[So, what's the first thing Rei does when she gets the video set up on her Warp Band is to
turn it on and study it skeptically. She doesn't really have a lot to say, but she figures that since she finally caved and got it upgraded at Grandpapa's insistence. She didn't want him to worry overmuch when she finally did decide to go outside Union, and that was simply the only reason she'd bothered with it at all.

There's a short cawwing sound, and a Murkrow lands on the girl's shoulder, nudging her with it's beak. Clearly it wants her to say something...and Rei gives the bird an exasperated look.]

Oh alright...[She waves it off before giving the camera a smile. It's a little forced, like she's uncomfortable, but all the same she addresses the camera.]

Hello there. This is Phobos and my name is Rei. It's nice to speak to all of you. I'm likely going to be leaving Union for the day, so I thought I'd make sure my Warp Band was fully functional. I assume it is, so I think I'll be going, but feel free to contact me if there's something you have to say. I just wanted to introduce myself.

[An odd pause...and she nods, seemingly satisfied with just that. She's not terribly keen on using this video device, but it is an expected thing, so she'll make the attempt. All the same, off the feed goes now!]

[And true to her word, Rei exits Union's gates that afternoon. A quiver and bow slung over her shoulder, with Phobos the Murkrow and Deimos the Ralts at her side, she heads off towards the forest. Something about today had just seemed rather auspicious, and the night before she'd received a vision in the flames, a premonition that she needed to be leaving Union today. She hadn't gotten much more than that, but it was clear that today was a day of destiny! And that meant getting out like she'd been secretly planning to do for months and months. Grandpapa had supported it for the most part, though his condition was, of course, the Warp Band so she'd obliged him.

Wherever she does, she's moving with a purpose, keeping her eyes peeled for things that might or might not change her life forever. Certainly the land outside was lovely enough to be worth the trip anyway. And if that was all the hunch she'd gotten meant, well...she could deal with that. It wasn't like every single vision had to lead to something astounding, after all.]

"You do?" Rei asks, a hint of hopefulness in her voice. Someone who wouldn't think she's a weirdo would be nice...

You're part Psychic, aren't you? [Michiru continues down the path and into the Scorched Forest proper, but the pace is slow enough to actually examine the surroundings in detail.]

[Rei nods slowly at that, though she's a bit distracted by looking around her, examining various things.]

I am. I...think, anyway. I know I'm part Fire, for certain.

It would make sense.

[a smile] Besides, showing up at the right time and place can be rather helpful.

[Rei returns that smile.]

It can. And you...are also a Psychic type, yes?

Water and Psychic, actually. [so kind of your opposite. Almost.

And she's pretty much unerringly choosing the paths that will lead them straight to the hot springs - unless Rei has any other ideas. It's her psychic proddings that led her here, after all.]

[Coincidentally? Rei's senses are basically pointing her in the same direction. Or possibly at Michiru, she's not sure yet.]

And have you been...mmm...awakened very long?

[well, then. Off to the hot springs they go! And if anything, Togepi's burbling seems to be getting more excited. Hey, this place is kinda familiar!

Hmm.] It happened in middle school, so it's been a few years now.

[As she walks, Rei looks down at her hand, turning it over and examining it rather than paying attention to where she's going. Something does seem to be guiding her feet, at least, so she's not falling down. Listening to Michiru, she's trying to really think when she realized she could do...things...]

I've...been like this since I was small. Maybe third grade really. But it's never been quite so strong as it is now. These feelings, anyway.

The less obvious aspects of it always make a lot more sense in hindsight. [any instances of having to bodily drag tiny Michiru away from the pool never ever happened. Maybe.

That...only reminds her of her own apocalypse dreams.] Perhaps something will happen soon.

"Of that," Rei answers with a slight frown,"I have no doubt. My feelings are almost never wrong. But...it may be that I am just supposed to come here."

It's certainly not a grand destiny, nope nope.

On a larger scale, I mean. [surely destiny didn't bring you all the way here for a soak in the hot springs. No premonitions of danger for Michiru, though.

The hot springs are a bit hidden, but the rising curls of steam should be something of a giveaway. And there we go. There are a few sturdy tents, screens to separate men and women, as well as a large spring where anybody can go in.]

There we are. [Togepi is definitely excited, and even Eevee looks a little impressed at all the hot water.]

Rei's face breaks into a cheerful, radiant smile as she surveys the area, taking in both the heat and the sights of the hot springs. Cautiously, the walks down to the waters edge and dips a hand in.

"It really is a shame that I didn't know about this place or I would've brought a towel. Still, it is a lovely place. Are there many visitors from Union?"

[Michiru catches that look and smiles herself. Not that you weren't pretty before, but now...]

There should be a few spares here, but it's based on the honor system. [re: don't abscond with towels and bring back clean ones when you're done]

The novelty has worn off for the majority of people, for the most part, but it's still a relatively popular spot.

[not too many people around right now, however.]

[Oh...if she knew what you were thinking, she might blush...]

Ah...really? Well then maybe I might just avail myself of them sometime. But I wouldn't want to hold you up, Michiru-san.

[A pause and she stands up, glad for the heat.]

Still, it's very accommodating of whoever found this place.

It was a group effort. [probably.

Eevee trots on over to the edge, curiously dipping her paw in the water, much like Rei had.] Will you be staying here for a bit, then?

Mmm, yes, I think I might.

[She wouldn't mind the company, even though she's considering a bath...but...she really doesn't want to keep Michiru longer than necessary.]

How about you? I do hope showing me down here isn't keeping you from something.

I wouldn't have come along if I had other errands to run.

[and her Togepi starts fussing when she sees that Eevee gets to play in the water and she doesn't. On her part, Michiru turns the baby around so she can't see Eevee and holds her up, smiling a bit indulgently.]

I might have to indulge for a bit, seeing how we walked all the way here.

[a glance at Rei] Is this what you were looking for?

"Honestly," Rei answers with a shrug,"I'm not entirely sure. A part of being here does feel right, but there is this nagging sensation in the back of my head. Maybe it will become more clear after a bath? If anything, that sounds relaxing, and might help me concentrate better."

Without more preamble, she slips over into a presumably empty tent to see what's available.

I can't deny it's a good place to relax and clear your mind.

[it's probably just a place to change, with a few spare towels neatly folded off to the side.

And if that decision is made, she'll step into the other tent to change and grab a towel.]

[And not having a bathing suit, Rei simply comes out of the tent wrapped up in a towel. The heat doesn't bother her in the slightest...a handy side effect...but she's nothing if not modest, so she likely doesn't wait for Michiru to exit. Making her way over to the pool, she carefully dips a foot in before simply dropping in, the towel dropping away at the last second.]

[naked...is as naked does. Given that there are no men around, that it's socially acceptable to be naked in the hot springs, and Michiru's (pretty much) unparalleled confidence, she's not really going to take the extra effort to be pretend to be modest. Especially since it's probably a good idea to make sure her borrowed towel remains dry, given the relative scarcity of the darned things.

So yeah, she's not wearing anything when she comes out, places her towel and clothes on top of her pack, sits her Togepi on the ground, and carefully slides in. And then she'll immediately catch the eggbaby before she walks straight into the hot springs.]

[Rei doesn't seem bothered by Michiru's nudity, it's more her own. Not that she thinks she's unattractive, but her nature errs more towards caution. Either way, she does make it a point not to stare...or look too much, but the other girl does get a brief glance. It isn't like she doesn't appreciate a lovely form, after all.

Settling in, though, she smiles at Togepi.]

Careful, or we may have boiled egg for dinner, little one.

[Togepi doesn't seem to take Rei's words seriously, and instead wiggles valiently at the surface of the water. Maybe if she moves her feet enough, she'll get closer to it?

Michiru smiles a bit ruefully, and then carefully lowers the eggbaby so she can splash around a little. Most parts of the hot springs is much too deep. So yes, hope you don't mind a little bit of splashing and tiny Togepi giggles, Rei.]

I can't say she's ever put up any resistance during bath time.

[Eevee is lying at the edge, trying to decide if it's worth it to get her fur wet. Togepi seems to be having fun...

The Normal type glances over at Deimos to see what she's doing.]

Rei doesn't mind at all, in fact, because Togepi is just so darn cute. Honestly, who wouldn't be a little bit charmed by it's antics. This whole day had been one surprisingly cute thing after another, really.

"I can see that. She's so excitable."

As for Deimos, the little Ralts is sitting in the edge of the pool and kicking her feet in the warm water. She isn't entirely sure how she feels about the place, but the warm water is enjoyable at least.
