[Video/Action] First Prayer: Enter Rei Hino (Backdated to before the announcement)

[So, what's the first thing Rei does when she gets the video set up on her Warp Band is to
turn it on and study it skeptically. She doesn't really have a lot to say, but she figures that since she finally caved and got it upgraded at Grandpapa's insistence. She didn't want him to worry overmuch when she finally did decide to go outside Union, and that was simply the only reason she'd bothered with it at all.

There's a short cawwing sound, and a Murkrow lands on the girl's shoulder, nudging her with it's beak. Clearly it wants her to say something...and Rei gives the bird an exasperated look.]

Oh alright...[She waves it off before giving the camera a smile. It's a little forced, like she's uncomfortable, but all the same she addresses the camera.]

Hello there. This is Phobos and my name is Rei. It's nice to speak to all of you. I'm likely going to be leaving Union for the day, so I thought I'd make sure my Warp Band was fully functional. I assume it is, so I think I'll be going, but feel free to contact me if there's something you have to say. I just wanted to introduce myself.

[An odd pause...and she nods, seemingly satisfied with just that. She's not terribly keen on using this video device, but it is an expected thing, so she'll make the attempt. All the same, off the feed goes now!]

[And true to her word, Rei exits Union's gates that afternoon. A quiver and bow slung over her shoulder, with Phobos the Murkrow and Deimos the Ralts at her side, she heads off towards the forest. Something about today had just seemed rather auspicious, and the night before she'd received a vision in the flames, a premonition that she needed to be leaving Union today. She hadn't gotten much more than that, but it was clear that today was a day of destiny! And that meant getting out like she'd been secretly planning to do for months and months. Grandpapa had supported it for the most part, though his condition was, of course, the Warp Band so she'd obliged him.

Wherever she does, she's moving with a purpose, keeping her eyes peeled for things that might or might not change her life forever. Certainly the land outside was lovely enough to be worth the trip anyway. And if that was all the hunch she'd gotten meant, well...she could deal with that. It wasn't like every single vision had to lead to something astounding, after all.]

[Rei will find Michiru by the edge of a small pond, seated on a convenient log and sharing her lunch with a ravenous looking Eevee and an excited Togepi. Food!] Toge!

[Michiru looks up just as Rei comes into view.] Well, hello there.

[Well, since she's been spotted, Rei smiles and dips her head in greeting, the Ralts and Murkrow doing the same. It's right and proper, and if she's going to talk to a stranger...then her Pokemon are going to do the right thing and be polite. Even if they are troublemakers.]

Ah, hello to you as well. I apologize if I'm disturbing your lunch.

[Michiru smiles at all three of them and has to suppress a sigh at her own Pokemon. Eevee is stuffing her face like food is going out of style and Togepi is, unfortunately, imitating the Eevee to the best of her ability.]

That's hardly the case. Would you like to join us?

[at least Michiru is polite, even if her Pokemon aren't.]

[Murkrow answers the question for Rei by fluttering off her shoulder towards Michiru and the food. Rei holds out a hand to object, but it's a little too late. The decision has been made.]

I...yes, if that's alright.

[She follows, as does the little Ralts, though it sees to be more eyeing the food than anything else.]

It's about time for us to stop for lunch, anyway.

[Another quick bow, and Rei moves to take a seat not far from the older girl.]

May I ask your name?

Don't spoil them. They're greedy.

[ The reason for Haruka's entreaty becomes clear when the back of her Warp Band screen is suddenly filled with large dark wings and a peering head: her Honchkrow, potentially drawn at first to the Band's shininess, is now quite taken with the fact that he can see a Murkrow in there. He caws. Greetings, rightful underling! Be impressed with his magnificent evolution. ] Krow! Krow!

Oh? You mean Murkrow?

[She eyes the Honchkrow, as does Phobos, with a bit of amusement. The Murkrow trills back in greeting, dutifully impressed by the much larger corvid Pokemon. Not enough to see it as a boss though. She has a human for that, after all!]

Goodness, he's certainly quite large.

[ Honchkrow puffs himself up further at that. You'd better believe he's impressive, human! He worked hard to get this way, taking orders from a Trainer and everything!

Also, Murkrow, that is an....acceptable overture. He'll work on attaining further reverence later. ] Krow.

[ Seems like you get it, though. So Haruka will let the Pokémon converse while the humans do the same. ] Where are you headed?

[Well, she won't argue with that! After all, it's a really big, impressive bird.

Rei leaves the two Pokemon alone as well, letting them study one another and posture a little bit.]

I was planning to go towards the Scorched Forest, actually. I've...heard things about it, and it sounds interesting.

[Really she'd heard that there were fire types there, and perhaps that might be where her premonitions had been pointing her. A place to find a new companion, or...to learn more about her powers? It seemed like a good starting point at least.]

[ On any other day, Usagi would have just stayed at home, munching on snacks and catching up on her favorite stories. But nooooo both her Ivysaur and her Fletchinder had decided that today was an awesome day to drag her to the forest for a nice walk. Why? Who knows.

The only thing that Usagi knew was that it was hot. It was icky and that all she really wanted was to just go home and take a really nice long nap. Oh, and that the Clefairy on her head was making the walk worse. ]

Oh come on, Pinky. You can walk on your own for a little bit!

Fairy. [ It seemed both Pokemon and Human were in the same mindset... but, it didn't change the fact that this was beyond lazy! As well as the pot calling the kettle black, but that's besides the point. ]

Besides, you need to lose a couple of ounces. You're getting too heavy for my he-- OWWW! Let go!

[ Pinky leans forward, having gotten a good grasp at Usagi's cheeks for a few seconds before her Human partner yanks the fairy pokemon and starts shaking her retaliation for the pinch. To them, this was just another day in their life. To others? It might look like poor Pinky was being picked on... ]

[And unfortunately for Usagi, it's about that point that Rei and her companions happen to cross her path. Seeing the "helpless" Pokemon being picked on by the human immediately gets a scowl from the young spiritualist, and she plants her hands on her hips and calls out.]

Hey! Why are you picking on that poor Clefairy!?

[Rei Hino, Poke-Protection Squad. And in case Usagi didn't hear her, she stalks closer. At least this time she's not knocking Usagi out with O-Fuda]

I let you sit on my head all the time and you have the nerve to... huh?

[ Usagi pauses in mid shake to look at whoever just called out to her. There's a bit of confusion in her expression, when it finally kicks in that 'poor' and 'Clefairy' are in the same sentence. ]

I'm picking on-- wait, no I'm not! [ And there would be an accusatory point int the Clefairy's direction. Why? Because, Usagi's not taking the blame this time! ] She started it! All I did was tell her she needed to lose some weight!

[ But, in the time span of a few seconds, Pinky wiggles her way out of Usagi's hold and with a hop ontop of Usagi's head, finds the closest tree and climbs up it before sitting on a branch and looking away indignantly. ]

[Rei folds her arms across her chest and steps closer, looking from Pinky to Usagi.]

And you don't think it's rude, telling a Pokemon to lose weight? How would you like it if I told you to lose some weight, hmm?

[There aren't a lot of things she'll get fired up about, but Usagi's treading close to one of them. Ralts steps up beside her companion and folds her arms too, in a show of solidarity.

Phobos though? She'd seen more of what was happening from high up...and is cackling silently to herself.]

[Outside of Union, in the forest, Goku and Machop are training. Leafeon is sitting by, studying the fight even if that style of fighting doesn't exactly apply, but it does help with combating fighting-type pokémon. The two of them are going blow for blow, Goku keeping up with Machop and they duke it out.

Leafeon notices Rei and her pokémon, but it just looks like a trainer from Union, so it continues to sit there, watching. Not worried at all about Rei, even if she approached it.]

[The fighting sounds are what draws Rei in, but what gets her to stay is seeing how the man is keeping up with Machop. Martial arts aren't totally foreign to Rei, as she's got some skills of her own, and so that's enough to intrigue her, at least.

So, Goku, you've acquired an observer.]

[Leafeon turns its head, and Rei should be able to understand a little of what it says due to her power-] Leaf-leafeon, Leaaaaaf, Leafeon! [They've been at it all day. I've napped eight times since they started.]

[Meanwhile, Machop gets a nice punch into Goku's face, causing him to cry out, reset his stance, and continue to go at it.]

Rei does get it, smiling at Leafeon and taking a seat beside it on the grass.

"Is he a battle maniac then?" Rei asks the grass type.

[The weather's been so nice and Sunny really seems to like exploring outside of town, so Makoto's been packing picnics and they've been taking day trips out on the weekend.

Rei might come across Makoto and her Mareep, sharing a picnic blanket and what is definitely more adorable and delicious-looking bentos than one person and one pokemon could possibly eat in one sitting.]

[Rei will indeed come across Makoto. Or rather, Phobos will, first. A Murkrow is totally flapping it's way over towards you Mako-chan, and looking for shiny things.

...and not a minute later, Rei comes into view, walking quickly and looking for the impulsive corvid pokemon.]

Oh! There you are!

[By this time, of course, Makoto has offered the curious Murkrow a tidbit. Hope that's alright!

She looks up at Rei's exclamation, a bit surprised but not overly bothered.]

Oh, hello! Is this one yours?

"Ah," Rei paused as she saw the message. She hadn't known Jinxie was a trainer too. Or...had she? "Yes, I have. It seems like a good way to deepen my connection with my friends."

Uh huh. It is. I've made a lot of new friends since I started.

[About a third of them have taken over her house.]

[ Maki isn't sure why she responds to the video, but something about the cawing unnerves her, but maybe that's just because she's a Purrloin Shifter. She's still getting used to everything that entails too. ]

Well, it looks like it works, so you don't have to worry about that. [ Maki doesn't mean for it, but she still somehow sounds a little haughty without trying to. ]

Where do you plan to go outside the city anyway?

[Well that happens. Not everyone can get along with Murkrow.]

I'd planned to visit the Scorched Forest first. It seems like the sort of place my Pokemon might enjoy, and I think it sounds interesting too.

[ Maki's problem is mostly that she doesn't really get Pokemon at all, not having any of her own. ]

The Scorched Forest...isn't that dangerous?

[ Then again, with Pokemon in tow, she should have realized that it would be fine. ]
