Who: Everyone!
Where: The newly discovered island
What: After recent events, the people of Union could use a bit of R&R. What better place than a tropical island?
Warnings: Drinks with little umbrellas in them, swimsuits, idek
An island paradise, discovered just off the southern coast, less than a day's travel from the city. A strong enough Pokemon could easily carry their partner and others out there. It was hard to say just who sent the original message, but pictures surfaced, with the tagline "Don't you wish you were here," came over the warp bands' feeds, and, like Venomoths to the flame, people began clamoring toward this new found tropical get-away. Those who wanted to go would find it easy enough--with so many people making their way to investigate, for whatever reason they claimed (but let's be honest, it was probably the beach), one could just hitch a ride.
The island itself appeared untouched by human contact. The Pokemon were strange and different compared to the fare immediately around Union. A warm breeze blew through palm trees, carrying the scent of hibiscus flowers. The water, blue as the summer sky, was warm and inviting.
This truly was a paradise.

At least Feliks was wearing something. Adjusting his hat for a moment, he clears his throat. "Incidentally, you don't have a spare towel, do you?" At this point, he didn't even care who saw him now, he just wanted something between him and the sand when he was sitting down.

Oh.
Oh, wow, that's. That's. That's a thing he just saw? He goes bright pink, mouth open slightly, unable to avoid staring and stammering for a couple of seconds.
"I... uh... L-like... Towel...?" It takes him a second to notice that the last sentence he heard meant something. "Oh--yeah, I like, have one somewhere, w-wait a sec..."
He puts down his big bag of stuff, leaning down to dig through it. Hat, baby Pokémon food, crappy books, Feliks food, parasol... Oh, there it is! He takes out a towel and offers it to Red, still trying to not stare.

Though he isn't sure why just yet. It occurs that perhaps not everyone on the beach has seen him yet, Feliks may be one of them. The thought is gone just as quickly as he looks up in time to see a cloud that looks vaguely like a Spearow drift by overhead.
The word towel catches him from cloud-watching though and he nods. When Feliks moves to rummage in his rather large bag, Red takes a moment to consider that yes, Feliks might be a boy. Who knew another guy could look so nice in ladies' swimwear? unbothered by the revelation, he takes the towel with a smile, having to whip it behind his back as a flapping Pidgey goes by, and lands on the ground. Red points at it authoritatively. "Nike, this isn't mine, you can't take it. Understand?"
Staring a Red a few seconds, she puffs up before going to grooming. About as close to a yes as he'll get for today. "Dunno what it is about this island but she's just being terrible today..." That's said absently as Red stretches out the towel and sits down with a sigh.
"Thanks. I haven't been able to sit down since I got here."
no subject
"Sure, no big. Do you like, usually have issues with her trying to mess with stuff?"
Forget fighting Team Evolution, he deserves a medal for making full sentences with a naked stranger just like hanging out there.

Despite Feliks' being ready to pop a vessel in his face, Red hasn't noticed currently petting said Pidgey while it cooes happily at his feet. A Charmander comes up after a few seconds and immediately puts Red between Feliks and himself, though he quickly starts picking at the towel and peeks around Red to look a few times.
"Oh, hey Abby," Red glances over his shoulder and deposits his hat onto the Charmander's head, which seems to help because Abby comes around him finally, adjusting the hat so it sits low over his eyes. "This is my only other Pokemon, Feliks. Abelard. Though for now I just call him Abby." He looks up at the other noy with a smile, and tilts his head. "You may need a hat."
no subject
He perks up at the introduction, relaxing a little. Pokémon are much easier to deal with than naked boys!
"Hey, Abby, 'sup? This is Huzar, my other friends are off someplace else." Jadwiga has been a little shy since the tournament, and Feliks understands why on a very personal level. Still, there's an adorable baby Dratini draped around his shoulders, making little sounds at Red in greeting, so it's hard to be very upset with life right now.
no subject
Though Red lets it go when Feliks also does introductions. "Hello Huzar, nice to meet you." He looks over to the Dratini with a smile, and Abby waves one of his arms. Nike puffs up and presses against Red's hand, he has stopped petting until being reminded again.
"Hopefully I can meet them some time. You're really good. I saw you in the tournament." It finally dawned on Red where he's seen Feliks before.
no subject
Who wasn't, honestly? But Feliks isn't used to getting that much attention, and Red seems to have stumbled on the surefire way to evaporate his awkward-fits: flattering him and his Pokémon. He downright preens, sitting up a little straighter and grinning brightly as he takes to petting the Dratini.
"My girls were way badass, weren't they?"
no subject
Red smiles watching Feliks become less embarrassed, but doesn't know it's from the compliment. Though Red also has more to say on the matter. Constructive critism however can be a hard thing to deliver.
"They were. I enjoyed all your fights, but can I make a suggestion that will likely aid your battlestyle?"
no subject
...He wants to be stronger, though. He doesn't want his friends to have to be hurt and scared anymore.
"I guess?"
no subject
"You..." He trails off. He had it together in his head when he was watching with Yang, but now it's all gone and he frowns.
"You need more faith in yourself. You are very competent and understand strategy well. I was a bit worried when you and your Houndour were facing Ezreal's Boldore, but, that feels more like an experience issue. Just be more confident early on, and your Pokémon will feel more confident with you." Looking back up at Feliks again, the smile is back on his face.
1/2 And I am very sorry for how late this is
"What, is that all? Confidence I can totally handle!"
no subject
It feels a lot better than he expected to hear someone else having faith in him. Sure, he has Fai and Imogen, but... well, they're like him. Flighty and passionate and--and wonderful, but maybe a little too like him for their opinions of him to feel very neutral. And they're his friends, so of course they support him, right?
This boy, though, doesn't know anything about him but what he's seen him achieve, and he believes in him. It's... it's very new, and Feliks finds his smile softening, his hand reaching to fuss nervously with his hair a little.
"...Thanks, though. I'll totally try and keep it in mind!"
