Mewtwo Event Start
They came in a horde. Ferried by enormous water types and a huge flock of flying types, each fully evolved with strange markings across its body. They were angry. They were in pain. And they were here.
Moving across the land like a tidal wave, the horde of strange Pokemon swept across the land, making their way inexorably toward Union, and leaving devastation in their wake. At their head, a Psychic Pokemon of immense, immeasurable power. Covered in armor that did little to mask the scent of rotting flesh that accompanied it, the Pokemon’s mind seemed unburdened by the state of its body as it swept trees from their root with but a contemptuous gesture.
As the Union forces scrambled to meet the army of Pokemon, Ori, the mysterious young person who had visited before appeared in a flash.
Begone, Origin! This no longer concerns you!
The voice thundered in the minds of all present, the rage of the attacking Pokemon palpable as its horde roared in agreement.
Ori gave the Pokemon a sad smile as their body began to glow with an aura of pink light. In an instant, the human was gone, and another, much smaller Pokemon remained.
This is unnecessary. We… they can help you.
I trusted my fate to humanity once. Never again will I make such a foolish mistake.
You will see. They will show you the way.
The two mysterious stones taken from the Gigas installation appeared besides Ori, but their sheen seemed almost nonexistent. Closing their eyes, the Pokemon engulfed the battlefield in an aura of shimmering pink light. The wails and screams of the Pokemon assembled before them grew palpable. Screams of pain, screams of want, screams of beings slowly dying, grasping for a final hope that their master might cast down the accursed humans and find a cure for their malady, a way to allow them to live as whole beings.
But comprehension is not understanding. Heedless of the aura, the Pokemon advanced, a wave of destructive fury hurled to the teeth of the Union column.
[Mew’s Blessing: During this log all characters will be able to communicate with each other and all Pokemon telepathically, and can resonate with them without having to use their Warp Band. They can bond with any Pokemon on the field without the aid of their warp band, so long as they can present a good reason for the enemy to do so.
Children of the Verdant Forest will be especially affected, and during this log they will have a sharp increase in their empathic feelings. They will feel the pain of the cloned Pokemon before them, the pain of being “lesser” beings, incomplete, and the pain of the knowledge that their lives will soon end, the process that created them being unable to sustain their lives.
Kindred Souls will have some empathic ability, but to a lesser degree than Children of the Verdant Forest as outlined above]

"Me and Kaneda will. He can counter-counter, right kiddo?"
The Espeon makes a high-pitched noise of affirmation, and then he and Rise just start trying to walk around the Wobuffet.
"We can help you out more after we've talked to the god, okay?" she says as she passes it.

Wobbuffet moves, faster than the eye can track, in front of Rise to try and repel her back. In addition to the psychic shockwave hoping to blow her backwards, it raises an ominous arm. It places its ominous arm on its ominous forehead.
And as it makes contact for the first time - as it decrees None shall touch me! it lets forth an ominous cry.
"WOBBBBBBBB-UFFET!"

"Sorry. I just wanted to help you..."
WHOA BLUE LIGHT ARMORED POKEMON AHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Orihime jerked her head back, eyes wide with surprise. She was kind of glad she hadn't brought any of her Pokemon with her. Even without psychic powers, she could tell this one was dangerous. She looked uncertainly at the others, quietly scrapping her plans of having them scatter in order to move past the Wobbuffet since, well...their objective was right there, staring at them. She squinted a little but couldn't see beneath the mask.
"Oh, er...hello." Another bow? Why not. It couldn't hurt to be polite. ...She hoped. "I'm Orihime. Pleased to meet you."
no subject
Perhaps we shall meet again.
"...Hello again. Do you remember me? We met once before, you and I. And others as well. We were there when you awakened. You spared our lives then. You said we were different."
no subject
"Stand back, everyone."
And then the leader appeared, with that crashing entrance. That part, she hadn't expected. She almost didn't need her analysis to tell that the armor-clad pokemon in front of them was extremely powerful, but she took a good look anyway, because... information was important. Even though this all gave her an... ominous feeling. From the gods faced in the past that could not be reasoned with. A being this powerful driven by this much pain? Union had been preparing for this for the last couple of years.
Finding words... that was harder. Words that mattered, and would have impact... words alone would not accomplish that.
"... Your pain has brought you to Union, and so we've come to meet with you. There are those among us who have been unaware of your struggles, but we wish to learn about them. We can't change the past, but we can prepare for the future with that knowledge, together."
Improvising, but it had to do for the moment. Although she was content to let Lenna handle most of the speaking, if she had familiarity.

She was ready to defend, but was hoping this would just be a talk it out moment.
"We're not here to harm you. We just want to talk. Please."
no subject
"You have a very dedicated guard," Rise says, nodding to the Wobuffet and willing herself not to flinch too much. "But as we were saying, we came here to see if we can work this out...if we can help you."

She gestures slowly to Mewtwo, taking special care to seem as non-threatening as possible.
"You're in pain, aren't you? Please, let us help you."
no subject
"I REQUIRE NO HELP FROM MAN"
no subject
"Just...just please stop! How is this helping anything?"
no subject
"Lenna, keep trying!" It was reacting to her, but those surges... Surely that meant something. Was someone hurting the god from afar? Was the god controlling the other Pokémon? "Try to find out if the Wobbuffet is being controlled."
no subject
Humans control, apparently. Or try to. It doesn't seem to have gone so well.
no subject
Lenna grits her teeth as she takes another slow step forward. The mental pressure is almost getting to be too much to take. But she refuses to abandon her ideals.
"I won't fight you, Wobbuffet! If I reach out my arms, it's not to keep you restrained, but to give you comfort."
no subject
"I know you're in pain. All of you," she said quietly. "I can feel it intensely. You're dying, and you're hurt and scared. Of course it's natural if you want to lash out. Anyone would."
She took a step forward, then another, and stopped. "But this can't be the way you want to spend your last moments...bloodied, and angry, and filled with bitterness and hatred. If I can feel what you do, then you have to be able to feel our emotions too. We want to help. Even if it's just to help you spend your last days in peace, where you can be loved and accepted."
Orihime looked at the stubborn Wobbuffet, then at Mewtwo. "Don't misunderstand. We came because we wanted to help. We don't want to fight you! But we won't fall over and let you hurt the people of this city either."
no subject
Help? What can YOU do?

But it looks, as much as any Wobbuffet can be observed to "look", out at the crowd. Will you try anyway?
no subject
And then, slowly and ever so gently, she tries to touch the Pokemon, giving a soft smile. "But I'll always keep trying. Reaching out to you. To make a connection. In hopes that one day we can understand each other."
[ooc: Bonding attempt with Mew's Gift ahoy?]

Orihime quieted a moment, studying the psychic Pokemon. While she could feel their pain and frustration, she didn't know what had caused them to feel that way in the first place. She could promise paradise, but that wouldn't matter if it wasn't what they wanted.
Slowly she made herself relax. "What happened...?" Did the others already know? If so, Orihime was definitely in the dark about this.
no subject
"The other thing is we're uh. Really stubborn," she admits, in support of the noble's argument.
no subject
"Yes. I'm going to keep trying because I want to show you how we've changed," she said. "But, I can't do that without helping you, and I can't help you if you keep blocking us. So, I'm going to keep trying."
no subject
Maybe it's asking itself, maybe it's asking Mewtwo. But it gets an answer when, from behind it, a whole bunch of smaller Pokémon tumble out, having been shielded by its body thus far. Small, fuchsia Pokémon, little more than blobs with heads. Should it trust?
"Wynaut?" "Wynaut?" "Wynaut?" "Wynaut?"
