Descent into Darkness
As the characters arrive, they will find what appears to be a rather deep cavern. Upon entering, the caverns are quite narrow, with twists and turns everywhere and different tunnels that all seem to be interconnected. As characters travel deeper within the caverns, reality around them will start to warp, they will start to see and hear things that aren’t necessarily there - images of old enemies, past failures, voices of condemnation, visions that strike at the soul and core of the characters. Once this begins, it will only increase in power and volume, demanding it be confronted, lest they be trapped within these caves forever.
[OOC: This event will run for a week. All characters who enter the caves will be subject to some of their deepest fears, darkest demons, and most abject failures. To overcome them, characters must help each other out, finding their purpose through strength of character and resolve to move forward. In general, these visions should require characters to come to grips with themselves. Illusory images and voices can and will appear and can take any number of forms, depending on what is most appropriate to a character. Additionally, characters may thread with each other and are encouraged to help each other out to overcome these personal demons. For those who wish to take part, they are able and encouraged to narrate their own personal demons, which will be on display for everyone who enters their thread. IC threads may be made in this post.]

Rincewind descends. Tumbling head over heels, he uttered a guttural scream. He screams indistinct slanders at the teen high above him. He screams for his mummy. He screams because in that moment, his life flashed before his eyes, and it only lasted a second. He thought it ought to be longer.
Down, down, down he tumbled into the murky depths of the cave.
SPLASH. Baby's first spell. Coincidentally, Rincewind seems to have found water. From the pain rippling from the entire front side of his body, it was a legendary belly-flop. Fish, generations from now, would tell the story of The Big Splash.
Meanwhile, the Luggage gives a menacing squeeze. Yosuke had dropped its master. This does not please the Luggage.

Goodbye Rincewind, he barely knew ye.
That is, until he hears the splash. Yosuke can barely believe what he heard, does that mean Rincewind is still alive?
"Dude! You're alive down there, right? Answer me dammit, I don't think my heart can take it!"

"You? ... YOU DROPPED ME!?" He hollered back, indignantly. He was ... a little hurt by that. He starts to murmur to himself while he paddles little circles around the pool, blindly feeling for a ledge to cling to. "I can't believe it. He dropped me. Of all the things you could've done ..."

Rincewind managed to avoid drowning, almost to his own disappointment.

His sentence is cut short by The Luggage taking Yosuke's life into its hands and jumping down, splashing into the water. He feels his body submerge, and panic takes hold once again. He tries to swim up but he can't, his ankle still in the death grip of the traveling terror with teeth. The surface of the water becomes a frenzy of hands and arms, creating a desperate scene of survival. Until he figures out he can twist his body and just climb up The Luggage, as much as he doesn't want his upper body near its mouth.
Up he comes, drenched, gasping for air.
"Your stupid box almost killed me!"
no subject
"It wasn't trying to kill you, it was only holding on. I can see how you'd make that kind of mistake. You still dropped me though. I could've died, you know. It could've been awful."
no subject
"But how the hell are we going to get out of here? I don't know if I can get enough wind going in here to lift us out."
no subject
"How should I know? It's not like I jumped in or anything. S'far as I can tell, we're at the bottom of a hole in the middle of a cave, it's dark, and we're not gettin' out. I think, if you have any prayers, now's the time to say them." He's only half-joking.
no subject
"What do you mean we're not getting out?! We can't just die down here! I've got a whole life in front of me still!"
no subject
"What do you think will get us first? Starvation?"
Was that light from above getting brighter? Nah, it had to be his imagination. His eyes were adjusting to the absence of light. Yeah, that's it.
no subject
"No! We're not gunna die down here! Don't go spouting off how we're gunna starve! Besides, this is your fault!" He can't die here, he just can't. He's too young. He has a girl he still needs to court and eventually ask her out.
"We are GOING. TO GET OUT." He'll find a way, he has to. And after he can't, he'll give up and complain too. He doesn't realize the light is getting brighter and brighter, too furious with Rincewind for getting them into this situation.

Brighter and brighter. The light steadily intensifies. Rincewind stares at the adjacent wall and blinks.
"I think the walls are moving. You think cave walls do that naturally or is it only the labyrinthine kind?"
no subject
"Woahwoahwoahwoahhhhh!!!!!!" He's noticed that they're levitating now, and he almost loses his balancing in a little teetering fit before grabbing a hold of The Luggage better.
"Your stupid box can fly?!"
no subject
It takes a solid minute for the implication of heights to settle in like a ton of bricks. Going pale as a ghost, Rincewind stiffens and tries to crawl further ON the Luggage. He decides that looking up at the ceiling was a better, safer experience...
"Don't look now, but I think we're about to become closely acquainted with one of them stalac-thingies."
no subject
"Hey! You're not going to kill us! Don't you dare impale us with those things! Are you listening to me?! Just get us to the edge of the hole, and no farther than that!"
no subject
It then jostles, just enough to terrify its passengers. No one (except maybe its master) hits it without consequences.
"Aauugh! What'd you have to hit it for? I could've rolled off!" Rincewind yelps, clinging for dear, sweet life.
no subject
"Yaaaaaaah! What the hell are you thinking, you homicidal horror! Are you seriously trying to kill both of us?!" He stays on top of The Luggage, and doesn't move. He almost doesn't breathe after he's yelled at it.
no subject
"I think it's time we leave. At least, I'm going to leave, if I can find my way out. I'm about done with caves. Don't know about you."
no subject
"Yeah, I'm not done in here. There's something in here we gotta find. Though this place seriously gives me the creeps..."
And he feels a little claustrophobic too, being used to the open plains around Citadel. Possibly one of the worst places for him to be. Plus, he does not care what happens to the dumb box either. If Rincewind leaves, then hopefully The Luggage goes with him. One less stress factor.
