nearby, and the sound of wings flapping, whatever their "air units" happened to be would be on them, quickly.
In the meantime, their backline, a number of strange looking Rotoms begin to shake, flames erupting from their door-like mouths in a combined Overheat attack, directed at the group.]
no subject
This time, the Politoed turns his attention to the Rotoms, spraying them with a much more accurate Water Pulse!
And the humans? Well, Haruka had been right about one thing, they usually went down faster than people. So, tapping the Warp Band she called out Susume, and the big Dragonite joined in the fun by spraying an Aqua Tail at the enemy group.
Saving the charge for...whatever the air units are, Yuuna guesses.]
LATE BUT Fai has a Floette, Houndoom, Smoochum and Castform
He winces when he feels the telltale prickle of electricity in the air, and even as the Rotoms are starting to mount their attack, he and Babycakes are moving in perfect synchronization. She casts a Misty Terrain around them even as Fai tosses up a Barrier just inside Waver's Reflect. He'll leave the outright attacks to the others for now, not wanting to quite literally draw enemy fire to him.]
Sorry about that!
[Feliks gets hit with the Overheat attack, but it hardly seems to damage him, between the defensive powers in play and his own strength against Fire-type attacks. His Dragonair seems much more concerned about it than he does, lashing out against the nearest Rotom with another Aqua Tail attack (and some choice words about leaving her mom alone.)]
[In the meantime, Feliks is going to do what Feliks does best: be a big, mouthy, sparkly distraction. He uses
SparklepunchPlay Rough on whoever he can get close enough to -- ideally someone who was shouting orders a moment ago, but if they're too hard to reach, he'll go for any human nearby.]no subject
In uthenera na revas!
[The tendrils Merrill had been using to attack before turn dark and wispy, lashing out toward the Rotoms in a Dark-type Wounds of the Past attack, designed both to deal damage and decrease their defense. Goodra, playing backup, summons a wave of Muddy Water to follow. Maybe he'd get lucky and decrease their accuracy at the same time.]

[After waiting for the wave of heat damage to pass by, Isabela sneaks over near the enemy soldiers. Seeing that one used a radio to call those other Pokémon in, she winds herself up, dashes out, and attempts to stab him with her Dark-type Enhanced weapon and grab his communicator at the same time.]
no subject
Are those Rotoms? [he squeaked, not even certain if he was reading the situation correctly in the chaos. It was all too much to process.
Cooler temperaments prevailed for the Seismitoad-- literally. Re-angling his trajectory, he launched off another volley of Hydropump at the offending Rotoms. Hopefully that would end the debacle quickly.]
no subject
While Isabela manages to get a jump on the person with the communicator, they manage to at least get part of their message out before gurgling and collapsing. She'll be met with a few flaming swords, the surrounding soldiers aiming to cut the woman down.
The damage appears to have already been done, especially given the dark line dotting the skies. Charizard Xes, at least half a dozen of them. They move quickly, the air suddenly becoming quite warm as a line of Inferno attacks blast forward. ]
no subject
[Tyrantrum does his thing to get another layer of Stealth Rock in place to tear up the incoming flyers while Isabela uses her experience in boarding actions to parry the incoming swords en masse and beat a hasty retreat back to allied lines before she gets surrounded. She's not letting go of the radio, though, that could come in handy.]
no subject
Fryderyk? You know what to do.
[The Altaria sings out a reply to him, rising higher into the sky to avoid the Inferno attacks and darting in closer to the advancing line of Pokemon. When he's in range, he lets loose with a powerful Moonblast towards the nearest one. Huzar the Dragonair, not one to stand around waiting for orders, lashes out with a Thunder Wave at another, sort of vaguely hoping to paralyze its wings and get it out of the sky. She takes a hit from Inferno in the process that she doesn't seem too happy about it, but ultimately it isn't enough to slow her down too much just yet.]
no subject
[Yuuna's whole body sways for an instant, her form a blur of motion as she leaps clear, several yards to one side of the attacks, and onto the Salamence she'd had in reserve. Detect can't save her for long, but it's a blessing she's happy to have.
And if they want to play it this way, then she'll play it this way.]
Kuina, Susume, let's go!
[The two Dragon-types whip into the air like twin comets. The Dragonite barrels into one of the Charizard's with a Dragon Rush and the Salamence does a flyby, ripping at another Charizard's wings and face with a Dragon Claw.]
no subject
Drippy... ma serannas.
[Now able to counterattack, Merrill once again switches tactics, this time launching a Fairy-type Arlathan's Grace attack toward the encroaching Charizard army.]
(ooc: Arlathan's Grace is an area of effect Fairy type attack. Damage lasts for as long as Merrill is able to sustain it. Power should only be around 60 or so - comparable to something like Thunderbolt - but Merrill heals 1/4 of the damage she deals.)
no subject
--Atlas, being the braver soul, shoved the terrified Mageling out of the way of the attack.]
Atlas? That--
[The Seismitoad nudged him none too gently and cast the human a stern look-- as if to tell Waver to stop freaking out. Drawing in a breath, Waver shook his head and pulled himself back to his feet.]
Right.... Maybe I should try....
[Centering his focus, he fired off a Moonblast of his own at the onslaught of Charizards-- and prayed to whatever gods were listening that the spell would work.]
no subject
But maybe- Focusing, he raises a glowing, dome shaped shield around the group and then pushes it out as far as he can. It's not entirely solid, more like a strangely substantial shock wave, and the goal is mainly to try to break up the line of Charizards a bit, cause a moment of confusion that the others can make use of.
Mr Sunshine, on the other hand, has sprinted closer to the human handlers on his own volition. With a snarl, he sends out a cloud of Smog over part of the group, careful to try to keep it away from Pink Thing's Mate - aka Feliks - as much as possible.]
no subject
Fai's Misty Terrain and the numerous shields seem to have kept some of the damage at bay, but those who didn't dodge--pokemon and humans alike--will be hit with by the Inferno attack. Through their combined efforts, they manage to take out three of the six Charizard Xes in quick succession, wounding a few others with the successive Moonblast attacks. ]
"Shit!"
"Fall back! Fall back!"
[ The Rotom back line unleashing another Overheat to put some distance between them, the troops begin their hasty retreat. It seems that they have beat them back--for now. ]
no subject
[Isabela can't do much to mitigate the Thunder Wave, getting stuck in the middle of the Rotom lines on her way out. Thankfully, her Tyrantrum notices her distress and charges in, taking the brunt of the Overheat barrage and Crunching any Rotom that's too close to his captain.]

Growling in anger, she calls back the two dragons...and looks around, starting to take stock of the situation. They'd beaten away the attackers, and that meant there were people needing to be tended to. So, out comes her medical kit. She hands a bag of Super-Potions over to Uzushio, and the Politoed hops along to distribute them to trainers and Pokemon.
Walking on over to Bela, she pulls out a Paralyze heal and sprays that on too, before liberally applying Burn Heal to her own hands.]
Well! That was exciting. Anyone too hurt to use a potion? and is there anyone in need of medical attention? Sound off!
no subject
I'm good! Fryderyk and I could probably use a potion or two, but we're ok. Fai?
[Not that he's not worried about everyone else, too, but he has priorities. Fai's still recovering from his time in the wilderness.]
no subject
Patting his loyal friend on the arm, Waver all but slumped as he heaved a sigh of relief.]
....I think we're fine here, [He called, pulling his singed hat off and throwing it down in the snow. The lanky little ponyta-tail he had his hair tied into flopped freely-- but his hair was still mercifully out of his face.] I know I've got a few potions somewhere around here....
