Descent into Darkness
As the characters arrive, they will find what appears to be a rather deep cavern. Upon entering, the caverns are quite narrow, with twists and turns everywhere and different tunnels that all seem to be interconnected. As characters travel deeper within the caverns, reality around them will start to warp, they will start to see and hear things that aren’t necessarily there - images of old enemies, past failures, voices of condemnation, visions that strike at the soul and core of the characters. Once this begins, it will only increase in power and volume, demanding it be confronted, lest they be trapped within these caves forever.
[OOC: This event will run for a week. All characters who enter the caves will be subject to some of their deepest fears, darkest demons, and most abject failures. To overcome them, characters must help each other out, finding their purpose through strength of character and resolve to move forward. In general, these visions should require characters to come to grips with themselves. Illusory images and voices can and will appear and can take any number of forms, depending on what is most appropriate to a character. Additionally, characters may thread with each other and are encouraged to help each other out to overcome these personal demons. For those who wish to take part, they are able and encouraged to narrate their own personal demons, which will be on display for everyone who enters their thread. IC threads may be made in this post.]

Those are some harsh words coming from someone who can't stand, [he muttered darkly before tearing his eyes away and dispersing his Flash spell, leaving the two of them alone in the black with only the sound of their own breathing.
The harsh actions had purpose: a magus such as himself, young and wholly self taught, still had trouble maintaning a single spell at a time once he was rattled. Maintaining two was out of the question when the shadows around them grew larger, the echoing drips of water against the stone wall threatened to drown out all thought, and the dark whispers that lingered in the air set one's heart dancing on the edge of fear.
He had in his hands the human equivilent of an injured Luxray, one that could eat him alive if he dared to carry out the aid that he offered. The threat of harm was there one way or the other; at least this way, he could have some control.]
...Just shut up, okay? And don't move.
[And those were Waver's last words before he moved a slender hand to the man's chest, feeling the mud and debris on the cloth-- and, through that, a thready heartbeat to match the shallow breathing, the ferocity of Gilgamesh's words.
Uttering strange words under his breath, words that weren't meant for anyone else's ears, Waver focused his focus and his energy into mimicking a technique he had observed among pokemon. To a senior Magus, such a spell was elementary-- but, there was no denying it's effectiveness. Soon a pale glow lit the area, and Gilgamesh might feel warmth. And relief.
It was a Heal Pulse-- an amateur's one, but it was better than nothing.]

Waver kept his hands close, grasped into tight fists of uncertainty while he studied Gilgamesh with wary eyes. His talents still couldn't help him decipher the peculiar reading he saw about the man, but the burning crimson markings that had appeared were worrisome.]
That's right, you're not, [he said, the words falling thoughtlessly from his lips before he realized what he was saying. Standing up, he made a gesture to brush some of the dirt from his pants, his sweater-- an act of futility. They would need to be fully laundered later.]
I'd still recommend you see a specialist when we get out of here. That all doesn't look good.
[Because, although he didn't care for the gilded man from Sanctuary terribly much, there was no denying that they hailed from the same city. When their numbers so far included a wreck of a homunculus, three untrained or non-traditional magi, and Gilgamesh, Waver knew that someone needed to step forward and be the sane man of the group.
Who else, than the most skilled mageling in their midst?]
Get up, [he prodded wearily,] we're going to have to walk. I could Teleport us, but I don't want to get more lost in this mess.
bite me
Even so, he suspected that Gilgamesh had been abandoned as often as he had. There was something familar in the irritable aquiescence, as though the simple act of accepting aid and following reasonable suggestions were a chore in and of itself.]
...Shut up, [he said finally, spitting out the words with a tone that dared someone to retaliate.] I wasn't joking when I said I could make you-- but, I can't carry you either. So, do us all a favor and just shut up.
