Event - Confrontation with the Enhanced
With the revelation of the presence of the Enhanced, Union was able to quickly mobilize. As the strange conditions continued to worsen, the Trainers of Union once again set out to bring order to the chaos.
This time however, they do not walk entirely alone. A small, dedicated team remains behind in Union, sorting through the dossiers and information that Crystal and Rory have collected. Connected to those in the field via Warp Band network, hopefully they can identify the Enhanced and find a way to calm them before a tragedy occurs.
[OOC: There will be a thread for each active team based on the sign-ups. Any areas that did not have any sign-ups will not be present and will be addressed later. As per our usual standards, moderators and NPC helpers will progress the log at least once every 24 hours. The Union log will work somewhat differently from the battle logs in that the participants will be collecting information concerning the Enhanced; when enough information has been accumulated, they will be asked to tag into the battle threads to provide guidance and support to those out in the field.
Characters participating in the Union log will function as support staff for this event. They will have their own log interacting with Rory and Crystal and as characters in other logs encounter the Enhanced, they can use the observations made to try to find out more about the Enhanced in the field and help the people in the field determine an appropriate situation. Because of this, players in the Union thread may threadjack any ongoing log to relay information as needed.
The outcome of this event will depend very much on player decisions and the ability of the characters to respond to the threats at hand, so we would highly encourage you all to tag as regularly as possible. Thanks!]

“You alright, Merrill?” she asks with a wary smile, before realizing what’s likely happened. She’d evolved again, for good or ill. The question was more or less answered by the transformation in demeanor as well as flesh, so she redirects her attention half-back to Gino. Merrill’s still getting watched, for a variety of reasons ranging from Is she okay? to Damn she looks good when she’s all confident. All that would have to wait though, because the important thing was to either calm this weirdo down or keep him talking long enough to uncover a weakness.
“Well…Gino, right?” Yuuna says in a frank, matter of fact tone, “We’re really not here to take you down. We really don’t want you to be afraid of us, or to even really do anything to you. I do like the fashion sense, and the dialogue though. You’ve got a real flair for the dramatic, and you’d probably put on a pretty good show if you were inclined towards performing.”
She hooks a thumb to Haruka, singling her out of the entire group. This was stupid, it was probably going to backfire, but she’s willing to roll the dice and see just how this goes. If he’s really out to hurt people then yeah, they’ll have to put him down. But if it’s just respect and an audience he wants? Well…
“She’s a star actress, so if you were interested in doing theater or broadcast shows she could probably help. Hell, with performance skills like these you’d probably end up with thousands of adoring fans.”

Meanwhile, she's actually more concerned with Merrill, and kicking herself for not training up that Mawile she'd caught specifically to trump that damned Spiritomb. She might be able to finagle something with her current team, but...
...Merrill seems to be doing okay for now. Less in need of rescue and more possibly in need of backup. Without taking her eyes off Gino and his Hypno, Isabela quietly shuffles herself and her Pokémon to put Eluvian between herself, Yuuna, and Merrill.

No. No, they were mocking him. They laughed at him. They didn't take him seriously, didn't take his power seriously, and at that, the psychic pressure around the room became nearly crushing. "You think this is a joke, don't you?" His flamboyant, over-the-top tone gone, a crooked smile turned his lips. "I've killed men for lesser offenses."
His eyes taking on a silvery glow, he took out two Pokéballs, throwing them out with a flick of each wrist. A light flashed from each, a Banette and a Zoroark appearing from each. The Banette let out a blood-curdling Screech as the room began to meld and change around them, shapes beginning to appear as Gino's own form becomes a bit more fluid.
Any Analysts watching to this point might notice something strange. Did Gino's typing just change? Registering as Psychic up until this point, it becomes just as fluid as his form; Normal for a split second, then shifting to Dark. The room, too, seems to give a very different aura to those with an Analyst's eyes.
"I'll make you respect me."

Works for her.
"You can try," she offers, giving him the benefit of the doubt - then charges, leaping into the air for a Flying-type Aerial Ace. She's of most use when in close quarters with the enemy, so she likes to open with something that (in theory) can't miss.
Honchkrow, for his part, thinks up a Dark-Type Nasty Plot. He'll need to be cunning against the Pokémon.
nerd interject!
"You guys," he said through the feed, chiming in with a controlled tone. "There's something strange going on here, this isn't what you think it is."
He wasn't one hundred percent certain what, exactly, was going on at this point either-- he would have to figure it out on the fly, and hope that he could do it fast enough.

Eluvian... Feint Attack. (Dark-type attack)
[Pointing toward the Hypno, Merrill directs her Pokemon, who grudgingly obliges. They do have a blood bond and a contract sealed between them, after all. The ghost shimmers and pulses as it floats toward the Psychic type, its motions confusing to ensure the blow lands unerringly.]
And as for you...
[Pulling a small dagger from her slide, Merrill slices the palm of her hand, spilling her blood into the floor around them. It splits into several rivers which travel toward Gino and his group, causing the floor to shift and warp under their feet. After several seconds, it begins to lash out powerfully as if Merrill herself were controlling it directly.]
((OOC: Merrill's attack is Fairy type.))

"Two Night Slashes [Dark], rapid, on the Banette and the Hypno," she ordered, her Aegislash and 'Ludicolo' obliging happily. Coming from Isabela and aiming at a Psychic-type and a Ghost-type, that should prove devastating. Once they're on their way, though, she responds to the Band.
"Quickly, please, I do believe we're about to get something horrible done to us," she replies in an oddly polite tone to Rei.

"Yuuna-senpai. Try something with Gouken-san!"
no subject
Michiru sends a quick thought to her Milotic, who immediately sets up a Light Screen (Psychic) around the entire party. Michiru herself uses Nasty Plot (Dark), looking only mildly concerned, for all intents and purposes.

Nodding, she snapped her fingers and pointed. "Gouken, go! Drop the Zoroark. Kyo, you're on the leader. But don't kill him!"
The Hitmonchan surged forward, fist leading with a Thunder Punch (Electric typed. The Tyranitar's mouth opens and a burst of bleak, dark energy ripples from it in a beam. A Dark Pulse (Dark Typed)!
no subject
Rei may notice something interesting as he observes the group. While the room itself seems to keep one property, still shifting and changing, Gino's typing fluctuates with every attack, matching it in kind.
The Enhanced looks alarmed as he seems to realize this himself, the sensation almost painful. Sneering at them, he focuses, managing to dance out of the confines of Merrill's blood magic, although not without some difficulty.
"You think you can confuse my powers?!" Gino snarls, reading an attack only to stop as two Night Slashes rip through the air, flying past and hitting both Hypno and Banette.
Anger boiling over, blinded by hatred for these people--how dare they?!--he loses focus on Haruka as she attacks; for a split second, his typing changes to reflect the Aerial Ace.
He sees Hitmonchan too late, eyes widening at the crackling electricity. It seems to move in slow motion for him, fist colliding with face. The Enhanced is launched from the super-effective attack, skidding across the immaculately polished, illusionary marble floor.
Zoroark drops his illusion, the austere glass dome ceiling, decorative but uncomfortable chair, and any other luxuries that had been created falling away, revealing one of the rooms in the Ruins' upper floors.
no subject
[Eluvian seems unimpressed, giving the floating swirly ghost vortex equivalent of a huff before disappearing back into Merrill's keystone. As for Merrill herself, the mystically animated blood she had summoned before drops to the ground in time with the illusion, and she leans on her staff for support as the green orbs orbiting her body flicker out of existence. That spiral pattern in her eye appears to be there to stay, though.]
That... that's it, then? Should we take him back with us?
no subject
Meanwhile, she moves carefully forward with her Aegislash in tow, using the Pokémon as cover before doing a quick step behind Gino, coming up with daggers out and aiming to surround Gino with four blades - two of hers and two of Aegislash's - before he can recover.
"Well-played. Now yield and we'll talk terms, savvy?"
no subject
Crumpled into a little ball, the right side of his face was shiny and red; he would definitely be feeling that one later, once it began to swell.
They weren't going to get much from him, other than pathetic whining and maybe a few sobs.
[[OOC: Congratulations, this encounter is now complete! You are free to continue this thread as you so desire.]]

This will never not freak her out.

...on the bright side, at this rate Sky's going to want a rematch.
"What a waste," she agrees, and looks around to see if anybody remembered to bring rope. They'll have to lug their "prize" back to Union somehow. (She has a Rhyperior and a Beartic who can help.)
no subject
And here's a convenient length of rope from their supplies. Let's get this over with.
no subject
[Merrill nods over at Yuuna, wrapping her hand with a strip of cloth. She knows it'll get the appropriate attention once they get home anyway, but this is fine for now. She is, of course, utterly oblivious to Michiru's quiet suspicion.]
no subject
"Let's get him home, I suppose. We've got a long flight ahead of us and daylight's wasting."
no subject
She does shoot Yuuna a look while bundling Gino up for transport. Merrill needs someone keeping an eye on her...and she's thankful she only thought that, because that pun was just unbearable.
no subject
"Good. I'm not so good with knots. More used to getting out of them," is all she really says.
