Log Deputy: It was me, Nerdo (
Nerdorama)
Participating Characters:
-Team Organization: Rise, Apollo, Pamela, Usagi
-Team Heavy Lifting: Chie, Kanji, Yuuna, and Asemu
(Teams entirely subject to change and only implemented so we don't have eight people in one thread. Let me know if anyone wants to do something else)
Plot Description: Some kids from Union help to spread the awesomeness of Pokémon habitats to our desert neighbors.
Warnings/Notes: Probably not OSHA compliant.
Rise has just about exactly enough common sense that she did, in fact, expect that convincing Caldera's and Union's leaders that building a secondary Pokémon habitat in the desert city was a great idea would be the easy part of the endeavor. Now she and some volunteers from Union were doing what she - correctly - figured was the hard part, which was the actual construction of the sprawling structure. Fortunately, between Union's architects and Caldera's engineers, the planning wasn't up to a bunch of clueless kids, and even a lot of the construction was paid local labor - they're mostly just here as representatives of Union's willingness to help out their allies.
That's not to say they weren't doing work, of course. Rise, standing under a parasol, was coordinating the Union volunteers - split between material hauling and doing detail work on the new structure - using her powers. All in all, it was going smoothly...so far.

But that didn't mean he didn't come down on the ground. After all, he had to get the materials from somewhere. He was spending almost as much time on his feet as he was in the air.

[Chie cups her hands around her mouth, calling up to where Asemu is flying. She figures she can save him a bit of work by tossing things up to where he's currently working.]

[Asemu looks down.]
Not sure yet. I need to check. Why do you ask?

Her squad of fighting types, walking icebergs and flying saucers was rounded out by a pair of tireless ghosts that could just keep on tugging things along while the bigger Pokemon took a break. Yuuna, being only human, took more frequent rests, and may be found just sitting in some shade.

Generally, everyone was keeping busy...
Team Organization
Rise in particular was making use of her Psychic powers to try and coordinate the volunteers from under a parasol, under directions from thorough plans written up by Union architects and specialists. Her Pokémon are also in on the act, her Rhyhorn gladly and gradually shuttling material around while her Gardevoir lifted it into place with her mind.

Thankfully, Rise had enlisted professionals for this project so it wasn't up to her to attempt to design anything that wasn't directly related to her fields of research.
She'd brought a few of her Pokemon to help as well. Her Rapidash, her Venusaur, her Azumarill and her Golett were all contributing to the efforts.

"Right this way," she said, pointing to the left. "I'll let you know where to set them down."
She was particularly knowledgeable about Grass types, having bonded with more of them than any other type of Pokemon and being a Grass/Poison Enlightened herself. She had still taken the time to make sure every Pokemon would have plants to eat that would suit them and an environment that they would be comfortable in. She just hadn't had to think so hard about what to do for the Grass types. That came quite naturally.

Starting on the 23rd though a new member of the team enters the picture. Apollo's Golett egg hatches then, and after a bit of toddling around and watching all the humans and Pokémon hard at work, the newborn Golett decides that it wants to help too. It doesn't know anything about building, but it does know how to carry things.
So did you leave your hammer nearby? Now in its place is a potted plant. Did you have a bag of cement? Now you have a tall glass of milk that's started to curdle in the heat. Did you have a block of stone all ready to move into position? Now you have a box of lightbulbs.
Golett is helping.

"Huh? What's wrong?"
The Gardevoir gestures to where all those hanging light fixtures she was going to Psychic into place had been, now the home of a lovely decorative cactus. She makes further sharp gestures in the direction of the Golett retreating with the box of fixtures, not trusting herself to deal with it right now.
"Hey!"

It was hotter than she remembered, but it didn't really matter because she was doing this for a good cause! She's currently helping out wherever she's needed. Helping move plants in a more aesthetically pleasing position so that the actual workers could get to planting them into the ground, a bit of painting. Usagi has her Ivysaur helping with the painting as well, and her Doduo was volunteered to cart items back and forth from locations with her Clefairy riding along and making sure that the two headed bird didn't get into too much trouble... as well as annoy all the workers with all its comedic bickering.
She's got a Gloom that's trying to help as well, but, every time a new plant is brought to the constructed habitat, it's attentions completely divert to trying to blend in with the new surroundings...

Golett is helping.

"Huh?" She glances down to see the seed bag and kneels down with a confused look on her face. "What the heck happened to my paint?" Before she starts looking around, one of her Ivysaur's vines reach over and point in the direction the Golett is waddling with the paint.
"Saur."
"Ah! Wait! I need that!" Time to give the Golett chase!

Break pavilion/mingle

But when he was told to take a break, he listened. Which was why he could periodically be seen under the pavilion, drinking plenty of water and sometimes talking to people.

So have a baby Golett shoving an armful of hay at you, Asemu.
Golett is helping.
no subject
Asemu stares. He can't help it. First at the Golett, then back at the hay.
"What am I supposed to do with this?"
The tone in his voice only further indicates his confusion.

[After a few hours of work, the heat is really starting to get to Chie. She's sitting underneath one of the tents set up for the workers, feet soaking in an ice bath as she just about melts into the chair she's collapsed in. Hot weather is rough on Ice types.]
no subject
Here you go! You look like you need it.
[ She only looks slightly better, if only because she's not an ice type. ]

[Chie sighs, closing her eyes and leaning back as she enjoys the feel of the cold bottle against her head.]

...Maybe a little more of him was to be seen here than most people here were accustomed to seeing. (Well. It looked like those lightning markings didn't stop at his arms.) Still, why worry? A man's got to do what a man's got to do in this heat...

Thank you based SaviorThat is, Rise is sure to stop by and show her appreciation to her friend in the form ofoglinga frosty cup of shaved ice, wherever she got that.(no subject)
