[Video/Action] First Prayer: Enter Rei Hino (Backdated to before the announcement)

[So, what's the first thing Rei does when she gets the video set up on her Warp Band is to
turn it on and study it skeptically. She doesn't really have a lot to say, but she figures that since she finally caved and got it upgraded at Grandpapa's insistence. She didn't want him to worry overmuch when she finally did decide to go outside Union, and that was simply the only reason she'd bothered with it at all.

There's a short cawwing sound, and a Murkrow lands on the girl's shoulder, nudging her with it's beak. Clearly it wants her to say something...and Rei gives the bird an exasperated look.]

Oh alright...[She waves it off before giving the camera a smile. It's a little forced, like she's uncomfortable, but all the same she addresses the camera.]

Hello there. This is Phobos and my name is Rei. It's nice to speak to all of you. I'm likely going to be leaving Union for the day, so I thought I'd make sure my Warp Band was fully functional. I assume it is, so I think I'll be going, but feel free to contact me if there's something you have to say. I just wanted to introduce myself.

[An odd pause...and she nods, seemingly satisfied with just that. She's not terribly keen on using this video device, but it is an expected thing, so she'll make the attempt. All the same, off the feed goes now!]

[And true to her word, Rei exits Union's gates that afternoon. A quiver and bow slung over her shoulder, with Phobos the Murkrow and Deimos the Ralts at her side, she heads off towards the forest. Something about today had just seemed rather auspicious, and the night before she'd received a vision in the flames, a premonition that she needed to be leaving Union today. She hadn't gotten much more than that, but it was clear that today was a day of destiny! And that meant getting out like she'd been secretly planning to do for months and months. Grandpapa had supported it for the most part, though his condition was, of course, the Warp Band so she'd obliged him.

Wherever she does, she's moving with a purpose, keeping her eyes peeled for things that might or might not change her life forever. Certainly the land outside was lovely enough to be worth the trip anyway. And if that was all the hunch she'd gotten meant, well...she could deal with that. It wasn't like every single vision had to lead to something astounding, after all.]

"I'm Rei," she offers in reply. "A pleasure, Goku-san."

She nods her head towards the prone Machop. "And is he going to be okay?"

[garbagedisposal]

"Huh?" He turns around. Machop's still on the ground. "Awwww, he'll be fine, look." Machop is making an effort to get up, pushing itself up from the ground and sitting. It's tired, having fought with Goku almost all day.

"I think I just tired him out, that's all. We'll get some rest later, after we get something to eat."

"Any particular reason you're training so hard?" Rei asks as she goes for her pack, pulling out some trays of food she'd made. It's not much, but...she may as well offer it over.

[garbagedisposal]

Goku will gladly take that food.

"Well, there were these guys a few weeks ago we fought, and they were a lot stronger than me and Machop, so we're playing catch up. But we'll beat them, you'll see." He seems pretty confident too, and Machop is slowly making his way over to them.

[faithfulflame]

"Oh? And why did you fight them in the first place? Are they dangerous?"

Clearly she's new at the whole...trainer...business.

[garbagedisposal]

"Ooooohhh! No, no, they were trainers right here from Union." He chomps into the food Rei's offered. "You shee, ish really impor -CHOMP- tant we be ash strong ash we can!" Said through a mouthful of food, of course.

"They were jus helpin' us out!"

[faithfulflame]

She...looks at him vaguely askance, wondering how he thought that was appropriate...

"Why...do you think it's so important, Goku-san? What is it about strength?"

This is more a question for herself than him though, to see just how other people think and maybe give herself more reasons to work hard.

[garbagedisposal]

"Werhrlllmmmmm, cuuulllzmmmm...." He can't speak clearly through all that food in his mouth, and he chews until he swallows it all with a big gulp.

"I mean, I dunno, it's important to me because I just always want to test my limits. And, well, if I meet someone who's stronger than me, I wanna see if I can beat them one day."

[faithfulflame]

"And is that all the reason you need?" she presses, surprising even herself. "Just fighting for fighting's sake?"

[garbagedisposal]

"Well, sure! It is one of my favorite things to do, after all!"

And then he continues to stuff his face, and Machop raises his hand quietly to ask for some too.

[faithfulflame]

Well, how can she refuse? Rei holds out one box of Poke-Chow for Machop.

"And you don't know why? Sorry...for being so nosy, I'm just new to all this."

[garbagedisposal]

Goku just laughs, as he doesn't mind answering Rei's questions at all. "I guess I just really love to fight and compete, that's all. I mean, it's also important that I'm strong enough to keep people safe too, but I like a good challenge anytime."

Responds the battle-addict.

She frowns thoughtfully, taking in the information with a great deal of seriousness. More than it probably warrants, really.

"And that's what bring a trainer means to you?"

[garbagedisposal]

"Being a trainer?" He gives a confused look. "Well, I haven't really thought about it before, I guess. I want them to enjoy this just as much as I do, but...ehhhhh...."

[faithfulflame]

That would be Rei. Asking all the awkward questions. She'll smile through, and not press.

"Well, so long as they enjoy it...I guess that's what matters."

[garbagedisposal]

"Yeah, I guess so." So he continues to stuff his face.

"Whry are you all th- way out hur?" Speaking through a mouthful of food again, with no regard for being polite.

[faithfulflame]

She rolls her shoulders and reaches a hand out, running it along Ralt's head. "I'm starting to train, actually. Phobos and Deimos and I are exploring, and it's really our first day out."

[garbagedisposal]

"Is that so?" He sounds happy, and a little excited to hear that. "Well, did you plan on heading somewhere in particular or are you just giving a good look around the outside of Union?"

[faithfulflame]

"The Scorched Forest," her answer comes immediately, voice tinged with excitement. "I'm heading there first."

[garbagedisposal]

"Yeah? I was just out there not too long ago. Picked up a couple of troublemakers while I was there!" His Murkrow and Starly are just absolutely impossible sometimes, even worse than Goten and Trunks.

"It's an interesting place, just make sure to be careful where you step."

[faithfulflame]

"Oh? And what kind of troublemakers are those?" she asks, her walled off demeanor relaxing just a fraction. Pokemon were interesting, okay?

[garbagedisposal]

He smiles thoughtfully at the memory.

"It's Starly and Murkrow. Those two get themselves into trouble so much that I can't believe only a few people have been knowing on my door!"

The two of them were truly little terrors- he wonders what will happen when they evolve.

[faithfulflame]

"Oh? And what sort of trouble do they cause?" Rei laughs, as Phobos peeks over her shoulder.

[garbagedisposal]

"They pull all sorts of pranks," he explains calmly, "and get plenty of ideas to cause all sorts of mischief around Union. I caught them in the act of planning something out once, seems like Murkrow's the mastermind between the two of them." He sighs, even with a goofy smile on his face.

"I hope they eventually grow out of it, but until then, looks like I've got myself quite a handful for now."

[faithfulflame]

"Oh, I'm sure they will," Rei replies with a vaguely amused expression. Her hand reaches up to stroke Phobos under his chin, and the Murkrow squawks out a pleased Krooooow at the touch.

"Phobos is surprisingly well behaved. Maybe she's a little older than yours. Or...maybe you're really a prankster too and yours is taking after you."
